Sally was so wonderful to work with! I bought a Priscilla of Boston sample gown that needed a good cleaning, so I was referred to Orange Restoration Labs. Not only did Sally get my dress looking brand new, she also fixed one of the buttons on the back and added one of the missing straps so the gown could be hung properly. I am so happy with the final product!

I contacted Sally about restoring my FH's grandmother's veil worn in the 1930's. The veil was gorgeous, but definitely had yellowed over the years. Additionally, there were a few stains on it, and significant damage to the headpiece. After visiting multiple vendors (who told me nothing could be done), I was referred to Sally at Orange Restoration. In no time at all, she was able to completely restore the veil to its original glory (including the original headpiece), much to our very happy surprise. Her expertise is unsurpassed; we are extremely appreciative of her services. I plan to utilize Orange Restoration's preservation services after the wedding, as well- I have no desire to work with any other restoration vendor having experienced this level of service.

After a long day of walking, pictures and dancing my wedding gown was far from looking pristine. Since it is an expensive duchess satin ball gown with intricate beading and a long train, I knew I had to choose an experienced professional for its cleaning and preservation. I was happy that I chose Orange Restoration Labs. Sally was great, she inspected the gown with me before the cleaning and walked me through the entire process. When I picked up the dress it looked like I had just picked it up from the bridal salon. It was so beautiful I wanted to wear it again! Brides, if you are looking for a professional to clean, preserve or restore you most treasured attire, Orange Restoration Labs is the way to go. Thank you Sally!

I recently dealt with Orange Restoration Labs to clean my wedding dress. Through an online search, I found the company and was pleased to see I could deal with a company locally in Connecticut. I was skeptical of sending my dress away to a company that I had no way of knowing was legitimate or not.
I contacted Orange Restoration Labs via email, inquiring on their services, and Sally contacted me back right away. It was clear through emails that Sally was very flexible and encouraged me to bring the dress to her so she could see it and discuss my questions in further detail. I made an appointment to drive down and see her. Her schedule was very flexible, she was able to meet me on the weekend without a problem.
As soon as I met Sally, I was put at ease. She explained the process she used to clean the dresses and explained how the company worked. It was very clear she had a passion for this business and was very knowledgeable as to what should and shouldn't be done to care for special occasion dresses. She explained that wedding dresses are really special garments and basic dry cleaners do not have the experience it takes to care for them properly. I realized this quickly as I shopped dry cleaners prior to finding Orange Restoration Labs. I had a large silk satin ball gown with intricate beading. I spend a considerable amount of money on the dress, and expected care to be taken when it was cleaned. A couple dry cleaners told me they could clean the dress by turning it inside out and putting it in the machine, or that I should have a seamstress remove the beads so they could treat it, and then the beads could be sewn back on. Sally told me that both of these suggestions were nothing she would consider doing at all. She further explained that my dress is hand treated and each spot is treated individually to ensure the stains were removed. The beading needed to be altered, and they would take precautions to protect that. I was also concerned my dress had been sitting for over a year until I decided to clean it, and Sally told me she didn't have any concerns about getting the stains out. Most of the stains were typical bottom of the dress stains.
I happily left my dress at Orange Restoration Labs and was contacted a few months later when it was ready to pick up. Sally would have had the dress ready sooner if I needed it, but I told her this was not a job that had to be rushed. I drove down to pick up my dress and had the pleasure of looking it over prior to it being boxed up and preserved. The dress looked gorgeous, in like new condition. I couldn't believe how well the stains had been removed. Sally took care to steam the dress prior to boxing it, and also packaged it with extreme care and plenty of protective tissue. She was very comfortable handling the dress, and I felt at ease because I knew she was caring for it as if it was her own.
I left with my box, it was even raining out that day, and Sally gave me a bag to cover the box to save it from getting wet, and had her husband Rogers carry the box out to the car for me.
I highly recommend the services Orange Restoration Labs provided. I have nothing but positive things to say about them. The quality of service is exceptional. The price paid for the service was also fair. After pricing other companies in the industry, their quote was definitely going rate, which I was more than happy to pay, considering the high level of service I received. I certainly would not have received the level of service or felt as comfortable shipping my dress out to a larger company that I would have to deal with site unseen.

Sally is amazing at dress preservation and it's clearly her passion-- she's been in the business for many years and she's a complete professional. From the moment you meet her, you feel completely at ease. I enjoyed working with her because she includes you in the gown preservation process and you have 100% input. She also takes the time to educate you about the process and answer any questions you may have. I would strongly recommend Orange Restoration Labs for gown cleaning, restoration, and preservation.

I sent my vintage gown (from the 30's) to be restored and it came back looking beautiful! The gown I sent in had sweat stains, water stains, and was quite yellowed. The gown I got back was a lovely creamy color, the water stains were gone, and the sweat stains not noticeable. The communication by email was prompt, and very informative. Sally was very honest about what she could and couldn't do to restore my gown. I was very pleased with the time frame in which it was done, and the results were totally worth the price.

My Gown was sent to Orange Restoration through the bridal shop where it was purchased. They did a fantastic job of cleaning and arranged the dress in the box so that I can still view the beautiful bodice and my veil through the window. While I'm sad that I can't just pop the gown out to ooh and ahh over it once in a while, I feel good knowing that it has been preserved for a future bride.

Sally was awesome start to finish. She took the time to discuss what could be done with the wedding dress we presented to her. She had the dress restored to an unbelievable state. We were thrilled with the final product. Sally did an awesome job and we would trust her with any dress. Highly recommend!

