This trio played at my father's wedding and he thought they would be a lovely addition to ours, which they were. They played while our guests came to the ceremony and waited for it to begin, and they played our cocktail hour as well. We loved having a touch of live music, and they did a wonderful job. Their demo CD is an easy way to determine what selections would be a good fit, and they were very responsive. Great addition!

This trio was great. My mother found them at a Christmas concert and asked them if they play at weddings. She was a music teacher for 30 years and has good ear for classical music. They agreed and I booked them sight unseen. These women are school music teachers and since I am a teacher as well, I thought it would be a good fit. Alicia always returned my emails and phone calls. They even send you a sampler CD to pick potential songs. There price was great! More than $200 less than other companies I looked at. They were prompt and the ceremony was beautiful. They were kind, professional, accomodating, and affordable. Even though they are based in Harford County, they had no problem traveling to Western Baltimore County for my wedding.
I have had the pleasure of working with the talented musicians of Miriam's Joy on a number of occasions. I am immediately put at ease when a bride tells me they have selected them for their ceremony music. They arrive on time, are extremely professional and, most importantly, make beautiful music together!
About Miriam's Joy
Miriam's Joy is a flute, violin, and cello trio. We provide music for all occasions--weddings, cocktail hours, tea parties, grand openings, anniversaries, honors dinners, and retirement dinners to name a few. Our repertoire is
mainly from the Baroque, Classical, and Romantic periods of music, but we do play contemporary songs or hymns upon request. We play outdoors or indoors and have a sound system for larger venues.
Upon speaking with Alicia Christenbury, a CD sampler of our group playing snippets of songs is mailed to the prospective customer along with a music selections sheet and two copies of a confirmation agreement. We require a $60
non-refundable retainer at the time of booking (to be mailed back with one signed confirmation agreement). Our fees are $360 for the prelude, ceremony, and postlude and $275 for every hour thereafter. We only accept checks made payable to
Alicia Christenbury or cash and full remittance is due 2 weeks prior to the event.
Miriam's Joy will play within a one hour radius of Bel Air, MD. If the event is further than that, a travel fee of $90 will be incurred.
