Married May 22, 2010
When my husband and I set our wedding date, we had decided to do the entire wedding planning and coordination ourselves. However, when we found out how stressful and time consuming the entire process was, we decided to employ Kristy's services (after extensive research and interviews).
Within the first week, Kristy had sent over an itemized budget, list of local venues with prices, contact information for all vendors, as well as a ton of other information that we didn't even know that we needed. She found us a 5 star venue that we didn't even bother looking at because we assumed it was out of our price range, but they were running a special if you booked by the end of June 2009. It looked like we spent 2 or 3 times more money than we actually did. We literally could not have planned the wedding without her, she was amazing (even though our wedding was almost 2,000 miles from where she lives).
The day of the wedding, we felt like guests in the best way imaginable. Neither of us had to lift so much as a finger (much less speak to a vendor). Everything was so perfectly smooth and organized. When we were getting quotes for wedding planners, Kristy was SIGNIFICANTLY lower than anyone else, so we assumed that we were "getting what we paid for", but it was quite the opposite. We felt a little guilty for all of the time and effort that she was putting into our wedding. I cannot have imagined our day going any better.
There were 3 vendors at our wedding that I couldn't have done it without, and Kristy is at the top of that list. We are the people who always say that we are going to write a letter (either to complain or compliment), but we never do. However, we have never done anything with which the choice of vendors weighed so heavily on the outcome of the event. Getting married is the largest and single most special event that most people will ever experience in their lifetime, and the planner/coordinator is in charge of running it all. There was no one at our wedding more organized or caring than Kristy. I can confidently refer her to any new bride-to-be.
Email me if you have any questions or would like referalls for any other vendors. Our photographer was referred to us from a couple that we met at a party, and he was amazing too! (EPProStudio.com) You can go to that website and see pictures from our big day!
Sincerely,
Kimberly McFadden

My experience w/ Milestone events was amazing! Kristy was not only a sweetheart but professional, organized, detail-oriented, and supportive. Before meeting Kristy, I felt overwhelmed, and was unable to really enjoy the whole wedding process. Once I met Kristy, she was able to put me at ease and I knew things would work out. For example, I had seen these beautiful wedding invitation that were out of my budget ($5 over, per invite to be exact), and she was able to find exactly what I wanted for half the price! She really has been great to work w/, and I truly appreciate all she’s done to make my wedding experience wonderful! Thank you again to Milestone Events!

Let me first start by saying planning a wedding can be a stressful time, especially if all the details are disorganized. The last thing any couple wants to do is haggle over particulars and obsess over details. And finding Kristy was a miracle come true. She is the type of wedding planner that can take care of any item, no matter how small. Since she knows the couple’s price range, she can weed out any vendor who doesn’t fall within the confines of the bride and groom’s budget. In addition, she'll know the happy couple’s likes and dislikes and will make sure even the most minor details are perfect.
She also had a perfectly acceptable time line. Any newly engaged couple can be overwhelmed with thoughts of what to do first and how far in advance it should be handled. Since she’s done this many times before, she knows the proper sequence of events and how they should be handled.
Any couple who is considering hiring a wedding planner should definitely consider the services by Milestones By Kristy. Her services were so extrordinary that my mom actually used her again for my baby shower. I've gotten so many compliments over my 2 occasions and we cant take credit for everything. Kristy really helped make it all happen. Her quality of service, flexibility, responsiveness are by all means with the upmost professionalism. She not only does event planning for a living but she cares about her clients. And with this is i highly recommend her for all event planning occasions.

I pretty much decided to do all the planning on my own to save money but as the day neared I was becoming overwhelmed and the coordinator at the wedding venue was not being responsive. After going through 5-6 different vendors I went with Kristy for the Day of Planning option. Kristy was by far the best value and most flexible when compared to other planners in my price range. Even though I only went with the day of package, Kristy went above and beyond by helping me get my cake and bridal flowers last minute. She actually brought my flowers to the wedding herself so I didn't have to pay for the shipping. I only sent her pictures of what I was looking for and she nailed it. Her participation also got my coordinator start working. It was just a big help before and during the wedding to have her there taking care of all the decorations and such. I would recommend her especially if you were on a tight budget like I was. It's definitely worth it! She also knows a lot of local vendors and can help you get some reasonable prices as well.

Hi,
We used Kristy as our day of wedding coordinator. I met with her 6 months in advance of the wedding, and she was with us from start to finish, despite her only being hired for day of services. Of course, a day of coordinator needs to know what is going on long in advance of the actual day, so Kristy, understanding that, began consultations with us from an early start.
Kristy was able to point out to us a number of issues we hadn't thought of, and really helped us in some areas she wasn't technically hired to help with, such as our transportation and last minute lighting (which really saved us BIG TIME!).
The wedding day turned out flawlessly. Seriously. Many brides have fears that a caterer won't show on time, the cake will get destroyed, the flowers will be wilted, etc. Every single vendor of ours was there, on time, and it was an amazing (albeit fast) day.
To be balanced in my review, the flaws in her performance are highlighted under responsiveness and flexibility. Although this is not a negative per se, Kristy has a family to run, in addition to a business and there were a few occasions on which this conflicted with our meetings or her responsiveness to email. BUT, this was a very minor point, which I hope is clear by the nearly perfect score we gave her.
I would highly recommend Kristy and would be happy to speak on her behalf as a reference.

I hired Kristy for her “day of” coordination package. Kristy displayed a professional and courteous demeanor throughout the day and evening. She was helpful with various last minute things, and when my mother was not feeling well at the reception, she was a huge help by ensuring she got back to the hotel safely. I took comfort in knowing Kristy was there to ensure the day and evening went flawlessly. When we returned to our hotel room later that night, to our surprise, Kristy had rearranged what was a huge disorganized mess into a romantic retreat. It was a wonderful way to end an amazing day.

