Mimi Nguyen Photography

Mimi was our wedding photographer this past August at Rancho Las Lomas and I have nothing but great things to say about her services. She did a wonderful job and everyone who has seen our wedding photos raved about how beautifully they turned out! Not only is she a great photographer, she's overall just a sweet and fun person to be around! She's genuine and easy to work with and it made our engagement shoot and wedding day go smoothly because we got so comfortable with her. She was also so patient with our dog Benny in making sure she got the perfect shot of him. She was one of our favorite vendors for our event and I would highly recommend her to any friend or family. Some friends got married months before we did and had issues not getting their proofs as promised...we actually got our pics back before them because Mimi is just on top of it and dependable! I would definitely hire her again for newborn photos someday soon. :)

I decided to call Mimi after reading her profile on her page. You get the best of the person doing what he/she likes best. Mimi gave me a good price for what I asked for.
Mimi was very flexible to accommodate us as we had to change our shooting date.
Mimi helped us a lot on the day as we were nervous about posing in front of the camera. We appreciated her understanding as my husband suddenly got an allergy attack with watery eyes and sneezing nose. Mimi came to a rescue with tissue and eye drops, which showed how much prepared she was. the pictures are perfect, all we would ask for, and the settings are very romantic.
We are very happy and pleased with the quality of work received from Mimi and highly recommend her to everyone. We definitely will find her again for our next photo shoots

My fiance and I just happened to be in California for another wedding the weekend prior. On a last minute whim, we decided to see if Mimi was available. Good fortune was on our side because Mimi was available and willing to help us pull something together fairly quickly. Even though our photo shoot was on Monday, and we didn't really have a chance to meet until Sunday, Mimi agreed to meet us the night before and get to know us, listen to our preferences, let us describe our vision for the perfect look. Since we did it all on a whim, we quickly realized how unprepared we really were, but Mimi helped set us up with a makeup artists and gave us a few ideas on what to expect. When we first met up with Mimi on the day of the shoot, we were a bit nervous, but once we started shooting, we realized we were in good hands. Mimi's shooting style is efficient and her instrutions/guidance is to the point without being pushy or aggressive. She really knew how to make us comfortable, put our minds at ease, and help us to relax and capture our intimacy through the lens. Mimi always has a plan and is flexible enough to adapt to changing light or weather conditions without ever missing a beat. Mimi is very determined and focus when she's at work. Mimi sent us teasers within the first two days after the shoot, and we can't wait to see the rest. The photos we have seen are magical, romantic, and fun. They are exactly what we asked Mimi to capture for us.

I was lucky enough to win our engagement session with Mimi, and it was such a fun experience from start to finish. Mimi sat down and got to know us, shared ideas about our concept and helped us find the perfect location to shoot them. It was the FUNNEST PHOTOSHOOT EVER!!! And the pictures speak for themselves! Mimi was very aware of proper angles, lighting, and fun movement shots, that I feel she captured us in such a great light. I would definitely recommend Mimi, she is such an swesome photographer!!

I was referred to Mimi by a friend from school. It was one of the best things that could've happened since I was trying to plan my wedding during my first semester in Nursing school! When I went to Mimi's website it captivated me right away, you could say it was love at first sight! I loved the way she took her pictures, the angle, the style... I contacted Mimi through her website which was very easy and it's history from there. She was very prompt in responding back to my inquiry and very easy to reach from then on which is a life saver! Meeting with Mimi was so comfortable you wouldve thought we were old friends catching up! Mimi captured all of the memorable moments of my wedding day and gave the best gift of all by reminding me in all the pictures of how I felt that day! How can you capture emotions in a picture? Well she did and does, its amazing. I've gotten so many compliments on my pictures. Mimi is a true professional at a decent price, which is unheard of! Today you can spend a fortune on pictures alone and not even get all the proofs, people have to pay on top of that which I think is a crime. One main reason I picked Mimi too is that she gave me the CDs of my pictures at no extra cost. Mimi has such a style and flare that you can see in all of her photographs. She has a great personality and that comes across in her work as well. I highly recommend her!

As a photographer, Mimi’s work speaks for itself! She pays close attention to detail, gives great direction for the photographically-challenged, and has an amazing eye for things you can’t see – especially in yourself! Her angles are amazing, and her editing is phenomenal!

Mimi herself is cute, bubbly, and becomes a friend – all in one hour! Mimi makes taking photos fun, and she can put anyone at ease. Her personality is refreshing and any bride would be lucky to have such a friendly and energetic photographer on their wedding day! I am so glad I had the chance to take photos with Mimi and I highly recommend her to everyone!

Mimi is super talented and has an amazing eye. We are incredibly lucky to have had her for a photographer. We had so much fun at our engagement session - she made us feel very comfortable and guided us when needed (which way to look, what smiles look great, look in a certain way, told us when to fix our hair or clothes...). But for the most part, she let us just have fun together naturally. Mimi is very active when she works - always in and out, up and down to make sure she gets all the shots and different perspectives as well. She takes great action shots!