I am getting married this coming spring, and I am very lucky to be able to wear my mother's 36 year old Priscilla wedding gown. Before it was re-cut, we needed to get it cleaned, and my mother found Orange Restoration Labs. The gown was in pretty good condition to start with, but had a few small stains, dirt on the hem, and mold damage in various areas of the lace. We also needed to get the veil cleaned, which is a piece of vintage lace. Sally, the woman who we dealt with, did an AMAZING job! My mom couldn't believe how beautiful the dress looked when we got it back, she said it looked just like new! Sally was an absolute pleasure to work with, and she returned the dress to us very quickly. The veil also turned out beautifully. We couldn't be happier with the way both the gown and veil turned out! We would recommend Orange Restoration Labs to anyone. If you need a gown restored, we highly recommend you consider this company.

Orange Restoration Labs saved my wedding dreams! I've always wanted to wear my grandmothers and mother's dress, but when I took it out of the packaging it was stained all over the front, as well as no longer truly white. Sally cleaned the dress and it practically looks new! No stains, a nice vibrant white, and she was able to do it without damaging any of the delicate, vintage lace.

I used Orange Restoration Labs to press my dress a couple of days before the
wedding and it turned out beautifully. Sally did an excellent job and even
provided me with a larger dress bag so that my dress had more room in transport.

I bought a sample wedding dress and had to have it cleaned before I wore it. This company bragged about how they were so overqualified and the best in the business, but they shrunk the lining on my dress and, in what I assume was an attempt to hide the damage, pulled so hard on the fabric that they ripped my hem. It wasn't obvious at first (I should have looked closer when I came to pick it up), but my seamstress showed me the damage immediately and said I deserved all my money back. When my seamstress vouched for me to Orange restoration and said they should make amends, Sally (Orange's president) apparently said to her something to the effect of, "We do 3,000 gowns a year. If we ruin 100, we're doing well." She did give me my money back for the cleaning, but her general attitude and the fact that she hid the damage she did from me at first puts her squarely on my bad vendor list. My seamstress had to rip apart all the seams and resew the dress - an extra $300 worth of work. Orange should have paid for that too.
Vendor response to review
Your comments are extremely unfair. In the first place, I advised you to have your gown cleaned before alterations because there is always the risk of shrinkage—even when a gown is dry cleaned. No one tried to hide anything from you. I did not tug on the fabric and tear your hem. There was already a tear in the hem, and until your seamstress showed me your gown when I delivered another gown to her shop, I was completely unaware of any problem with our service. She and I agreed the lining had shrunk badly, and she further said that the fabric of the lining was very poor quality. Legally if the instructions on the care label are followed correctly, it is the manufacturer’s fault if the gown is damaged during the cleaning process, and I could have refused to reimburse you. On the contrary, I asked the seamstress to have you call me so I could get your address and send you a check. On the phone, you acknowledged that I had warned you not to have the gown altered before it was cleaned, and in fact your seamstress told me you asked her to leave the gown loose when she altered it because there might be shrinkage. Also, I specifically asked the seamstress if the $225 I refunded to you would cover the additional alterations, and she said that it would. As for bragging, I do not recall ever telling anyone I was the best in the business—particularly not when there are 38,000 other cleaners in the country. I do joke about being overqualified because I clean clothes for a living even though I have a Ph.D. Your gown was not ruined, and I doubt I told the seamstress I ruin gowns. There was a problem with your gown, and you were paid the money the seamstress said would solve the problem. Problems do occur, and I am sorry for your inconvenience, but I did stand behind my work and do not deserve to be called a bad vendor.
We have been working with Sally and Rogers at Orange Restoration Labs since 2003 and fully endorse their Gown Restoration service.

FAQ for Orange Restoration Labs - gown care
What is preservation?Your completely clean gown is carefully packed with acid-free tissue in a museum-quality wedding chest that protects your gown from the air and light that cause unprotected gowns to yellow.
Why is your process different from others? Spills such as soda, wine and cake (many times caused by a guest and unnoticed by the bride) contain sugar and often dry without leaving a visible mark. Sugar is not dissolved during ordinary drycleaning and caramelizes over time into ugly brown stains. We take an extra step to be sure all stains, both seen and unseen, are removed.
Is your wedding chest different from others? Our trademarked MuseumCareTM wedding chest is completely acid-free, not just pH neutral. Boxes that are only pH-neutral are not as safe for your gown, and ordinary boxes and tissue are heavy in acid, which damages fabric. Ordinary boxes and tissue cause yellowing and “burn” gowns leaving dark brown streaks wherever the fabric touches the box.
Can I see my gown when it is in the wedding chest? You can see your gown through an oval window made of polypropylene, an inert plastic that will not yellow or damage your gown. Some of our members do not use this lid. Instead they wrap the gown in muslin, and you can fold back the muslin to view your gown.
What else can I preserve with my gown? Such things as a headpiece and veil, petticoat, gloves, garter, and handkerchief may be stored with your gown. There may be an additional charge. You may also choose to store your things in more than one chest. Shoes should not be stored with the gown because fumes from the leather and glue may cause damage.
We can also preserve other special garments such as christening gowns, communion dresses, quinceaneros gowns, military uniforms, etc.
Will you make repairs to my gown? We can make any needed repairs. For some repairs there may be an additional charge.
What is the guarantee? 100% international guarantee against caramelized sugar stains or yellowing of your gown backed by Certified Wedding Gown SpecialistsTM in more than 500 cities around the world. Return gown to any participating Specialist who will inspect the gown and press it at no charge.
What if I open my gown? The guarantee is not voided, but improper handling of the gown may cause damage, and it should be resealed. If your gown is handled excessively or soiled it should be cleaned and preserved again.
