Used MSV for a Sweet 16 party and they were awesome!

Matt was fantastic- MSV worked with us on very short notice. Matt arrived early, was very helpful and professional. He did exactly what we asked him to do and nothing that we didn't want. His services only added to a joyous occasion!

My husband and I were very glad to have John and his team from MSV at our wedding; John K. was relaxed and friendly with us and the other guests, and was professional throughout the whole process from our first meeting to the end of the reception.

His price was right in our budget; much lower than some other Hudson Valley DJ's, but offering everything the other guys did, plus throwing in a few extras. He took all our requests, checked & double-checked our announcements, and even handled a few last-minute changes without skipping a beat. As for the playlist, we gave him a lot of music "must-plays." We needed indy-rock for me, top-40 for my husband, latin for his family, and so on. John managed to get everyone's taste accommodated and had everybody dancing in no time at all.

No cheesy DJ gimmicks, either; MSV kept the reception feeling like a proper wedding but with all the fun of a real good party. Highly recommended from both of us!

Music Speaks Volumes was absolutely fabulous! We received so many services and tons of value in our package for a great price! John was great, he provided music, pictures, uplighting and the setup of the flat screens was very impressive!! The music was just what we were looking for and everyone really enjoyed the wedding!

MSV did a fantastic job with our wedding. We could not have had a better time, and John was great at assuring me that the day would go smoothly - which it certainly did! To add to this - I HIGHLY recommend going with the photobooth that MSV offers - it was the highlight of our wedding - people can't stop talking about how awesome it was - I seriously CAN'T WAIT to get the CD with all the photos from the booth!

John and his team kept everyone dancing throughout the entire evening. He played the music we requested and was very professional and easy to contact. I would recommend MSV to friends and family and use them in any future endeavors.

I can honestly say if I could rate JOHN and MUSIC SPEAKS VOLUMES more then 5 stars I would rate them with an endless number. The company was INCREDIBLE. John was a great guy and easy to work with. They honestly cared about the things I wanted. My wedding had a guest crowd of people in their mid 20s, older group, Italians and Hispanics. John nailed it on the dot. Most of my guest like me barely ate and that was because we were having to much fun dancing to even think about stopping. The night was PERFECT. I might have had some last minute requests ( a few days before the big day) and John reassured me not to worry and that he could make it happen and he did. The amount of equiptment he had was great and the room look incredible. I would not change a thing. Anyone that does not choose MUSIC SPEAKS VOLUMES as a DJ would be crazy. Excellent work! We were very pleased with the result. The presentation was professional, the sound was excellent, the playlist was as discussed- perfect!

My husband and I got married at The Poughkeepsie Grand Hotel 8.26.11 and MSV provided an amazing uplighting for the reception room and the music was great. I was surprised that guests who claimed they would not dance, were actually up there dancing. Music was great. Everyone said how our wedding was the best they've been to in a while. It was perfect! :)

Also, Fatima did our pictures and we have yet to get them because she takes her time, so they will come out amazing. We had a blast doing pictures. I highly recommend them both.

John and his crew at MSV was outstanding. I was so impressed with the way that my wedding reception turned out and MSV was such a big factor in that. They were very easy to work with as John was always available to speak with and coordinate with. They were early and set up way ahead of schedule. The lighting that they provided MADE the room extraordinary, all my guests commented on it and were in awe. They had everyone dancing and having fun all the while respecting the music choices I had wanted. But above all the team was friendly and professional. Mr. John Kihlmire and his Music Speaks Volumes are bar NONE the best most professional DJ/Entertainment Service I have ever come across. The funny thing is, this wasn't even my wedding, it was my sisters. He is very detail oriented with the type of music, lighting, set up, and other options offered. I am always reading on their facebook or website about the new equipment being purchased which gives people that many more options. He met with my sister and her husband at least 3 times to discuss various options and ideas. He not only works with the families wishes, but offers his own input and idea to make it unique. I know they arrived at the Reception venue about 3 hours before the cocktail hour was scheduled to begin, just to make sure everything was squared away and perfect - which it was. The cocktail hour was a great mix of relaxing music while everyone ate and talked. All the couples in the wedding party got their own entrance songs which was amazing. The music during the dinner time and cake cutting was right on. But when it was time to really party, they had the dance floor packed. I don't know how many people came up to me, my sister, or parents saying how they have never seen a wedding where literally EVERYONE was on the dance floor at the same time. The energy MSV brought was awsome, the perfect mix of songs from oldies, to new stuff and everything in between. No one wanted the reception to end when it did. I without hesitation recommend Music Speaks Volumes Entertainment for your wedding or any party where you want a professional to handle your entertainment, they are second to none.

