Reviews for Park Avenue Bridals

Just picked up my gown this week for my 1/14/12 wedding and I can't thank Park Ave enough!! The staff is INCREDIBLE, all so kind, nice and "smiley". I bought my gown almost a year ago from Teresa and LOVE it even more now than I did the day I got it! She was so sweet and helpful. We also bought my mom's dress and my 5 bridesmaids at Park Ave. Jean helped us and she too was THE BEST!! She made all my girls feel comfortable even when they picked their sizes (which could have been a very stressful experience). She was fun and really gave good advise. I would recommend Park Ave to everyone!!

I need to clarify that the sales team and the front desk at Park Ave did a fantastic job and were great to deal with throughout the process. The reason for them not receiving 5 stars all around was mainly around the fitting/seamstress process. I had to go back four times to get my dress fitted correctly, which is fine, if it wasn't for the main seamstress trying to convince me that a) there was nothing wrong with the bustle (when it was clearly longer on one side compared to the other) b) tried to tell me that the dress was steamed and ready to go when it clearly wasn't with all the creases in it and c) was very rude when my mom and I would tell her that the bustle still was not right (after the 4th time there!). Park Ave has a great selection of dresses but the seamstresses left a bad taste in my mouth about the this place (except for Theresa the bustle "specialist" who was very patient, albeit slow and seemed to be unsure of how to fix the problem). Just be careful as you need to be on top of them for all fittings. Everything worked out in the end though and I loved my dress.

We got my bridal gown, veils, and bridesmaids dresses and had such a great expereince the whole step of the way!!!! Angela was my bridal consultant and was always super sweet!!! Gary Is amazing!!!! Originally my bridesmaids where suppose to be in a dusty rose color but the color palette they had said the dress didn't come in the color i had wanted...So i changed it to a lighter purple color...When i got home I saw online that they did carry that color in the dress we ordered..I quickly called Gary and told him..he double checked and realized the they didnt get updated color charts..no problem they fixed everything and when my dresses came in they were the color i orginally wanted and looked gorgeous!!!! I would recommend them in a heartbeat!!!!

My daughter lives outside of Washington DC and was married at Highlawn Pavilion on 9/4/11. She found the perfect dress together with her Aunt Sandy, myself and Patty. The staff at Park Ave Bridal and the seamstresses were absolutely attentive and professional. I also bought my dress there (MOTB) and was just thrilled with it. Thank you for making my daughter's day just perfect!

I found my dress at another bridal shop, but called around for the best price. Park Ave Bridal just had a trunk show with my designer and were willing to give me the trunk show price even though the show was officially over. They came in $800 under other salons, so I rolled the dice and went with them. I also got my veil there too. Although it was more than I wanted to spend, it was ABSOLUTELY gorgeous. It really complimented my dress to a tee. If you go to Park Ave Bridals, you must must must have Patty as your consultant. If it weren't for Patty, I don't know what I would have done. She makes you feel very comfortable, tells you how it is, and finds the perfect to solution to any problem. The alterations lady was also great, and she made me feel at ease that my dress would fit perfectly & it did! I also got my bridesmaid dresses there too, and got a great price on all of my girls' dresses. They also have late hours on Monday/Friday's which helped as I live 30 minutes away and work in Manhattan. I would recommend Park Ave Bridals to a future bride. If you don't want a stuffy feel and want down to earth people helping you, than Park Ave is your place.

Overall the prices were great and I ended up with a great dress. I just wasn't pleased with how the top of the dress fit, it was a sweetheart neckline and I felt like I was talked into it. I really wanted a strapless that was straight not sweetheart so that I didn't have to worry about people seeing down the front of my dress or worry about bending forward in it. The saleswoman told me it would be fine when it was in my own size and that it would lay flat against my chest... when the dress came in, the seamstress explained to me that that would be impossible unless she stapled it to my chest. Bottom line, the dress was beautiful but I was not comfortable all night worrying about my boobs showing. Oh and also, they never called me to tell me that my dress or the bridesmaids dresses were in. Good thing I finally called them.

