Reviews for Next Exit Photography
Next Exit are absolutely AMAZING! They were the first photographers we met with and we instantly clicked, but we interviewed three other photographers just to make sure our choice was solid. Next Exit - with their photojournalistic style and our chemistry with them - had raised the bar so much that the others we interviewed didn't even compare!
We had a blast taking engagement photos with Cat & Adi (Next Exit) on the beach back in September, which was great practice for the big day. Along the way, Cat was super, super responsive to all my questions.
On the big day, they were so great to work with! Chemistry with your photographer really does make a big difference. They made it easy for everyone to relax and everyone thought they were great!
When we saw the pics from our wedding, we about died because they were so beautiful and EXACTLY what Brent and I had hoped for!
All my married friends who have seen them have commented that they wish they could go back in time and hire Next Exit instead - they're really that great!
We'll continue to use Next Exit for all our photography needs - pregnancy photos, kids' portraits, family portraits, serously! TIP: Don't skimp on the cost of your photography! It's an everlasting record of your big day and something you shouldn't regret!
Along with our coordinator, Heather from Martinis & Bliss, Cat and Adi from Next Exit Photography were our favorite vendors. Cat was our "official" photographer and contact person, and she was very patient about answering all of my constant e-mails. She even forgave me for being 45 minutes late to our engagement picture session. :-o
I told Cat a few weeks before the wedding that we really needed to get our proof album within three weeks of the wedding, because we were going back to Illinois for a second reception and we wanted to be able to show it to all of our relatives. Not only did she get our beautiful proof album to us before we left, she snuck us to the front of the line and blogged us early so our relatives who couldn't make it to California could have a preview.
I would be willing to recommend them strictly on the basis of their responsiveness and professionalism, but, luckily, they're amazingly talented photographers, too!
One wedding coordinator under a bride's dress. Check.
Yes, this is the brilliance of Cat and Adi. With light barely lingering, Cat suggested we take care of two things at once. I bustled the bride's dress while she shot a few romantics before the light was gone. I was hidden, and you would never guess I was there.
This is how it always is when I work with them. They are a fluid team, doing a dance of accomplishing as much as they can in a short amount of time.
Their pictures are always gorgeous! They capture moments you didn't even realize were happening. What's even better is they know how to use Photoshop! I watched Adi take 10 pounds off a bride one time with the simple twitch of the mouse and a press of a button. Gone! If only real life could work that way!
They work hard. They play hard. I've watched them go to extremes to make a couple feel comfortable. I even watched Adi fixate on the unsmiling mother of the bride, waiting for the precise moment a smile was cracked. Yes - he caught that moment too.
In my opinion, Cat and Adi at Next Exit Photography are some of the best wedding photographers in town. The moments they capture never look staged or stiff. Lucky for us, they've recently expanded into doing children's photos as well as the occasional actor or studio portrait.
I LOVE Next Exit...I couldn't be happier booking them for our wedding this summer. We had Adi as our main photographer and he was amazing!! Please note, I am writing this before I have even seen our pictures! I am so happy, I just know our pictures will be everything I dreamed of. They are super easy to work with from the beginning of the process until the end. Adi also took our engagement photo's and they are beautiful! Adi was like part of the family the day of the wedding, everyone loved him. He made my husband and I so at ease in front of the camera. I have already sent friends to Next Exit and I wanted to be sure and send all of you too! They really are the best!
I will be sure and post a link to pics as soon as they are out!
Amazing work they do! I am in love with our proofs and I cannot wait until we get our album! Money well spent!
Two Words – Phenomenal Photographer! Again, I knew I had to meet Adi after seeing his photos in another bride’s bio, and we booked him on the spot. His artistic vision and eye for capturing detail is amazing. He made us feel so comfortable and at ease throughout the entire wedding, including the hour of formal portraits! My DH and I both agree that we could not have asked for a better photographer. He was there the entire evening, from getting ready to saying goodbye in the limo. We received all of our proofs (all 600+ of them!!!!) in a gorgeous leather-bound proof album that Cathryn organized for us! We cannot stop looking at our wonderful pictures! In addition, all of our photos are posted on their online website so family and friends can order prints directly from Next Exit, and we don’t have to deal with the hassle! He captured looks on faces and tears and smiles in photos that we will cherish forever, scouted out great photo-op locations, and I remember seeing him in the middle of the dance floor doing the Hora taking some of the most fantastic action shots of the wedding! Adi caught so many wonderful moments throughout our day that we would have missed had he not been there. I call that priceless!
I knew from all the talk on the knot that I had to have Cat & Adi for my wedding photographers. They are amazing! I just love their style and they got great shots throughout the entire wedding. I had so many people compliment on how Adi was everywhere and got all the details along with so many wonderful pictures. I am so happy I chose them as my wedding day photographers. I love my proofs and was amazed at all the different angles and styles used. HIGHLY recommend!
When my husband and I were first looking for photographers over a year ago, we were looking for a team with the skills, talent, and professionalism, without the attitude. We were nervous enough already in front of the camera without having to feel uncomfortable with the person behind it. Cat & Adi were everything we hoped for and more! Although their photos will more than show that they are true rock star artists, Cat & Adi's down-to-earth nature make it so easy to feel comfortable around them. In fact, I don't know how they did it, but they somehow managed to convince my shy, conservative, Asian parents to dance together at our wedding. That was the first, and perhaps, last time I'll ever see such a sight. So thank you Cat & Adi from the bottom of my heart for making it happen & capturing it on film for all eternity.
When the wedding is over, pictures & memories are what is left. With Next Exit Photography, you can trust that they will take care of what is most important.
P.S. Cat really does get back to you THAT quickly and she is THAT patient & informative. She is AMAZING!!!
We interviewed about 5 different photographers for our wedding (pics are important!) and Next Exit Photography not only had the best quality work, but they were the most personable team. Their work is simply amazing and we would choose them as our wedding photographer again in a heartbeat if we had to. Not only were we more than happy with how all of the photos turned out, they were such a pleasure to work with throughout the entire process, it made things so incredibly easy. Everyone keeps telling me how all of our pictures look like they came out of a bridal magazine and we owe it all to Next Exit. Do yourself a huge favor...save the stress of looking for a photographer and use Next Exit! It will be the best decision of your whole wedding.
If I could give 'em 10 stars, I would...

