My husband and I were married at the Muckenthaler back in March. From the moment I stepped onto the premises, both of us knew that we HAD to get married here. It was the first and only location we looked at and couldn't imagine getting married and celebrating anywhere else. The location is vast and wide with multiple areas to choose from for your ceremony and reception. Originally, we were planning on having the ceremony in the garden section and reception on the patio; however, rain cancelled that idea and so both took place inside the mansion and was just as gorgeous as it would have been outside. The mansion has a very vintage vibe to it and always has exhibits showcasing so before and after the ceremony, guests have the opportunity to browse inside and check it out. The interior is magnificent and the landscape outside is to DIE FOR!!! You have multiple areas where a bad photo can't be shot. Whether you're looking to have a small (ours was 85 ppl) or big wedding, the Mansion is a great location. There's lots of parking (and it's free), they only have one event per day so your wedding day will be all about you and well, it's gorgeous! Guest after guest kept complimenting how awesome the mansion was and enjoyed exploring the ins and outs of not just the exhibit but the mansion itself. Colette's Catering handles the event/wedding processes and covers catering so basically all you have to worry about is photography, floral and entertainment. I can't list enough positive traits about the mansion. It holds such a special place in my heart and to know that my friends and family loved it, feels pretty awesome.

The Muckenthaler Mansion could not be a more perfect venue to have both ceremony and reception! The mansion is gorgeous, I have a hard time picking my favorite spot! We had our ceremony in the italian garden and the reception inside the mansion, our 100 guests fit perfectly, with room to spare. The patio provided the perfect atmosphere for drinks and dancing. I cant say enough about the Muck!

My husband and I very much enjoyed having "The Muck" as our wedding location. We primarily worked with Dwayne and he was amazing! They really take into account your personal ideas and schedule. The site is gorgeous. All of our guests loved it. Colette's Catering, which is the food company they work with, was also worth every single penny we spent. Overall, everything was fantastic. We would definitely recommend this venue to anyone looking to have a vintage, elegant, organized, and beautiful wedding.

The Muckenthaler was an amazing setting for my wedding. Everyone talked about it after. Gina was amazing help and I could not have done this without her. She helped my day go smoothly.

Beautiful site. We had the cocktail hour in the art gallery and around the Mansion grounds. The dancing was on the courtyard with lights strung over, very pretty. The dinner was on the lawn with a delicious buffet provided by their exclusive caterer, Colette's Catering, which was also excellent and covered in a different review. Duane, the coordinator, was very fun to work with and was great at being flexible and helping us pull everything together. Our ceremony was at the Fullerton First United Methodist Church (across the street from the Fullerton train station) so the architecture was similar and they were a great pair for our wedding day. I highly recommend the Muckenthaler, especially as an ideal location for that "Old Town Fullerton" feel/a romantic and unique location your guests will remember.

The Muckenthaler Mansion is a beautiful venue! It has historic charm and provides a number of great backdrops for photos to remember your special day.
We used the Adella Lawn to accommodate approximately 200 guests, which included adults and children. It was the perfect setting for both adults and kids. Our adult guests thought the location was beautiful, and being on the lawn provided enough space for the kids to wander around so that the reception was fun for them, too!

Everything was perfect up until the day of. All his promises fell through once we paid all the money. They say whatever they want to make you happy but don't follow through. If you pay cash you get a discount. They are good about being flexible with the money but not so friendly the day of the wedding. They cut our DJ off short even thoguh they said it could last an extra hour and they never gave us appitizers while we took pictures which he promised. I taste tested those and never got one!!! :(

I loved the location of my wedding at the Muckenthaler Mansion. However, I feel the level of service was poor. Collette's Catering is the company that manages all events at this location. They did not follow through on providing pricing or other information unless I hounded them. They were very non-chalant during the rehersal and day of the event. They seemed to miss the fact that this was my wedding and I expected them to be tentative and responsive to our requests. They also did not provide any wiggle room for the time of the event, even though nothing else was scheduled for that afternoon. Overall, the venue was beautiful but the service was lacking.
About Muckenthaler Mansion
Built in 1924 as the dream home of Walter and Adella Muckenthaler, the stunning Italian Renaissance-style structure stands on nine landscaped acres overlooking a quiet residential neighborhood. Since 1965 the estate has been used as a cultural
center for touring art exhibits. The mansion art gallery contributes a unique aesthetic to special events.
The 9 acre Muckenthaler estate has numerous enclaves for receptions. Al fresco options include: the Center Circle Courtyard, lit by necklaces of twinkling lights; the Adella lawn and Northwest Lawns for larger parties; and the charming Palm Court
for daytime events. In the evening you can fête your guests in a fancy tent, or let the starlit sky create the ambiance. During the day, a sprinkling of garden umbrellas adds color and shade.
For indoor festivities guests enjoy mingling in the wooden-floored atrium with its ornate tiled fireplace. Dinner and dancing often unfold in the main gallery, where a baby grand piano is on hand for musical entertainment. When it's time to toss the bouquet the bride stands on the mansion's front porch and flings her flowers to the bridal hopefuls waiting below on the lawn.
Prior to tying the knot, the bride can prepare and unwind in a dressing room featuring its own private entrance and bath, while the groom and his attendants relax with refreshments in the lower gallery, just steps from the ceremony courtyard.
In addition to its extraordinary setting, the two-story mansion offers exclusive catering and full bar services by Colette's. Known for fabulous cuisine, magnificent cakes and impeccable service, Colette’s offers complete reception
packages, customized international menus, and creative reception ideas for 20 to 500.