Music Speaks Volumes did our wedding on July 29, 2011. They were an incredible company to work with from day one. John, the owner of MSV, was readily available to sit with my husband and I to discuss the details of our event. He was also available through email and phone if we had any last minute issues.

John kept the mood of our wedding elegant as we requested. At the same time, he had the dance floor packed from the first set of music to the last. Along with the awesome playlists, our wedding was accented by the uplighting and flatscreen TVs provided by MSV. At the end of the evening, numerous guests approached us complimenting John and his company.

We would hands down reccommend Music Speaks Volumes to any bride or groom for their special day!

MSV made our wedding! John provided the best possible service imaginable. He responded to every email for song requests and details immediately. He found every song that we wanted down to an El Salvadorian wedding dance. We were so hectic towards the end of our planning that we forgot certain details, but John was so accommodating that he made changes down to the last day. His timing and transitions were top notch. I can't say enough great things about MSV. Our guests were in unison in the feeling that the music and photography were great, and made the party. Speaking of photography Fatima did an amazing job as well. She was attentive and a non-stop machine that caught every angle. It was great to have both services with the same company. Everything about MSV was a 5+++!!!!!! They went above and beyond, and were both great to work with. Definitely recommend.

I booked MSV for my husband surprise 40th birhday. I must say MSV was beyond what I expected. The music was great. My guest loved the variety of music. The party was on 6/25/11 and still to this morning my friends are calling me asking about the DJ. They kept all my guest on there toes.I will recommend them to everyone that wants to have great music at there party.

John provided our music for the ceremony, cocktail hour and reception and did an absolutely amazing job! He kept the party going all night, took requests and knew just when toasts, etc should be. The music appealed to all our guests from 3-70+, everyone was on the dance floor!

Can't say enough good things about John and his crew. They were excellent to work with from start to finish. They listen to everything you ask of them while putting in a bit of their professional touches here and there. We couldn't get anyone off of the dance floor the entire night of our wedding (but that's a good thing!) Hands down, the best DJ's around. If I could rate MSV higher than a 5 I would rate them a 10. They were great! I love that they were able to get some of the songs for me that they didn't already have, and made me feel like my happiness was their top priority. I would highly recommend them to anyone.

John was extremely helpful and flexible in his schedule. The music was great, all of our guests said that was the best wedding d.j. they have ever seen. We have gotten many compliments about him and the music and fatima was excellent in getting the party started. I would recommendthem to everyone and we will be using them again for future parties. We can't wait to dance some more.

Electing to book MSV (Music Speak Volumes Entertainment) as our wedding DJ was an easy decision after the initial meeting. John and Fatima were professional, knowledgeable and organized from the onset. After booking they kept in touch regularly and submit requests in advance so we were able to plan accordingly. Based on our request of musical genres, we could not have asked for a better selection of music at our wedding from - from cocktail hour to last dance and the MC was perfect. We had an excellent event - the dance floor was packed and our guests couldn't get enough of the music. MSV was a pleasure to work with. Music Speaks Volumes was AMAZING, From start to finish with the ENTIRE experience! Everyone really enjoyed them! From the moment I decided to have them do my wedding I didn't have a care, they take care of everything in a very professional manner! The Pictures are a added bonus!!!! You can't get a better bang for your buck!

John and Fatima were great! We used MSV for our September wedding at Bear Mountain and could not have been happier with their work. They had to share the night with a Macedonian band (think Greek music) and they made sure that the transition between the different music went smoothly. They showed up on time and stayed on schedule - they also took great photos throughout the night that we will be able to keep. Their equipment is super professional and sleek - nothing cheesy - and they made sure to stick to our "do not play" list, which made us happy. They have the most up to date music and they are on top of things...when we had to meet up to discuss details, they easily met us in NYC to make it easier on us. We would definitely use MSV again - they provided great value and professional service.