WE GOT THE BEST PHOTOS!!! Gotta give 'em props

I have yet to write my full wedding round-up (wonder if I'll ever Actually do it) but I feel compelled to at least write a quickie post regarding our how incredibly ELATED we are with the work our photographers, Next Exit Photography.
This L.A.-based (but I know they travel) couple was our first choice, and we're SO glad we decided to follow our gut & hire them. Indeed, they were the only photographers we met with - 30 minutes with Cat and Adi and we just knew that no one else would do. Their easy humor and attention to our needs (including running interference for me w/a relative I didn't exactly want to see that day) made them a no-brainer, and now that we've seen our photos, we are absolutely bowled over and are telling anyone who'll listen - engaged or not - that they should turn to Next Exit for any of their photography needs.
Their creativity and relaxed energy really shines through in our fun, non-traditional (and yet somehow timeless) photos. They put us and our guests completely at ease, and were totally non-intrusive the entire day. It's crazy - we were going through our proofs (which we got pretty quickly!) and we didn't remember 1/2 of the photos being taken which is, I think, the mark of a good wedding photographer - they flew under the radar, but were present for all these great moments!
Check out their blog post about us which includes 27 of our photos. If you'd like to see more of our shots (which are hilarious, beautiful, etc), send me a message and I'll send you the link to our full gallery.

Considering they're our most tangible reminder of our wedding (DON'T SKIMP!!!), we couldn't be happier with our photos.
And I can't lie - it's awesome to keep getting emails from our friends and family telling us they're the best wedding photos they've ever seen!
Cheers,
Gina
Adi and Cat of Next Exit Photography are a married, dynamic couple who run their business out of their adorable house in West Los Angeles (with their recently added studio located in their backyard). They're funny, completely down-to-earth (which makes you instantly comfortable with them) and incredibly personable. They treat every client like they're the only client. Adi and Cat are never too busy for a chat or a question (even a dumb one).
All these compliments and I haven't even gotten to the best part....their photography. Although I've only had the pleasure of working with them once (my engagement pictures).......
http://nextexitphotography.com/blog/?p=69
I see the proof in their blog and brand new website. Every wedding, family portrait, engagement session, event and pregnancy picture.....perfect. They have a way of catching every moment while remaining seemingly invisible. If I had to pick one thing I love the most, it's the photojournalistic style.....beautiful.
Planning a wedding in California from England was no easy feat and the best decision we made by far was choosing Next Exit. Cat and Adi and associate Stephanie were amazing. They held my hand along the way and on the day were so incredibly professional and fun as well. Adi’s creative ideas take wedding photography to a whole new level. These are not wedding photos – they are art pieces. You will treasure every image they take – the only hard bit is to choose which ones to put in your album and frames. I am trying to find excuses to visit California again just so that I can get them to take family portraits.
Cat and Adi were the most amazing team I have ever worked with. Adi did our engagement session, and managed to get the exact "mood" we were going for. He helped us get more comfortable with the camera before our wedding day, and was gladly willing to travel to several locations (traffic and all!)
As for the wedding day, Cat & Adi were truly sensational! They both carry such a positive energy, with tons of comic relief during all the stress! Have any nervous youngsters in your wedding party? They made such an effort to make sure EVERYONE was comfortable. I'll never forget Cat carrying my lip gloss in her fanny pack the entire night just to make sure I was in tip-top shape!
Their photo-journalistic style makes you look like you just came out of a magazine shoot. The photo's are so natural making sure to capture every smile, every tear, and every moment of joy on one of the most memorable days of your life! They truly ROCK!

