We had Van Petty for our DJ and he was such a pleasure to work with, our meetings were always fun. He did an amazing job at our wedding and keep everyone dancing. This company was amazing to work with and I would def. recommend Van Petty!

Evan was a godsend for me. After my original DJ (who was a family friend) left MyDeejay, Evan stepped in to do our wedding. I absolutely loved him. He listened to all of our music requests and really got the vibe that I was going for. It's so hard to do music for a mixed crowd of older great aunts and uncles and grandparents, mixed with preteen cousins and 20 something friends. Everyone absolutely loved the music. I swear my Mom was out on the dance floor for most of the reception. I attended a wedding the weekend before, and the DJ was so cheesy ("let's get this party started, party people!") and his sound system quit working about 3 separate times during the event. Evan was perfectly in the background and the sound system never had any blips. Evan was a pleasure to work with for planning purposes as well, and the online system was great. I will definitely recommend MyDeejay to other brides.

Our DJ was Michael Bell and he could not have been better. I actually wanted to hire a band but my Fiance and our wedding planner convinced me to meet with Mike. I went into the meeting wanting to dislike Mike, but after seeing how prepared, professional, and creative he was, I left impressed and much more comfortable with the idea of hiring a DJ and we hired him just a few days later.

My Fiance and I had a few pieces of input for left most of the music for the reception and even a significant part of the ceremony up to Mike and he absolutely nailed it. The most important thing to us was that our reception was fun and that the dance floor stayed full and hopping and Mike made it happen. Thanks again Mike!

MyDeejay provided us with a great DJ named William Steward. He helped us with great suggestions for our reception timeline and recommended some amazing music. Once the reception started, he was very professional in executing the planned timeline and during the dancing, played great songs at appropriate times. Anthony Simpson DJ'ed my wedding at the Four Seasons a few weeks ago and was absolutely fantastic. We couldn't have been more pleased with MyDeejay. When planning our wedding, the company was extrememly quick to respond to us and connected us with one of their DJs-Jeff Furnas. Jeff was so easy to work with! He drove out to our neighborhood and met us at a local coffee shop to meet us twice. The first time was to meet us and get an idea of what we were looking for. He provided us with an online tool to help with the selection of songs as well. The second time was a couple of weeks before the wedding. Again, he came to us and went over the final details and timeline for our big day. Since my husband is always puntual (and being on time is really being late), we were very impressed that Jeff was always there to greet us when we arrived for our appointments.

My wedding was on March 10th, 2012, I hired My Deejay Inc. and I can’t praise them enough. We worked with Devin Alexander for our wedding. Devin was extremely professional, responsive, and helpful. He answered all of my questions in a timely manner and provided a lot of good recommendations and suggestions as far as the song selections and the timeline. Devin seemed very experienced and had everyone on the dance floor all night. We requested some specific songs but let Devin choose most of the playlist for the cocktail hour, dinner, and dancing. It was the best decision to let him make most of the song selections because everyone young and old danced and enjoyed themselves. We would absolutely recommend Devin and MyDeejay to other couples looking for a wedding DJ. MyDeejay in general is a little pricey, but they provide discounts for specific times of the year and if you pay in full when signing the contract. These discounts definitely helped bring the price down to a reasonable price.

Mydeejay made my event! I worked with DEVIN ALEXANDER and he made the night a night to remember. He put up with my drunk and crazy guests at the end of the night and made sure that the introductions and all the formal components were composed and beautiful. He met me for our first meeting even though I live way far away from everything. The service guarantee given by Mydeejay cannot be beat! I had a middle of Feb. wedding and was really worried about the weather, as well as I should have because it snowed the whole weekend, but Devin said that he would take care of everythign and he did!