I got my dress at Park Avenue Bridal and it was the only thing I regret about my wedding. I have given all of my other vendors 5 stars except them. I felt pressured by the consultant there and she was telling me that my family wasn't crazy about the dress I liked but they all like this other dress. I got so upset and confused that I ultimately bought it and I'm upset about that. The alterations process did not go well either. It was not taken in twice when I asked for it to be and before I even left my house that morning the elastic in the top was starting to stick up through the top and I only had it on for an hour! They also never even called to confirm a fitting or appointment and all of my bridesmaids got calls from the place they purchased their dresses. I know many people have loved this vendor but my experience was not pleasant at all.
GUEST

Don't judge the outside before you enter - the outside of the place doesn't look the greatest...but the service and quality of dresses are great. Everyone is very nice and welcoming - last minute cancelations they work around. All in all, I LOVED my dress!
GUEST

Couldn't have asked for a better experience. My dress was perfect, alterations were perfect! Ask for Gene or Joan both were wonderful.

My sister, sister-in-law and two friends also purchased their dresses from Park Avenue Bridals and while there were a couple of things that were out of their control, for the most part, they were a really great vendor. They have really, really nice and helpful consultants who immediately got what my sister and I were looking for in our dresses. The cost for the gowns was really affordable and I got a lot of compliments on the dress. They also offer a 10% discount on your bridesmaid dresses if you get your wedding dress there as well, which was great for my girls. The only complaints I have were nothing major. I got married in January and they were closed for two weeks during the holidays so it made it a little tight for my girls to get fitted and alterations done. It didn't interfere at all but it was just something we had to be aware of. The other thing was one of the seamstress was a little pushy about having two of my girls turn their necklines into sweethearts without consulting me. In the end it wasn't a big deal and it looked fine but I wish they had either offered the change to all of my bridesmaids or to none. Other than that, they were a really great salon and I would definitely recommend them to other brides!

Park Ave Bridals was WONDEFUL!!!! Of all my vendors this one was the BEST!!! I first went to Park Ave a year ago from a recommendation by my mother in law. Both my sister in laws got their gowns at Park Ave and my mother in law was a huge fan!!!
I met with Patty who within minutes, just seemed to "get me". I had so much fun with her laughing and quoting funny movie lines. She was so attentive to my needs as well as my own "issues" with my not so perfect body. Every dress she picked out for me was beautiful, but "THE ONE" came at the end. The very last dress I tried on... and we both started to cry!! I LOVED MY GOWN!!!! It was within my budget and actually made me look and feel SKINNY!!!! That was soooooooo important to me.
I also bought my bridesmaids gowns from Park Ave. Gary and Jean helped me with tracking down a Jim Helm dress that my girls wanted and gave me a GREAT PRICE!! Jean measured all my girls and even helped figure out what size to get Maria, my 8 mont pregnant bridesmaid. Park Ave was always professional and kind to me and my girls- I had the best experience there and would recommend them to all my friends!!

I enjoyed getting my dress at Park Avenue Bridals, they did a great job and I will recommend them to anyone I know who needs something for Prom, Wedding or any other formal event!

Park Avenue Bridals was the second bridal store that I went to in order to find my perfect wedding dress. I went there with my mom, my sister and my best friend. We were all excited about it. We arrived on time at the store. However, despite of being on time, we had to wait 30 minutes for someone to help us. Our main sales person was NOT helpful at all. Instead of helping me pulling dresses out, she showed me were the dresses were and I was on my own. Very unprofessional! She is the person who knows the inventory not me. I want to point out that I came prepared with the list of dresses that I wanted to try on. She wasn’t able to show me any of the dresses from my list stating that the dresses of that particular designer that I wanted to try on went by names not numbers. (I got the dresses’ numbers from the designer’s website). That was very disappointing because she didn’t even try to solve this somehow. Anyway, after trying on few dresses I was ready to go home. I felt that the sales person was pushy at times and questioning my style.
The whole experience was awful. There are no sitting areas for family members. (Only at the front of the store). Very small fitting rooms. I believe that this store needs a major makeover in order to properly represent what they sell.

I purchased my dress with Park Avenue after a good review on the knot. The shop itself is decieving, but they had a great selection and prices in dresses. After 8 months, my dress finally came in and was exactly how I ordered it. The problems I had was that they charged me $400 to add straps to my dress (which is ridiculous for a the amount of fabric used) and I had to return a few times because the alterations weren't right. The seamstress was also a bit rude, but that shouldn't reflect the shop itself.
GUEST

They were really nice and accomadating. Found my dress, was resonably priced. Didnt like the price of the veil, but because I procrastinated I had to get something and I didnt ask the cost until I signed my credit card statement...

