Reviews for Mixter Li - Mobile DJ
GUEST

Ok, so I normally don’t write reviews, but for Ryan, this is a must. Ryan really blew me away on my wedding day with his DJ-ing and MC. Not only did Ryan help make my wedding super special and memorable, he also impressed my in-laws as well as a majority of my wedding guests. I received nonstop compliments about him and how much they loved my DJ. I was extremely impressed when there were already a large number of people dancing right after dinner before I even got to the dance floor. If you want someone who is extremely organized and keep the party going, Ryan is definitely the person to go for and you will not be disappointed.

We hired Ryan to provide lighting and music for our wedding and were completely blown away by his service, flexibility and professionalism. We asked Ryan to help us create a warm setting for our dinner reception and he provided suggestions on where to place lights, what color to use and the amount of lighting we needed to get the feel we were looking for. He went to extremes to get the lighting color perfect and created a warm and beautiful ambiance for our dinner reception. We only had to meet with Ryan once because he knew exactly what we wanted. He made sure to play all the music we requested and did a great job getting our guests to dance. We could not have been more pleased with Ryan and would definitely recommend him to any couple looking for a fun, professional and well experienced DJ.

Ryan did a superb job as DJ and was a major contributor to the success of our wedding as a very fun energetic party where pretty much everyone felt comfortable dancing wildly. He really knows what he's doing for both the preparation and during the event itself. For preparation, he gave some brilliant suggestions including having the bridal party dance in to their own chosen song clips ("entrance music"), and also for how to space the various components (dinner, speeches, dancing, toasts, slideshow). He was very responsive over email to various questions and song suggestions. He did present his ideas but was flexible in accomodating our ideas. Then during the event itself he did an amazing job facilitating a very fun party without putting himself in the center of things. He made his announcements but otherwise just let the principals in the wedding and the guests take center stage. His music selection and sequencing worked extremely well for both the first part of dancing, which was for younger people and adults, and then for the wilder last section, which was for the younger people. We had so many unprompted compliments on our DJ, and more on the party and dancing and music, that I felt like I had to recommend Ryan!

Ryan was incredibly professional, listened to our requirements for the ceremony, cocktail hour and reception and kept people dancing until the venue tossed us out. What more can you ask for from a wedding DJ? Definitely recommended.

We didn't get to meet Ryan until the day of wedding. We always communicate via emails and phone. From his responsiveness and professional suggestions and advices, we were never in doubt. We had a hard time picking out songs so we ended up just picked a few must-have and had Ryan fills the rest. He did great on adding songs that set the mood and our guests enjoyed them. Like many brides, I sent Ryan the song list and the activities during the reception the last very minute. But Ryan was able to accommodate and handled everything very smoothly. We also rented the uplights from him. We weren't sure what color to use so we just left it up to him. It turns out the blue worked perfectly with the room along with our color theme. The uplights made quite a impact to the overall look of the reception and we're glad we went with it. The setup along with speakers, microphones, and projector was also hassle-less on us.The service Mixter Li provided was all around exceptional and we highly recommend!

Hiring Ryan was one of the best decisions we have made for our wedding reception in April 2011. He replied to my initial inquiry within a few hours, easygoing, flexible, honest, reliable and just overall a nice guy to talk to and work with. During the wedding process, he always listened to our ideas, made helpful suggestions that allow us to achieve our overall vision for the reception e.g. coordination of the slideshows, photobooth (which turned out to be a really fun idea). Our wedding reception was at a restaurant that was divided into a bar area, main dining area and cake room and Ryan managed to wire all three rooms. It took him several hours. He even came to the venue the night before the wedding to make sure the set up was done in time. He played all the songs we requested, added in songs that were appropriate for the mood and setting, made sure the volume was comfortable for all guests, and had the music on cue for all the events. We requested more mellow mood in the beginning and more upbeat songs toward the end and his music arrangement accommodated the mood change quite well. When he made announcements for us, he was very professional and polite. He managed to get along with all other vendors and guests. We also rented projector and screen from him. The screen was huge! and the projector was of high quality so the pictures in our slideshows came out true to color, sharp, and just beautiful to watch. The whole day went incredibly smoothly, there was not a single technical difficulty. I can't believe we even considered an iPod wedding initially. It would have been a nightmare to set up all the equipments and the rental equipments would not have sounded anywhere as good as Ryan's high end speakers. The sound was warm and filled the entire restaurant. My hubby and I recommend Ryan without any reservations. Although we didn't anticipate spending $$ on a DJ, Ryan was worth every cent. He provided much needed peace of mind on the day of our wedding. We knew we were in good hands : )

