I attended an occidental wedding last July and my fiancee and I were so impressed by the beautiful ceremony and reception site. We have been to over 20 weddings and knew that Oxy was for us. However I recently contacted the wedding coordinator, Stacy Templeton, for rates and she never got back to me. I emailed again, and when I didn't receive a response I decided to give her a call. She was extremely rude and unhelpful and was very impatient with my questions. I knew this was someone I could not work with until the day of my wedding. Unfortunately my fiance and I will not be picking Oxy for our wedding venue and our money will be better used elsewhere.

As an alumni of this school, it was very meaningful to have my wedding here. The campus & venues are gorgeous! Beautiful and unique setting for photos. Ceremony/reception site required little decoration. Spanish style architecture, with a large reception room with a high, wood-beamed ceiling. We had a separate lounge area for our bar, which had couches and chairs. This was included with the reception rental price. It was nice to have different rooms for our guests to wander around. Mary Grogan, Director of Campus Dining/Events, was a dream to work with. She is detail oriented and organized. She accommodated all our requests (e.g. I didn’t want tip jars out, I wanted tables placed a certain way, etc.) Her staff were attentive and efficient on the day of. Everything was set up exactly the way we planned. Oxy is a beautiful and very affordable place to have a wedding. You don’t have to be alumni to have a wedding there. In addition, food was excellent. They have a terrific and diverse menu of plated or buffet entrees, as well as a ton of delicious appetizers. And no, it doesn’t taste like dorm food. The bartenders are knowledgeable and professional. You can bring in your own liquor, which saved us a ton of $$! This venue was great because there were so many extras that were part of the overall price. They didn’t try to sneak in extra costs like many other typical wedding venues.

Excellent venue. Director of Catering is a wonderful person. Venue is beautiful and unique, and priced much, much better than boring, typical country clubs and hotels. Perfect place to get married. Beautiful location to take photos, and have a reception. You can bring your own alcohol in which saves a ton of money. I highly recommend this venue.

The Occidental College Music Quad provided a beautiful place for clear pictures. It was romantic. We did not need amplification. Our family and friends had great things to say about the location. This location is surrounded by pillars, and has a fountain at one end. Other great locations are the Admissions House for an intimate garden feel, and the chapel for those who would enjoy a more traditional ceremony. The college provides a wedding coordinator and white folding chairs for an additional cost. We did not have our reception here since we were looking for authentic mexican food, but our friends wedding reception took place at the college and we thought the meal was much better than at other catered weddings.

I came here about three years ago as a wedding photographer and found so many great spots for bridal, wedding party and family portrait sessions. The campus is beautiful..!! The ceremonial service was held in school's church. The arrangement of seatings in the chapel was unique and it made it possible for the guests to view the ceremony from any angle. 360 views..!!! Most of the time, you would see the back of the bride and groom through out the whole ceremony, but the 360 degree seatings allow you to see the side, profile and front view of the bride and groom. Very unique and cleverly arranged..!! The reception area offers high ceilings and spanish colonial architectural background. I would strongly recommend Occidental College as wedding ceremonial and reception site to everyone..!!!
