Mode Wedding Photographers
Bill and Erin are amazing! They were always very responsive to my wants, needs and multitude of questions. The engagement session was amazing, we went to our favorite places and hung out just like we were on a double date. This helped both my husband and I (who are NOT picture people) relax and enjoy the photo session. They take wonderful pictures and are great at getting that candid shot you'll cherish forever, when you didn't even know they where there. They were the perfect addition to our wedding and you will be so glad you invited them to be a part of yours as well.
Bill & Erin are amazing to work with! From the planning process through the big day, they were so kind & helpful. During the wedding they weren't obtrusive at all - don't you hate going to weddings where the photographers are constantly in the way? They kept to the timeline & got all of the formal family/wedding party shots done with time to spare. Have I mentioned how talented they are? We took pictures in an average looking parking lot & they turned out amazing!
They plugged in an SD card of our engagement shots into the digital frame our venue has. They even setup their laptop with a slideshow of a few of the pictures they took earlier in the day. How cool is that!?
We are so excited to see the pictures of our wedding because we know they will be amazing!
A few years ago my daughters were looking through my niece's engagement photos done by Bill and Erin/Mode Wedding Photography, ended up looking through their website and falling in love with the artistry and uniqueness of the pictures. Both decided to get married this summer, and both considered no one but Mode.
I'm only going to write this on behalf of the younger daughter, because the other prefers to write her own review. The younger daughter and her fiance were not as comfortable with pictures of themselves as the elder pair. They had a great time with Bill and Erin, though, and enjoyed their personable approach to the session. The couple still had little confidence in their own photogenic qualities and were uncertain if even Bill and Erin could get great pics of them. They were so happy to discover their doubts were unfounded! They had such giddy and pleased looks on their faces when they sat in Bill's and Erin's living room, having their viewing session, and loving each and every picture. The love and joy they feel for each other really showed through the photos, and they were all so natural.
The kids were thrilled to show the online slideshow Erin designed for them to family and friends. Bill and Erin provided a computer file of the pics to show on a big screen slide show and ordered prints with very short notice to use in frames, both for use at the reception.
For the big day, Bill and Erin were there from the moment we started wedding prep. They asked what we had in mind for photos and made suggestions for things we wouldn't have thought of. They fit into the activities without drawing attention to themselves or interfering with normal movements...In other words we could just continue with dressing, makeup, chatter between us, etc. without feeling odd or like someone was in the way, but they're still right there with the right angle to capture the emotions and little looks.
Their expertise with wedding events gave us a feeling of confidence as they helped keep things going, offering reminders, support, and encouragement, as necessary. They were always pleasant and smiling. They add a calm to the day, never making the bride or others feel rushed or pushed, but being sure to keep things on schedule. They even helped manage a guest, who thought she should be more involved in the more private parts of the wedding than we wanted, but did it in a way that we weren't troubled and the guest was never offended.
The photo book (another thing specially designed by Erin) used in lieu of a guest book is a great idea. It allows people to write message and good wishes, not just their name and address.
It amazes me how much time Bill and Erin spend with clients, putting them at ease and getting to know them, so the pictures reflect special moments and priorities. Like their website says, being best friends in love, they understand best friends in love, and it comes through in the way they treat the couples and the way the photos turn out.
Can I just start off by saying......KUDOs to the dynamic duo! Bill and Erin (Mode Weddings) did a phenomenal job on my 20th Wedding Anniversary Renewal.
My husband and I got married 20 years ago but never had a wedding. We never really had any photos taken of each other or family and now I can finally say we were truly blessed to have had MODE WEDDINGS as our photographers.
The day was very special and we had so much family from out of town and frineds that they caught every moment. They not only caught every element of our weddind but also was there for our rehearsal.
Bill and Erin's eye for that perfect moment is by far the best I've ever seen.
You have fans for life and I look forward to sending everyone your way.
You two are simply the best!

We had Mode Weddings do our wedding day and it couldn't have been more PERFECT! They did such a GREAT job of capturing all the most precious moments and being so easy to work with. They were fun and made the day so much more relaxed and easy. We couldn't be more impressed with how well our pictures turned out and will be referring them to anyone having a wedding! If you're still debating on who you want to do your pictures...definitely go with Mode...you will not be disappointed! :)
My husband and I, who were paying for about 85% of the wedding ourselves, were on a strict budget. We spent a large portion of our budget on Mode and could not have been happier. They were hands down the best vendors we had. We first met Bill and Erin in 2008 when we flew from our hometown of Kansas City, MO to Olympia, WA for my aunt's wedding. When we got engaged, they were willing (and eager!) to fly out to photograph our wedding. They went above and beyond most photographers I've heard of.
The first thing that makes them a great vendor is that they set aside the entire day for your wedding. Other photographers only give you 4- or 6-hour time slots, then charge extra if you want them to stay later than that. It is difficult to find photographers who will be devoted to you and your guests the entire day for the same price.
The second thing that makes them a great vendor is how much they enjoy their jobs. You can tell that photography is their passion, and it really makes the day relaxed when the photographer is having a good time. They were never pushy to get the "right" photo; they just stayed in the background and photographed our day like it was a story unfolding.
A unique thing about Mode is that, in my opinion, their best shots are the candid shots. They are awesome at posed shots as well, but our very favorite shots from the wedding were the unexpected ones. They caught our guests in the act of simply enjoying themselves.
I know that the price of their albums may seem a little high, but it will be well worth your money. First of all, the album itself is of the highest quality. You can tell that it will last for many years to come. Second of all, Bill and Erin are masters are putting together the story of your wedding. At least for our wedding, our album was laid out as a story of pictures. They started out with pictures of us setting up the venue, then of us getting ready, of the ceremony, and ended with the reception. I feel like our future kids will be able to look at our wedding album and feel like they were there. It takes a good photographer to spend that much time editing. They really saved us a huge headache by laying out the album for us. We only made a few changes to the layout they proposed.
Mode will also get your photos to you in only two weeks' time. Two weeks! Most of my friends' photographers got their photos to them in 3 months. They also offered a package that allowed us rights to print their photos, which I know many photographers don't offer. Since we've had Mode participate in our wedding, we've made some lifelong friends of Bill and Erin. They are both just so sweet and helpful! A few months into the wedding planning process, they sent me a bar of chocolate and note that said they hoped I wasn't too stressed out with the wedding and work. Simple touches like that set them above other vendors. In the future I will try to find another excuse to fly them out to Kansas because, to us, no other photographer will do.
The 5 stars should actually be 10's for Mode photographers Bill & Erin. From the second you meet them, they do everything they can to make you feel like your wedding day is their focus. We spent a few hours and dinner with them in the Olympia area for our Engagement pictures a couple of months before the wedding. The pictures were awesome and we couldn't wait to show them off. We didn't want to do one of the signature only guest books or a picture frame, so we ordered an engagment signing book from them. It has 22 of our favorite pictures with room for people to leave us notes at the wedding. Great idea! We talked to them occasionally before the wedding and it was always so easy to talk to them. We really felt that they knew exactly what we wanted and would be awesome. They met my bridesmaid's and I at the salon we had our hair and makeup done at the morning of the wedding - those were some cute moments they captured. They were with us all day, and I mean all day! Right up until we left our reception at 8pm they took pictures. Our friends and family all complimented them and said they were very nice and you couldn't even tell they were there! Our gallery that's up now looks awesome and we can't wait to get these in print. We have friends that paid twice what we did and our pictures truly tell the story of our day! Please book Mode for your wedding, they are awesome and will NOT disappoint!