Ryan is personable and is an all around great DJ. We were referred to him by a friend of ours who got married recently. My husband was impressed with his mixing skills and wanted to hire him right away.We met for a consultation and to go over song lists. He was prompt and organized.I don't think you can ask of anything more from a DJ, but he also went above and beyond by setting uplighting (additional cost) for us last minute. I think you can search endlessly for DJ's, but I prefer to go with people who have been referred to me, so now Im referring him to you.

Having Mixter Li at our wedding was an excellent choice. Definitely one of the favorite vendors of the day.Ryan is so natural on the mic. He was an amazing emcee for our reception. Thanks to him, things transitioned very smoothly. He was very accommodating and flexible. He let the program flow at a natural pace, all while keeping us on schedule. He kept the party going. Prior to the event, I had emailed Ryan several times with changes in the schedule. He was understanding and responsive every time. He went beyond his job description: he asked my sister/MOH to teach him my parents names in Cantonese before introducing them!! That was really sweet. Not only is he an excellent DJ and emcee, Ryan also provided beautiful purple uplighting for our event!! The uplights transformed the room and we received many compliments on it even long after our wedding. He was timely in setting up and getting the room ready way before the reception started. He was helpful in our color choosing process. We decided on purple (his uplights come in many many colors). In my opinion, professional lighting REALLY makes a difference in the event. And Ryan made it happen.Mixter Li is extremely professional and talented. I am very happy that he was part of our wedding!

Mixter Li was fantastic! From step one, the site visit & planning, he was on point. He came with his team, knew all the right questions to ask the venue, and gave us his thoughts on lighting treatments, etc. We trusted him completely as we didn't know much about lighting and he totally came through. His set-up was efficient and focused and the space was lit gorgeously! Fun, appropriate for the space, dramatic, yet not over-the-top. He knew exactly what the space needed for that extra punch and his color choice, purple, worked perfectly! Even better than his lighting know-how are his DJ skills. Our guests were dancing up a storm the entire night. Mixter Li knows what gets people on their feet and keeps them there. He played all of the songs we requested and mixed it up a bit but kept within the genres that we'd requested. We had numerous guests tell us afterwards that they had never danced so much at a wedding before!Hire Mixter Li and you won't be disappointed!

We wanted a DJ for the wedding instead of a band and after some research Ryan was one of the vendors we knew we wanted booked and in contract right away for our wedding. Not only does he have great reviews, the guy is just fun, easy to talk to when describing the vibe you want for your wedding, really knows his stuff, also offers lighting and comparable prices, and is extremely professional. My husband and I had so much fun at our wedding. It ended up raining the hour before and he had to move his equipment to a different location at the very last minute. He was very flexible with the last minute change of plans and worked so fast moving everything to the new spot. During the reception people came up to Ryan all night asking for his card and giving kudos to him. Ryan also emceed our wedding for us perfectly, hes a natural on a mic! The night was seamless, effortless and we cant thank him enough for making our day even more memorable for us =D Book him as soon as you can, and if he has the date open you will not be disappointed!