We LOVED our photos! Next Exit did an amazing job..the photos are fantastic. Adi and Stephanie were so much fun to work with. We can't thank them enough! We are so happy with the way the photos turned out. The shots are so artistic and beautiful. Can't wait for our album!!
We just booked!!! They were awesome booking. Update once I take the pics! WOOOO their stuff is beautiful!
This is one of the few vendors I have second-guessed. They are amazing! Our wedding isn't until September, but they shot our engagement photos and my boudoir shot (well, just Cat shot that one). I'm not sure if I know how to post pics, but by Knottie bio (under LoLoSup) has tons of pics!
This is a highly professional wedding photography outfit. Cat and Adi are both great photographers, with a great instinct for what shots will work. They photograph in a documentary style which adds life to the photos beyond the usual wedding photo standard fare. Cat and Adi manage to get great photos without being intrusive or obstructive, and they manage to use their cameras to add to the festivity of the occassion. They both have great personalities and helped make our guests feel at ease. And the photos are just incredible. We could not have asked for a better record of this most memorable day of our lives. If you are looking for a wedding photographer, look no further. You definitely want this team to photograph your wedding.
Next Exit was by far our favorite vendor. Cat and Adi are a husband and wife team, and they are the best. After doing a lot of looking online, I had really decided that I wanted them to shoot our wedding. We went and interviewed them and booked them before we left. They were the only photogs we interviewed. We clicked and we knew that we were in for a great result. They do amazing work and everyone who has seen our pictures has said that they are some of the best wedding pictures they have ever seen.

Next Exit was the best decision I made other than my choice in groom:)
Cat and Adi were amazing to work with and made our wedding experience unforgetable. Not only were the final images gorgeous and artistic, but the photographers seemed be everywhere, without actually being overwhelming. I was a wedding planner before i got married and my biggest advice to brides was to make sure that they "liked" their vendors- not just for the work they did, but for HOW they did it and the attitude they brought to the event. Next exit surpassed all our expectations and made us feel so at ease! I highly recommend Next Exit. Photographs are one of they best ways to look back on the memories made....i love our pictures and we get compliments on them all the time!! (price includes engagement session, wedding photographs and album)
I'm crying at how beautiful the photos are......i can't wait for Mark to see
them. Thank you so much for capturing the essence of our special occasion
in such a beautiful way........I am so grateful.
I can't wait to see the others......... consider yourself the official photographer for life!!!!!

Hi Cat
Just seen the photos on your blog and I am so amazed and stunned! They are amazing photos - not just beautifully lit and composed but also capturing how happy we were. Thank you so much - so clever and talented. I have been sharing your blog with everyone and the Next Exit word is spreading! I wouldn't be surprised if you get commissions on both sides of the Atlantic now!!!! Thank you so much and I know I will be writing more gushing emails when I'm not traveling and have a little more time at the computer.
best wishes
Lauren
OH MY GOD, AMAZING!!!!
My family is going to be blown away.
Thank you thank you thank you thank you.
WOW!!! These are some stunningly gorgeous, seriously sweet, amazingly hot
photos! I'm running out of adjectives here...Bravo Next Exit!!! Are
you sure you didn't pull a few of these out of a magazine??? You really
covered all the bases with such beautiful photos of a special couple, dear
friends and family that really captured all the fun and emotions of the day.
Krista was so radiant and remarkably serene, and you captured that
perfectly! Krista and John have such a deep connection and love for each
other and these photos truly reflect that. The lighting and diverse
locations and backgrounds are fantastic...never thought you'd venture behind the church and discover the bridle trail. The series of shots with Krista climbing through the fence are too funny, and so her! My heart swells with pride and joy as I look at these and I'll treasure them and the wonderful memories they bring, forever. Well done. Couldn't be happier and can't wait to see the rest of them! Thank you so much and wishing you continued success in the New Year!!!
Pam (mother of the bride)
Dear Adi and Cat,
Thank you soo much! The two of you were wonderful, efficient,
creative....We had the greatest time, and are so excited to see your
pictures. I think a key factor was that we really like you two just as
people, so were very comfortable that you would be as meticulous as we would be. We can't wait to see all of the prints and the final book!
Thank you again! All of our guests were so impressed! You are such professionals, and we feel privileged to have worked with you during the earlier years, before you guys become mega famous (which we know you will be!).!
Take to you soon! Evie and Vince
I was the maid of honor for my twin sister's wedding in the summer of 2006. I was by my sister's side from the day we met Cat and Adi at their home for the initial meeting to the day she walked down the aisle. Not only are Cat and Adi amazing photographers, but having them share the day with our family was like inviting two more good friends to the wedding.
Everyone was thrilled with the end results - amazing group shots (the ones the parents need!), great candids that you remember happening only after you see the photos and pictures of memories that will last a lifetime.

