I was referred to this DJ by the Marriot, my reception venue, and they were great when we met with them for a consultation. They asked me many questions about our music preferences and what WE wanted on our day. They are professional and reasonably priced. They weren’t pushy or over the top.

At the appointment, they were very nice. They really are good at sitting you down and understanding what kind of personality you have and what kind of people will be at your wedding. They have a very good resource of music. The DJ was excellent at my wedding and wasn't cheesy or anything. Also, she really stuck with what songs I really wanted and what songs to stay away from.

I would definitely refer them to friends. They are very dependable and also stated that they ALWAYS have back up when needed.

We had David from Midwest Sound, he was fantastic! He really worked with what we wanted, he was fun, he got people out dancing and he was very personable and extremely professional.We had many compliments about how fun he was, and how personable... I would highly recommend this company!

Our DJ(Dan) was wonderful. He kept the flow of the evening going and the dance floor full all night long.

Matt taught all of our guests the Cha Cha Slide, the Cupid Shuffle and a ton of other fun line dances, which was great because our family never dances at receptions I've seen before.

Pretty much everything was way better then we expected. We loved our DJ and it was the best part of our night. The lights, sound, and video ran perfect! I've recommended them to a couple friends already.

Mike Mack was my DJ through Midwest sound and I cannot tell you how great a night he made it. Based of of a 10 minute phone call and some forms where I was pretty darn vague about what I wanted, he created music for the ceremony, dinner and dance that was phenomenal! I got the stomach flu halfway through the wedding, but the music was so good that I was dancing in between running to the bathroom.

We are so glad that we went with Midwest Sound DJ Entertainment!! They were so helpful before the wedding answering any questions that we had. They have you fill out a few questions about you and your fiance and what you are looking for in your DJ, and then they match you up with one of their DJs. We got Matt and we are more than happy with everything he did for us! All of our guests said that the music was the best/most fun part of our wedding and we couldn't agree more! My parents used Midwest Sound for their wedding 27 years ago. We were surprised to see they are still in business after that many years. Even though we couldn't get the same DJ as my parents (LOL) everything was smooth from start to finish. Thanks.

Midwest Sound was great to work with. Our dinner ran later then we planned so we had to push all the events up before the photographer left. Our DJ, Wade just rolled with the punches and still kept the dance floor full all night. I wouldn't look anywhere else for a DJ.

We hired a DJ from Midwest Sound - Kevin - he was wonderful. We had actually seen him at a friend's wedding too. He kept everyone on the dance floor and played a mix of music. The team members at Midwest that I worked with beforehand were great as well!! Definitely a great company.

Our DJ was Bryan. He was everything we wanted in a DJ. If you are looking for an animated DJ that will interact with your group ask for him. He played all of our requests. My friends are still telling me how much fun he was.

It was such a relief not to have to worry about keeping things moving so people were not getting bored or losing interest. It was a blast and our dj was AMAZING with song selection!

We were so thrilled with our service from Midwest Sound and Light. I read many reviews before signing with them and found others had the same experience. They provide a questionnaire to learn more about what you're looking for, and they found a DJ that matched the personality and style we were looking for. I was a little nervous as our wedding was quickly approaching and I hadn't heard from them, but just as all other reviews said, my DJ called early in the week of the wedding and we walked through the entire reception. We couldn't have asked for a better DJ.

Paul was absolutely fantastic...I would recommend him to anyone!!

DJ Paul Singh was awesome, kept the guests engaged and the dance floor was busy all night! Paul checked in on us frequently to make sure we were satisfied and to see what he could do better. At the beginning of dinner, our guests were clinking glasses a little too much and Paul approached us to see if we wanted to change the results to my husband and I kissing to other couples kissing. We were very grateful for the change especially since my dress made it difficult to stand and sit so much, and we were able to finish our own meals. Paul called me a few days before the wedding to go over details and make sure he had everything set that we needed and all of our special requests. During the reception he checked on us to see if we had any special requests that had to be played, since they were slower songs he was hesitant to play them because they would have changed the entire mood of the dance floor. I appreciated that Paul checked with us on that, and I believe his judgment was correct. Paul liked our dinner music suggestions and felt we had similar tastes so much that he made us a CD of songs he liked too. My one single criticism would be that one of my guests said the DJ gave him two disposable cameras, and they took poor pictures and cost us a lot (in comparison to digital printing) to develop.Midwest Sound as a company was easy and personable to work with. I chose them over another top competitor in the area because Midwest took the time to have a real conversation with me instead of giving me generic responses. Everyone I spoke with at Midwest Sound was charismatic and a great conversationalist, even though I am fairly quiet myself. From the very beginning I was confident that I chose the right company and I sure as hell did!