I have to say, searching for a DJ is NOT easy. Granted I’ve been in SEVEN weddings, I wasn’t able to ask my friends for referrals b/c some were out of my budget and some had DJ’s that were ‘ok’. I wanted the best for what my money could buy…..after all, the scariest thought is to have an empty dance floor on your wedding day.
When the search began, I was excited. Come on, how often do you get married and are allowed to ‘interview’ people? I quickly found that this process was NOT fun! After a few weeks of searching and four interviews, I pretty much just gave up. A dear friend of mine said, “My cousin is a DJ, but I haven’t seen him in action. Maybe he will do it for you.” So I thought, doesn’t hurt to meet with him and I’m SOOOOOO glad I did.
OMG – DJ Mixter Li AKA Ryan, is THE BEST DJ EVER! Now, I’m not saying this b/c he’s my friend’s cousin, but seriously, he can make your crowd party like no other. He came on time to the wedding, dressed oh so appropriately, was very professional and knew exactly what music to play and WHEN to play it. I had requested a few 70’s/80’s tunes to start the dancing just to accommodate my older guests and it was such a hit, he played those tunes for a bit. When the older folks left, he eased into the Top 40’s hits and hip hop. There was never one moment when the dance floor was empty. He emcees the event and I have to mention this b/c some DJs do not, and his voice is actually very nice…he’s got that sexy man voice that you hear on some night time radio shows.
Oh and by the way, I’m not a music expert, but I just went to a wedding yesterday and supposedly this DJ they had was the ‘best ever’; he apparently DJ’s for some club. Anyhow, two things I noticed….his sound system was not happenin’ and his emceeing skills were not great. He had some slang terms when making announcements to the crowd; that’s all good if you’re entertaining a young crowd but when you have mostly older Asian people, you don’t say, ‘People, please get into your seats so we can introduce the bridal party. The faster you sit, the faster we can get the food serving.” These things are very important to take note. You don’t want your DJ to sound tacky you know? Another reason why Mixter Li was so great. He just sounds so much more professional than these other DJ’s I interviewed.
The next day at work, I had many telling me how great my wedding was….how they loved the food and even mentioned how great DJ Mixter Li was. I think I am going to book him for my unborn child’s first birthday. Haha!
Like I said, after being in seven weddings….there are only two things that will make a party a REAL PARTY……one…..never running out of alcohol (screw the food) and two, having a DJ that will keep your crowd on their toes.
I HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY (did I say ‘highly’ yet?) recommend you book DJ Mixter Li; you will not be disappointed. I promise.

I honestly cannot say enough fabulous things about Ryan. Everything you've read is true: he knows how to read your crowd and how to play the right music to keep them on the dance floor until the very end, he has seamless song transitions, and he's highly responsive and a pleasure to work with. We told him we wanted a rocking dance party, and he gave us just that -- young and old, dancing until the last song. He focused on the genres we said we wanted, and he kept an eye on the schedule I had written up (asking to switch things around when we were running a bit late). He was without a doubt one of our best hiring decisions -- hire him, you won't be disappointed!
GUEST

Ryan was a great DJ. He was easy to communicate with over email and phone. He has a wide variety of music and will get any song you request. He will go out of his way to make sure everything will go smoothly. He even made a music CD to play during our cocktail hour while he was relocating his gear between our ceremony and reception. Also did a great job at being an MC and announcing our wedding party to the reception. We highly recommend using Ryan for weddings!
GUEST

We hired Ryan for DJ and lighting services, and he did a fantastic job! He was very easy to work with, had quick email response times, and was willing to meet several times before the event to make sure that we nailed every detail.Ryan provided microphones and sound system for the ceremony and speeches in the reception, as well as a projector and screen for our slideshow. He emceed and made announcements during the reception. He set up LED uplighting and we were able to do one color scheme during the ceremony and change to another color for the reception. Ryan and his assistant setup and executed everything that we had agreed upon smoothly and well. I felt confident in his ability to deliver without me needing to worry about any of it. I could just enjoy my wedding! Most importantly, he played great music and got everyone dancing. We didn't want a cheesy wedding DJ and with Ryan, you'll get someone with real DJ/mixing skills. He has a lot of experience playing at clubs, dances, and weddings, so you can rest assured that he will be able to read the crowd and get everyone pumped up. My friends have told me how much fun they had during the wedding and specifically how they thought our DJ was awesome. I was completely satisfied with Ryan and highly recommend Ryan for your DJ and lighting needs. He is great to work with - very personable and professional - all while delivering high quality service!

Ryan was really easy to work with and very responsive throughout the process. His music was perfect and he had every song we asked for... and even if he didn't have a song we requested, he promised to buy it himself so it's on his list. Ryan was also a great emcee - funny at the right times and very professional. We highly recommend Ryan!

We had our wedding in Napa in summer of 2010, and our guests had so much fun thanks to Ryan. Ryan is professional, courteous, and competent at what he does, and he's the type of DJ who you will feel comfortable in front of your relatives while also keeping the party going for your friends. We originally selected Ryan because of the exceptional and consistently positive word of mouth recommendations regarding his DJ skills. We can now attest to this after having Ryan perform on our wedding day, and also communicating with Ryan throughout the months leading up to the event. Ryan partnered with us throughout the process, communicating back and forth about song ideas and even wedding game activities. Ryan proved to be an understanding listener with creative and fun ideas. Furthermore, Ryan exceeded our expectations when he embraced MC responsibilities by facilitating a few of the games and videos that we had that evening. Through Ryan, we also benefited from the professional services of his sister who is an extremely talented wedding coordinator who we were also very pleased with. Two weeks after our own wedding, we attended our friends' wedding who also had hired Ryan as their DJ. We were able to enjoy Ryan's DJ performances as both the wedding couple and as wedding guests, and Ryan delivers a fun, feel-good experience every time. Overall, we highly recommend Ryan and look forward to the next time we can enjoy his performances.

