Metacomet Country Club

Dear Andria,
I cannot thank you and your staff at Metacomet enough for helping to make Katy & Bill's wedding day celebration so special. I was a little nervous when we walked in and saw how many of our guests arrived early, but everyone was relaxed and chatting and enjoying a cup of coffee before the formal cocktail hour began. The way that you welcomed our guests set the tone for a happy and wonderful evening. I was very impressed by how polite and attentive your wait staff was. One instance in particular was when my father-in-law was taking a picture of the bride and groom from our table. He was taking his time focusing the camera and one of the wait staff stepped back and waited very patiently (tray in hand) for him to finish taking the picture before passing in front of the camera.

Everyone had a wonderful time and we received so many compliments on our choice of venue. They included, “This is one of the best meals I’ve ever had at a wedding”, “How did you find this place”, to “Best wedding ever”. I would not hesitate to recommend Metacomet, and working with you, to anyone.

I will agree with the first review for Metacomet that I was at first disappointed that the wedding coordinator we booked the location with was no longer employed there. I only found out she was no longer there when I tried to reach her and had to call her personal cell phone to find out what was going on. With that being said, I did work with Lu the office manager for a while and she was great. Answered all of my questions in a prompt manner and was helpful. I was informed when they hired their new coordinator Andria and we set up a time to meet. She was great and really seemed to understand how a wedding should flow. She ran the rehearsal wonderfully and made me feel at ease about how the day itself would run. The room looked beautiful and the waitstaff and bartenders were fantastic.

Andria did help us solve two major problems as well. Our photographer let us know last minute that the photo booth we were getting from him was not working so she ran around and found other rental places we could get one from. Hours before our wedding she got another photo booth there and really saved the day. She is also dealing with the fact that the place we rented our chairs from broke one of my toasting glasses and she is working on getting us a replacement glass.

Overall I am very happy we picked Metacomet. We lucked out with the weather and had a fantastic ceremony outside and reception inside. I would definitely recommend this location to anyone looking to get married!

We booked Metacomet a year and a helf before our wedding. We were really sold on the place by the event coordinator they had. She was so friendly and eager to help us plan. However, a year before the wedding when I called just to check how everything was going, we learned that she was no longer with the company. They allowed us to work with membership coordinator and assured us that there would a wedding coordinator soon. this was October of 2010. In July of 2011 there was still not a wedding coordinator. When one was finally hired (in August of 2011, we were married Oct 1st) No one even contacted us, we found out through their website. I called three times before finally getting in touch with the woman and she was a mess. She had no idea who any of our vendors were (even though we had discussed it before) would ask us the same questions repeatedly. Didn't return phone calls or emails for days at a time. She promised that between the ceremony and reception (during our photos) we would have a waiter bring us and our wedding party hors d'oeuvres and cocktails. The waiter came out once after my mother in law insisted. She told us that we would make the call if the weather was not perfect for our day. It did rain in the morning and it was suny in the afternoon, she refused to hold our ceremony outside. If price is the only thing you are concerned about for your wedding then Metacomet maybe a good choice for you but, if you would like to be listened to and helped during the planning process do yourself the favor and DO NOT BOOK with them. I was beside myself with stress over this wedding thanks to Metacomet and I still have bad dreams 3 weeks later.
