We ordered all of our tuxedos from Mr. Burch in Hoover, AL. They were good enough to give the groom and father of the bride their tuxes for free, which was nice. However, they told us that the tuxes would be ready for pick-up the Thursday before the wedding, so we went around noon to pick up 3 of the tuxes. They told us when we arrived that it said on the ticket the tuxes weren't supposed to be picked up until after 3:30pm, but that info was not relayed to us, which is why we showed up at noon. 2 of the tuxes were ready, but we had to come back for the groom's tux. When we returned for the second time that day for the groom's tux, it fit, but there was a BIG snag on the back of the jacket about 3 inches long. They had to get another one and we had to make a 3rd trip back on Friday. The guys that work there were friendly and helpful, but the women all have attitudes and are rude!

Mr. Burch is a great place to get your wedding tuxes. I went to a bridal show at the BJCC and registered for a bunch of things. I spun their wheel to win a certain amount off rentals and I ended up landing on like $150 off, but the guy clicked the wheel just to left so I could get the highest discount possible - $360! I went with chocolate brown tuxes and I got out for a little less than $600.00. This included my discount, a free groom's tux, all accessories like shoes, cufflinks, vests, ties, and undershirts. They are also really accomodating, especially if your wedding party is from all over. Not bad!

Not the best experience for all involved. One groomsmen let with 2 left shoes, father of the bride had wrong jacket but other than that o.k. father of the bride was suppose to get his free but was still charged.

My husband was a very hands on groom and said he would have no problem taking care of ordering the tuxes for him and his groomsmen. He took a swatch of the bridesmaids dress fabric in to use to help determine what tux would look best. The salesmen at the shop must have done a great job helping him because I was very happy with how my husband and the groomsmen looked at the wedding. The colors matched the dresses perfectly and the guys looked so handsome!

My husband went by himself with only a swatch from the bm dress with him. This of course worried me a little but I was not in a position to take the time to go with him. They obviously did a great job b/c the tuxes were perfect. My dress was off white and the sales rep was smart enough to ask my husband the color of my dress so that we didn't end up with his groomsmen wearing white shirts while my dress was not. I did make him call to change the style of the shirt, but that was just a matter of opinion. The vests were chocolate brown but with a triangle design on them, my husband had originally picked a shirt that had pleats on the front which I thought was too busy. Again, this was just a reflection on my husbands taste/opinion, which is why they still get a 5 out of 5.

My husband got all of his wedding day clothes at Mr. Burch Formal Wear. He got a really nice tuxedo and he was taken care of really well. The employees who worked there were very helpful at making sure he had the best customer service that they could give. We didn’t have to go anyplace else as the shop had everything he was looking for and needed. They really take care of their customers and the service in unbelievable. Also the selection of accessories was real good. My husband didn’t have to go all over looking for all that he needed since they made sure everything went well with his outfit and it is kind of like a one stop shop. Our shopping experience was great.

We priced tuxedoes from several local vendors, and found that Mr. Burch had the best prices in town for the quality of their tuxedoes. Jason has dealt with them several times over the past few years for various weddings, and each time the staff was very friendly, eager to help, and the store had a great selection. They were very good to call and notify me when the tuxedoes were ready to be picked up, and if there were any problems ahead of time. When picking up the tuxedo, they are very cooperative in helping to make sure that everything fits the way it should, and even helped those not familiar with wearing a tux how to put everything together correctly. I have already referred several friends to their store after the great care and respect they showed me.

Selecting Mr. Burch Formal Wear for my wedding was a good decision. The location on First Ave North in Birmingham, AL has a warehouse where any size tuxedo can be found. They have a larger selection of tuxedos than any of the other tuxedo rental stores we visited. Mr. Burch had a tuxedo that complimented my bridesmaid’s dresses entirely. My fiancé and I were able to choose a vest and tie that we both liked on one visit to the store. My fiancé was so busy working out for our wedding he didn’t notice that his jacket size went up 2 inches within a few weeks of the wedding. Mr. Burch has such a large selection of tuxedos in a wide range of sizes, the two inch difference in his jacket was basically a nonissue and they were able to accommodate the change within a few days of the wedding. I also encountered a change in the entourage within days of the wedding but again Mr. Burch had no trouble adjusting to the change.
great people to work with!
About Mr. Burch Formal Wear
L. B. Burch first opened the doors of his tailoring business in 1934, a few blocks north of the company's present headquarters. With a staff of two employees, he specialized in custom tailoring for the city's smartest dressed men of the era. The rental of tuxedos and formal wear accessories, the only such operation in Alabama at that time, was a sideline to Burch's tailoring business.
By the 1950s, however, the business had become primarily an outlet for the rental and sales of men's formal clothing. Major Burch, the nephew of the company's founder, was the driving force behind the expansion and growth of the operation during a period which saw startling changes in men's tuxedos. "Tuxedo styles change annually just like clothing styles," says Burch, now the chief executive officer of the company. "During the '60-s we saw colored tuxedos, ruffled shirts, broad lapels, velvet, and three-quarter length styles. There is a much more conservative look in tuxedos today."