You should stop your DJ search here and get in touch with MyDeejay! What we liked most about Evan and MyDeejay was how easy they were to work with. We had a pretty big generational gap at our wedding and wanted everyone to have some time on the dance floor. We were concerned that it would be hard to find a DJ who understood what we were looking for and could successfully transition the evening from Frank Sinatra to Jay Z. Once we met Evan our concerns were put to rest. He understood exactly what we wanted and kept everyone dancing all night which was what we really wanted at our reception. Evan understood that we didn't want a DJ who was on the microphone all night or one that was using our wedding to show off their eclectic taste in music. In addition, with their experience doing weddings in the area, it was great to find a vendor who knew our venue and understood the acoustics, speaker placement, etc. As far as pricing, we were also extremely pleased with MyDeejay. Once we signed our contract there were no hidden charges for "extras" like additional microphones, speakers, etc. With all the other stuff you have to do planning a wedding it was really great to work with a straightforward company that delivered on every promise they made. If you want a professional DJ service that meets all of your needs, then MyDeejay is the place to go. My wife and I couldn't have asked for a better DJ. From the moment we contacted them, they were polite and answered any question in a timely matter. Their song selection is HUGE and for some odd reason if they don't have your song, they will get it, no questions asked. Our DJ Michael Bell was great and really helped make the wedding reception run smoothly. He was flexible in meeting us anywhere we wanted to, we chose our local Starbucks, to meet and discuss the wedding. As any party planner can tell you, the DJ is one of the most important factors to any event. You can have a beautiful venue, good food, great friends, but if your music isn't symbiotic with your guests, the evening will be dull. Your event is like a picture. You set all the lines and put in all the characters you need to complete the scene, but the music is the color; it creates the mood, levies the emotion of the event.

We were very deliberate in our selection of our DJ; we looked at a bit of everything; small, big, and in between. One meeting with Evan, and our search ended immediately. Eclectic music lovers, my husband and Evan spoke for over an hour about every genre from alternative, to country, to Motown, to Stacks. Evan doesn't need our recommendation; he has hundreds of positive reviews. Nonetheless, our wedding reception was exceptionally flawless. It exceed my expectations, and believe me, my expectations were high. The dance floor was full throughout the entire night: Our grandmothers, who are in their 70's and 80's and haven't danced in decades, even graced the dance floor with a two-step - TWICE! Friends, family, and co-workers were sing their hearts out to one another, dancing with the person closest to them, dancing by themselves even! Evan created something magical under our wedding tent; the emotion was symbiotic. For this reasons alone, we had to share this experience - even if he didn't need it.

Steve and I got married on November 12th, 2011 and we chose MyDeejay as our wedding DJ. We initially had a bit of a hard time finding a DJ we liked. We were very cost conscious since we were paying for our wedding ourselves. Thus, we tried to look for the best deals. Soon after, we met with Devin at a Starbucks near our house. Devin traveled quite far to meet us there, and we talked with us about the contract and the type of music we wanted for our wedding. He was extremely professional, but also very nice and easy to talk to. We booked with him the next day! Even though My DeeJay was a bit more expensive than the other DJs we had initially looked into, we knew it would be worth the price.

Over the next several months, we e-mailed back and forth with Devin. Devin was ALWAYS very prompt with his responses and we really appreciated that. On our wedding day, Devin did an awesome job. We really liked his style - he is the opposite of an "in your face" DJ - very easy going when he made announcements. I would definitely recommend MyDeejay to other brides! MyDeejay did a great job matching us with their DJ Jeremy. We met twice with him, once for our initial consult and a second time to go over the day of details. My Deejay has a great online system for brides/grooms to put in their must plays, do not plays, and wedding timeline. Jeremy took all of our requests and ran with it! He totally got "us" and played other songs that were perfect! Jeremy did a great job sticking to our timeline and everyone was on the dance floor all night long and could not stop complimenting the music!

We worked with Mike Bell, and had an amazing time at our reception. He struck a great balance between songs that were important to us and songs that would make people shake their groove things. He was responsive, professional, and extremely easy to get along with. His dynamic sense for reading a room plus his breadth of musical knowledge is fantastic, and I ain't going to lie, I danced my face off.

We worked with Anthony Simpson. He was so great and so nice. He came to our apartment to meet with us twice to go over ideas, names, and the flow of our wedding. He also helped with ideas and names of other vendors, which was very helpful and very nice that a lot of our vendors knew each other and had worked together before. The day of the wedding he went over all of the wedding parties names, which was nice so that there were no mistakes. He took our notes to heart and the musical tone was great. Everyone had so much fun dancing the night away. When the cake cutting ceremony was supposed to happen and I needed a second he totally knew and asked if I wanted 10 minutes. I will be forever grateful for those ten minutes as I was getting pulled in so many directions. He really kept up with the schedule and reminded us of things that I would have forgot about like the bouquet toss. It was great having someone who took our schedule and ran with it. He was not overbearing, but just checked in with us throughout the night to make sure we were ok with everything. He is the best! I could not have done it without him.