We notice that Ryan has 5-stars after several reviews, and we’re not surprised at all. He's a very experienced wedding DJ who executed flawlessly at our wedding @ the Argonaut hotel in San Francisco. We knew of Ryan through some friends of friends, but didn't know him as a person and the quality of work directly. But after going through the process and seeing him in action during the wedding, Ryan is AMAZING both as a person and as a DJ.Here are some of the reasons why we think Ryan is good:(1) ANTICIPATES YOUR NEEDS FOR MUSIC AND EQUIPMENTWe had a friend of ours, James, build a song list for our wedding for pre-ceremony, ceremony, cocktail hour, reception, and dancing. There were multiple places where we weren't quite sure what song to go with. With his experience and after his few in-person meetings with us, he recommended a few songs that were popular for a particular moment (e.g. entrance song) while being mindful of personal fit. For the slideshow, Ryan rented us a high quality screen and projector for a very fair price. We called a few other places that charge at least $300+ and you have to schedule the pick-up and delivery, which is extra work you don't need. Also, we were pleasantly surprised to be hooked up to a mic during the ceremony along with the officiant. During the mayhem before the ceremony, Ryan just came by at the right time and setup the mic discretely into Young’s tux. With the music equipment, he said that he brings back up devices just in case anything fails during the wedding. This is always good to hear that your vendor is thinking about all the scenarios that could go wrong and plans for it. (2) SEAMLESS SETUP & FLAWLESS EXECUTIONWe were glad to see that Ryan came in about 4 hours before the wedding. He setup two full systems. One for ceremony / cocktail hour and one for the reception -- so that there was no lapse in music at the Argonaut hotel. During the wedding, we were actually very happy that Ryan hit ALL the transitions with the music flawlessly. We probably had like 30+ music transitions and Ryan caught it all. Sometimes we would stand to want to start the next piece (say the cake-cutting), and Ryan would notice and begin the transition. After the wedding, all my friends only had positive things to say about the music and DJ. There were no negative comments. Don't get stuck with a crappy DJ. (3) HIGHLY PERSONABLE & CAN WORK THE CROWDRyan is very easy to work with. We met with him 2 times in person and a few times over the phone. He'll provide structure to your discussions if you don't know where you want to take it. And he'll go at your own pace if you have ideas and plans already. We experienced both as he provided structure early on and we came in with some specific music ideas later on. During the wedding, Ryan took the mic and was great with the crowd. There are some DJs that sound creepy or say things that are somewhat awkward. This was not the case with Ryan. He knew how to work the crowd and be tactful in special moments. (4) GREAT DEAL IF YOU THINK ABOUT ALL THE HOURS PUT INIf you think about all hours that Ryan puts in from the initial meetings and conversations, music selection and compilation, working with the hotel to figure out logistics, setup and take-down, and not to mention during the wedding ... Ryan is working for a very fair hourly rate. Personally, we think he can and should charge more. Overall, we highly recommend Ryan and will be promoting him like crazy to all my friends. We’re one of the first of our friends to get married, so we look forward to seeing Ryan again at our friends' weddings.

Planning a wedding is never easy, but planning a semi-destination wedding is pretty painful. My husband and I reside in Southern California, live pretty busy lives, and got married at the InterContinental hotel in Monterey last month. As a result, most of my planning was done through emails and phone calls. The majority of my vendor decisions were based upon online reviews and simply, my gut instincts Unfortunately, my gut instincts did not serve me too well in many areas as there were an array of problems that arised on my wedding day. Fortunately, hiring Ryan (Mixter Li) as our DJ/MC was one of the few vendor decisions that I did get right. Thank goodness, as music was definitely one of our top priorities for our wedding. From the get go, Ryan was professional, patient, and flexible. I was wary in the beginning as I was with all my vendors since I was unable to meet them, but Ryan put my worries at ease. I had hired him about 6 months before our wedding and throughout that time, he was always very responsive to all my emails. Two days before our wedding when we were finally able to go up to the Bay Area, Ryan went out of his way to meet us in person to run through song choices and finalize details with us. The day of our wedding, despite all the problems I had encountered with my venue & wedding coordinator, Ryan did his best to keep the flow of the wedding going. He arrived on time and was with us for the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception. None of our guests noticed any hiccups throughout the day... probably because they were too busy dancing on the dancefloor! (I was sent several video clips after the wedding... and it really makes me happy to see all my guests -- young and old -- dancing and laughing the night away.) Several of my guests commented on how much they loved the music selection.I would definitely recommend Ryan for any event. He's professional, genuine, willing to listen, and will go above and beyond to make your event a memorable one.