Park Avenue has a nice selection of dresses. For my fittings I had to get the top re-done 3 times before they got it right and they told me it was pressed and ready to go but it waswrinkled so they hadto press it again before I left. The people helping you in the back were very helpful but the people at the counter always seemed annoyed. All my bridesmaids had problems with their fittings, some were too big some were too tight, my one bridesmaid went for her final fitting and they broke the hook on top while trying to zip her in, they fixed it real quick in the back but when she tried it on again the hook came off so she had to go back again and have them attach the hook. Nice selection, but not so impressed with the service.
GUEST

Found my dress on the very first visit and fell in love. Park Ave had a great variety of different priced gowns to choose from which was so helpful. The seamstress was amazing and my gown fit like a glove.
GUEST

I went to over 10 different places and tried on over 30 dresses and found my perfect dress. It was beautiful and everyone loved it. It was very simple and elegant. Park Ave Bridals were very helpful and did a great job. the only thing was the bustles for the pick ups on the dress came off very easily and i had to drag my dress around the venue.
GUEST

They were great to work with. As a bride, you get tons of attention here. They went our of their way to get the sample of my bridesmaids dress when they didn't have it at the store so that I could have the girls order it there! They were extremely patient with how perfect we wanted everything and they had a great selection of dresses, veils, tiaras, mom's dresses and bm dresses.
GUEST

Park Ave is the best. They really know what they are doing. Patty helped me find the perfect dress for my day. After having 'bonding' time in the dressing room where I didn't think I would know when I found 'the dress', Patty told me not to worry and that I would know. I finally asked her to find me the dress that Emily wore on 'Friends' when she married Ross. Goofy, I know. But, she went out and found me two. The first one was no good. But when I tried on the next one, I whispered that I think this is it! So thank you to the crew at Park Ave for finding me a wonderful dress. They were nice, courteous, and a lot of fun!
GUEST

I purchased my wedding dresss here as well as my bridesmaids' dresses.... Gary was extremely helpful and responsive to meet all my needs.... Overall I was happy with my experience there and thank ful for all of Gary's help...

I went to some "higher end" bridal salons before I stumbled upon Park Avenue Bridal. On the face of it, they don't appear high end but they were one of the few stores carry the Alvina Valenta dress that I was interested in trying on. I'm glad I purchased the dress here - they were not pushy and I felt it was a better fit for me - more low-key, real people servicing the clients. However, I'm sorry that I was not more assertive in my last fitting - we were still having an issue with the fabric lying flat near my bust. The seamstress said she'd make one last adjustment, press it, and send me on my way. It was a week before my wedding. I should have tried it one more time because it still never lay flat on one side and I'm sorry to see this in the photos.

I had an overall positive experience at Park Avenue Bridal. My only negative comment was during my initial dress fitting. My seamstress was very abraisive and borderline rude to me and my bridesmaids. It made for a very uncomfortable situation. We spoke to management, and when I came back for my next fitting, the seamstress was like a completely different person, and my dress fit perfectly. I was very happy with the result of my experience though hitting a slight bump along the way.
GUEST

The price was great but I did feel like I had to stay on top of them a bit to make sure my dress was ready on schedule. It did come in about two months later then estimated but thank god they were able to fit in all my fittings and have the dress ready for my big day!

Since the minute I walked in this store I felt like it was a shop I have known my whole life. I went to many many bridal shops and found nothing that I liked or was turned off by nasty staff or someone trying to make a sale. I walked it discouraged but walked out so happy with the dress of my dreams ordered. The sales woman actually picked the dress out, and it was something I would have never picked up myself. The minute I put it on, i knew it was the dress for me. The entire staff was very accomodating to my entire wedding party. Everyone got their dresses there, my bridesmaids, my mother my flowergirls and myself. My experience with this store is off the charts and blows past the 5.0 rating!
GUEST

Park Avenue Bridals overall was an okay experience. Two of my bridesmaids were uncomfortable with the people in the fitting process. They weren't listening to what they wanted. One of my bridesmaids waited until the next fitting to tell her what she wanted again since the other woman would not listen. Another bridesmaid took her dress elsewhere to be fitted. They were sometimes hard to understand as well. My dress was beautiful. Many thought it was a designer dress and I feel it was a dress that I wouldn't have found just anywhere. I had no idea what I wanted going into the fitting. I described the location of my wedding and the first dress the woman pulled out was my dress. I tried on several dresses after that to make sure but that was the dresss. They do know what they are doing.

