Mr. Formal

Im actually reviewing the Mr. Formal in Albany Oregon, however the Beaverton location was involved as well. Mr. Formal helped my dad rent a linen suit for my wedding. He is a very tall man and he was having trouble finding linen suit that fit well. Mr. Formal found him a very reasonably priced rental suit and fitted it to his needs. They allowed him to rent the suit 1 day earlier than contract (due to his traveling to Portland for the wedding) and return it to the Beaverton Store with no hassle. The quality of the suit was no the best, but my dad looked handsome regardless!

Nice attire but very expensive.

We had a good experience at Mr. Formal. The suits looked really nice and prices were good too!

This company should be put out of Business. The Gresham Store Manager Rochelle who Is now at the Clackamas location, Took my Tux to deliver to me, she put it in the back of her car with boxes on top of it, she drop it off at my hotel before I got there, at 11p. i called the next day and was Informed that she went on a 2wk vacation, So my family had to take all the in Portland to get another tux that was to big. Not only did she ruin my daughter and father day. But also took my credit card info, and made personal charges on it without my constant. This lady Is a Theift, Liar, and has no customer respect. How could this company make her as a manager. Be sure they do not keep your credit card Info, and do not deal with Rochelle at clackamas or Gresham location

Mr. Formal has a good selection of tuxes, and with their locations in other states, it made it easy for our out of town groomsmen to get measured for their tuxes. There was a minor mix up with jacket size... but since they had a warehouse in town, they just ordered a new size ready to get picked up the following day. Even with all that, somehow one of our groomsmen ended up with pants that were slightly too short, they all still looked great though!

The team at our local Mr. Formal was super helpful in answering questions and helping find colors and styles. It would have been nice for my groom to be able to try on different style tux jackets and pants without them having to order it and wait a few weeks to try it on. Had they had all the types there and ready for men to try on - I would give them a higher score. But they do have men pick a few styles to order and try. There is also a fee associated with it too. But we found them to be much more reasonable than Mens Wearhouse when we considered suits. They were super nice and helpful! :)

We used Mr. Formal in Tigard, Oregon for all the guys in our Wedding Party and they all looked very handsome in them. We did not have any issues with any of the tuxes. And the prices were great! THANK YOU!

The Beaverton location (off of Walker Road) was great to work with! Even when we had to change the order they were very helpful. The tuxes all fit and were clean and ready to go when we needed them.

We actually went to the Mr Formal in Vancouver, Wa by the mall and we were very happy with the tuxes and the boys looked so handsome. We started out at the hazel dell location but it closed and our file got thrown somewhere and couldnt be found but everything was in the computer so that was good! Everyone at the mall location was very helpful-the only thing I was upset about was the colors because they did not have anything that matched one of my colors so we had to search to get ties for the boys and finally found some at JcPenny. Otherwise it was great just make sure you have a color swatch of dresses and ties before you order things!!

Excellent service!!!!Very professional and great sales !They have beautiful dresses there... After going to several places, I found my dress there, and it was not hard to fall in love with it... Really nice place to pick your dress and very friendly people...

I am every happy we chose Mr. Formal for the men in our wedding. They were extremely helpful and knowledgeable plus they were very friendly. We didn't have any problems at all and the guys looked great! My husband wanted a very specific type of collarless shirt and Mr. Formal was they only place where we found what he wanted! Our guys used Mr. Formal for the suits in our wedding. After a failed attempt of renting suits at Men's Wearhouse, someone suggested Mr. Formal. Wow what a selection! The staff was very easy to work with and the suits were exactly what we were looking for to wear at an outdoor wedding. What I liked about Mr. Formal is that they would give us reminder calls and letters in the mail, but were not too pushy or annoying. When the suits came in, they looked great and all of them fit nicely. My only negative thing is that my husband did not receive cufflinks, but he didn't care, so it didn't really matter. Great selection-same price or better than Men's Wearhouse.

We were overall pleased with our rentals. No problems, customer service was helpful.

I was pleasantly surprised.. I've heard horror stories about how they didn't get all the pieces for the tux right... all of ours were perfect... right style, color and fit for everybody! We actually went through the Albany, OR store! Lola is very pleasant to work with! My only complaint about when we were in the store is that they don't have many people working at one time so if they are already helping someone else you have to wait awhile!

