Oh, What a Night
Oh, What a Night came to Texas! I needed a caterer to help host a party for 30 NASA & Industry Executives, including Astronauts, all in town for a meeting. Knowing Claudia for years, I knew she was the best person for the job. The food was exceptional. The presentation was beautiful and everyone couldn’t have been happier. It truly was the best social gathering we have thrown. My husband received nothing but positive feedback during the meetings the next day. She staged our house so there was a nice flow and gave everyone the opportunity to mingle. I would highly recommend Claudia and Oh, What a Night, for any event.
We go to Captiva every year for Christmas with a large family group. We have used Claudia and Oh What a Night every year, and keep coming back to her time and again. The food is great and loved by all ages, she and her staff are always on time and very friendly, and they do a fantastic job of cleaning up afterward. If any of my nieces, nephews, or my daiughter or son were ever to want to marry on Captiva we would use her services without a doubt.
Brides - I completely and highly recommend Claudia and Oh What A Night Catering!! You will not be disappointed. We were just married on Captiva Island on May 21, 2011 and we were 100% thrilled with everything Claudia did to make our day EXCEPTIONAL!
I planned this wedding completely 'sight unseen' from Washington DC. Claudia went above and beyond to create a unique and special menu, design the reception lay out, order the chairs and tent frame, create a lighting concept, order our cake, made the gorgeous flowers (herself!!), and completely ran the show on the wedding day! It was amazing! We were on a relatively tight budget and Claudia worked with me to create the most wonderful wedding I could have imagined. She is so easy to work with - and she does not 'up charge' you for anything. Meaning - the cost of the chairs or tables or table clothes or the cake is the same cost of you ordered it directly from that vendor. She does not make a profit on those extra details that she does for you.
The food was amazing. Her staff was incredibly professional, polite and also not 'in the way'. She runs the show but no one really knows it... she will not bark orders at anyone - she is totally delightful to work with!
I am so pleased with the work she did for me/ us that I have offered to speak with brides if you are seriously considering booking her. I'm still flying high from my wedding last Thursday on Captiva Island. Claudia and her Oh, What A Night staff pulled off a wedding that I only dreamed of having. We rented a beach house (Tenderly) and hosted the beach ceremony and reception there. Claudia was familiar with the home, having catered events there in the past. It's a little scary hiring a caterer/event planner when you live so far away, but I am so glad that I chose Oh, What A Night. Claudia took my input and ran with it, exceeding my expections far beyond what I imagined. Our table was absolutely stunning, the service was perfect, and the food was delicious (my guests raved.) I heard more than once over the past few days that it was the most beautiful wedding that many of my guests had ever attended. Not only did I have a perfect wedding, I also made a new friend, Claudia. Do yourself a favor--hire her.
I would highly recommend Claudia and her staff! She was amazing to work with in planning and catering our destination wedding to Captiva Island, FL! She is very responsive to emails and calls, easy to work with, great ideas, and most important is a lot of fun. She truly cares about her clients and wants the best for them. She is hands down the best!!
Very bad service save yourself the headache, cost, heartache by not using Oh' What A Night for catering or wedding planning. There staff is very unprofessional. The wedding on Captiva on March 25th, 2010 was beautiful inspite of the rudeness, foul language, and unprofessionalism from Claudia to all the guest. Her services should have been free but at that I wouldn't even take free services on how we were all treated.
Claudia and her team were outstanding! They made our dream beach wedding come true. We planned the wedding with Claudia via email, as we live in MO. She was pleasant, professional, and timely. We met in person upon arrival in Sanibel for the last minute details. She was able to secure folding chairs and a beautiful archway, and set it up for us on the beach! Since we rented a home on the island for a week for the wedding, we decide to have the wedding dinner catered to the house instead of going to one of the many fine restaurants on the island. We couldn't have been happier with the quality/taste of the wonderful food, the esthetics of the arrangement of the food, and Claudia even decorated the house with special touches like candles, mirrors, shells, etc. to enhance the festivities. It made the dinner so personal and intimate. Claudia and her team set everything up while we were on the beach getting married, so when we all arrived back at the house, everything was ready to go! Afterwards, Claudia and staff cleaned everything up spotlessly and stored the extra food in the frig. I would highly recommend Oh What a Night! and Claudia to anyone seeking the perfect beach wedding with the ultimate in food, service, and professionalism! Thank you Claudia!! Our wedding was better than I could have ever imagined and it is all because of your hard work. You made planning a destination wedding a breeze, I never worried whether or not things were getting done, you were just a phone call or email away. Our family and friends are still talking about our big day. We have yet to go to a wedding where the food even comes close to what you and your staff prepared. The flowers, ceremony, and reception decor were beautiful and exceeded my expectations. The little errands you ran for us on the day of our wedding like picking up bottled water for the ceremony probably went unnoticed by our guests, but will never be forgotten by us!!!

Claudia made all of our wedding planning as easy as can be. We live in Chicago and having her as my planner relieved a lot of my stress. She let me pick the meal, gave me all kinds of advice and made our day perfect. She was very considerate with what we wanted since our mothers were involved in the planning also. She understands that this is your day and will do whatever you want and ask her to do. She truly only wants what you want and wants to make your day perfect and memorable. If we could do/change anything from our wedding day, we wouldn’t, everything was perfect and the wedding is still the topic of conversation at all of our family functions.
I planned a destination wedding on Captiva Island and was a little nervous about choosing vendors from far away. After speaking with Claudia I knew that I was in good hands! A few months before the wedding I had a site visit and Claudia met with me to go over all the details. She also brought a few cake samples to sweeten the deal!
She and her staff are accomodating, professional and flexible. I emphasize flexible- the day of our wedding a strong storm blew threw and they waited to setup the majority of the tables until it finished.
Our wedding was absolutely perfect and I attribute a lot of it's success to Claudia and Oh What a Night Catering!

We don’t offer a facility to host events - we come to you. Our clients typically rent a beach home or cottage/condo complex location for their stay, and we execute everything in the home or on the grounds. The islands of Sanibel and Captiva are abundant with rental choices of every size and price range. See the "Our Location" page on our website for links. We are happy to offer suggestions for a venue that would be appropriate for your vision and budget, and work with various venues beyond a home or cottage rental as well.

What services do you offer?
We are caterers at heart - focusing our attention on amazing foods and beautiful presentation. But along with planning a meal, we know that there are many other factors involved in executing a spectacular event. We do as much or as little as you request... we are happy to offer suggestions and opinions regarding local vendors, and will contract them on your behalf if you wish. We will offer as much hands-on support as you’d like, assisting with floral designs and decorations, coordination of vendors and event execution, and any other factors of importance to you.
What are you prices?
Our menus start at $29 for a basic BBQ and go up from there in accordance with menu complexity. Prices are basically taylored to each individual event, because there are so many variables. We do our best to include all of the details in with the menu price so that there are no surprises. Other companies charge fees for china, centerpieces, linen, consulting, etc seperate from the quoted menu price - this all adds up, so be sure to check into this as you shop around. We are oftentimes a more economical choice because of our inclusions.
What about destination weddings?
We understand how difficult it is to plan a special event from out of town, and are prepared to assist you in every way possible. Feel confident knowing that we not only work here, but live here, and are happy to assist you with details and offer opinions in the course of your planning. And of course if the bride prefers to plan the event herself, we offer Day-Of Coordination as well.
