Amanda and the team at Modern Day Floral were marvelous in preparing an amazing, elegant and stylish wedding event; all in a short period of time. Our wedding and reception were held in the Cygnus 27 Sky Rooms and Pinnacle Room atop the Amyway Grand Plaza Hotel in downtown Grand Rapids. The flowers and decor designed by MDF for the wedding service, the champagne reception, the dinner service, and the dessert and coffee hour in this intimate setting were nothing short of exceptional. The very professional service and support also was much appreciated. We remained an integral part of the process, yet felt confident that the team would deliver a truly memorable event. Jenn and her team were phenomenal! Jenn planned every aspect of our wedding - she found and coordinated with all of the vendors and designed the most gorgeous room we've ever seen! Beyond the flowers being stunning, the details in the room, in the church and at the cocktail hour were what really made the wedding special. Jenn really wanted to get to know our style and was really focused on making the wedding "feel like us." She even took inspiration from a lamp that we had in our apartment! I can't say enough good things about Jenn's creativity and design - any bride would be lucky to work with her!

Jenn is the most amazing person in the wedding industry that you will ever meet. I met Jenn two years before our wedding and started planning. I wouldn’t say I am the easiest person to plan with, but she was SO good with me. I changed my look, colors, design, venue, and flowers a few times and she stuck through it all! She ended up becoming not only our event designer but really our wedding planner. We were so lucky to have Jenn to lean on for support and guide us through the wedding planning process. Our day was beyond our wildest dreams. Everything I wanted she got me; from peonies from Holland because they were out of season here, to a few days before when I decided I wanted Gardena’s in my bouquet, she followed through on everything. Jenn and her team should review nothing but 5/5 for each and every review. Her heart and soul is in her work and she is 100% dedicated to her clients. Even though she has ten other brides she may be working with all at once, she makes you feel like you are the only one. She did COUNTLESS meetings, phone calls, even when she was on vacation in Costa Rica she skyped us to check in! I would strongly suggest using Jenn for more than just flowers and rentals on your big day. The additional planning services she offers will not disappoint! We not only used Modern Day Floral for our wedding day, but for our rehearsal/dinner too. Jenn was there with her team early in the morning the day of the wedding, timeline in hand and the day ran SO smooth because of her. The design of our ceremony and reception spaces was gorgeous! I would recommend Modern Day Floral and Events in a heartbeat! Jen made us feel so relaxed and stress free on our big day, and went above and beyto make us happy. Even in the 104 degree heat she was throwing over 700 cushions off the church benches for us just because I didn’t like the color. I will be use them on many future birthdays, dinner parties, baby showers, you name it Modern Day Floral will be involved! XO

I can't say enough good things about Modern Day! They did all the flowers for our wedding this past weekend at the Grand Rapids Art Museum and they were magnificent. I loved my bouquet...it was so fresh and pretty. I really recommend giving them the latitude to do their thing - they are experts in all things floral and, hey, that's what you hire them for, right? They knew generally what I liked, my budget and colors and the results far exceeded my expectations.

I worked with Jen and Erin to create the bouquets, boutineers, and corsages for our wedding. They did a fabulous job of bringing my vision to life. Perfect!

Jenn of MDF is incredibly creative and talented. She made my wedding so beautiful, it was my dream come true and it was perfect. Jenn walked through the reception site and came up with some of the greatest ideas, draping in an alcove for the deserts with 3 chandeliers, a beautiful unique head table design, beautiful table linens and absolutely beautiful centerpieces and an out of this world bouquet for me. I had a guest tell me they had attended weddings where $100,000+ had been spent that was not as beautiful as my wedding. Jenn also designed my ceremony site including a chuppah, all of which where also beautiful. I could not have asked for a more beautiful wedding. There was a point in the process where I felt Jenn should have been more responsive, but she more than made up for it in her generosity and creativity. I am a planner from California. I discovered Moder Day Floral in a magazine and gave Jeniffer Ederer a call. From the moment she answered my call I knew she was listening to me.

Since the wedding was in Michigan and I was in California we were faced with challenges upfront. That did not stop Jennifer, on our first meeting she came with samples and a big note pad ready and willing to help me get my wedding together.

Jen, Erin and the rest of the team did an amazing job! I'm someone that isn't very creative, but they were able to take the few ideas that I had and make our wedding flowers absolutely beautiful. If you're comparing prices, they are a little higher than others, but I found it worth it for the service that they provided.

I absolutely adored my flowers and centerpieces! Jenn and the Modern Day team were so great to work with. We met with Jenn and she instantly "got us" and our vision for our day. She had so many great ideas which really put our look over the edge to give us a unique, but classic feel. I never once worried about our flowers. My bouquet was more stunning than I even imagined and it was huge! It was just breathtaking!!! Every detail turned out perfect, and you can tell how passionate Jenn is about everything that she does. In addition to the gorgeous flowers they used, it was just so easy to communicate with them. They worked with our budget, but either way Modern Day was worth every penny!