I had a very good experience at park ave bridal. i decided to go there because many of my friends who have previously been married bought their gowns there too. the service is great and the employees are very friendly. they were even more friendly after i decided to purchase my gown there ; ) they have a very nice selection to choose from. i would recommend that you have to be very organized and know WAY ahead of time when you want to go there for alterations or to look around. they seem to need about 2 weeks notice for appointments. overall i had a great experience and i'd recommend checking them out.

Park Ave was the only place I went to that had the Maggie Sottero Reese. Gina helped me try on dresses and she was very sweet and didn’t pressure me to buy a dress like other places I had went to. My husband also came dress shopping with me, and they were really nice about it (some places were not so nice about men being there). When I tried on the dress, I knew it was the one, and Gina could tell, too. My dress was sexy, beautiful, and the only one that made my husband say “wow.”The alterations I needed were hem, taking it in a bit, and getting cups sewn in. The seamstress I worked with was really nice and made me feel comfortable. She did a great job with the alterations, no complaints. My dress was ready to go on time and in great condition, and they carried it out to my car for me.

I had the BEST experience at Park Ave Bridals! I can't believe I am married!! I had a 2 year engagement and Park Ave was the first bridal shop I went to. I went to 3 other shops after and nothing could compare to the service I got at Park Ave. I started with Patty and ended up going back to her to buy my dream gown! She gave me about 20 gowns to try on and the very first one was "the one"! I told her it seemed like it was too easy and she said that's how it was suppose to be! And she was sooooo right!! I kept going back to that first one and finally quit trying to find better. Patty was so great-she was there for me the whole time. She was nice, supportive and always greeted me when I came into the store. Lucy did all my fittings and she was also wonderful. My alterations were perfect!! She was so talented and funny- we always laughed!! I love Park Ave, I loved my dress and I would recommend them to everyone!

Park Avenue Bridals was such a pleasure to work with every step of the way. I was so lucky to have Joann as my wedding gown searcher because she FOUND MY DRESS! I didn't know what I wanted and was trying on all types of styles. Then she brought over THE DRESS...and it was perfect! Everyone cried and we knew it was the one. The only thing is that it was a little out of my price range. Park Ave Bridals did offer a small discount to help me out - which was great! All my fittings went smoothly and they made me feel special every time I visited.Josephine did my alterations and she was such a sweet italian lady. She made sure everything was fitting perfectly up until a few days before the wedding day. She designed such a GORGEOUS bustle for my dress....it was incredible!THANK YOU PARK AVE BRIDALS!

From the first day I went to Park Avenue Bridal until I dropped off my dress for preservation/cleaning, my experience was great! Everyone's very helpful and always happy to assist me with whatever I need.
GUEST

I bought my dress and the bridesmaids dresses here. Everyone was very nice and helpful. My dress and the bridesmaids dresses came in just as they had been ordered. My maid of honor got pregnant after we had ordered the dresses and they had no problems altering the dress so it fit her properly. Prices are a little high...but what isn't when you are planning a wedding!

I am now looking at pictures of my daughter's wedding. I am SO SORRY I EVER WENT INTO PARK AVENUE BRIDALS IN VERONA, N.J. I had to go to Englewood to get properly fitted after Park Avenue Bridals charged me for alterations. They ordered a different size than I was. I had to add a piece on my chest that was sewn as if a 5 year old sewed it. I am writing this to STOP another person from being so disappointed. The seamstress (older with an foreign-sounding name) I had didn't know anything about fitting a person properly, ordered the WRONG SIZE for me, was exceptionally rude and actually took a beautiful dress and ruined it. I asked the owner Gary if I could pay and borrow the sample (size 14) and I would return it after the wedding and he said, "NO!!!!" How rude. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE... I FEEL IT IS MY DUTY TO WARN YOU ALL OUT THERE HOPING FOR THE BEST NIGHT OF YOUR RECENT LIVES...STAY AWAY FROM PARK AVENUE BRIDALS! There are many more experienced, caring and competent stores out there..
GUEST