Mimi truly loves photography, and she is well known among her friends to always have a camera on hand. What stands out most is that she cares immensely about her work and style; thus, every single photograph is an art piece. She has awesome post-editing skills, which I think a lot of photographers lack or don't spend enough time mastering. Mimi will make sure you look your best and that the photograph is perfect (color, framing, retouching...). She has a very spunky personality and makes sure that each of her sessions are unique. Mimi has great attention-to-detail and is very passionate about her work.

I’m very happy with the pictures! They are lively, colorful, and just what I wanted! I guess it was good that Mia was in hyper mode because you were able to capture so many of her silly faces. I’m reading a book that describes a typical six year old and they say that kids at this age tend to be loving, funny, defiant. So I’m glad that I have this personality phase on record before it’s gone. By the way, she lost her tooth 12 days after the shoot! It all worked out very well….. I’m already thinking of when we should do another session.

Justin was supposed to be off today, we watch football together when we can but he got called into work for the wrightwood fire. He is going to be so ecstatic when he finds out I have these! Mimi Nguyen Photography did an awesome job at our sons' birthdays party and also our photo shoot at the beach! She caught those wonderful candid moments at the party. At the beach, she got down into the sand to capture my boys building sandcastles...priceless. Thank you so much for capturing all those great memories!

My husband and I were lucky enough to have Mimi do 2 photo sessions. Our first was done last August, where she did a shoot that included our baby boxer, Baloo. We thought it would be cute to have a "family shoot" done w/ our much-loved pet. Initially, we were a bit apprehensive to request it since we hadn't seen any animals in her portfolio; but Mimi is such a trooper and was up to the challenge. Even though our Baloo is such a wild pup, the photos had turned out perfectly. She followed up that afternoon by doing a portrait session of us as a couple. We are not "photo-people", and Mimi made it so comfortable and fun throughout the entire session. She captured such great shots of Baloo and us that we had to make cute Christmas gifts out of them :)

And now, I'm 37 weeks pregnant! Mimi met us yesterday to do our maternity session. We thought of Mimi to provide us memories of this special moment we are so blessed with. The thought of having photos taken while undergoing such a transformation of pregnancy seemed a bit scary... and having worked w/ Mimi before, we knew she'd make us feel at ease even w/ this humongous baby bump! We had a great time and can't wait to see how they turned out. We look forward to Mimi capturing photos of our precious newborn when he finally arrives... in 3 weeks!!

We hired Mimi recently for our son's 1 year birthday party and were totally glad we did! Not only were we able to enjoy our son's birthday and not have to worry about taking pictures, but Mimi was able to capture some of the greatest pictures that we probably would have missed! Not only did she take some awesome pics of our little one, but managed to take at least one picture (posed or candid) of every guest that came to the party - something that we didn't ask for, but she managed to do, which was a nice touch.

Mimi herself was great to work with; very helpful, gentle, caring, put you at ease, never at all "in-your-face", but full of energy and spirit. (As an aside, when she got there we weren't quite ready and helped us blow up balloons.) Most of the time you didn't even know she was there, which was great. She communicates extremely well, never leaves you in the dark with regards to your entire experience with her, which I found to be refreshing after having worked with a few photographers that I've had to spend a lot of time hunting down to get a hold of when I needed to talk to them.

As for the photos... what's there to complain about? They turned out nicely. She has a unique style and we love them. As a relatively new professional photographer, we are quite impressed. Highly recommended!

Mimi has done my maternity pics, family pics, pics of my 4 year old Princess Makenna and newborn, 3 & 6 month pics of my little Leah...and I must say that she is, by far, the best photographer out there. She is so down to earth and genuinely cares about how your pictures turn out. She takes the time to make sure that all the little details are right (hair in the right place, bra straps not showing, no baby drool all over (lol), etc). She really takes a lot of pride in her work and it shows in the beautiful pictures she creates. She knows how to get the angles and the lighting just right and create beautifully captured memories to have forever. I can't imagine anyone else EVER taking my families photos.

Mimi is such a talented and wonderful photographer. I had already seen her work and was very impressed prior to asking her to do my family pictures. Our pictures turned out Fantastic! We had no clue what we were supposed to do as far as posing, and with a toddler, it was extra challenging, but Mimi made us feel very comfortable and was very helpful in giving us directions while we all were having fun at the same time. I would recommend her to anyone because she has such a amazing eye for details and she is the sweetest person. Keep up with the good work Mimi! You're the best! Thank you again for doing our shoot!

Mimi did me & my husband's 1 year anniversary shoot and it turned out fantastic! I really like her angles and her lighting choices. Actually I really appreciated that she was really cool when I had to reschedule at the VERY last minute because I was deathly sick. Then she didn't cancel on me even though she got sick the very next week! (It was during the time that bug was going around southern CA)

I always appreciate non-diva vendors who are caring and are genuinely trying to make your shoot memorable and sweet.

I looked on many people's websites before I chose Mimi. I think she has a good eye and has this "expensive" quality that I like. It's important to jump at the chance of a good starting photographer before they get too popular and have their prices skyrocket, so I would highly suggest to book her now!