My deejay.com was recommended to me and I'm enthusiastically doing the same to anyone looking for a DJ for an important event! They have many DJs to choose from and are very good at listening to your needs and pairing you with the right DJ. I was set-up with William Steward and adored him from the moment we met. He was very professional, had a warm and friendly personality and calming demeanor--something that was important to me as I was planning my wedding! I knew that he would sincerely care about our our big day. As expected, he was fabulous! William did a great job helping us organize the timeline of the reception, which was a huge asset. Anthony at MyDeejay provided the music for my reception. My husband loves jazz and swing, and I love Disco. Jeff Furnas was our DJ, and he could not have done a more amazing job for us. From the initial email communication with MyDeejay, I was impressed. My wife and I live in Florida, but we got married in northern Virginia. MyDeejay and the DJ that they selected for us, Van Petty, went out of their way to accommodate our time restraints. Van is an excellent DJ who is highly proficient in mixing, cutting, and looping tracks. Without Van, our wedding may not have been as perfect as it was. Mike was our DJ, and he did a great job. From the initial meeting with him, it was clear Mike just loves music. We were able to give him a vague list of artists we like and he immediately made suggestions for similar artists and songs which really impressed us since our tastes lean a little towards indie rock and are not mainstream at all. My husband and I had a fantastic experience using MyDeejay for our October 8th wedding. DJ Jeff Furnas was wonderful, professional, and fun! He went above a beyond (provided microphones/speakers for our ceremony and worked with family members who wanted to perform during our cocktail hour). We chose Ari from MyDeejay and couldn't have been happier with our choice. I literally can't think of a single criticism -- he was professional, on time, relaxed, listened to our choices where we cared about music and filled in the blanks with perfect selections in situations when we didn't care. Ari did a beautiful job on the day of and got my in-laws and all of our friends dancing. My only complain is that our reception wasn't longer!

When we met with Evan (owner of the company and he was the DJ for our event) for the interview/selection process, we immediately felt comfortable with him. We hired MyDeejay for our October 9, 2011 wedding with ~140 people at 2941 restaurant which featured an outdoor ceremony and an indoor reception.

We (groom, MOH and myself) were at a DC bridal showcase and kept talking about how we wanted to find a DJ that wasn't cheesy and wasn't distracting but how do you nicely ask that of someone with a giant light show at their booth. We turned a corner and literally there was MyDeejay with a small pop up banner that said 'professional and unobtrusive.' A-ha! That's how you say not-cheesy. =)

We worked with Jennifer, the Vice President, to pick the DJ with the best personality fit and she recommended William. William came to our house and met with us about all the details of the wedding initially and then again a few weeks before the actual wedding. He was extremely friendly and professional. I sent him a VERY (I'm a wee bit, ok alot, OCD) detailed email(s) with not one but two Excel spreadsheets detailing the EXACT music I wanted played during the ceremony and eating portions as well as during the dance hour. My groom and I have very eclectic music tastes and William found everything except a few songs that he honestly then asked me to provide. The day of, everything was seamless. He worked with the videographer to confirm the music during the ceremony (outdoor ceremony) was going to work correctly for the video feed and for our guests to actually hear and then transitioned quickly to playing the music inside for the reception. We had a very specific timeline and a unique first dance which required William to work with us before hand and our Wedding Day-Of coordinator during the ceremony/reception to ensure everything went perfectly. I wanted my best friend who has a lovely speaking voice to do all of the announcements and William was not put off by this request at all but again worked professionally to ensure that my friend knew where to be and more or less what to say at the few announcements we scheduled.

If you are looking for a DJ to play the music you want, stay out of your way and generally provide the perfect ambiance without injecting any surprise 'Chicken Dance' moments into your special day then please, please hire MyDeejay! William was fantastic, Jennifer was super easy to do all the contracts with, and I'm sure any of the entire crew at MyDeejay will be just great in providing you the highest quality professional and unobtrusive music at your wedding.

At first I was very skeptical of having a DJ at my wedding - afraid I'd have to resign myself to cheesy songs and tacky jokes...but then I found Evan! He's a breeze to work with and a real class act - from the first meeting he perfectly understood the cool, swingy, groovy vibe my fiance and I wanted to project at our cocktail hour and reception, and towards the middle of the night he started mixing in the perfect blend of current popular songs to keep the younger crowd dancing till the very end. It was amazing - everything was so elegant, so professional, and so FUN!

