I used MyPublisher a number of times. First, we made a photo guest book for our wedding, which we forgot to set out. But the photos looked good, and there was ample space for guests to write in had they been given the chance.
Then we used them to create deluxe photo hard cover books as gifts for our parents. MyPublisher has frequent sales to help make it much more affordable, so we got them during a BOGO sale. We upgraded to lay flat pages, which was a great choice, the cover looks fantastic, the slip cases for the books fit perfectly and the photos again look rich and colorful. With the books, we received a coupon for a free pocket book, so we'll be making one for my grandfather, again a great deal.
I believe with all their sales, MyPublisher does come out to be a great value, but they are somewhat limited on their background designs and offer no embellishments, which would have been a nice touch to add. However, I still think they would be great for photo guest books and for photo books for after your wedding.
I ordered some photo books as Christmas presents this year. They arrived on 12/15, and I realized one of the books had a page missing. Accidents happen, no big deal. On 12/16, I contacted customer service via email included the order # and picture of the defect using the email listed on their site, which stated I'd receive a reply within 24 hours. On 12/18, two days later, I got an automated reply stating I would be contacted within 48 hours. On 12/21, three days after that, I emailed again. I finally got a reply to this one on 12/22, saying I had to contact the returns dept directly at a different email - I'm thinking "Now why isn't that email just listed on the website in the first place, or why can't your own customer service forward them my email??" But that day, 12/22, I sent the returns dept their own email. After that I called, I chatted (once even being disconnected by an agent who didn't want to hear my complain, apparently), I even sent them Facebook messages for heaven's sake. The only times I actually got replies (chatting and phone service, obviously where they can't avoid me as easily) I could never talk to the returns dept directly because they were in meetings, but I was always assured that it would be taken care of that day. But it's been four long weeks of waiting, I've actually cried I'm so frustrated, and my mom is still waiting for her photo book that was supposed to be a Christmas present. The actual books are beautiful and well-made (when they make them right) but even with discounts they are very expensive due to all the add-ons, and their customer service is so bad I would never recommend them to anyone. I also learned they have a numerous complaints with the BBB. Avoid this company at all costs.
They had just what I wanted and their turnaround time and prices were reasonable. I order from them regularly and am always pleased with their service.
I had my heart set on a wedding album with flushmount thick pages (Zookbook style), but after seeing prices of those albums, I decided to try another route. I was interested in designing my own album and I had read good reviews about My Publisher (and had a coupon), so I decided to give it a shot. The creation process was very time consuming. I did the "Simple Publisher" option, in which the software designed the book using the photos I selected. I had to rearrange almost every page (I am very picky about layouts), which took a lot of time, but you can save the book as you go. Once I was done designing the book, the upload process to the website (the software downloads to your desktop) was very slow and took about 1.5 hour to complete. After that, it was a 2 day printing process and then the book shipped.
Once I received the book, I was thrilled with the quality! Althought the design process is a bit slow, I felt it was worth the time invested. The paper is very thick and the photos are beautifully enhanced. I chose the lay-flat pages and I'm so glad I did that. My only complaint is some of the photos were slightly cropped for binding purposes. Had I known that, I might have selected other layouts for these pages but overall, I'm extremely pleased.
I've seen complaints about the prices on blogs, but I feel my book was worth every penny. I've used Snapfish, Picaboo, and Kodak before for photo books and My Publisher was BY FAR the best quality. I purchased the Deluxe Linen Hardcover with 100 lay-flat pages for $130 including shipping (that was including the discounts from the coupon). I would gladly pay that much again to receive such a high quality book!
I already created/ordered my guest book from another site - I'd have ordered from MyPublisher, but many of my photos didn't lend itself to the landscape style, and I wanted to my guest book to be portrait.
I did, however, want a book just for us with more personal photos, aside from our engagement pics, so I did use mypublisher. The book was designed in landscape and looks great; plus I got a great deal on price: win-win. So we have one book with everyone’s well wishes and another of more personal photos.
Mypublisher is great for photos in landscapes and if you don't mind that you can't edit your page as you can with other book companies. It's biggest plus is that it's always running offers, so you get a great book at an unbelievable price.
We love MyPublisher! We made our own wedding book and a few smaller ones for our families and they turned out great! I think quality depends on the quality of your pictures. The software is great, but somewhat slow at times. Shipping is fast and on time. Price is amazing. They have promotions every month. Our wedding book was huge, so we waited for a 40% off promotion before ordering and saved more than $100 on our book. We are really happy with their services. I recommend them to all my friends.
We LOVE our MyPublisher guestbook so much that we know we will be return customers for other pictures. We will now use the guestbook (full of signatures and sweet notes from our wedding guests) as an engagement picture album. *Advice* if you are going to order one, sign up for their email list, as they send coupons all the time. I also recommend doing their "auto arrange" feature, and then tweaking your layout from there. It saved us so much time on the layout and offered a nice variety of layout styles that we may not have considered if we had started from scratch.
Quality was also really great, so don't let that concern you.