Ryan did a great job at our wedding. He was easy to work with and able to take all of our song preferences and make it work seamlessly. We told him some of the artists (Jack Johnson, Jason Mraz, Michael Buble, etc…) we would like to be played during the dinner portion of the banquet and all the selections were spot on. A few guests commented on how they really liked the songs during the dinner time.We were also very happy with the open dance time. We didn’t opt for any of the fancy light options, but the basic colored light set-up worked out ok. Ryan did a great job with the dance music. We wanted him to play a mixture of oldies, old school funk, disco, 80’s pop during the first half. This was sort of an eclectic mix, but he really made it work. Guests of all ages and generations were able to enjoy the music playing. Later in the evening, he switched to some more current popular hip-hop and dance songs which the younger guests were able to appreciateOverall, we were very happy with the work Ryan did at our wedding and would highly recommend him.

My husband and I got married in June and hiring Ryan as our DJ was one of the best decisions we made. We were very careful in choosing our DJ as we had been to several weddings where the music was just horribly mixed or abruptly cut off. One DJ had even wired the system improperly and caused all the speakers and lights to blow out. No kidding... they were just plain horrible. So we wanted to take our time to hire someone who we could trust 100% to make the event flow smoothly and ensure our guests have a great time. Ryan delivered exactly that and we couldn't have been more thrilled.A friend introduced us to Ryan and we immediately got a great vibe when we met him. Ryan is extremely professional, punctual, and patient. At the same time, he is laid back and really easy to work with. He took the time to answer all our questions and even allowed us to come check out his gig at Fluid. When we heard him spin at the lounge, we were blown away by how well he could gauge the crowd and get them moving on the dance floor. During our sit down meeting, Ryan went over the different options and we opted to hire him for both the ceremony and reception. His rates are very fair and he even offered to download high quality songs from Itunes in cases where he didn't already have them. My husband and I worked on a list of songs for both events to give him an idea of the mood we were hoping to set. Ryan was entirely open to listen to our suggestions and feedback. He is also extremely prompt in responding to emails and phone calls. On the day of the wedding, Ryan and his right hand man showed up on time, dressed impeccably in suits, to set up the speakers and system in the courtyard for the wedding. Ryan was meticulous in strategically placing the speakers to ensure that they did not show up in our pictures. He kept the pre-ceremony music playing as the bridal party and my family took pictures. For the ceremony, I was also thrilled that Ryan had wireless microphones in place of bulky / hideous hand-held microphones that are normally passed around amongst the Officiant, bride, and groom. He even suggested that only the Officiant and my husband wear the mics on their lapel so that it wouldn't detract from my dress. Ryan also worked with my videographer to ensure that the sound would feed clearly into the videographer's system. After the ceremony, Ryan seamlessly transitioned into the Grand Ballroom as the guests enjoyed cocktail hour. He also set up the projector and screen for our slideshow as a last minute request. Throughout the night, Ryan served as the emcee and kept all the important events (first dance, speeches, cake cutting, etc.) flowing on time. Per our requests, he played classics from Frank Sinatra, Stevie Wonder, and Frankie Valli during dinner. When it came time for dancing, he kicked the night off with 80s (which we love) and ended the night with a few of the Top 40 songs. Out guests danced non-stop and did not want to clear the dance floor when the party had to come to an end. We received non-stop compliments on how great the music was and how smoothly the event went, and it was all thanks to Ryan. I look forward to throwing another big bash (perhaps the hubby's birthday one year), so I can work with Ryan again. Do yourself a favor-- hire Ryan and feel 100% confident that your guests will have an awesome time and that your wedding day will go as planned, if not better!