William from MyDeeJay was AH-MAZING! He kept the dance floor hopping all night! He played all genres of music so everyone from my little cousin to my grandma could enjoy it! Devin was the DJ for our wedding reception, and we couldn't have asked for better service. He understood what kind of vibe we were going for and played music that, though we didn't request most of it specifically, was definitely what we wanted to hear. Lots of people danced and everyone had a great time. He was also flexible about adding a couple songs to the line up fairly close to the date, even though all we gave him to work with was YouTube videos.

We had Ari from MyDeejay at our wedding this past weekend and we could not have chosen a better deejay. Throughout the process, Ari was responsive, professional and always helpful in our decisions. He read the room perfectly and had everyone on the dance floor the entire night. We loved our vendors, but my wife and I agree that Ari was the best. Thanks to MyDeejay and Ari for making our wedding the best it could have been.

First off, dealing with Jennifer was a pleasure in itself, too... So awesome and professional and VERY responsive. Since I was planning a wedding in Maryland all the way from California, I did practically all of my communication via email and they both were really quick in replying and helping me out and were also available later in the evenings on the phone when I got off work....

About Trevor, he has an amazing MC voice! We went through my song genres and what we were looking via phone and he even humored me and went through prounoucing all the wedding party like 5 times for me. I was really impressed with the way he just knew his stuff - about venues, setup, music, weddings, and was able to answer many of my questions before I even asked him.

At the wedding reception, he arrived really early to setup and the music transitions were seamless for all different parts of the reception.
He wore a tux and looked super sharp. The music was a good volume, not too loud, not too soft.

All in all, I'd recommend him 100 times over for any event and when I was planning a wedding and dealing with all kinds of personalities, I really appreciated those vendors that were easy to get along with and really on top of things. And MyDeejay was one of those vendors. True, they may not be the cheapest DJs out there, but you TOTALLY get what you pay for and it was completely worth it - plus they give you a discount for paying in full up front!

Evan of MyDeeJay was just so awesome to work with. He promptly got back to me on all my questions whether it was by phone or e-mail. He drove to my house for our initial meet up and also the week before the wedding to pick up some CDs. We had a special request to play Macedonian music and accomodated it only days before the wedding - what a great DJ! He kept the party going the entire time. This was the first wedding I was at where people danced from the very beginning to the bitter end. So responsive (he was actually returning e-mails from me just hours before the wedding as well...). I would recommend use MyDeeJay and Evan for any event!

Brian Jones rocks! Not only is he a wonderfully professional, respectful, knowledgeable, and responsible DJ, he is a really really nice guy. My (now) husband and I met with him to see if our music tastes would mesh well, and let's just say, it was yet another match made in heaven. :) We had the same favorite band (The National) and he was super excited to hear about all the concerts that we had been to commonly. We loved working with him because he made us feel completely at ease. Weddings can be stressful and so having a good DJ that you trust and know understands what you are looking for is key to keeping the pressure off. We made it clear that we didn't want any of the hokey stuff like the YMCA, etc and he was very respectful of that (as well as relieved). Also, worth mentioning, I had planned a surprise for my husband where I would sing to him at the wedding. Brian was a superstar at not only keeping this under-wraps, but pulling off the technical side flawlessly. He went above and beyond his duty and met me at the hotel for a dry-run before. I was super nervous and he was 110 percent supportive. My husband and I loved him so much that we ended up going for drinks with him after the wedding! Guests from the wedding are still asking about him he was so charming. We wholeheartedly recommend Brian!

Our experience with MyDeejay was amazing! Our DJ was Mike Bell and he was the best. Hard to describe and include all the things he did that made our reception so fantastic, but I’ll do my best. First, it was really important to us that MyDeejay guaranteed the DJ who would be there on your wedding day. The company has online software which allows you to chose your music (such as a must play and don’t play list), which was great and pretty easy to use. The company’s music library is extensive, and if they don’t have something you want, Mike can get it for you. He gathered all the the information (names of parents, wedding party, other vendors, etc) he needed for the reception prior to the event. He was great during all the introductions and events that needed any announcing. He had confirmed all the timing of the event earlier and did a great job sticking to the schedule, but was also able and willing to stretch things or cut things short and work with us for things like the first dances, cake cutting, etc. During the event, Mike played all the right music (we wanted to gradually get more party like with the music, as we had several generations of family and friends). Mike also did a great job not taking crazy requests from our friends, but was able to work in some requests that we gave the ok. The best part about Mike was that he made us feel like it was our special day and he genuinely cared about how our reception went. We can’t thank him enough for making our wedding an unforgettable day!