The guys had an amazing time picking out their tuxes. The people there were very friendly and very helpful. We have used them in the past for prom and other formal occasions and will use them again.

My groom was very picky about what he wanted, and needed a custom size. They were great at Mr. Formal. They let us divide up what we rented and did not force us to rent the whole package. They drove 3 hours to pick up his jacket when a mistake caused it to not be delivered. They did alterations in record time. Definitely would recommend!

Mr. Formal (the Cedar Hills location) was great. They called to remind my husband of appointments and facilitated the order/ measurement process very quickly. The only negative thing is they ordered my dad the wrong size jacket. But it was fixed in 1 day and all worked out well.

My groom lived out of town, so I had to make all the arrangements. I wanted to give him a choice of a silver or purple tie, because he wanted to see which would look better. The receipt had all the information including the groomsmen information and the two ties, just in case.On the day they went to go pick up the tuxes, only the purple tie was to be found and no silver. A few other measurements were incorrect for the rest of the groomsmen. My groom decided upon the silver tie because he had the chance to see one from one of the samples. They didn't have any extra ties, so they gave him the sample, which would not lay flat the way it was supposed to and had a few snags in it.

We rented from the Salem location. The final result of the men’s tuxedos was exactly what I wanted but the process to get there was not so smooth. Because most of the groomsmen were from out of town they had to call in their measurements and were not able to get measured by Mr. Formal. When they went to try on the tux’s two days before the wedding none of them fit. They were either to short or long at the legs and arms. We had to re-order everyone’s tux and hope they were ready in time. Fortunately they were but because of this we had to pick all of the them up the morning of the wedding which added to the stress of the morning. The staff there was very helpful, and nice and dealt appropriately with the issue at hand, but the process was not as smooth as I would have liked.

The two fathers, as well as the groom and groomsmen received their tuxes from Mr. Formal. Mr. Formal is definitely affordable, and if you go to the Portland Bridal Show, there is a great coupon. The guys had an easy time turning in their measurements, and picking up their tuxes. I have had numerous friends comment on loving the tan/khaki color of the guys’ tuxes. There is great variety, and good customer service. If you’re running a tight budget, Mr. Formal is the rental place for you. Before I decided to use Mr. Formal, I didn’t hear the greatest reviews. However, we had a wonderful experience with them.

While I wasn't thrilled that my husband chose a white tux, he didn't know that, and still doesn't. His tux was the one thing about which he got to make the choice completely, and I was happy for him to find something that he REALLY liked. The staff at Mr. Formal were quick to help us and answer all of our questions - and I had lots of questions. The rental was well within our budget. I especially appreciated that they had fabric samples to match up with various retailers' products in the area: I could choose a swatch of my bridesmaids' dress fabric there at Mr. Formal and the vest/links/etc. for my husband could be easily matched.

My husband and I were very pleased with our rentals at Mr. Formal. My husband's suit was beautiful. They managed to match his vest and tie to the sash on my dress perfectly. His shoes were also very nice. Our entire wedding party rented their suits from Mr. Formal and all were happy.

Almost all our guys' tuxes came in the wrong sizes....I'm talking 3 inches too short on the pants, and had to be realtered the day before the wedding, which included another trip we didn't have time for. It may have affected it that I have a VERY tall family.

My husband and the groomsmen’s tuxes were great. Everything was ready when it was supposed to be and the men looked wonderful. I have to say though I felt we were mislead about what my husband’s tux was going to be when it came to the vest. When he picked his up, it was a half vest and not a full and it was because a full did not come in his size but that wasn’t told to us until the time of pick up. The other thing that happened was my husband went to order his groomsmen’s gifts through them and they completely screwed up the order until it was too late to be fixed and we had it corrected by another place. I wouldn’t recommend ordering your favors through them at all.

Ugh... they really made things difficult the week before the wedding. They didn't get the shoes in, they didn't have one shirt, they were missing socks... they didn't know who ordered what and couldn't figure out if payment had been made (it was already paid). The manager finally had to try and go above and beyond by running to the warehouse (wherever that was) pick up another shirt and hand deliver it to the church... that's pretty bad. We ended up having to go back at least three times to try and straighten things out. I decided to go across the way to the Mens Warehouse, for my groom, which had more reliable service.

They were extremely flexible, and worked around all of the wedding party's schedules. We actually went to the Hollywood Dist. location. Every one of the guys in the wedding party never looked better!
