Moon History of Complaints and Violations from June 2010 - February 2011

A very interesting compilation of complaints and violations against Paul and Heidi Moon and the Moon Mansion covering only 8 months. There would be pages more if these were all inclusive since November of 2009 when the illegal and non-permitted commercial events were first reported to DDES!

Upon entering this grand estate you will enter into the grand marble foyer with a double marble and iron staircase and hand cut imported crystal chandeliers. The mansion was designed with the vision of what every bride dreams of; a truly elegant and classical wedding.

The Moon Mansion opened its doors in June 2009 with the dream of providing the ultimate wedding location in the Puget Sound area.   Paul and Heidi Moon, the owners of the Moon Mansion, believe that your wedding day should truly be a day to remember for years to come. On your special day you will feel relaxed and at ease knowing that your special day will be the only event at the Moon Mansion and there will be no pressure to end your celebration with your family and friends.    The Moon Mansion offers overnight accommodations for the bridal party in one of five master bedrooms, three of which are bridal suites. You will feel at ease knowing that you can book your wedding venue in a classical mansion and awake in the morning knowing that every attention to detail will come to you.

The Moon Mansion works with highly sought after designers in the area who will come to the mansion to offer services such as decor, hair, makeup, nail, and massage on you special day.   You will feel no need to rush to different appointments. Our philosophy is that this is your day and we will pamper to all your needs and all of these services will be brought to you.

The Moon Mansion is a newly built classical Georgian style mansion. The luxurious interior was created to provide the ultimate setting for your wedding. The mansion is located on a private estate with a formal rose garden and views of Mt. Si.

The cost is determined by the day and time of the year your event takes place.

Do you offer any special services?

The owners of the Moon Mansion have worked closely with local vendors who will make your day truly memorable and we will refer those highly sought after vendors directly to you.

Do you offer any special packages for rehearsal dinners?

The Moon Mansion offers on site wedding rehearsal dinners for wedding parties large and small. We will work with you to provide a unique and delicious chef prepared dinner to satisfy your palate and make your dinner a memorable addition to your wedding.

Do you offer additional items for the ceremony?

At the Moon Mansion we believe every bride and groom have individual expectations of what they believe will make the perfect ceremony and reception. We have several items available for use by the wedding party.

Do you rent other items such as linens, tables, or flatware?

For this years 2010 wedding season the Moon Mansion is looking forward to working with off site catering companies. We will be providing necessary tables, chairs, and linens for your wedding guests. The catering company will need to provide necessary dishes and flatwear. We will work closely with your catering company to make sure that your reception is a memorable event.

What is your staff-to-guest ratio?

During your ceremony and reception the Moon Mansion will have a minimum of three on site staff available for your needs in addition to your catering and other wedding professionals on site.

Do you require clients to use a specific list of vendors?

Although we do not have a specific list you have to choose from we do offer a list of preferred vendors that we have worked with in the past and have had successful working relations with. We also only refer vendors who our brides and grooms rave about.

Do you require the client to use your musicians? If you do not require this, is that an additional fee to bring in one's own musicians?

The owners of the Moon Mansion believe everyone has their own taste and style of music for what they want at their wedding and reception. We do offer a list of highly skilled musicians, dj's, and entertainment, to our brides and grooms.

Do you have any special side rooms that can be rented out for the occasion?

As part of your wedding at the Moon Mansion we also offer five master sized bedrooms with on suite bathrooms that your party can rent for overnight accommodations. We have had families fly in from all over the world who have appreciated the accommodations and extra time of being close with all of their families during the special wedding celebration. Moon Mansion can be booked daily or at a special weekly rate.

Can the client provide their own alcohol if desired?

The wedding party can provide their own liquor, but it will need to be served by a licensed and insured bartender.

How many power outlets does the venue have?

The Moon Mansion has enough power sources for the bridal party to use for their wedding and reception.

What restrictions (if any) on decorations?

The Moon Mansion is very elegant. You will find that very few decorations will be needed. The restrictions we have on decorations is that you are not allowed to put any holes in the walls, no confetti, nothing can be attached to lighting fixtures, and no rice can be thrown (birdseed and bubbles are allowed)

What restrictions (if any) on photography?

All photography needs to be conducted during your scheduled hours of rental of the Moon Mansion.

What restrictions (if any) on videography?

All videography needs to be conducted during your scheduled hours of rental of the Moon Mansion.

What restrictions (if any) on music?

The Moon Mansion believes you should enjoy whatever music you would like at your wedding and reception. All we ask is that you comply with the local laws as to the volume of noise permitted. The Moon Mansion reserves the right to limit the volume of music at the wedding and reception.

In general their should be no issue with noise levels, but the noise levels are regulated by King County and may be enforced if needed.

If your site is in a public location, is the client required to get any permits?

The Moon Mansion is a private estate. The couple will need to provide a banquet permit if they would like alcoholic beverages served at their wedding and the alcoholic beverages will need to be served by a licensed and bonded bartender.

Does your venue often accommodate more than one event at a time?

No. The Moon Mansion specializes in a truly remarkable wedding occasions. They believe that a wedding day is truly special and that they should only focus on that one bride and groom for their special day.

Do you offer security, if requested?

The Moon Mansion can provide you with security if needed. Additional charges will apply.

What is your dress code?

The Moon Mansion understands that each wedding party may have their own idea of what they want at their wedding and what their theme may be. We are respectful of what you would like to wear at your wedding.

Please let the staff at the Moon Mansion know if you need handicap access. We will provide a special ramp and accommodations if needed. We want you to be able to enjoy your day and want all your guests to feel comfortable. To accommodate any special requests the staff at the Moon Mansion would ask you inform of any special requests for accommodations before the event.