We had Anthony and he was great!!! I requested songs he didn't have already in the data base and he found them!!! Played a lot of salsa and latin rock that I love! Everyone danced the bootie all night!!! Thanks!

I am happy to provide an outstanding review for Devin Alexander at My Deejay. From the moment Jennifer recommended Devin for our wedding I knew he would be the right fit. He came to our first meeting on time and prepared. He was so sweet and flexible and wanted to make sure that he had all the details right (even when I had a few odd requests). Through the process he was there when we needed him but was never overbearing. He was happy to play what we wanted, but easily came up with his own ideas when we were stuck. In our final meeting he gave us just the amount of confidence we needed to get through the final week. The day of our wedding he came early, set up and made everything go seamlessly. We got tons of compliments on the music and even requested an extra hour with our venue cause he had everyone dancing (in a VERY hot room) all night. We were so pleased with our experience with My Deejay. I will recommend them to everyone.

Jeremy Winston was so great to work with! He was very flexible in his schedule and met with us multiple times to discuss our reception music. I had Michael Bell DJ at my wedding and he was outstanding and a true joy to work with! He was extremely professional and responsive, which I think is key for any bride as we always want our answers ASAP. The online event planning form they have via their website is great as it allows brides & grooms to select songs you like and select songs you hate so that they can get an idea of your taste and make sure not to play anything you hate to ensure that everything is perfect. I thought this was such a wonderful tool as I loved having that sort of control over what type of music was going to be played as I am a type A person so I definitely did not want some mystery music being played on my wedding day and with this feature I knew what to expect and my expectations were met and were far exceeded. I think Mike was worth every penny I paid for. He practically read my mind and got the vibe I wanted for the wedding down to a T and played the perfect mix of music compatible for all the range of age groups I had at the wedding. The dance floor was full the whole entire night. The event staff had to practically kick us out after the reception was over because everyone wanted more music and more dancing, which is all any bride can wish on her wedding day. Needless to say, EXCELLENT JOB!

My sister selected MyDeejay for her April 2010 wedding and her DJ Anthony did a wonderful job -- so wonderful that my fiance and I requested him for our September 2011 wedding. Working with Anthony to select our music was one of the least stressful portions of our planning. He did a great job managing our reception. He also held back some of our friends' awful requests (in accordance with our wishes), and even when we relented and approved one song that cleared the dance floor as he said it would, Anthony was able to bring everybody back dancing for the rest of the night.

MyDeejay was the perfect choice for our wedding. Our DJ (Brian Jones) made the process incredibly easy for us, from the planning to the actual "big day." On our wedding day Brian provided the perfect soundtrack to our ceremony (mic'ed the pastor, singer, pianist, guitar, etc.), cocktail hour, AND reception. We were a little worried that 3 different set-ups might lead to some unexpected issues, but it didn't. Brian set up everything perfectly and we NEVER had to stress about it or get involved. Everything just worked, and MyDeejay was willing to arrange all 3 sound-systems without charging a penny extra while most other vendors wanted to charge extra for each system.

The music was great throughout, Brian even worked with us to create a custom playlist of our choosing for the cocktail hour. We picked some songs through MyDeejay's online portal (and made a few requests that weren't even listed) and Brian had everything ready to go on the big day.

Our friends and family typically aren't the dancing type but everyone danced the entire night at the reception, thanks in large part to Brian's easy-going vibe and superb musical selections. All of the special moments happened seamlessly, and Brian did a fantastic job em-ceeing the introductions, toasts, cake cutting, etc. without ever injecting the cheesy DJ schtick. The dude is a class act.

Everyone had a blast and we got a ton of compliments on the music. If we were to do it all over again we would absolutely go with MyDeejay again, particularly Brian Jones!

I checked out MyDeejay after a friend highly recommended them. Evan was our DJ and we couldn't have been happier. He is incredibly nice and has good taste in music. We didn't want a DJ who was going to "put on a show" the day of the wedding; we just wanted great music. We let him know that and he delivered. You will not regret using MyDeejay!

What can be said about Evan that hasn't already been said? We knew after meeting him that he'd do a fantastic job, and he really delivered. We were concerned that our personal music tastes wouldn't translate to a playlist that would entertain our guests, so we requested that we use "our" music during the cocktail hour and dinner and made a few suggestions for dancing, but we left it up to Evan to feel out the crowd. One or our fears was that our guests wouldn't dance, and thanks to Evan we had everyone out there at one point or another. Beyond that, he was helpful with the timeline and general organization for a somewhat clueless bride and groom (he even changed the schedule a bit to capitalize on the full amount of time we had at the venue). So many of our guests and family members commented on what a great job he did and how personable he was. Ultimately what we appreciated most was that Evan presents his company as organized, responsible, and professional, which really allowed us to sit back and trust that this huge component of the wedding day was completely taken care of. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone!

