Music As You Like It

Music as you like it has potential to be an all around good choice for a wedding ceremony/ reception. unfortuantely for my wedding they dropped the ball and did not perform to my standards. The dj was late and not dressed appropriately. Through out the entire wedding I had to keep telling the dj what to do next. On top of that their sound system was crap. It kept messing up during songs and important parts of the reception.

Dealing with the business side of this company was great. They were very professional and organized. The DJ we used with them, Robert Taryan was terrible. He decided during our wedding to start using MP3s and it was obviously to all in attendance that he had no idea what he was doing. He messed up our first four songs, bridal party, 1st dance, father/daughter because he couldn’t find the songs we had requested he play. It was awkward and I was pretty mad, although after that, the dancing for the guests went mostly smoothly.

Music as You Like It is a larger company that employs a number of different DJs. I booked Craig on a recommendation from my sister in law after he was at a wedding she attended.
Music As You Like It was great and Craig played good music during the reception. Unfortunately, there were a couple of specific songs which he didn't have, and when we provided music he played some of the wrong tracks. This was really a problem when my sister sang our first dance song and he played the wrong track.
All in all a good company. I probably didn't spend as much time meeting with the DJ prior to the event as I should have.

I had 2 violinists for my ceremony. Music As You Like It sent me a packet that contained a CD with sample music which made it soooo easy to choose what I wanted for my ceremony. Several of the songs I recognized when I heard them, but had no idea how I would have known the names of the songs or looked them up. This sample CD was EXTREMELY helpful and ensured I chose music that the violinists were familiar with.
My only concern was that as I neared my Wedding Day, I had not been contacted directly by the lead violinist to discuss my song choices and I had to call their office twice before the violinist called me back. I believe there was something going on with him personally at that time?? Anyway, the 2 violinists showed up in plenty of time, setup quickly, and played beautifully.
This was also quite inexpensive, however, I only used them pre-ceremony and for the ceremony itself.