Our DJ was incredible and totally made our night one we will never forget. He was proactive in connecting with us prior to our wedding so that he pronounced everyone's names correctly, and ran through the schedule to make sure everyone was on the same page. On our wedding day, he greeted us when we arrived at the reception and was completely tuned in to what we wanted/needed throughout the entire evening. He was friendly and professional, responsive and yet not scared to initiate new activities and dances. I was super impressed with the professionalism up front of the DJ company, coupled with the personal/consultative touch when working with the DJ. He came professionally dressed, was willing to accomodate and did a good job of reading the crowd.

The DJ at our reception was a huge hit. He knew just what to play and would have fun and get on the dance floor with us. It definitely made the night even more enjoyable.

I do not remember the actual name of our deejay, but everyone said he looked like Emmit Smith. HE WAS AMAZING! I could not have asked for better. He was up beat, dancing with us, and getting everyone out on the floor the whole night!

Our DJ was excellent, he was very flexible as we were trying to get everyone together to line up for the Grand March. Plus, there was never a dull moment of the dance floor (of which I was worried, that no one was going to dance) and there were always people dancing. We had Nate as our DJ for our wedding on March 12, 2011. We had a WONDERFUL night. There was not one point during the evening where the dance floor did not have a group of people on it. We gave him a list of songs that we wanted to hear and he was able to add to it by taking requests and reading the crowd. He was AWESOME. A big, big thanks to DJ Dan, Jamie and everyone else at Midwest Sound. Our ceremony was a bit complicated - the DJ did a great job and really helped my wedding party feel relaxed and comfortable with toasts and events. I also liked how all my requests were taken seriously, and my brother also said it was the best wedding party night he's ever been to. Our family likes to party, so we asked Midwest Sound for a DJ that will handle our requests and be professional, not cheesy. Our DJ met our expectations and surpassed them! A++!

My friend had looked all over Minneapolis and Saint Paul for her DJ last year and she used Midwest Sound. So it was an easy call for us when it came to picking our DJ. Steve did an absolutely amazing job at our wedding and was the perfect fit for our crowd. He really helped get things going even when it seemed everyone was busy chatting instead of dancing. He was extremely flexible and helped us meet all of our needs, staying later than he'd planned, coming early in case of bad weather, and making the crowd laugh constantly. It was great! Our DJ was great! He was very professional and flexible with our requests. We got married during a blizzard and the DJ was all ready and set up on time! The price was very competitive, and several hundred dollars lower than other DJ companies in the metro area.

Mike at Midwest Sound was essential in making our wedding ceremony and reception a big party. We really wanted our own music played, and Mike did a really good job of playing our playlists at our wedding. He kept the party going and he also stuck to our request that certain songs NOT be played. He did a really good job of suggesting music that he thought was appropriate to fit into our wedding. He was so easy to work with. Also he made sure that he showed up on time and that he set up everything way ahead of schedule. This was a major concern as the biggest snow storm in years was hitting us that day. He was very organized when we had our phone meeting. We were clear on how the evening was going to transpire. It was a great night, and Mike certainly added to the great evening that we experienced!

I would recommend Joe from Midwest Sound to anyone looking for a dj on their wedding day. He was very professional and did a great job as our dj. The music for the ceremony and reception was perfect. We had special music that we wanted him to play during our ceremony, and he was very accomodating. The reception was a blast. Joe played the perfect mix of music. The dance floor was always full, and everyone complimented the variety of music. Quite a few of our guests asked who the dj was, because of the great job he did. The dance floor was full until the very last song. When the last song was over, everyone was disappointed that the great music and dancing had to end! The DJ service provided was excellent! We created a list of "to plays" and the genre of music we liked, but told the DJ that he could sort of judge and see what people were responding to and go with it. He also gave us a call a few days before the wedding to ask questions and get a feel for what we wanted. Our dance floor was full all night! I loved working with Midwest Sound! The office staff was really friendly and answered all of the (many) questions I had. Paul Singh was our DJ, and my husband and I couldn't have been happier with him! He had everything going by the time we got there, and it was really great to just relax at the reception and let him do his thing. Our DJ definitely fit our personalities. We didn't meet Jamie W until the day of our wedding, but he was a perfect fit! He actually got on the dance floor to demonstrate the "Thriller" dance! He got the guests involved, but he wasn't overpowering. Worth every cent!