Mike Bell from MyDeejay, Inc. really helped throw a great party! Our family and friends thought Mike did a fabulous job; as we did too!! MyDeeJay was my #1 choice, something about thier website made me feel like they were the right ones. I appreciated how they made a point to include thier employees' charitable causes in thier bios. My fiance was not swayed by that and wanted to interview a few DJs before we selected "the one." After speaklng to a couple other DJs on the phone (after many messages left and unreturned phone calls) and getting nowhere...we decided to meet with Evan.

Evan was friendly and open and more than flexible - willing to meet us where ever and whenever was convenient for us. After signing our contract, everything went extremely smoothly. If we had any questions, he or Jennifer (wife/co-owner) would get back to us within minutes! NEVER an unreturned phone call or email message.
The week before our wedding we were still having a few issues thinking about our ceremony music so we asked Evan if he could meet with us. he was more than happy to and with his expertise, we worked on/completed all the music for our ceremony/entrance/etc. within 1/2 hour!
Evan worked with our sometimes odd requests (i.e. Frank Stallone and David Hasselhoff) without batting an eye and even sent us a special gift after our big day, An item Evan said reminded him of my (now Husband) that sits proudly a top the shelves in the "man room"

I am so lucky that I found MyDeejay for our wedding. DJ Mike Bell was AMAZING!! I had contacted a few vendors prior to contacting MyDeejay and I got the same response from all of them. They all started with a 10 minute sales pitch and then said they would pick the DJ for us without us meeting this person. I don’t know about anyone else…but I was not letting someone pick my DJ for me without me ever meeting this person. I found MyDeejay on Wedding Wire and decided around 10pm to email them, not expecting an email back until at least the following day. But Jennifer, the co-owner, emailed me back that night. She said she had a great DJ that we could meet with and decide if he was the right fit for the wedding. Jennifer certainly knows her clients because she could not have found us a better DJ.

From the very beginning Mike was professional and we could tell he loved his job by how excited he was the talk about music. When picking vendors for the wedding, it was very important to me that the vendors show an interest in our relationship. We had been together for about 12 years when we starting meeting with vendors, and I wanted them to get to know our personalities and devotion to each other. I wanted them to care about us as a couple, not just as a “client”. From the beginning Mike was eager to hear about us and our long relationship: how we met, our families, and our likes/dislikes. It was so easy to talk with Mike. Sitting down with him was like sitting down to chat with a longtime friend.

Mike was amazing at the wedding! He had everyone dancing non-stop until the end of the night. He played everything we had asked for and even some hits that we loved, but forgot to ask for…that is an example of how well he got to know us. He knew exactly the kind of music we liked. The guests also raved about the music. The wedding was a month ago, and I still have people asking who provided the music.

If you are looking for a wedding DJ, I highly recommend Mike Bell!!

John and I did not even consider hiring anyone other than Jeremy after we had our initial meeting with him, and we are so happy that we didn't! Jeremy is extremely professional, and during our meetings before the reception brought up multiple issues that I, a complete bridezilla, didn't even consider. Jeremy is an incredible musician, a skill which I think really works to his benefit in his DJ-ing career, because he has an acute sense of musical style. He has an innate ability to link together songs based on key, tone, theme, lyrics and other elements to create a seamless playlist which can span genres without feeling disjointed, allowing the reception to seamlessly flow from event to event.

Jeremy's emceeing skills are impeccable. He has amazing people skills, and can really hype up a crowd without coming across as either cheesy or intimidating. What most impressed me was Jeremy's ability to sound professional while still fun. He did not take over the spotlight, like you might find with a DJ who works at a club or a bar. I felt like John and I were completely the focus of Jeremy's commentary, which he gave with both authority and a sense of spontaneity which kept the reception from feeling stilted.

Jeremy impressed me when he was able to change up the playlist based off of the mood of the crowd and my own requests, AND when he was able to gracefully decline playing certain songs which we have determined, pre-reception, would be inappropriate with my grandmother in attendance.