I purchased my wedding gown and bridesmaid dresses at Park Ave. Patty was amazing at helping me find my perfect wedding gown. It came in as promised and also Jasmine did a great job with my fittings. 2 of the 3 bridesmaid dresses were ordered at the correct size, but the 3rd one had to be taken in a lot so the measurements were off. However the dresses came in on time and fittings were easy to plan. Gary and the staff were very helpful.
GUEST

Park Avenue Bridals has plenty to pick from. I tried on so many dresses but finally fell in love with mine. My bridesmaids all loved their dresses as well. The only issue I had was with the seamstress who was very rude at times. Other than that, my experience there was good.

I got my bridesmaid dresses here. They offered the best price on the special order dresses and were pleasant to work with (the owner at least).
Would recommend getting a quote on dresses here.
GUEST

Overall great experience. Got my bridesmaid dresses special ordered here- they gave me the best price (tried 4 other places in NY/NJ area) The "altering" is a bit pricey for what they actually did but overall value was alot less than some other ritzier places. Staff was professional for the most part- some of the desk clerks (mostly the women) were a bit lackluster for my taste by the gentleman there was always very pleasant. The few teenagers working there didn't seem to know what they were doing but overall you get a great price and satisfactory service.
GUEST

Unfortunately, I found Park Avenue Bridals after I had already purchased my wedding gown. I found Park Avenue while I was shopping for my bridesmaids dresses. I should note that I already knew which dress I was looking to order, so my review is only applicable to their "No Frills" program. I worked with Gary, and he was wonderful to work with from beginning to end. He told me how much I could order the dresses for, how long it would take...etc etc. He called me when there was a small glitch in my order (I thought it came with a sash, but it didn't) and we straightened it out very quickly. The dresses came in a few weeks early and all 5 dresses were the correct sizes ordered. The whole process was very smooth and the No Frills program was perfect for my bridal party. Thank you!
GUEST

Staff was friendly and helpful and made sure everything was perfect. Had a very wide range of styles and prices, and consultant made sure to keep us in budget

Overall my experience here has been positive. My initial visit to Park Ave Bridals was so-so; I felt like I was a nuisance her and communication was not good. Upon going back and working with someone else, I've had a much better experience and found a wonderful dress. Alterations seem to be on the high side, considering the $250 fee does not include the bustle, cups, or some other things that I think should be included.
Be sure to work with Ginny or Patty and your experience here will be wonderful.
GUEST

I purchased my wedding dress at Park Ave Bridals and my bridesmaids got their dresses here too. It was the 2nd store I went to and only had to try on about 10 dresses to find The Dress. :) The selection is outstanding. This is the store to go to if you are having any trouble at all finding your dress. Also, they cater to all price points, so all you have to do is tell them your budget and they will only bring you dresses within that price range and/or show you where in the multitude of dresses you should browse to select dresses to try on. Appointments are absolutely necessary, so plan ahead and enjoy! As far as price goes, remember that alterations cost a lot - upwards of $250 if you want a bustle. So don't forget to calculate that into your price when choosing a dress.

Park AVenue Bridals was amazing. I thought I had found the dress of my dreams elsewhere, but after working with the consultants there, I was put into the most gorgeous gown I have ever seen. It was something that was not what I wanted AT ALL! the complete opposite in fact, but I trusted the consultant. She told me that she had a dress that would look great on my body type. she was funny too, she didn't let me see myself until my mother saw me first. Sure enough she was right. My mother took one look at me and started crying. When I finally was on the floor and looked into the mirror I felt like a bride for the first time. I had bridesmaids from all over the country, so originally we had gone to a national chain so all the girls could get their dresses locally. The national chain discontinued the dresses without telling me or the bridesmaids. This happened just a couple months before the wedding. I called Park Avenue bridal explained what happened and they helped me out. I was able to come in pick out a new dress for the bridal party (which was even better than the first). Then they helped me maintain the budget that I had set. I didn't want my girls to break the bank for a dress that they most likely would only wear once. They discounted the dresses which fell right to the original amount.I cannot say enough great things about the staff there and their amazing dress selection!!
GUEST

