While Devin was hard to get a hold of, and at times I felt like he was talking to me like I was an idiot, that's not that big of a deal: if he delivered as DJ, it would be all good. Unfortunately he didn't deliver as a DJ during our reception.

Devin rocked our ceremony. Absolutely wonderful. Big props to him for the ceremony music and mics.

Devin did not rock our reception. The biggest problem was that I gave a list of songs and artists that we liked (and wanted to hear). The list wasn't long, and almost all of the songs were popular top 40 type of songs (e.g. I asked for Telephone by Lady Gaga -- what DJ wouldn't have that song?!) or extremely popular types of songs (like the most famous Beatles songs). I sent the list with plenty of time to the DJ. Almost none of the songs were played. Instead, during my reception, I had to go up and "request" Lady Gaga. The DJ (I had both Devin and another DJ) asked if I wanted Telephone or some other Lady Gaga song (forget which one), and I said Telephone. He played some OTHER, less well known Lady Gaga song -- not even one of the two he mentioned! I even talked to Devin extensively on the phone a few days before my wedding about my music and we talked about the list of songs I sent. Devin acknowledged by talking about some of the artists on the lists and how he had their music and it would be taken care of (artists like Chris Brown, Outkast, Black Eyed Peas). These songs/artists were NEVER played. Another song Devin and I talked about (American Boy by Estelle), Devin said had bad words in it. I wasn't too familiar with the song since it had been the request of a friend who really wanted the song played, so I just trusted Devin's word. I recently listened to the song, and there wasn't so much as an "a**" or "damn" or ANY bad lyric in it!!

Finally, what put us over the top about this DJ was that he CUT OFF THE ENDING of our first dance song!!! We had practiced a tango routine for almost 4 months, and were really proud and excited to surprise everyone with it. At the end, Devin cut into our music with some horrible Kenny G type sounding saxophone music. I am incredibly disappointed that this happened. And we have it all on video to live on in infamy. Ugh.