To answer one of your questions, I didn't feel like there were any lulls during the reception, thanks to Jeremy's navigation of the reception. The only thing that I would have changed during the reception would have been to play more slow songs, but this is not Jeremy's fault. John and I expressed during our meetings with Jeremy that we wanted it to be a high-energy, dancing reception, and didn't think about our grandparents and older relatives, who may have enjoyed a few slow dances.

I would give Jeremy my highest recommendation. You would be hard pressed to find another DJ who is also an incredible musician and can bring his musicianship to his DJ-ing.

Ari Janjikian, from MyDeejay, went above and beyond to provide us with a professional, seamless, memorable wedding ceremony and reception. From the time that we met Ari, he was very accommodating and easy to work with. He came to our neighborhood to meet us on two separate occasions, travelling well out of his way to do so during rush hour, as our schedules required that. Every single email was met with a very quick reply and every request was followed up with action. Ari was extremely professional throughout this entire planning timeframe.

Throughout the entire wedding day, Ari was approachable and very accommodating. We had him play the music during our ceremony and it was very well done - each song was right on queue, per our planning sheet.

During the reception, he stuck to the schedule and notified us discreetly if we were deviating from it (in our case, we spent a lot of time greeting guests after dinner, which pushed out the schedule of events slightly). If we got too far out of synch, he approached us and asked our preference. He did a great job of playing the music that we chose, and filling the gaps with music to keep people dancing.

The second time we met with Ari, he was literally a minute late to our meeting (due to rush hour traffic)...and he called to tell us that. I think this speaks volumes of MyDeejay's commitment to their customers - it is obvious that they go out of their way to please their clients and treat them accordingly. Thanks Ari and MyDeejay - keep up the great work – and great job helping to make our wedding day so memorable.

Evan has been great since day one. He was open to our concerns and our ideas for our reception. They're extremely reasonably priced for what you receive. They give you a planning website to fill out prior to the wedding. There you can specify any specific songs you want and ones you don't. I had even mentioned some songs I wanted to hear during the dinner service (they were sweet songs - maybe not dance-worthy) and he was very accommodating. Very easy to work with. Evan has a great knack for feeling out the dance floor and playing songs that people want to hear. Even though people were exhausted by the end of the night - he still had them sweating, dancing, and laughing on the dance floor. If you need a reliable DJ, definitely go to My Deejay - they're fantastic.

My deejay was GREAT! SO professional and so responsive to our questions. We had Michael Bell and he was so awesome, kept everyone on the dance floor! I would certainly recommend him to anyone looking for a DJ.

Evan was great! From the first meeting we had the sense that he 'got' us, and that definitely came through on the day of. He worked hard to ensure that he had all of my husband's music requests (including some not-so-easy-to-find Australian hits), and made everything work perfectly. Our guests were on the dance floor the whole time, and many commented about how fun he was. Their services are a bit more than some of the other shops out there, but worth it.

My sister in law used mydeejay company two years ago and was very happy with their work. Therefore I did not think twice before hire mydeejay to play at our reception. The DJ assigned was Anthony Simpson and he was just amazing. Our wedding was intercultural: Brazilian plus American, and he new just what to play. Not only Anthony manage to keep the dance floor hot but he was also very helpful with our timeline. From our first meeting to the last email with follow up Anthony was consistent. DJ Evan was great! My Deejay was so easy to work with...they have a good website to use and they are very responsive. I had a great experience with Evan and My Deejay. The only semi-issue was DJ Evan really played what we had requested, which was good but I wish he had played a little more variety...he played a lot of oldies and 80's music which we loved but I think our guests wanted something a little more modern, which he did play towards the end. Everyone had a great time though, so that wasn't a huge deal and again he played exactly what we had requested. The only other thing was it was a little hard to hear him when he talked (people didn't realize that we were doing the anniversary dance). But DJ Evan did get people dancing the whole night long and everyone had a blast so everything turned out awesome...he was super easy to work with and I would recommend him and My Deejay to everyone!

Anthony Simpson was our DJ and he was EXCELLENT. He met with us prior to the wedding to review what we wanted in terms of music (a 'do' and 'do not' play list) as well as the schedule for the night. We had some requests for the cocktail hour, but left it up to him for the most part for the dancing and it was perfect. We met with Mike before booking and hit it off right away- he easily picked up on our personalities, our music styles, and how we wanted our wedding and reception to feel. He was easy to work with on the days up to the wedding and My deejay's online music system is a great way to have a couple request songs quickly and at their own pace.