PS Attached is the spread that was published in the Knot Magazine!!!
Hey Cat and Adi!
Hamilton and I want to thank you for being part of our amazing day!! You guys were incredible. We feel so blessed to have met you both!
Can't wait for you to shoot our babies some day!!!:)
Lots of love
Ham and Erin
Hello our most favorite photographers in the whole wide world. My husband and I wanted to first of all thank you for the wonderful job you did at our wedding! We were absolutely comfortable the whole day b/c of you two. I know we've said this before, but you truly feel like more than just photographers. You diffused situations, you helped us remain calm and you always, and I mean always make us laugh! We had the time of our lives on our wedding day, but we can honestly say it was even more fun b/c you two were there!!!! We are thrilled to death and are so absolutely ecstatic that you were our photographers. Anyhow, can't wait to see the rest, we are so excited and truly believe that you are the cream of the crop, top notch, most talented photographers ever!!!!!!!!!!

Dear Cadi (like brangelina or tomkat) cat + adi is cadi (in case you haven't figured it out by now hehe)
I just want to say many thanks for making us laugh and feel at ease, thank you for controlling the chaos that goes on during a wedding, thank you for the witty banter, thank you for holding my lipstick, thank you for keeping the energy up and thank you most of all for sharing our wedding day with us! I can't wait to see all the fun photos, too bad we didn't have a video camera to capture the stench someone left for us in the Langham elevator or the shock on our faces when we found you know what shooting in Old Town! That was something special…ahh…the memories! We had so much fun with you both!
Love you guys

About Next Exit Photography
Recommended by
With a creative and comfortable style, with energy and determination, husband and wife, Cat and Adi Benner have become two of the most sought after wedding photojournalists in Southern California and around the globe. Next Exit Photography is known for its magazine-worthy images full of heart and emotion. More importantly, it is recognized for its unmatched quality of service and familial devotion to their clients since opening their thriving studio in 2002. While their wedding work leans towards editorial style photojournalism, Cat and Adi also create fashion forward images and drool-worthy portraiture.
Adi Benner is known for his unique documentary style approach. He has an innate skill for capturing the couple in almost any environment from a lush garden to a dark hallway, an old train track or florescent filled fast food restaurant. At weddings, clients appreciate Adi’s sense of humor and camaraderie, which he combines with his artistic eye and acute awareness to capture the most spontaneous and genuine interactions.
Cat loves a natural, lifestyle approach to her images, but excels in relaxed portraiture. She has a laid-back attitude but would never be accused of lacking assertiveness. Her clients treat her like one of the girls and she excels at making the family and guests feel at ease as she snaps away. She’ll climb on hotel furniture and crawl in muddy parks to get the perfect shot. Cat worked at Martha Stewart Living in NYC before moving back to her home town, Los Angeles, where she met her future hubby and business partner, Adi.
Next Exit’s wedding and portrait images have been published in The Knot Magazine, Bride’s Magazine, Pacific Weddings, Your Wedding Day, Brideworld, Southern Weddings Magazine, People, Newsweek, Billboard and the Los Angeles Times.

Betty and Matt | La Venta Inn Wedding Photographer
Adi and I have shot a ton of weddings together this season and we had so much fun. We have the best clients. Betty and Matt are certainly no exception. They are one of the sweetest peeps ever! Betty is even going so far as to try to help me find a place to live while we knock down Casa de Next Exit. And, she reviewed us up the kazoo all over the web and said such nice things. (I owe you $5 bucks)
The wedding was just perfect and Tim Kennedy, the Event Coordinator at La Venta was a dream to work for. (Tim, have you booked your wedding photographer yet?
)
Betty said that her parents had never danced together before, so I worked a little of my magic and poof. I think I made her a very happy bride that night.

Remember the fires in La Cañada? Yeah, the ones just a few weeks ago?
Well, this wedding almost got canceled because Descanso Gardens (where ultimately, the perfect wedding was held) was truly in the eye of the storm.
No, the groom didn’t have to wear the gas mask, in fact, the air wasn’t too bad at all. A few ashes in the air and warm glowy light (see group photos below).
I totally adore this couple and they made me feel like an old friend. Too bad they live in Atlanta, Georgia, come visit me soon!