I found the most amazing, unique designer wedding dress at Park Avenue. I came into the store thinking i wanted a particular look (lace/vintage, fitted, etc), but after trying on a number of dresses that had different elements that I liked (I must of tried on 20 dresses), the salesperson found THE PERFECT DRESS. It was a Lazaro, and I knew immediately that it was the one. The only think I didn't like was the cap sleeves - but the seamstress promised to turn it into tank sleeves. And the alterations came out PERFECTLY, like the dress was meant to be designed that way. I couldn't have had a better experience at Park Avenue Bridals. I didn't even shop at any other bridal stores, finding THE dress was the easiest part of my wedding planning, literally found my dress in a few hours. I sent all of my bridesmaids to Park Avenue too, and it was stress-free for them as well. And my dress was the talk of my wedding, i got so many compliments on how beautiful and unique my wedding dress was (and i loved that!!). Thanks Park Avenue...
GUEST

Park Ave. was great! I found my dress there for a few hundred dollars less than other places. The staff was friendly and my alterations which were done by Jasmine were perfect! My bridesmaids also purchased their dresses there and they were nice as well.
GUEST

I had read some not so good reviews about Park Ave Bridal. However, none of them were true in my experience. Not only did I find my dream dress but the staff there was professional and caring. Basic alterations are included in the price of the dress and it is well worth it! The alterations, although minimum, were done to perfection! I am so happy that I stopped by their store by chance!!

I went here to look for my wedding dress. We went in and despite being the only ones in the store, nobody offered us any help. We stayed for a little bit, and even had the salesgirl walk by us several times without a word. We eventually left without trying anything on because we couldn't get into a dressing room since no one was there to help us.
GUEST

My dress was wonderful, thanks to Ann for helping me decide on which one to choose. Jasmine the lady who did my fitting is a genius at what she does. My dress looked like it was $5,000 and I don't even think I paid $1,300. I got so many compliments on my dress, it was unbelievable. Only problem was making appointments for fittings. I was extremely hard and whoever was answering the phone was not very accommodating. I don't have a 9-5 job so that made it hard with appointment scheduling. I would definitely recommend this place to my friends. Have Ann help you find a dress and have Jasmine fit you and you won't be disappointed.
GUEST

I bought both my dress and the bridesmaids dresses here. Service was great until the week of the wedding, I got really sick and had to miss my last fitting which I called them to let them know about it. When I called the next day to reschedule whoever answered the phone was really rude to me! Their rating would have been much higher if this had not happened.
GUEST

I thought they had a great selection for great prices. My dress wasn't fitting right, and they took their time to make sure I was happy and got everything done super quickly.
GUEST

I was very happy with the way my dress was completed for the wedding, but I was did experience some stress because I was encouraged to order a dress size smaller than I thought and had to lose weight and have the dress let out in order for it to fit me. They were very helpful throughout, however.

Park Ave Bridals is the BEST!!! I can't say enough about my WONDERFUL experience there!! I am a full figured girl and was so nervous about going dress shopping. So many of my friends bought there dresses at Park Ave and convinced me to go try on. I LOVED every minute of it!!! MY saleswoman Joan made it fun and made me feel like a princess (and a size 2 LOL!!) The whole experience there was perfect- my fittings went great and I got soooooo many compiments on my wedding day!! I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND Park Ave to everyone!! Especially the "bigger brides!"

Love, love, love the ladies at Park Avenue Bridals in Verona, NJ!! After going to a million places, I had found a couple cute dresses but nothing that screamed "I'm yours, baby!" Well Patty and Co. at Park Ave took the time to really get to know me and what I was looking for (and a few things I wasn't but I'm glad they had me try on!) I got a beautiful couture dress at a reasonable price ($2600, with some significant tweaks and alternations) And I am happy to say that with 74 days until the big day, they have been so helpful with everything--ordering, first fittings, veils, etc. I can't wait to wear my dress!
My mother, flower girl and 3 of my maids got their dresses there also. And everybody just loves them!
GUEST

The people here are extremely professional and SO helpful. We ended up not only purchasing my wedding dress here, but also the bridesmaids' dresses, my mom's dress, my aunt's dress, AND my grandmother's dress. The owners and employees are so friendly and truly went out of their way for us.
GUEST