When we met with him, we were still unsure about whether to have a DJ or not. Anthony's suggestions and guidance helped to make that decision very easy. He helped us come up with a basic order for the night, made suggestions on types of music and was very accommodating about removing reception traditions we not comfortable with. Throughout the night, the dance floor was packed and the music flowed seamlessly throughout the night. Both sets of parents were VERY impressed with his work and his ability to keep the party going all night. MyDeeJay provides an online website where you can select the music you want played, as well as creating a "no play" list. My husband really enjoyed that part and it was wonderful to hear so many of the songs we picked played.

Mike from MyDeejay provided the sound and music for my wedding in March. He set up the ceremony with a pedestal mic for a harpist, lapel mic for the minister and hand-held mic for the readers. He also did several hours of music for the reception and kept the evening rolling along with announcements, introductions, etc. Also, Mike included some music from our various ethnicities during the reception to include all of our guests (Fat-Persian-Indian and American wedding, no small feat) . He was very charming, classy, professional, and NOT cheesy, which was exactly what we wanted. My husband I found him a delight to work with, and my sister is planning to use him for her wedding next year. Another plus (if you're a picky bride and this matters) but Mike is very good looking, so it isn't terrible if he ends up in the background of some of your pictures. I highly recommend him.

Our DJ was Anthony, we had heard him at a friend's wedding and were thrilled to work with him at our wedding. His personality was great, he kept the dance floor packed and evening moving along smoothly. He played all of our requests and made sure anything we didn't want wasn't on the playlist. Evan, the owner of the company, was the DJ for our wedding. At first we were a bit skeptical, since we were planning to have a Hindu (Indian) ceremony and needed a DJ with experience in that. However, Evan's reference mentioned that he was excellent at conducting a Hindu ceremony.

Evan was an amazing DJ. He sat with us prior to the wedding to discuss our needs, during the ceremony he worked with the priest, reducing the music volume when needed, and he worked the reception wonderfully (including the toast, and getting people on the dance floor). He was professional throughout the entire wedding, and focused on his job (not socializing with the guests, as we have seen many other DJs do in the past).

MyDeejay is great! We had Evan at our wedding and he was amazing. He felt out the crowd and played the songs that the crowd wanted to hear. I gave him some "direction" but for the most part I left the music selection up to him, and he did a great job. MyDeejay also has all the forms to fill out online. You can do them all on your own time. They have music selection online so you can chose your "must plays" or "do not plays" right online and even hear the song if you want! It is great and REALLY helpful. Other than the initial meeting, we only needed to talk to Evan on the phone once more and he was all set with what he needed. Made it easy for us, since wedding planning takes up so much of a couples time. BUT he is there to answer any and all questions whenever you need him. His wife Jennifer is also very helpful and super friendly. If you want a fun but professional (non-cheesy) DJ, Mydeejay is exactly what you are looking for!

I highly recommend Evan and MyDeejay! Finding the right DJ was very important to my husband and I, so we started researching DJ's early in the planning process. MyDeejay was recommended to us by a friend so we set up an appointment with Evan. He started off with a great first impression by coming to our apartment! As all of you know who are planning a wedding, meeting vendors at Starbucks can get annoying. We were so excited when he offered to come to us. Within the first few minutes of our meeting, we knew Evan was the perfect DJ! He totally got our style and our taste in music and he has a great DJ voice. We booked him right away and were not disappointed the night of our wedding! He provided the music for the cocktail hour, dinner, and reception and did all of the announcements. He kept the dance floor bumping the whole night. He had my 10 year old nephew to the 30 somethings wedding party to my 80 year old grandfather out on the dance floor having a blast. And as a bonus, My Deejay is a green company! I highly recommend!

I really liked working with MyDeejay. The experience could not have been better. First, I really liked the online planning tools available through their website. My husband and I were able to user their database to pick all of our "Must Play" songs, first dance songs, etc. It was really easy to submit.

I also really liked the planning form that allowed us to set the timeline of the day so we could have the toasts, cake cutting, first dances and other events coordinated perfectly.

We worked with William who was FANTASTIC! William played all of the songs that we wanted to hear that night, and his timing was perfect. I had a great time dancing, and I heard repeatedly from our guests that they really enjoyed the music. William was also extremely professional in his announcements for our introductions, the speeches and the cake cutting.

Finally, I really appreciated how professional William was in the weeks leading up to the wedding. We had a final meeting to discuss all of the music selections and the timing of the event, which made me really comfortable that everything would go off without a hitch. William was also able to accommodate all of our last minute requests and changes even up to the day before the wedding!