Choosing Ryan as our wedding DJ was the smartest decision my husband and I made. We had no worries or any doubts about Ryan. After our initial meeting, we completely trusted him to give us the party we wanted. Throughout the whole process, Ryan remained professional, patient and responsive to our inquiries. His lighting created an intimate, yet elegant feel to the otherwise plain looking restaurant. The music was AMAZING! The dance floor was completely packed the entire night. From the two year olds to the 70 year olds, the dance floor was never empty. He played music that attracted both the older crowd and the younger party crowd. I had to stop dancing because there was barely any room left on the dance floor! I let my guests take over because that is what I wanted- for my guests to have a fantastic time. My guests who were also raving about the music. Not only was I happy, but my guests were happy too. Ryan said to me that you want to play music that your guests want to hear. Trust him on this. Ryan knows what he is doing. He knows what works and what doesn't. He knows how to get people out of their seats and onto the dance floor. He knows how to make people have a good time. If you want to check one more thing off your very long to do list, choose Ryan as your wedding DJ. It's a simple choice because he is such a fantastic person to work with and his talent will make your wedding a night to remember.

Mixter Li ( Ryan ) was the DJ as well as MC for my wedding last month at the ABC Seafood Restaurant. He was very professional, easy to work with, experienced, and helped to make our wedding memorable. Ryan was on time and fully equipped with uplights, intelligent lighting, microphones, etc. The lighting services really complimented the restaurant/ decorations and sound quality was excellent. I provided him with a list of songs requested from my guests and he made sure to not only play the songs but changed it up accordingly and mixed them so that they flowed together. He also checked with me to see if he had the right versions of the songs and downloaded them if needed. The guests were LOVIN’ the music because the dance floor was PACKED all night! They did the conga line and ALL the elders were on their feet! Ryan played a variety of music for all age groups from the 80’s, hip hop, old skool, R&B, alternative, and high energy. I got great feedback from everyone and they were raving on how much fun they had! I would definitely recommend Mixter Li for any event!

My wife and I used Mixter Li (aka Ryan) for our wedding last month at Terra Gallery in SF and we couldn't be happier with the job he did. We had specific ideas about the music we wanted played during the different stages of the event (ceremony, cocktails, dancing, etc.) and Ryan took the time to meet with us several times to make sure that we were happy with what he put together. He has a great selection of music that caters to all age groups and was even willing to purchase any music we requested that he didn't have in his collection. After the event, we had numerous attendees compliment us the music saying they enjoyed ALL of the music that was played.Throughout the whole process Ryan was extremely professional and always responded to our queries in a timely manner. Overall, the service provided was top notch. If you're searching for a DJ for an event, we highly recommend talking to Mixter Li! Also, ask him about his lighting setup!!! He did the lighting for our wedding as well and it looked AMAZING!!!

he's done several of my friends' weddings and always gets great reviews. he is very experienced and offers couples suggestions on music, as well as logisitcal issues. he brings all his own equipment and is always on-time. he's professional, yet very fun and knows how to get people on their feet. Mixter Li also works with a select group of other DJs in case you have a large event or a harder to navigate venue.

DJ Ryan was awesome for my 10.17.09 wedding. The fact is: I am an unorganized bride. Ryan was professional throughout the whole process and used multiple forms of communication methods to reach me to ensure I had the perfect music and ambiance for our wedding.
The venue was held at the Palm Event Center in Pleasanton and Ryan worked closely with my coordinator to ensure he had the proper equipment and followed venue restrictions as well. Two days before the wedding, I forgot to mention that I was doing a Korean tea ceremony. I shot him a quick email and he was able to find me the perfect Korean music to play during the ceremony. He showed up to my wedding venue early and did his setups quickly. All our guests were thoroughly entertained throughout the night and even my 80 year old Aunties and Uncles had to get up and dnace!
I would totally recommend Ryan for all future events.