Music Speak Volumes Entertainment did a FANTASTIC job at my daughter's wedding. Couldn't have asked for a better selection of music and the MC was perfect. Everyone danced all night, non stop. John & Fatima were a pleasure to work with. So much fun. They answered all my emails immediately and made this part of the event a breeze. I highly recommend them! John did an awesome job at my reception. He had the perfect music mix for the whole night and my guests danced all night. I got several comments from my guests at how good the music selection was. I loved how professional he was, when he announced my bridal party, it did not sound like a WWE announcer and he does not have any cheesy lighting. Very hip but classy at the same time. I loved his uplighting. My colors were purple and the whole corner where he set up was purple and looked incredible. I highly highly recommend him, he exceeded my expectations!!

One of the best decisions that I made when planning my wedding was booking Music Speaks Volumes as my DJ company. John was very easy to work with and understood exactly the vibe that we wanted for the night of our wedding. He met with us several times to discuss details and was quick to respond to any questions whether it was by phone or email. The equipment was awesome! She was calm yet assertive with the photos, which helped to speed up the formal shot process a bit. She was very knowledgable about poses and candid shots and made everyone feel comfortable. I loved how Fatima and John worked together and were ablle to have a slideshow of the preceremony and ceremony shots running during dinner. The pictures were gorgeous and many of my guests loved that they were able to see those pictures. I had friends who have been married for years tell me they had "photographer envy"! I would definately work with both John and Fatima again.

John (DJ) and Fatima (Photographer) both went above and beyond of what was asked of them. I have recommended them to all of my friends for Future Parties. I am sure we will be using them in the near future.

Everyone at my wedding commented on how good the music was and how Music Speaks Volumes played a mix that all age groups were able to enjoy. I really appreciated their responsiveness and professionalism in the months/weeks/days leading up to the event. Hiring a DJ sight unseen for an important occasion such as your wedding can be scary, but I am so glad I went with Music Speaks Volumes, as they exceeded my expectations. I highly recommend Music Speaks Volumes to anyone looking for a great DJ.

Dj was great, all the guests enjoyed the party and the music, very professional,great rate, puntcual. A little disappointed only half my requested playlist was played, but guests didn't notice and loved the music. All together satisfied.photographer was great too, low key, great shots.

Music Speaks Volumes did a great job for our wedding. Music is the most important piece that sets the tempo. All of the guests enjoyed the evening and continuously gave complements on how much they enjoyed our wedding. The dance floor stayed full throughout the evening.

I'm a bit upset with Music Speaks Volumes. Our package was supposed to include up to 300 pictures of our reception. I contacted John after the wedding to discuss how the pictures came out, and he informed me that he didn't take any pictures during the wedding. John stated that sometimes the photographers, who are working at the wedding, get annoyed when the dj takes pictures. This is ridiculous to me because John is the one who recommended our photographer to us! I distinctly remember discussing the pictures with him when we first met, it is in our contract and I also have emails where we discussed it. If he was not going to take pictures during the reception I would have appreciated being told so beforehand He offered to give my fiancé and I a free photo shoot now that the wedding is over but that wasn’t the deal and we are not interested. Also, I was a bit disturbed at the lack of music that I had chosen to be played during the dinner hour. I gave him a very detailed list of what we wanted to hear and not one of the choices I had made for dinner music was played. If he didn’t have those songs or artists available I would have provided CDs As most of the music I like isn't really dance or fun type of music, it was the only time I would have been able to hear it. It really is too bad that things went this way, I wanted to be able to recommend Music Speaks Volumes to others as I have a few friends, and my sister getting married within the next year. But as things stand right now, I would not feel comfortable recommending their services to someone else. The Uplighting was beautiful and most of my guests said they had fun and for the most part he was a decent dj, but don't offer something you cannot make good on, and don’t make us pay for something we did not get!

I understand not every song can be played at a wedding, but the list I gave you did not have an extensive amount of songs on it. The reason I gave you the list was because those were the certain songs and artists that were important to me. Once again my biggest issue is that none of this, lack of pictures or songs not being played, was EVER discussed with us before the wedding.

and PS yes I am annoyed at the music issue, but the fact that i PAID for a package that was supposed to include pictures and none were taken and your lack of communication before the wedding regarding this, is what is really the issue.

All I can say is that MSV is the total package....from great set-up, to great music selection, to great personality.

When hiring a DJ, you really want to hire someone you feel 100% comfortable with. That is something that you'll find in hiring John, and his crew from Music Speaks Volumes!
John will answer any questions, and as many questions as you need to make you feel comfortable. I have never worked with a man that goes so far and beyond to make sure his clients wedding becomes a success!
