Newport Marriott Hotel
The Newport, RI Marriot Hotel was so wonderful to work with for my wedding! I can't say enough about them.They were flexible with my budget and worked with me to get my dream wedding within my budget. They took notice of the details that are important to brides. My whole wedding was executed and planned flawlessly with them. We stopped by a week before my wedding to drop off all the decorations, etc., and I left feeling very confident that they would pull off my vision. The location is also perfect becaue its right in the harbor and within walking distance to most everything. I recommend all brides check the Marriot out! If I could afford another wedding I'd go back!
The venue was very nice, they were very attentive on the day of my wedding. There were a lot of extra charges that we didn't initially anticipate when we signed the contract.
I couldn't have decided on a better venue than the Newport Marriott. All of the employees were extremely helpful. We ran into a minor snag with the city and a road race which happened to be the same day as our wedding and the Newport Marriott was quick to respond and quick to better the situation. Service was impeccable and the food was delicious. Our day of coordinator made sure everything ran smoothly, timely and most of all stress free! I didn't have to worry about a thing!
Overall value was exceptional. We received a bridal suite the night prior which fit 8 members of the bridal party and happened to have the perfect amount of space for hair and makeup. The Newport Marriott made sure that we were comfortable and happy!
All personnel, from initial interview to post wedding period, were outstanding. All individuals demonstrated superior knowledge to inquiries and requests, were totally cooperative to our needs, and among the most attentive I and my family ever encountered. They were a credit to their profession. Special tributes go to Lisa Bettencourt, Jennifer McHugh and the head chef for the occasion, Garrett St. Amand.
The atrium setting for the cocktail reception was elegant and beautiful.
I cannot begin to explain how pleased we are that we chose The Newport Marriott for our special day. We got engaged on January 8th 2011 and began looking at venues the following week. Our first appointment was with Lisa Bettencourt from The Marriott. Lisa was amazing. She explained everything in full detail and showed us where everything would be taking place. She answered any questions we had and we were extremely pleased with her. My husband and I made the decision that night that we want to hold our wedding and reception there. Throughout the months of wedding planning, Lisa or anyone on her team would promptly return phone calls and emails, sometimes even after work hours for them just to make sure that we got the information we needed. I was asked several times by many people if planning my wedding was stressful. My honest response was that it really wasn't. When you work with a great team of people and vendors, their top priority is to make things as easy as possible for you and that's exactly what they did for us! We got married on 9/10/11 and the staff at The Marriott was impeccable. Throughout the day if I needed anything, I got it. There was one particular time of that day I would like to share. We got married at 6:00pm so we had some time during the day to do what we wanted to do and we weren't rushed. My bridesmaids and I went downstairs for brunch and on the way back up to our suite, we were getting on the elevator and there were people working on the elevator we got on. The gentleman looks at me and says "I believe it's you who we are setting this up for....are you the bride?" I smiled and said yes. Three hours later, they were still working on the elevator to make sure my grand entrance into the ceremony was perfect! And it was!!! Our reception was amazing. When my drink was almost empty, another one was being handed to me by the Marriott staff. Another thing that was VERY impressive to me, my husband and our families was that often throughout the night, the staff went up to the parents of the bride and the parents of the groom to make sure everything was ok or if they needed anything. It was just an overall PERFECT experience. To future brides, you dream of your wedding day your entire life and it should be the best day of your life. Mine was everything I dreamed about and more and The Marriott played a HUGE role in that! Best of luck to all who is getting married in the near future! It definitely is an experience of a lifetime!!!
It was such a pleasure to work with the staff at the Marriott, planning a wedding from long distance is always stressful but working with Jennie Haywood Howell was a pleasure in the planning and working Jennie and Amber in the execution, just put my mind at ease.
As I said to my mother, not everything always go exactly as you initially plan, but I wouldn't have changed a thing about how everything actually went!
We used the spa for hair and makeup. The spa was wonderful-relaxing and very flexible with our large group.
Newport Marriott was the most wonderful experience. I could not have dreamed of a more magical and perfect day.
My experience was outstanding. I am actually an event planner and I can honestly say that the Newport Marriott delivered on everything it promised. Actually, it delivered more than what I had expected and my expectations are high considering what I do. Every aspect was perfect.
Lisa Bettencourt at the Newport Marriott has hosted many events, but the two events I was involved in were extra special. She is very organized and particular about how her events are handled. She takes care of vistors and other professionals in the industry. Every experience I have ever had with at the Newport Marriott whether it be personal or professional, was EXCELLENT in everything that they do! I would highly recommend the Newport Marriott for any event!