Jen is an artist, pure and simple. I have minimal design instincts and am not a super-traditional kind of lady, nor is my husband, but Jen listened to my (limited) ideas and in minutes whipped up a sample centerpiece that I loved. I didn't know I could have such strong reaction to a centerpiece! Our venue had a beautiful flower garden, so we didn't require much in the way of blooms, but Jen did wonderful things with candles and hurricane vases. It was very modern and fresh, and fit the spirit of our wedding.

Modern Day Floral is one of the top boutiques in Grand Rapids, so it was a little hard to get in touch, but that was my only complaint. I should add that they never tried to up-sell me, and once we agreed on a budget they were very conscientious about making sure we got the most bang for our buck.

Modern Day Floral did a beautiful job on my bouquets, corsages, boots, decor at the church and centerpieces at the reception. They are so creative and really took the time to get to know me and my wedding style.
We got to go in ahead of time for a rendering to see exactly how the centerpieces would look.

The Modern Day Floral team did a great job on decorating our wedding. They took care of everything from the ceremony decor to making our reception hall look Amazing! We would definitely recommend them to anyone!

Modern Day completely understood my vision. I liked that they could show me their ideas instead of just describing them to me. I had the peace of mind of knowing everything would be perfect and just how I imagined it on my wedding day, a feeling I didn't have with the other florists that I had considered and one that I found to be priceless. In addition to their creative talent, Modern Day also has the business side down, another quality I found lacking in many others. They were organized, available, and professional. They also handled problems extremely well. I forgot to order a corsage for a stepmother, and they were able to whip one up and have it to the church before the ceremony started. I am convinced that my wedding day was as spectacular as it was due to the vendors I chose. Modern Day is all around fabulous and impressive!

First of all, I was truly impressed that Modern Day Floral was able to work our wedding in to their schedule. I planned our wedding in eight weeks and despite the short time frame, along with the company having another major event that day, they were happy to take on our business.

Secondly, when my mother and I met with Jennifer, I was immediately confident in her ability to provide us what we needed in the budget we needed to make it happen in. She has great suggestions and ideas that complimented the vision we had in mind.

And finally, the product we got on the day of the wedding was beyond spectacular. The decorating of the event space was stunning, the flowers elegant, and my boquet was sensational. It was just a perfect day and they were a perfect group of people to work with. I hands-down recommend this business to any bride!

I will refer Modern Day Floral until I am blue in the face. Jennifer, along with the entire staff, created the atmosphere for the most perfect day of my life. As I run into guests of our wedding, consistenly, the first thing out of their mouth is "The flowers were amazing."

I didnt even need a wedding coordinator because of all the great service provided. my bouquets were stunning....big, luscious, and beautiful. my linens were crisp, and the tables were set perfectly.

My experience with Modern Day Floral was amazing! Modern Day is, hands down, the most up-to-date, style savvy florist in Grand Rapids! My experience started off with a VERY nice consultation with the owner, Jennifer Ederer, and her ideas where endless. She was so inspiring and helpful... I didn't know if my budget was going to allow me to have the type of wedding I truly dreamed of having, but she showed me so many different ways to make it all possible! My wedding was GORGEOUS and looking back now I realize how lucky I was to have her there to help me. The floral arrangements where so full, dramatic and beautiful, they made my wedding look like a high-end event. My bouquets were also so pretty! Plus, Jennifer rented me gorgeous linens and chivari chairs. All that stuff made a world of difference, helping me go from a "nice wedding" to a full on elegant, formal affair.

I originally was going to Andicott for my flowers but when they shut down, I went into Modern Day. I went to Andicott because I thought I could save money by having my bridesmaids and I arrange our own stuff, but after meeting with Jennifer I saw my style go from DIY to a high-end look, and the price was almost the SAME! It was really shocking to realize how much money I was spending at Andicott just for product alone. My advice to brides is to check out Modern Day because they do an amazing job and they really work with any budget! My husband and I STILL can't get over how beautiful our wedding turned out! Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, to all the lovely ladies at Modern Day that made my day more than I could have ever hoped for!!!!

I used Modern Day for the personal flowers only. They turned out beautifully and I was very happy with how creative they were in planning the arrangements. I loved the magnetic boutonnieres since I am no good at pinning. They also did a nice job labeling everything, delivering on time, and giving directions to make sure the flowers look their best all day.

During my wedding planning, they were going through a lot of growth, which caused some slow response times and a few mistakes due to training of new staff. After getting through those hiccups, everything worked out just fine.

Emily was wonderful and I was able to get a lot more planning and responsiveness from her as opposed to trying to work with the owner (Jenn) as I was advised to do originally.

We also rented a cake stand from Modern Day that was beautiful and they had it polished very nicely for us.

The owner and staff at modern day floral were extremely accommodating, flexible to meet with me and of course exceeded expectations we had for our "big day". I was planning from out of town so the staff didn't just take care of my floral needs, but took my wedding/reception decor to the next level by meeting with linen vendors, the event coordinators for our church and reception and made many other exceptional suggestions ( which i took ). Honestly, I wanted someone I could trust to do everything I asked and fill in the areas I forgot about or was unfamiliar with and MDF took that role, while offering us stunning arrangements that our friends and family are still mentioning to this day.