Jamie was our DJ and he was fantastic. He was a great at ensuring our needs and wants were met; he introduced himself to our parents and explained to them how the evening was going to go. It was evident that he was experienced and knew what he was doing! Most importantly, he kept the dance floor hoppin! Wonderful DJ! He was kind, fun, and so responsive to what we wanted. He also checked in with us before playing anything that we hadn't asked for. He was great! Our guests danced the whole night!

Jeremy was absolutely wonderful to work with. He 100% stuck to our 'do not play' list while also using his own judgement on what would keep the dancefloor packed all night. I do not have a single complaint about Midwest Sound and Light and would use them all over again in a second.

Very excellent services. Our DJ was very flexible with our song selection. It was easy to contact them most times during the day and night with any questions. It was a pleasure having them. I live in Chicago and my wedding was in Rochester, MN and they made it very easy to plan. We could choose our music online at our own time and just contacted them a week prior. It was a great time!

The Dj Paul Sing was amazing. He made sure that everything was organized and consulted with us before going forward with things like the spotlight dances and bouquet toss. I think the people that did dance had a great time! I would recommend this DJ to anyone using Midwest Sound.

Midwest Sound and Light did an awesome job AND they were super affordable!! Comperable or cheaper than other places we received quotes from. Jamie was our DJ and he was AMAZING. He did so much more than a DJ should have. He was completely familiar with our entire venue and the staff. I called and asked for a specific cable for my computer because my DVD burner wasn't working and he not only had the cable but offered to burn the DVD for me (with his own discs!). He completely saved the day! He did everything we asked and was completely on our schedule. He even played the obscure request our uncle made! He went on the dance floor to help teach everyone the dances and we truly had many compliments from our guests. They exceeded our expectations--request Jamie he was awesome!!

Get Paul! He is great! Young, high energy (but not over the top) and motivate to make it your night! I had a special request for the father daughter dance. Paul discussed with me on the phone and made the moment perfect!!! There was an awkward moment when my dad was in the bathroom and everyone was trying to find him. LOL Paul did a great job playing fill music until my dad got to the floor. He was great with all crowds. He started with kids/group dances to get everyone excited, then did a few ballroom/slow dances and ended the night with pop/hip pop music for all the wedding party, friends and family to have a blast! I worked with Hard planning the music for our wedding reception. We had a great DJ who made our night very special. My husband and I don't have families that tend to get up and dance but he got everybody involved and several times throughout the night the floor was full! They listened to our requests about certain songs not being played and even made sure my mom was able to play a few songs that she wanted dedicated to my husband and I. I wouldn't go anywhere else for DJ service. They also had a great list of ideas to enhance the reception as well.

These guys are great. My husband is into a lot of local music and our DJ had a lot of it and knew it. He was very professional and made sure that we got everything that we wanted. We were a bit leary since we wouldn't meet him or talk to him until the week of the wedding but he was great!

Jamie was freakin' AMAZING!! He was very willing to help with ANYTHING that I needed (even if it wasn't a typical DJ "duty"). What I really liked about him was that he was great at getting everyone on the dance floor. When there was a rare song that had very few people out dancing, he'd follow it with a group-dance song like the Chicken Dance. He truly made the night memorable!

We went with Midwest Sound and Light Shows because of the excellent customer service we received when we were shopping around for a DJ. They kept up this level of customer service throughout the process! Our DJ was Emmett, and he was EXCELLENT. He was incredibly friendly with the guests, and very flexible about bouquet tosses and such. And most importantly, he kept the dance floor packed just like we wanted! Our guests even mentioned how great our DJ was!

Midwest Sound and Light handled both my preceremony, ceremony, and reception music because I had the wedding and reception in the same room at the same hotel. I was very impressed by the DJ. My husband and I had originally interviewed the DJ that was going to perform at our wedding. We were notified the day of the wedding that he had a family emergency but the company would send a different DJ to perform. Given the circumstances this could have been a problem, but the DJ that arrived was professional, played all the songs we had chosen, and did an excellent job as emcee. I am so thankful we selected Midwest Sound and Light and I know they contributed to our fantastic wedding!

The DJ was great at the reception. Not overbearing or pushy, just right for entertainment. Everyone at my wedding got up and danced and they were totally receptive to the type of reception that I wanted. They also did my ceremony music which was amazing, everything was right on que, even without a rehearsal.

