MN Bridal Makeup did my friend's wedding 2 years ago - Sarah, the company owner, did both my makeup (I was MOH) and the bride's. She did a truly outstanding job on both of us, so I emailed her to inquire about hiring her for my wedding next year.
Unfortunately, I found her customer service skills to be *horrible*. Getting my questions answered was like pulling teeth, so we had to exchange quite a few emails. When I finally got enough information to make the decision to hire her, she sent me a contract. Luckily I asked her to clarify a few points, because I then found out that she had misled me on a few very key details that I had made clear were important to me.
Whether or not it was intentional, I didn't appreciate the way she handled our conversations. Her attitude ranged from curt to defensive, and from her lack of response to my voiced disappointment (which was direct but very polite), it is clear to me that she doesn't need my business or good opinion.
I am not about to hand over a pricey contract to someone who can't answer my questions in a straight-forward, friendly manner, and who doesn't at least pretend that she's interested in ensuring customer satisfaction. She's good at what she does, but not THAT good, so I'll be going elsewhere for my hair and makeup.

This was one of my favorite parts of the wedding, being made all pretty by a professional. The thing about the Artistry is that they come on site, but it’s very expensive if it’s just for the bride. It’s more for all the bridesmaids and the bride to have their make-up done, which makes it feel more like a special day. I had already been in one wedding in 2008 where a make-up artist from the Artistry was present, and she did an amazing job. Excellent time management skills, too, and she helped us keep on schedule. There’s also the option of having your hair done, which I did, and I think for the price it’s really great. Thousands were being spent on this wedding, I wanted to make sure that my face and make-up and hair matched the atmosphere I was creating.

I know how to put on make-up, but I don’t know what to do with my hair. I usually just put it up in a bun and leave it at that. I wanted help with how I looked on the big day, so I got the number of Bridal Artistry through a co-worker who had just gotten married. I set up a consultation, and explained what I wanted and what my dress looked like. Because of the location, I wanted to look very clean and fresh, but something more fancy than the bun I normally have. The consultation was $80, but really helpful because they got to see my skin and hair, as well as my mother and best friend. They told me that my wedding party needed to be a minimum of three, so my best friend offered to get her make-up done for the day even though she wasn’t a bridesmaid, as did my mom. I think the biggest change and surprise of the day was how stunning my mother looked! She looked years younger, and so fresh! I had never seen her wear make-up, and since my wedding she’s been wearing eyeliner and a bit of blush. It was worth it!

I went to Sarah for spray-tan for my wedding and she did great! I don't generally get very tan so I was worried about looking washed out in my pictures, but it looked very natural. The only thing I would say is that it's $50 bucks per application and at least for me, it did not last long....so I thought it was worth it, but I really only got about 2 good tan days before it really faded and on the 3rd was back to normal. I didnt have any streaking problems or anything and I thought it was really nice, and Sarah is GREAT to work with. I would just say the price is a little high for only one day-but what isn't when it comes to weddings???! :)
