Next Exit was PERFECT for my wedding reception! I wanted fun, interactive, and live entertainment for my guests and they DELIVERED. I thought their price was more than fair for all they did. They are professional and were well prepared for the event and they listened to what we wanted. They were a perfect package since they were also able to do the talking before we got to the dancing. I would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for a fun and no-worry reception.

We have seen Next Exit several times before our wedding, so we knew what we would be getting. They are a lot of fun and helped us plan our wedding reception perfectly. Sean, the lead singer, had a worksheet for us to fill out so he knew what we wanted to do (or not) at our wedding. They interacted with the crowd at the reception by handing out tambourines and blow up guitars. That made for some fun pictures. They play a great mix of rock music that people know. I highly recommend Next Exit!
About Next Exit
Rockin' Receptions with Next Exit
You’re celebrating the biggest day of your life. When all the formal stuff is over and it’s time to let your veil down (or would that be up?), you want folks off their seats and on their feet. You want to throw a party that friends and family will be talking about for years. Where's the fun in playing air guitar to a pre-recorded track when Uncle Bob could be rockin' out, shoulder to shoulder, with a Next Exit ax grinder? So ditch the DJ and literally liven things up. Why?
People will stick around for the party - There's little mystery in a DJ, but fill a stage with keyboards, guitars and drums, and people want to see what it's all about.
Better memories - With so much happening, there's always a reason to have your camera ready.
It's just more fun - Guitarists roaming the dance floor, a bridesmaid shaking the tambourine, even the bride and groom playing a little cowbell.
But it's not "all show"....
Next Exit does more than simply put on a great performance for a few hours at the end of the reception.
In addition to the live show itself, Next Exit offers the following services:
- Master of Ceremonies (all of the announcing)
- Planning via an online sheet that is also accessible to the band that walks you through creation of the reception itinerary and music selection.
- Pre-recorded music during cocktail hour, dinner, introductions, special dances and breaks. Next Exit has a large library of tunes from which to choose, or you can provide your own.
- If cocktail hour is in another room in the hall, a small sound system can be provided for the area.
- Wireless microphone for toasts, speeches, etc.
- Sound reinforcement for the ceremony is also available
It’s in the details
Putting on a great live show involves much more than a group of good musicians. The performers may be great, but what matters is the overall presentation. For this you need well-planned production with a sound system made up of quality components. Here are some of the thing Next Exit does to produce a successful event:
- The modern and efficient sound system is complete with subwoofers and, if needed, side fill speakers that allow folks on either side of the performance area to hear announcements.
- Much of the lighting uses extremely efficient LED technology. This not only minimizes heat, but drastically reduces power requirements of the venue.
- Backups of all critical gear allow the show to go on no matter what.
- At the end of the night, the band packs up in under an hour. This minimizes clean up time, meaning you don’t have to rent the hall for as long.
Where the rubber meets the road ... what are people saying about
At the end of the day all that really matters is how successful the event was. It’s quite likely you will have never seen the band in person prior to booking them. We have many comments from past wedding clients available on our website.
FAQ for Next Exit
In the end though you need to ask yourself if you have a "dancing group". If not, no band or DJ, is going to whip a crowd into a frenzy if it's just not the crowd's thing. In this case the expense of a band or DJ may not be warranted. That said, don't think that just because the dance floor isn't packed all night that people aren't enjoying themselves. Especially with older crowds, you'll find they sit and enjoy the music more than dance. We get a ton of compliments at the end of the night from people I didn't see on the dance floor all night.
Meal requirements depend on the event, are outlined in the contract and would occur prior to the performance (we won't stop to eat). Generally meals are required, but can be of the "boxed lunch" variety.
