Newcastle Wedding Gardens

I had my ceremony at Newcastle Wedding Gardens and it was perfect! It's so beautiful! Everything is organized so well, I didn't have to worry about a thing in terms of the ceremony. If you want things done a certain way that differs from Georgia's opinion, she'll let you know why she disagrees, but if you're firm with her about what you want it isn't a problem. She's very organized and really does know weddings inside and out. After my experience I would definitely trust her with my ceremony!

Georgia and her staff are amazing. I didn't worry about a thing and she was always responsive if I had any questions along the way. They have a beautiful site and everything there is amazng. Georgia made my wedding day so easy and absolutely amazing.

This is an absolutely GORGEOUS place to have a wedding. I fell in love with Newcastle Wedding Gardens when we did a drive-by looking for a possible venue for my sister-in-law's wedding. When we did a tour after I was engaged a few months later, I knew it was THE PLACE I wanted to get married. If you're looking to have a fabulous outdoor garden wedding in a charming, relaxed environment, this is the place.

The ceremony garden area is lush, green and beautiful (and does not require a lot of decor/flowers, which is nice). The owners, Georgia and Stephen Barron, have done a marvelous job converting the old horse barn into a reception area with rustic elegance. You can choose to have your ceremony only, reception only, or both at this venue.

If you choose to have your reception here, there are some restrictions on vendors. You have to use their caterer (Evan Selby from La Perla Bistro), and you have to choose one of their DJ's (we used Mike Anderson from Creative Memories Entertainment). Yes, this does limit your options but I can assure you that you will not be disappointed. In my experience, wedding food is hit or miss. Our buffet was spectacular. We got a TON of compliments from family and friends (even the most picky/foodie types) on how good the food was, and Evan was extremely attentive. And our DJ was awesome to work with and did a great job at the reception.

I'd like to respond to the previous reviewer. First of all, the gratuity was in my contract and not optional. Maybe the contract has been changed within the last year, but I didn't have a problem with it because I knew about it beforehand. Second of all, I found Georgia to be extremely helpful, efficient and organized. She worked WITH me in all stages of my planning and gave me advice when I needed it. She organized the flow of our event, and it went incredibly smoothly. She has been involved in weddings for over 20 years, so she has knowledge and experience in her favor. I personally did not want to worry about what everyone was doing on my wedding day, who was supposed to be where, etc. She took care of everything.

We couldn't have found a more perfect venue for our wedding, and I would not hesitate to recommend Newcastle Wedding Gardens to future brides!

They did most of the work which was nice, I didn't have to worr about much at all!

This is an absolutely beautiful garden and venue to host a reception, but you have to be willing to put up with the personality of the owner. We had a few problems w/ her before the wedding including her adding on the "optional gratuity" to our final payment that was due 2 weeks before the wedding. I don't know about you, but if it says optional you should give people the option of paying it and not demanding it in advance of actually providing the services! On the day of the wedding she was an absolute control freak and wanted to get her way regardless of whether or not it was what my fiance and I wanted. When our photographers were not taking pictures in the area that she thought was the best location she started driving a golf cart back and forth in front of the photographers while they were trying to take pictures. It was incredibly passive-aggressive. When my fiance arrived at the venue an hour early she immediately asked him what he was doing there and that he had to leave! She lacks what normal people would call "tact" and what I would call normal politeness. If you have the ability to put your foot down and don't back down from what you want, then you will fair fine at this venue. If you or your groom are easily persuaded into doing things or adding things on that you did not originally want, then you should avoid this venue b/c you will end up with a wedding that the owner approves of, but one that you do not!

I used this site for ceremomy only and they were very accomodating. Things ran very smooth, even with the ceremony music. My musician cancelled the day before as i was heading to the rehearsal, but they said no problem and we picked out music right before the rehearsal and it was wonderful. Georgia has tons of experience and she knows how to do a job well done.