Modern Day Floral was fabulous-I never thought I would be able to have all of my flowers INCLUDING CENTERPIECES done within my very low budget and Jenn and her staff were able to make it happen. They also dealt with last minute add-ons gracefully and did a gorgeous job on our flowers. They were one of my very favorite vendors to work with and I highly recommend them.

Great consultation visit five weeks before our event. Very knowledgable florists and designers with a passion for beauty and creativity. Highly disappointed with the multiple phone calls and emails it required to receive our estimate two weeks before the date of our event. We had friends that warned us that MDF was very disorganized, although the resulting product is amazing. One friend provided us with the owner's personal cell phone number to contact her when we weren't receiving responses to our questions because herself and other's had been in the same situation we had discovered. MDF quickly cashed our deposit within five hours of receiving it, so no problem there. In the end MDF's work was beautiful and worth the financial expense, but the hassle and stress involved with actually becoming a client was not worth recommending in the future.

Every bride has their wedding day planned early on in life. The dress, the flowers, sometimes even location.... but nothing really makes that dream a reality like your flowers and decor. Modern Day Floral did that for me. Every detail down to the pearls in my bouquet were noted. They really took the time to get to know me, my personality and style, and take note of every detail to visualize my dream wedding. After my consultation I felt at ease knowing that the people at MDF were as passionate about my wedding as I was. Every piece of my arrangements were custom designed and totally unique, I loved it because it set my wedding apart from all the others and the guest who attended my wedding all took notice! Jennifer even ordered linens and chair covers to give the venue the romantic look I was going for. She went above and beyond. I am STILL hearing how beautiful my flowers and decor were and I've been married for 2 months! I am extremely happy with how everything turned out, and feel they were very organized, professional, and the price was right.
So... to any brides looking for a florist, call Jennifer @ Modern Day! I promise you, you will get that wedding you have been dreaming of!

We love what Modern Day did for us. They turned a not so beautiful venue into a gorgeous Japanese garden! The only downfall is that it was hard to get in contact with the vendor at times. This added some unneeded stress to the wedding day, but I still highly recommend their services.

Honestly, the second I walked into Modern Day Floral and saw the designs Jennifer had created, I knew it was the perfect fit for my wedding day. I tend to be very picky about details and she was a very detail-oriented person which I loved, and because I lived in New York City for a while and worked in special event planning, I thought I would never find such a talented florist in Grand Rapids like the ones I was used to seeing in the city, so I was obviously thrilled when I met Jennifer! I wanted something beautiful, dynamic and completely unique to my style and she exceeded my expectations above and beyond! She was very flexible with my budget too, so I felt relieved to know that right from the start. The entire staff was very friendly which was nice because it made me feel all the more comfortable with hiring them to do my wedding. All the guests at my wedding were raving about how gorgeous the arrangements were, and my table linens made such an impact! I can't even describe how it felt to walk into my wedding reception and see how beautiful everything looked! :)

I completely agree with LaurelJean, I have been dreaming about my wedding for so long and I am so lucky for it to have turned out the way it did! Obviously I hit some bumps in the road while planning my wedding, but I just rolled with things and trusted that my vendors were professionals and would do their jobs (they totally did by the way, and a quick side note - besides a great florist, I also recommend getting a really good photographer because I look at my photos all the time and I just love them!). So anyway, based on my experience, I really have to disagree with Liz's comments. It's pretty unfair because you said that you went in 5 WEEKS before your wedding???? Not to be offensive, but if you wait until 5 weeks before your wedding to book ANY vendor, you are pretty lucky to get anyone at all. There is a reason people get engaged a year in advanced, it takes a long time to plan a wedding. So in all honesty, it kind of sounds like a lack of responsibility on your part, not the vendors. Sorry to express such a strong opinion, its just I have worked in the event planning field so I pretty much can see what is a logical expectation to have and that comment just does not seem to add up to me. I mean, I completely understand that some people may not have much time to plan, and I can empathize with that situation because I am currently helping my best friend plan her wedding and she only has 5 months total! YIKES! So I can see how difficult it is, but in the end, that is definitely her and her fiance's choice and risk to take.

Anyway, I had such a great experience and if anyone feels that flowers are a very integral part of their wedding like I did and wants really gorgeous arrangements and wonderful, friendly service, I definitely recommend Modern Day Floral! Thanks again to them for all their hard work!!!!

I potentially could be one of Jenn's biggest fans. I am an event coordinator, and when it came time to plan my own wedding there was no question as to who to chose. I think I may have even asked her before I was engaged! I gave Jenn the briefest description of what I wanted and just let her do her thing. My reception was amazing...it exceeded my every expectation. There is no other florist that I have seen or worked with that has her vision and talent. To add to it, Jenn's just about the sweetest, and sassiest, thing out there! I recommend Jenn and her awesome team at Modern Day Floral for every wedding, and other event, I come in contact with...there is no second choice. And, if you are looking for a great band, Jenn also sings in this unbelievable 11 piece band...the dance floor was full my entire reception!