Kristy was hired as a MOC and while she was decent leading up to the event, she completely fell apart on the day of. Every vendor, my bridal party & family commented on how unprepared, chaotic and unprofessional she was.
She and her assistant sat w/ my family during rehearsal dinner (uninvited) and when asked about it, said the dinner is not her responsibility and that she was an invited guest for the weekend. Invited guests are not hired to work events. At my reception, the tables were misnumbered so I didn't even have a seat and whole groups of people were moved. She didn't cue us for our processional, was actually not even there for that, didn't guide guests to the correct areas or set up decor correctly--later blaming my stellar caterer for all that went awry. It was a disorganized disaster. She even left at 4pm to get ready when the ceremony was set to start at 5pm. I was later told that she was referring to a "How to Event Plan" textbook. We had to ask her to leave the wedding mid-way through, so that we could get some sense of organization. Every vendor heaved a sigh of relief and individually came up to me to explain how unprepared and difficult she was to work with.
Brides beware. It's a big day--you want it to run as smoothly as possible. This was not my experience with Milestone Events.
I recommend the services of Milestone Events By Kristy to make your Wedding Day a one-of-a-kind event that will be remembered and cherished by you and all your guests for years to come. ~~ Angela www.calligraphybyangela.com 214 957 2155
Dallas...
Hi! I had the pleasure of working with Kristy on a wedding for the hit TV show " Who's Wedding is it Anyways" for the Style Network! Kristy is amazing, she is a rockstar, and a total pro!
I had the pleasure of weeing Kristy from Milestone events in action at a wedding last Summer (I was the photographer). I met her with the bride a few months before the wedding. Kristy helped the bride ask me all the 'must-ask' questions and was really organized in guiding her through appointments and all the little details that need to be organized before a wedding. On the day of the wedding, Kristy was present and helpful from preparations until the very end of the day. Before the wedding, she visited both wedding parties and the locations, making sure that everyone had what they needed and knew what to do and where to go once they were ready; making sure that the flowers and decorations were where they were supposed to be, and ;she even land a hand helping steam some of dresses that had became wrinkled. During the ceremony she seemed to guide the wedding party all steps of the way and they never seemed really worried about what to do or where to go, being able to focus on the moment instead. The reception was very nicely decorated, following a lot of Kristy's nice creative input. Kristy was there the whole night keeping an eye on everything and checking on the couple, guests and vendors to make sure everything was running smoothly. Kristy was incredibly dedicated and fully invested in making the couple's day wonderful and the end result really showed it. If you need help planning and running your wedding, I highly recommend her.
I've worked with Kristy many times and she has always been the picture of professionalism. Kristy is my "go to" person when I need an extra hand with my clients. Organization, responsiveness and caring for her clients are trademarks of Kristy.
Thank you for allowing us to be part of your network. We look forward to building a beautiful relationship with you in the near future! JB Yong Photographer - www.SweetDreamsStudio.com

FAQ for Milestone Events By Kristy
A wedding planner was once thought to only be a luxury but over the course of this past decade wedding planners have gained popularity. A planner will bring expertise in negotiating contracts with caterers, florists, photographers, and other suppliers, they will save valuable time and money. A planner can offer discounts from their preferred vendors that are reliable to making a successful event.
2) When should I book a wedding planner?
Now that you are engaged and have shared the fabulous news with your family begin to set a date and start immediately interviewing planners. A planner is best to have from the start because they can guide you with what to expect through the planning process as well as help design your wedding concept and recommend vendors. In addition, they will help you set a budget and allocate the proper amounts to each line item.
3) How long does it take to plan a wedding?
It was quoted that it takes 250 hours to plan a wedding. Typically weddings are planned within one year of your big day. If you have your mind set on specific venue they can book up pretty far in advance. Also, certain photographers, bands and caterers require 8-10 months to be available for your date.
4) What can I expect from a wedding planner?
Wedding planners are not there to make the decisions for your big day but instead provide options and suggestions based on their experience and knowledge. With today's hectic lifestyles they are there to relive much of the stress that comes along with planning a wedding. A planner who will be working with you for the entire wedding will be sure to keep you on track with your budget and come up with creative ideas to get you the most for your money. A full time planner will also serve in areas that are least expected, such as, a mediator with opinionated family members, problem slover to a brides best friend. When working with a bride for an entire year it is only logically that you will form a close relationship.
5) What is the difference between a wedding planner and a wedding coordinator?
A wedding planner is hired for full or partial planning and assists the couple with all tasks that need to be completed from start to finish. A wedding coordinator is a less expensive option to a planner. It is best for the bride who has done the majority of the planning and just needs a coordinator to help tie up the loose ends during the final month before the wedding.
6) What is the typical pricing for a wedding planner and wedding coordinator?
A wedding planner typically cost 10% - 15% of the overall budget based on amount of wedding (location and size of the wedding would impact the cost)
Hiring a coordinator for day of services is a flat rate between $1000 -$2,000. This will normally include coordination starting the final month of your wedding.
There are also planners who charge hourly for al la carte services. This could be, venue scouting, favor assembly, welcome bag delivery, RSVP management, etc. These services can range any where from $50 to $200 per hour.
7) How do I choose the right planner?
Personally, I believe this is all about compatibility. During the first meeting you essentially know if you will work well together. In addition to this check the planners background, credentials and past referrals. A planner should show you their past work and give you specific examples on how they contributed to the wedding. Lastly, does the planners proposal reflect what your are looking for and how did they follow up with you.
