You will not regret going with Obsidian Eye...Marlene is the best! You will defintely not have to worry about getting the "right" shot b/c you'll see at the end that you have about 100's of the "right" shots! :) She's great :)

Marlene & Susan (2nd photog) were AMAZING....they beautifully captured our day & our photos were edited & ready to view very quickly! Everyone has commented that our photos are beautiful, I couldn't think of anyone else I would have wanted to do our wedding!!!

Marlene was amazing. Not only is she an extremely gifted photographer but she is a great person and fun to be around. She has a way of calming down stressed brides like myself and really ensured that the best photos possible were taken. I love to look back at photos from my special day. Her photos were dramatic but not staged. I loved the outcome and I'd recommend her to any of my friends.

The dress hanging in the doorway, the veil spread out on the bed, the shoes set atop a cushion, the excitement as a beautiful woman transforms into a gorgeous bride, aided by her loyal bridesmaids. The best man’s hands shaking as he adjusts the boutonniere on the groom, the beads of sweat that collect on the groom’s forehead, the laughter that dots those final moments before the walk down the aisle. The beautiful flowers, the borrowed and blue something, the embraces and many kisses, the magic in a day that will stay on the minds of two people united in love surrounded by the people who love them.

Documenting such an important day in the lives of two special people is something that photographer I live for. I thrive on building relationships with my couples, and choosing me to document your day means you have someone who will go to great lengths to capture the beauty of your bond. I want to know why he makes you blush any time he comes into a room, and the moment you knew she was the one for you, and be able to document that in images that will last a lifetime.

I love meeting couples, listening to how they found each other, and getting the opportunity to express their story in images.

What primary photographic style do you identify with?

Contemporary, Photojournalism, Portraiture, Traditional / Posed

What do your packages include?

Albums, Custom Graphic Design, Digital Files, Flush Mount, High Resolution Images, Matted Prints, Prints, Proof CD of All Images, Thank You Cards, Video Montage

Do you have liability insurance?

Yes

Do you offer special techniques such as hand-coloring or toning?

Yes.

Do you have experience shooting in various lighting situations?

I prefer to shoot in natural or ambient light settings, but am also very experienced in lighting locations and people artificially.

Is your media preference film or digital?

I will shoot your wedding mostly with digital equipment, but sometimes like the organic feel of film and tend to lug my Holga or trusty TLR camera around with me.

How many photographers do you work with?

While I am capable of shooting your wedding alone, I usually bring along an assistant to capture the scenes of your special day from a different perspective.

Do you guarantee your presence at the actual event?

Yes, I guarantee my presence and my second shooter's presence at your event.

What kind of equipment do you typically bring with you on the day-of?

I work with top of the line Canon camera bodies and lenses.

Do you bring back-up equipment to the event in case of malfunction?

I always carry backup equipment with me to every wedding I shoot.

Do you charge hourly or full day?

I offer several wedding collections and also provide a la carte pricing for clients interested in building their own collection. I also design custom collections upon request. 

Checks & major credit cards accepted. A 25% non-refundable retainer is required to book your wedding. Please refer to my 'Contact' page on my website if you would like any more information.

Do you charge for travel?

Yes, I am available for travel on a limited basis. Travel fees will apply.

What kind of albums do you offer?

I believe your album should last a lifetime, and I am very excited to offer the very best albums from KISS Wedding Books, Couture Books, and Leather Craftsmen.
