FAQ for Orchids In Bloom - Floral Preservation & Keepsakes
A. Floral preservation is a process that extracts moisture from the flowers (creating dried flowers), maintains a dehydrated state and seals the flowers to protect their natural shape. Floral preservation is an art form that requires precision and a professional's touch and experience. At Orchids-In-Bloom, your flowers are carefully handled and cared for through meticulous steps before giving back to you as a completed floral keepsake.
Q. What will happen to the flowers during the preservation process?
A. Some flowers may reduce in size, and colour of flowers will slightly or sometime dramatic deepen during the preservation process. The results are always beautiful but somewhat different from the fresh state.
These are REAL flowers and NATURE plays a big part in this process. For example:
* Coral changed to pink or red.
* Fuchsia or hot pink deepen to more purple tone.
* Pink deepen or turn mauve.
* Peach to pinker tones.
* Red to burgundy.
* White will vary from cream to light yellow.
Our excellent result still depends on the quality of your flowers that we received. Fresh flowers produce the best preservation results.
Q. How do you enhance the look of flowers?
A. We prefer to preserve your flowers at their freshest condition to ensure the best appearance of your keepsake. Our designer will disassemble your bouquet, pretreat, and preserve each flower individually which allow us to reform the petal and shape. The technique is time consuming but it gives us the ability to enhance the look of each flower and ensure superior results.
** Floral preservation cannot magically restore the wilted, blemished, shrivelved or dead flowers. If your flowers are in one of these conditions, they will need the replacement or be discarded.
** It is important for your flowers to be preserved right after the event before they lose any more of their freshness.
** We ask that you do not throw the original bouquet to bridesmaids during the traditional tossing of the bouquet, but plan ahead to use a throwaway bouquet, so the original bouquet is not damaged.
We’d like to invite you to closely inspect our preserved flowers (photos on website and/or in person in our studio) to judge for yourself. Our excellent result still depends on the quality of your flowers that we received. Fresh flowers produce the best preservation results.

that you wish to place inside. We can preserve a few flowers of the bouquet or a whole bouquet and create a beautiful floral keepsake for you. ***Our prices start from $65 to $495.

A. Preserved flowers which are in enclosed keepsakes will last for years to come. Your flowers and foliage are post treated to help protect from fading and re-absorbing moisture. However, their lasting appearance will also depend on a number of factor including: the age and condition of flowers at the time of preservation, the amount of light, heat, humidity exposure, and how the floral keepsake is maintained in the home environment.
Please note Unprotected Preserved Flowers (preserved flowers without a frame or encasement) may only last up to a year.
Q. Do you offer any guarantees?
A. We offer a 90 day guarantee on workmanship from the time of completed floral keepsake is pickup. Our guarantee only applies to Preserved Flowers with frames or encasements. If your floral keepsake is kept enclosed, you should be able to enjoy them for many years to come.
