Oceano Hotel and Spa

The Oceano hotel is the best place to have a wedding! We got to have the ceremony in the garden, cocktails in an already set up tent, reception in the ballroom, and dancing in the atrium! The wedding coordinators there are the best! Nancy was always easy to get a hold of & more than happy to work with us on anything we wanted. She made our wedding day dreams come true! Being a beach town you have to get used to a bit of a slower pace, but don't let it stress you out if you are more of a fast paced bide like me. Just enjoy the relaxing vibe, everything gets done perfectly in the end.

The Oceano Hotel and Spa is absolutely amazing. It was the perfect location to host our wedding. The hotel dones a casual but elegant vibe and just makes everyone feel so at home with the relaxing decor. A nice hotel alone would not have been enough for me to decide to host my wedding here. The main thing that drove my husband and I to the Oceano Hotel was the people. The staff at the hotel are fabulous. They are professional, customer service oriented, and just all around good people. In particular, Nancy is the most fantastic wedding coordinator any bride can ever ask for. Nancy made sure that it was my day and that there would be no stress involved because she would take care of everything! She takes care of every single detail from making sure there was food in our suite for after the wedding reception to spending 30 minutes trying to help me bustle my dress. Nancy was there every step of the way. We truly loved this place and will definitely be back to visit!

The Oceano was a totally amazing place to get married. Nancy, their event planner, made the entire process easy and painless for us. She was welcoming and reassuring every step of the way. They even let us do a food tasting before we made a deposit! The event was flawless. The food was amazing. Nancy managed everything - down to ensuring that we had food and cake when we got back to our room! - and everyone had a ball. The staff was welcoming and took great care of us and of all of our guests. The rooms are gorgeous, the location is ideal... I wish I could give them 5+ stars!

All I can say is wonderful!!! Jennifer was awesome from day one! We had the most beautiful setting, weather and could have not asked for more. Jenn was very flexible with allowing us to change the menu and accomodating our other vendors. The staff was awesome and my husband and I were so impressed with the quality of service. As a bride you panic about everything but Jenn made it is easy, even when I asked her questions over and over again or changed my mind 10 times. We had our wedding in the garden along with the reception outside under the tents.

My fiance and I can't say enough about how beautiful this hotel is. Nancy is really sweet and really knows how to make you feel like the most beautiful bride. She's really easy to work with. I was really happy with how accommodating she was and is. But I have to say on the day of my wedding I was stressed at times because of little mishaps. There were some miscommunications, but in the end it all worked out and everyone had a lot of fun.

Oceano Hotel is a brand new hotel in Half Moon Bay; I believe it opened in March 2008. The ballroom seats about 250 and is absolutely gorgeous with 3 beautiful chandeliers. The dance floor is in the attached atrium, which features a huge skylight for a ceiling. Apparently, it's like dancing under the stars at night. The ceremony site on their garden is also beautiful with views of the ocean. Nancy, their event coordinator, is wonderful -- very nice, easy to work with, responsive via email. When we met her, she even gave us a tour of the hotel & the guest rooms. I believe they are one of the only certified "green" hotels in the bay area. Most of the rooms have ocean views & balconies.

After our visit, I was in love! It was the 1st venue we visited & I thought this was it! However, to appease the parents, we looked at hotels in SF since that is where all of our families are from. We narrowed it down to 2 -- Oceano & The Stanford Court in SF. Both FI and I were torn for weeks. Ultimately, it came down to a proximity issue and we went with TSC in SF instead. I think I would have been happy either way. (Secretly, I still try and think of ways I could plan some type of event there!)

I can't say enough great things about my experience at Oceano. From the time I met Nancy and walked through the hotel (in late 2008), I knew I would have my wedding there. We looked at many different venues, but I couldn't stop thinking about how comfortable I was at Oceano (and with Nancy). By the end of my experience, Nancy felt like extended family to us. She was there all the way through to answer all of my silly questions and to ensure that everything was executed perfectly. Her staff is amazing and extremely competent as well. Many guests and bridal party members commented on how fabulous everyone was at the hotel and all had a great experience. Our wedding (and the entire weekend at Oceano) was an amazing experience and we are so happy with our decision. I would highly recommend Oceano as a ceremony and reception venue for your wedding.

Brides...this is 100% the best venue to have your ceremony and reception. I personally did not have my ceremony here as I had a tradition Catholic wedding, but with all the grief I endured from the church, I kind of wished I had my ceremony here as well. Oceano is the best place. It is right across the street from Pillar Point Harbor or is in the harbor at Half Moon Bay. So your also getting the beautiful scenery from Half Moon Bay; a nice elegant and peaceful town. Plus Oceano Hotel & Spa is a new facility that just opened in 2008. From the decor, to the food(food is excellent), to the exceptional customer service is what every bride dreams of. Another interesting thing about the hotel is that if you go outside the lobby they have a little indoor type of mall with shops and restaurants, plus their opening a new spa.A great place for your friends and family to enjoy as well.The Wedding coordinator Nancy is the nicest and wamest person you will ever meet. She completely understands you and just truly wants to make your day as special as possible. She is truly amazing. I cannot emphasize that enough. They are flexible and are willing to work with you to make sure your day is everything you wanted. I guarantee if you book an appointment with Nancy and tour the facility you will not be disappointed. Oceano is a fun, new and exciting place to have your event. I would reccommend this place to anyone!

Our wedding was a dream come true. We had the ceremony outside in the wedding garden and then reception was inside the ballroom of the hotel. Every person at the Oceano who played a part in our wedding and helped out was truly amazing. I have never been to a wedding or a hotel where they were so accommodating. The weekend was perfect from the rehearsal til the day after the wedding and the last guest left. It was perfect for us. I couldn't think of a better place to be married than the Oceano.

Nancy is the sweetest thing ever! She worked wit us the entire time and greatly reduced my stress about planning a wedding. The venue itself is beautiful! All new and ocean themed...perfect for a coastside event. We had the choice of being outside or inside for the ceremony. Even though I preferred the outside and it rained on my wedding day...Nancy and her staff set everything up inside, worked with my vendors, and the ceremony was perfect! During my wedding I felt relaxed and had a great time...because I felt so comfortable with Nancy and the staff. Check out the Oceano for your coastside events!

Nancy was super nice and patient with us. We searched for the longest time for a ceremony venue that was nice and scenic, but wouldn't break the bank. Since we were doing a split location wedding, it was extremely difficult to find locations that we could book for just the ceremony. Fortunately, Oceano accomodated us. They offered an indoor venue or outdoor venue. Both are very nice (also the hotel is very new so everything is very nice). As our wedding was in the end of November, we didn't have high hopes about it being an outdoor ceremony, but it was nice that Oceano offered this choice. On the actual day of the wedding, they were super flexible and waited until just a couple hours before the ceremony for the decision of outside or inside based on the weather.

To all brides looking for a beautiful wedding location-set in beautiful Half Moon Bay, this Hotel has it all.
A beautiful ceremony site, amazing ballroom and guest rooms that are beautifully appointed. Nancy knows what a bride is looking for in a perfect venue. Oh and the Spa! Everything is right in one location!