Ryan was one of the 1st vendors we booked when we started wedding planning. Once we secured him, there wasn’t much that we needed to go over right away. However, a few months before our date, some things changed with our plans. I needed to contract more services from Ryan – namely providing music for our ceremony as well as set-up the uplights that I had purchased. This wasn’t a problem for him at all – he was glad to do it.
We were the first couple to get married on the grand staircase at our venue. Since my event manager, DOC and I were unsure about acoustics and sound, we asked Ryan to come out to our Rehearsal. He gladly obliged and came early so he could set up some equipment. He also talked with the event manager & DOC to discuss set-up of the chairs so he could strategize the best location for his speakers.
On the day of, Ryan was prompt. He was professionally dressed and the set-up went smoothly. He was ready ahead of time and made the transition to the reception seamlessly. Once the reception program ended and the dancing begun, Ryan played a wide variety of music. He started off with some oldies (per our request) and then transitioned to more recent music. The dance floor was full all night – and we had 3+ hours of dancing so that’s saying a lot! Everyone from my 5 year old flower girl to my parents had a blast!!! He took requests from our guests, did a little MC-ing and kept the party lively. Everyone was raving about my DJ – even my parents couldn’t stop talking about how good the music was.
If we had another event, we’d hire Ryan in a heartbeat. He was very professional, prompt with email correspondence and encouraged a lot of communication. When I’d forget to respond to his emails, he’d ping me again in a few days just to make sure I didn’t drop the ball. He has his own equipment - speakers, mics, wires, etc … and now he even has uplights. You can tell he takes great pride in his work. I’d recommend him to any bride that asked me for a DJ referral.

Ryan did a fantastic job for our wedding on 8-22-09 at Piedmont Community Church. (125 people) He was really easy to work with and just fun all around.
Ryan made the music from start to finish really flow well...there were no awkward pauses or bad songs where the dance floor cleared. He gave us great suggestions for songs and accommodated our list of kind of random music selections. You know the music is great when the mother of the bride decides to ditch the gown midway through the reception and change into shorts to break it down. (and following that lead, the bride's sister did the same) His music inspired a fun constant group on the dance floor including an impromptu break dance contest.
We got tons of compliments on the music and we barely lifted a finger. Ryan was the best dj and i highly recommend him. On the technical side, he's super responsive and responsible, has great equipment, and setup and breakdown went without a hitch at a venue he had never played. Sound quality was excellent.

We found Ryan on projectwedding and absolutely loved his sample mixes that were on his website. They were ten times better than any other mixes i've heard (wedding and non-wedding included). We scheduled a meeting, and were very impressed with his professionalism when we first interviewed him. He was also friendlier and much more accommodating than other DJs we interviewed. His pricing was very reasonable. In the months leading up to the wedding, Ryan was very patient with us as we asked questions about the playlist, lighting, and suggestions for the cake cutting, mother-son dance, etc. If he didn't have a requested song in his library, he would get it for us. On the wedding day, he was set-up on time (possibly early -- I didn't have a chance to see), and was dressed professionally. He asked me a minimal amount of questions, which I appreciated very much! The music during dinner was timed perfectly - songs faded in when no one was talking, and quickly faded out as soon as someone picked up the microphone. I loved how much attention he paid to this -- it really makes a difference in keeping the party flowing. The dance floor was packed within 5 minutes of when the dancing portion of the evening began. Our friends love great music, and they all had a blast, singing along and breaking out some great moves. Even my parents and almost-80-year-old grandma made it out on the floor for a little bit! Ryan also made a big effort to play a lot of requests - our friends had generated quite a long list before the wedding day. After the wedding, a lot of guests mentioned what a great time they had and how they wished the evening didn't end so soon. Everyone had a great time on the dance floor, and I couldn't have asked for a better DJ. I would definitely recommend Ryan to anyone who asked for DJ suggestions.

Ryan is awesome! He is very professional, organized and trustworthy. We contracted Ryan for our wedding (08.01.09) and the constant full dance floor said it all. We provided Ryan was a minimal song list and left the rest up to him. And a good thing we did because the mix was perfect.
Ryan came highly recommend by a friend and I highly recommend his services as well. =)

DJ Mixter Li contributed to our July 3rd reception being a complete success! We booked him because he came highly recommended and he was the DJ for a couple of weddings that we have attended.
We held a local (250 guests) reception at Dynasty Restaurant in Cupertino after our wedding in Maui. We left the playlist up to him because after our Maui wedding, we didn’t have much time to compile another playlist. Our previous playlist consisted of Hawaiian tunes, which didn’t quite match our formal banquet. So we just gave him a general guideline of slow, romantic music during dinner and the music for dancing was up to his discretion. He's quite experienced and provided helpful suggestions and made sure to ask us what we wanted for our first dance, cake cutting, etc. The music transitioned wonderfully from dinner to dancing.
The coordinator at Dynasty told us we should provide our own sound equipment because their speakers weren’t the best quality. Luckily our DJ had all of the equipment and he arrived super early to set up the speakers and microphones. We didn’t have to worry about anything. The sound quality was perfect.
We loved the way the dancing flowed – from the fun oldies music in the beginning to the latest party/ hip-hop music at the end. He was very flexible with requests from our guests and incorporated those requests into the flow of the music flawlessly. He kept the dance floor full the entire night with everyone of all ages. He did a great job with reading the crowd. When he noticed a bunch of late 20-somethings hovering near the dance floor, he played some late 80s/ early 90s music (i.e. New Kids on the Block) to get them onto the dance floor.
We highly recommend him and he was worth every penny!