I am so happy we went with Midwest Sound for our wedding. I discovered them at a Bridal Show 10 months before our wedding, and immediately I clicked with one of the DJs I met there. His personality was a great fit to what we wanted in a DJ -- involved, but not obnoxious; helpful, but not overreaching. We went over a detailed music selection list & a few questionnaires to make sure we got the right selection of music played at the wedding. One thing our DJ emphasized (and this was really the selling point for me) was their company's reliability. The DJs bring duplicate equipment in case something fails, they keep a certain number of DJs open in case yours has an emergency, and they have other support staff on hand. We got to see this in action, because our DJ had a family emergency on the weekend of our wedding. They connected me with the DJ they were going to send in his place so we could talk to him before the wedding, and because of all the music selection and such that we had done, he ended up playing the perfect playlist for us. He got people out on the dance floor with more universal songs (Footloose, Shout, etc) and then later in the night played some "younger" music as some of our older friends & relatives left. He was very professional and we were very impressed, both with our DJ and with the company.

I absolutely loved my DJ!! He was so much fun and did the special event I wanted to have at my wedding (hula hoop contest). He was funny and I could tell he loves his job. He helped make the guests feel comfortable and want to get up and dance and join in the fun! He played all the songs we requested and did a great job. I would definately recommend this company!! I also had a coupon from one of the wedding expo's so that saved some money also.

We paid for these guys to drive 5 hours round trip and they were still cheaper than the local guy I had talked to for our "destination" wedding. They were phenominal! So good, that when my sisters DJ didn't show up for her wedding reception, I called them and they were there within the hour! They saved her wedding. I wouldn't hesitate to use this company. They customize to your likes (and dislikes).

I can't say enough about Midwest Sound! After my wedding, you can totally consider me their biggest fan, and I tell everyone I know to go with them!From our initial contact at a wedding show, I knew these were the right guys for our wedding. NEVER regretted it! In a wedding plagued with a bait and switch meal, horrible cake experience, and a fraud of a photographer... these guys totally saved the day. Their work at my wedding is the only thing (aside from a great husband!) that lets me look back on the whole experience and smile!Midwest was great about matching me with my ideal DJ - who ended up being Jesse. Though he didn't even work on the day our wedding was scheduled, he rescheduled his own work so he could be there! Communication up till the wedding was great!I was a bit worried that our friends aren't really big into dancing, but Jesse really kept the party rocking, and I was shocked by how much dancing ended up happening! He was SO great to work with, the whole company was great to work with, HUGE value for the price, and I'll be forever grateful to them for saving the party!!

We hired midwest sound for our wedding after seeing some of their advertisements and talking with some of their sales professionals, who were extremely helpful and knowledgeable. They also offered one of the best packages for the price. We were extremely pleased with the service we received. We let our DJ cut loose and be as interactive as possible with our party. The dance floor was crowded the entire night and everyone repeatedly told us that our DJ was amazing. We highly recommend Midwest Sound if you are looking to have a really great party at your wedding.

Our DJ was amazing! And actually we had two because they were training in someone new (I gave the ok on this) and they were both great! During our "moment" they played the song we walked down the aisle to and during the reception she took pictures and was so interactive. She truly went out of her way to make sure we were all having a great time!

Our DJ was great! Always checking in and making sure things to our satisfaction. He did well keeping the crowd engaged and active participants. He was able to meet requests of our guests and meet all our needs. He did play "Earl" from the Dixie Chicks; it was just not appropriate! Other than that, it was wonderful. The dinner music played was a nice touch as well.

Midwest sound was great. The price was reasponable. Guest complained after the wedding that they couldnt really hear my DJ talking on the mic. But it's nothing that ruined my wedding. I enjoyed all the music, good variety and great selections made by the DJ.

I would just like to say what a wonderful job the DJ, Adam, did at our wedding! From the planning beforehand until the end of the night, everything went great. Adam was very helpful during the planning portion, making sure we would get exactly what we wanted, but also offering quality insight on things we had questions about. The dance went wonderful! There were people out dancing that I didn't expect to dance. And we had a very surprising amount of guests stay all the way until the end of the night! He was very good at announcing certain dances or events that were coming up.Midwest Sound did a great job matching a DJ up to our preferences. They were reasonable with prices too. They gave us a discount, and even gave us an extra hour of dinner music at no extra charge (since our ceremony was so early). We couldn't have asked for a better DJ!We will highly recommend Midwest Sound!Thank you!!

