Reviews for Paper Depot
I made my invitation! I didn’t do this to save money, rather because lots of friends have held invitation making parties in the past, and all the bridesmaids and mothers get together and print and glue and sprinkle sparkles! It’s a great way to plan for the party, too, and to get ideas on themes and stuff. We went to the Paper Depot in Minneapolis, which is a wonderful place. I felt good about supporting a local business. They have an amazing selection, much, much better than what you would find in a Michael’s craft store. I was able to make the save the date cards, invitations, and seating cards. They also have some DIY party favors to choose from, but I opted out of that option. Even with six people helping, it took two days to get everything done.
Brock and I spent a few weeks working on the guest list, confirming it with our parents, and then revising some more. We then went to have the invitations done, but we were kind of shocked at the price. We decided that we could do the invitations for half that price, if we took a whole weekend. We went to the Paper Depot, which has a great selection. We found blank invitations on really nice paper, with green envelopes, and then these stamps that we would use to mark the envelopes. It’s nice that you can mix and match in there. We bought more than we needed, about twenty, just in case we made a mistake or remembered a forgotten guest. We made eight mistakes, so it was good that we did get the extra. Brock worked at the computer, printing up the information, and then I cut the paper in half. We both glued and wrote names. We made the whole process easier by renting the Godfather series and then some other movies. It took three days, but they all made it to the post office and almost everyone we invited came, so it was worth it.
I didn’t want to spend a lot on invitations, so we decided right away that I would be making them. Because we already had the website up with most of the information, all we needed was a simple reminder of when and where. I went to the paper depot, and looked for what was the cheapest for the amount of money that I wanted to spend. I think I was very lucky and found two really beautiful set that were on sale, in different colors but in more or less then same style. I didn’t mind that I didn’t get a complete uniform set, and the person who was working there told me it wasn’t a big deal at all. She said that brides often mix and match the invitation cards. There were lots of pretty things in there, and in the end I also bought a stamp pad and a stamp of a tree for the back of the envelope.
