Mike definitely made our wedding a blast. You know the DJ was amazing when you have a full dance floor for 4 hours during our reception and another 2 hours during the after glow party. Mike also provided us with a lighted monogram of our name which definitely personalized the wedding. I would recommend him to anyone that was looking for a DJ. He was very easy to work with and kept our wedding running smoothly.

My husband and I looked into DJ's for a long time before finding Mike, but we knew from our initial meeting with him that he had the vibe that we wanted for our reception. In the beginning, we were a little unsure of whether the cost was a little too much, but now, we would pay that all over again, because he is definitely worth the money and everyone had a great time. Leading up to our wedding day, Mike was wonderful to work with, even through communication glitches, he was very accommodating. The night of the wedding, the dance floor was packed at all times and Mike was very responsive to the guests and what they liked. Throughout the night, Mike was constantly in touch with us and made sure he knew the schedule of events. Everyone was thoroughly impressed and kept asking us who our DJ was. Even the next day, we had guests asking about our DJ. We would recommend Occasions Entertainment to anyone looking for a great, interactive DJ!

I spent several hours (2 hours the week of the event) speaking with Mike and actually supplied with him of a list of music that I wanted played and the whole fib we were going for. He seemed to get it and I had no worries about the DJ due to a complete list and the time I invested with him.

But I honestly wasn't thrilled with the actual event. I actually got really upset on the dance floor because I couldn't believe the stuff that he played. We were going for a really mellow event (no electric slide, tunga lines, etc) just some old school really chill songs (completely outlined to him). At one point he came out with a ridiculous top hat and air filled guitar during a songs instrumental section. I was embarrassed.

My family is Eric Clapton, Eagles, Sweet Home Alabama, etc. That's the feel I wanted and I don't know how he thought air guitar fit the part. The wedding was a weekend long event at a summer camp, and his song chooses didn't fit the theme.

The client had indeed given us a list of the songs she wanted played. These songs were mixed into our wedding set and all of the clients songs were played. It should be noted that there was not enought songs on the clients play list to last the entire event. We did our best to stay within the clients guidelines and STILL keep guests on the dancefloor. I do not remember the client asking us not to use props...so when we played the classic Rock set and people on the dance floor were playing the air guitar...we went out with a pair of sunglasses (not a top hat) and an inflatable guitar..and we gave them to a person that was dancing...to jam on. At the end of the night Haley and her partner Lynn even thanked us and said everyone had a good time. Was it one of the best planned weddings..no not really...I certainly do not think it deserved a review like this. We did the best we could giving the limitations of the venue and the client.

Excellent Dj Very Professional and Very Personable he made quite an impression on our friends and family as well as my Husband and I. He is a great entertainer I couldn't of asked for a better day everything was pefect.. I would highly recommend him to anyone who has a special day coming up he is a top notch dj by far..

What music genres are in your collection?

Do you have liability insurance?

Yes

Describe your DJ style:

That really depends on the crowd and what the client wants.
We like to be fun and entertaining but again the client has that last say.

Is there a limit to the amount of music that can be requested?

No....but clients are asked to remember that you can only play so many songs in a given period of time.

What is your usual attire?

Both the MC and DJ are dressed in formal tuxedos. However the client can tell us what would be appropriate.

If you do not have one of the songs pre-requested by the client, do you require that they provide it?

We have a very extensive all digital music library from the early 40s thru the top 40. As long as the song is not out of print and is still available...we will get it.

What is the minimum amount of time you will DJ for?

3 hours

Is the client able to meet the DJ before booking?

If the client has the time we always encourage an in person meeting. However if the bride does not have the time to meet we can do a phone meeting to go over all the details.

Can the client submit a do-not-play list?

Yes....not a problem.

Do you bring your own equipment?

Yes and we always have back-up equipment with us at every event.

What (if any) special equipment, such as disco balls or lighting, is offered with your service?

Yes...we have a wide selection of special lighting that includes intelligent lighting, lasers, LED uplighting and custom gobos. Again it is up to the client on what they want.

How much time do you usually need to set up? Do you require that the site or client provide a table for you to set up on?

That depends on the type of package the client has picked. We like to be setup before any guests arrive. And we do require 1 6ft table for our use during the event from the venue.

Do you have any extra space requirements?

The ideal DJ area should be next to the dance floor and depending on the package the client has picked an area of 10ft by 10ft should be fine.

Do you have a sign or banner that you use at events?

Very Tacky....absolutely NOT!

Do you usually emcee the event or talk between songs?

Yes we handle all the announcements and keep track of the events timeline for the client.

How would you motivate the crowd if no one is dancing?

In 18 years we have learned how to tastefully get people up to the dance floor. We do not pull people(extremely impolite) from their seats.

What is your backup plan in case you become unavailable on the day of the event?

Yes

What is your overtime rate?

Overtime is $75 per 1/2 hour.

Do you charge for travel expenses? If yes, how much do you charge?

In state usually no...out of state usually yes.

What is the required deposit to secure your services?

A booking fee is required to secure our services for an event.
