My husband and I LOVED Now That's a DJ! Robb Young is so friendly and very professional, he was able to read the crowd and keep everyone out on the dance floor. Throughout the planning process whenever I would hear or think of a song that I wanted him to play I would just log in to our "Client Login" through the Now That's a DJ website and be able to manage everything from that, it was so EASY! After the wedding, we had a ton of family and friends telling us what a great DJ we had. Thanks so much for making our night so memorable!!

We're very pleased with Robb's service. I felt that the DJ part was the least to let me worry about in the whole wedding planning and it was due to Robb's responsiveness and professionalism. Additonally, I felt we got the best value - we had a small wedding and didn't want or need to spend a grand on DJ and Robb was one of the best choices with the right price and services.

Robb did a wonderful job for my reception and I couldn't be happier. He was perfectly professional and friendly. I have never seen more people out dancing for that length than I did at my wedding (and I'm not being bias!). He went to great lengths to make sure we had the music we wanted and kept the show running and on schedule. The props he gave out during certain songs really added to the fun atmosphere and got people out there dancing that I wouldn't normally see. I will be recommending him to everyone!

We were VERY pleased with our DJ choice! He showed up a few hours early to get everything set up, he was very flexible meeting with us, and he was very professional at the wedding. He read the crowd extremely well and got everyone on the floor dancing.
We were very glad we went with Now That's a DJ!

My wife and I couldn't have been more happy with our DJ (Robb) on our reception night. What really stood out with Now that's a DJ was how patient he was. With all the work involved with planning a wedding things can get a little stressful. Once we met with Robb we knew that was one less thing we had to worry about. He took the time to learn what out likes and dislikes were and who our audience was going to be. The night was perfect! He played everything we requested and was completely flexible with other requests from our guests. We just wanted to thank him for helping make us make our special night as fun as it was. You won't be dissapointed with Now that's a DJ!!

I hired Now That's a DJ for my wedding reception and it was one of the best decisions my wife and I made for 2 reasons. First, his ability to read the crowd. If you're like me you're scared of having one of those weddings where nobody dances. Our dance floor was PACKED from the first song to the last. Second, is his organization. Robb sat down with us and planned the order of events. And when we weren't sure of something he made a suggestion (which helped a lot). Then he executed our plans for the evening seamlessly. I highly recommend Now That's a DJ for because my guests genuinely had a great time at the reception.

Now That’s a DJ has the experience you need to create a memorable occasion. With more than 25 years entertaining at weddings, your DJ will know the right music to play and the right thing to say.

Our catalog is filled with a wide variety of HITS. Each song is cataloged creating an easy system to find the right song at the right time to play it.

We will meet with you prior to your event to assist in planning your reception schedule. We will also help you pick your music. We will provide lists of the most popular songs played as well as take as many of your requests as you would like to hear.

Our philosophy is simple: If you like it, we like it. If you hate it, we really hate it. Our goal is to make sure that by the time your date arrives; we know exactly what you expect from us.

During your reception we will work closely with your caterer and your photographer. We will assist in facilitating your reception to ensure that you have a worry free event.

Most importantly, we believe that this is your day and we will display complete professionalism during your event. We will be dressed in full tuxedos and will not drink or smoke during the reception.

Robb Young has been entertaining at wedding receptions since 1984. He began his career in St. Louis and has been a DJ in Missouri, Colorado, Ohio, Arizona, and most recently in Indiana. Sometimes Robb was working for other DJ companies and other times owning them. He had a very successful business in Indiana for several years, but due to family obligations, Robb has found himself back where he started. What music genres are in your collection?

Do you have liability insurance?

Yes

Describe your DJ style:

My job is to be the DJ you want me to be. If you want a DJ who gets the crowd going or just a DJ who let's the music work the dance floor, I can fit what you are looking for. It's actually a choice on my questionairre.

Is there a limit to the amount of music that can be requested?

You can provide as many or as little requests as you want to. I provide a Top 20 request page that would be your most important requests, but I will play as many as I can in the time provided. It's your day!

What is your usual attire?

Always a tuxedo for weddings!

If you do not have one of the songs pre-requested by the client, do you require that they provide it?

Only if the song is something that I can't find. I request the music list far enough in advance so I can usually find the song needed. If you want to provide a CD, I am willing to use it.

How many other DJs do you work with?

Right now I am the only DJ for my company. I have been doing this for 25 years!

What is the minimum amount of time you will DJ for?

My minimum time is 3 hours. Less than that would be for special or unusual occasions.

Is the client able to meet the DJ before booking?

This is a best practice for me. I like to meet with you before we sign a contract to make sure that we are a good fit for eachother.

Do you specialize in any ethnic or international events?

I am a traditional wedding DJ and this is my specific niche. I am happy to accommodate any groups, but I would need specific assistance on music selection.

Can the client submit a do-not-play list?

Our motto is: If you like it, we like it. If you hate it, we really hate it! It's your day and you can post as many DO NOT PLAY songs as you want!

Do you bring your own equipment?

All of my equipment is professional grade sound equipment and back-up equipment is readily available when needed.

What (if any) special equipment, such as disco balls or lighting, is offered with your service?

A full light show is provided and is currently included in my overall price.

How much time do you usually need to set up? Do you require that the site or client provide a table for you to set up on?

I arrive about 1 1/2 hours before the event starts to make sure that I have everything ready for your event. I ask for an 8 foot skirted table. I do have a table cloth and table in the event that the hall can not provide one.

Do you have any extra space requirements?

I only need enough room to set up the equipment and room to stand behind the table. I also prefer to be close to the dance floor.

Do you have a sign or banner that you use at events?

NO! My thoughts on this is that if a person is interested in my services they will ask for a card or ask the bride and groom at a later date who their DJ was.

Do you usually emcee the event or talk between songs?

Absolutely! My job is to assist in the facilitation of the entire event. I will MC from your entrance, through dinner and the entire night of dancing.

How would you motivate the crowd if no one is dancing?

Typically, when we meet, I will ask you about your guests. What kind of crowd are they. This helps me determine how much dancing they will do. Also, you know your guests and the music that they like - Most of the time this will get the dance floor going. Additionally, there are some typical crowd favorites that are timeless and work at most receptions.

What is your policy on taking breaks? If you require a meal break, do you require that the client provide your meal?

I don't take breaks. You have hired me to provide music and facilitate your reception. I don't eat, drink, or smoke during the event. OK, I drink a lot of water!

Will you arrange for recorded music to play during your breaks?

The music NEVER stops!

What is your backup plan in case you become unavailable on the day of the event?

Well, this is a great question! I have never missed a wedding in 25 years! However, I know that something could happen sometime and I have other DJ's who I work with that are able to step in.

Do you book yourself for more than one event in a day?

Only in rare occasions will I book more than one reception in a day. The ONLY exception to this rule is if the reception is in the same location or near the other reception, and there is plenty of time in between the two events.

What is your overtime rate?

For events that are less than 4 hours, the overtime fee is $100 per hour. After 5 hours, the fee drops to $35 an hour.

Do you charge for travel expenses? If yes, how much do you charge?

I do charge for traveling more than 50 miles from St. Louis. The fee is $50 and that covers gas and partial lodging if needed.

What is the required deposit to secure your services?

The retainer fee is $150 and it is deducted from your overall balance. The retainer amount is required when a contract is signed.
