This is the only Catholic church that I could find in the Western suburbs that would accept non-parishoners. Father Mike was great with helping us plan the wedding, and even offered to say the mass when our other priest backed out two weeks before the wedding. He was also understanding that we are young Catholics, who don't necessarily follow all the rules of the church to the letter. Additionally, we used one of the recommended musicians, who had a beautiful voice and played the piano very well - and also accepting the job just 2 weeks before the wedding! The church itself is very beautiful, open, and bright.
The church was beautiful and decorated so perfectly. Father Harrington’s homily was very touching and all of our guests commented on how heartfelt and personal the ceremony was when it was all put together. This was great since the priest I grew up was transferred 6 months after we booked the church. My mom’s friend did an incredible rendition of Steve Curtis Chapman’s “I Will Be Here”. Her voice was angelic. The rehearsal went very well and I was impressed at how it all came together! I also really liked how our priest included everyone with a blessing at communion (since many of our guests including Austen?s family were not Catholic). My BIL even asked me what to do during that party and my photographer got a great shot.