DJ Ryan Li was recommended to us by a friend. He worked with us to create a list of songs that would be played at the wedding. The day of the wedding, he came early to prepare and setup. DJ Li never left his station the whole night He did a great job! I would definitely recommend him to anybody.

Ryan did an absolutely AMAZING job for our wedding 7/26/09!!!
Casa Real is a fairly large venue, so we were nervous about sound, but Ryan brought all of his equipment during rehearsal the day before to make sure everything would be ready the day of - and it was!! Ceremony sound was perfect - even those at the very back of the venue could hear everything loudly and clearly. Reception sound was just as good! Toasts were heard loud and clear, and he also listened to all of our song requests and put together an awesome playlist that got everyone dancing the whole night!
DJ Mixter Li stayed professional but personable the entire time I interacted with him. I would recommend him to another bride in a heartbeat, and he was worth every singe penny!

Mixter Li DJ'd my wedding last summer and he did an awesome job. He was recommended to us by a friend, and my wife and I have no regrets on choosing Mixter Li. The music was great throughout the day. I didn't want to think too much about the setlist and instructed him to play love / romantic songs during the dinner and have a mix of hip hop, dance hits, pop and 80's music for the dancing afterwards. The music was a blast as shown by the packed dance floor. Additionally, he is very professional. He showed up early to set up. Worked to get the AV equipment up and running and made sure mic and slideshow were synced into his speakers. All around great job and was one of our best vendors.

Ryan did an exceptional job on my 7.26.08 wedding. I think that he did such a great job that I have decided to write a review for him a year after my wedding. I have to say that he did make my wedding a very memorable experience- I have never seen my dad dance. The fact that he was on the dance floor towards the end of the wedding made me feel that Ryan is a DJ that is able to choose music that appeals to everyone.
Thanks Ryan for being so professional as well as personable. You made my husband and I extremely happy.

We spoke to several DJ's when we searched for a DJ for our wedding. We decided to go with Mixter Li because he seemed professional, easy to work with, and had the best sample CD. It turned out to be a great decision. He was timely and responsive in our pre-wedding meetings. On our big day, he was extremely pleasant to work with, and he played great music! I would recommend him without reservation.

Ryan Li did an amazing job for my wedding (07.07.07) and I highly recommend him to anyone for their parties. He is very professional and courteous. His equipment are well maintained, and his wide variety of music is organized and up to date. He is also punctual which is so important for events. He was meticulous of how he put his equipment away showing he takes pride in what he does. My wedding reception banquet site was huge and with his own equipment he was able to create great sound quality. He helped me figure out music selections and played everything as scheduled. He worked with the site coordinator to handle logistics. I trust him and would use him again for future events.

Mixter Li was by far one of my favorite vendors at my wedding in 2006. He was diligent, responsive and completely professional. He accomodates a wide selection of music and brings a wealth of experience playing at wedding venues. He has a good feel for the crowd and his upbeat attitude easily motivated even my most conservative guests to come to the dance floor (my 80-year old grandpa danced too!) My wedding photographer emailed me afterwards just to comment on how "smooth his transitions" were and asked for his contact info. Mixter Li was the first to show up and the last to leave...very responsible and trustworthy. Highly recommended!

He offers help with music selection and will give clients guidance on ways to keep their guests entertained. Ryan offers a variety of quality audio and visual services and equipment, including lighting and a projector.
Look to Ryan for your music and lighting needs. He will take good care of you and keep your guests on their feet.
Ryan is a well experienced, professional, and professional. He has a strong ability for selecting music that pleases the client and their guests. As an MC, he knows what to say and when to say it. As wedding coordinaters, we appreciate his willingness to work with us on schedule changes and spontaneous requests. All in all, he is a pleasure to work with and you will not be disappointed.