The music at our reception was simply amazing. Our DJ was interactive with the crowd, and managed to keep a good number of our guests out on the dance floor for the entire night! There were several dozen guests who remained to dance and help us close our venue down thanks to our DJ. He made sure that my husband and I were completely satisfied and stuck to our "No Play" list, or "Please Pay" list 100%. They did a GREAT job!

Our wedding was nearly 2.5 hours away from the home office and even with travel costs, the total cost was very reasonable and worth it. The DJ showed up very early and was professional. He played great music...including the selections we chose in advance. We would definitely recommend them!

I think it sort of depends on who you get for your DJ, but Mike, our DJ, was AWESOME. He seriously made our event. He performed our sports type bridal party intros with tons of enthusiasm, then kept people dancing alllll night long. He honored our list of must plays/dont plays (two people said they were turned down for a song we didnt like!) and asked me about a song he wasnt sure I would like. My maid of honor said "I hate this DJ because he keeps playing songs I love - when am I supposed to take a break???" As far as Midwest Sound and Light the company - they seemed to have everything together! They sure matched us with our ideal DJ and at a very decent price. They made sure to get some of the more obscure songs we wanted ahead of time and there online event planner was very easy.

Our DJ, Steve, was great! He was so much fun. He got out and danced with us to some of the songs, the rest of the time he was jamming out behind the table by himself. He was great at getting everyone to participate and dance along. I would HIGHLY recommend this service!!!

Our DJ was outstanding. Finding out who are actual DJ was in advance was a little tricky but he made sure to make contact with us the week leading up to the weddding to go over all the details we had. The music manager also ensures your playlist is set up long before that as well. They have great tools on their website that allowed us to choose a must play list and don't play list that went right to our DJ. Also, we could leave notes attached to certain songs so they knew if they had to make an announcement or what order to play the songs in. It really made the whole process easy. DJ Dan was who we got and we were very pleased. He was very cordial, professional, and relaxed about the financial end of things. he also provided just the right amount of interaction we were looking for. He knew how to keep the people on the dance floor all night. We also had some traditional spanish wedding songs that we wanted to mix in to the music and he did a great job integrating the two styles of music.

Overall good, would have liked the DJ to be more interactive like we specified.

Our DJ was great! He worked with what we wanted; even allowed my husband to have a DJ friend mix his own tracks for a while. They did our ceremony music also!

Our DJ did a wonderful job! He had the people on the dance floor the whole night. He made sure everyone was having fun and even threw his own touch into the mix. I would highly recommend them if you want to have a good time at your reception! The only complaint I had is that my paperwork wasn't recieved and instead of calling a week before the wedding to ask about it, they called the week of the wedding when everything was very busy. But they did everything that they needed to do to make sure everything went perfect. Very helpful!

I am truly grateful for all that Midwest Sound did for me in planning my ceremony and reception, and then delivering on everything. My family and guests had a fun time and I have great memories of the whole night. I wish I would have reserved sooner and gotten the best deal; still, it was a great value and I would recommend Midwest Sound to anyone for DJ services.

My husband and I got married in a blizzard and Midwest Sound stuck to their word - they never miss a wedding! Our DJ, Steve had our guests involved from the moment the reception started. Midwest Sound was great at following up with us and making sure all of our needs were meet.

Make sure your DJ knows exactly what you want, ie. do you want to tell him what to do all night, or would you rather him/her dictate when games are played.

We had Emmet for our DJ and he was very professional, involved, and even danced a few dances with the group! We had a great time as did our guests.

Evans did a great job! We had a conference call with him two days before the ceremony to go over names, timeline, etc. He also agreed to let us play some Swedish music my husband brought with him when he moved to the USA. Evans made sure the music was at the right sound level, he made sure the dinner music was okay - he was great! Would highly recommend Midwest Sound again. Our friends are still commenting about the fun they had dancing at our wedding.

Midwest Sound were great to work with. They were very organized and we were very impressed by them! Our DJ was Emmett. He was very friendly and really knew what he was doing. He was very flexible with taking requests throughout the night. The only bummer was the father/daughter dance-- there were no words to the song! I was a little bummed. Most people knew the song anyways so it wasn't much of a guessing game. I just really wanted the words! He did apologize afterward which I appreciated. I would recommend Midwest Sound & DJ. They are very professional and easy to work with.

We had great communication with Midwest, and James did nearly exactly what we asked of him the day of .. the dance-floor was packed all night, and he played music that both old and young could dance too.