I was extremely happy with the dress selection. Patty was helping me and she listened to the style that I liked and what I didn't like. She picked out a few dresses based on what I said and she also picked a few in the category that I may not have liked, which I thought was good since you don't know until you try it on. Patty was extremely helpful and really wanted to help me find the perfect dress. She gave me her full attention. She was not pushy. When I went for the fittings the seamstress was great. My only bad experience was on my last fitting, which was the day before the wedding and the day of the rehearsal dinner. The seamstress forgot to hem my dress so it was too long. I would not have known until Patty made me walk to see if I could walk in it - which I could not. The seamstress was a bit flustered and lost the temporary straps to my dress so she had to make a new one. A fitting that should have taken 20 minutes max took me 2 hours and I was late to the rehearsal dinner. The seamstress do a wonderful job once she did it.
GUEST

The dress selection for wedding dresses, bridesmaids, and mother of the bride dresses is amazing. The junior bridesmaids section is a bit lacking. The alterations department is wonderful and can work miracles. It is sometimes difficult to get a straight answer from the front desk staff as there are too many people answering the phones. No appointment is taken for bridesmaid's dresses and the scene is way to chaotic on weekends to get any customer service. The salesgirl who said she would be helping disappeared to take a phone call and then when she returned began helping a new group, leaving us stranded. But all in all, the dresses turned out beautiful and on time.
GUEST

This was a very professional, well run place. From my initial visits to try on dresses, to going back to confirm I'd found the "one", everyone was very knowledgeable and helpful. I didn't hear from them near the delivery due date of my gown and got a little nervous, but it came in on time and the seamstress was extremely accommodating and skilled. Everyone said my dress was one of the most beautiful or THE most beautiful they'd ever seen and Park Ave. helped make that happen, from helping me find what I was looking for to ensuring it fit just right.
GUEST

very professional! great selection...pricey though. recommend if you are looking for specific designer gowns.

Park Avenue has the most beautiful wedding gowns. I had checked out two places, before going to Park Avenue. The first dress that i laid eyes on was the one that i purchased. I bought my wedding gown and my bridemaids purchased their dresses from Park Avenue. My dress was so stunning and beautiful. I received so many compliments on how beautiful i looked from my gown, tiara and veil. All the employees were very pleasant to deal with. The woman who helped me with my dress was Annie and she was the sweetiest lady and very helpful. I recommend this place to all the soon to be brides and for bridemaids. Great place!

I worked with Patty and she was great! They were very friendly, worked within my budget and put up with all of my craziness while I was searching for "The Dress". The seamstress was great, never had an issue with alterations and I loved my dress!

A+ ~ Park Avenue was great from the start. They werent pushy with me to purchase the first time I went and were patient with me trying on a million dresses and coming back a second time to try on the top 3. I worked with Ginny when picking the dress. They let me come and try on my dress when ever i wanted since it came in early. I bought my headpiece and veil there and everything came in on time and was beautiful. Alterations went well and my dress fit perfectly day of. My bustle broke day of during our first dance but that was bc I was insistant on not taking away from the visual of the train so it dragged a little and hubby stopped right on it while dancing and the button popped off....nothing ripped and it probably would have held up the whole night if it wasnt for him:0}I had a really great experience with Park Avenue and I would recommend them to anyone, but seriously listen to the seamtress when she tells you how to do the bustle!

Large selection of dresses and alterations are wonderfully done. My saleslady, Ginny, was extraordinarily patient as I tried on upwards of 40 dresses and came to the shop 3 separate times before ordering my dress! The negatives - they rip the tags out their dresses, which I didn't appreciate, especially if you want to find a picture of the dress online to remember what it looked like. Also, they really mark up the prices of their dresses, and they have a "flat" alteration fee of $250. I thought this was beyond ridiculous since all I needed was a hem and bustle.

I cannot say enough about my experience at Park Ave. From the moment we arrived until the dress was picked up, we were treated wonderfully. Andrea was our main sales person, but Patty also helped out along the way. Andrea is wonderful and felt like part of the family after awhile, after all the drama I had with someone in my bridal party, she was there the whole way along to smooth things over and not let the primadonna I am referring to get her way, LOL. Jasmine did alterations and she was meticulous, not stopping until everyone was satisfied. Patty did help me initially with picking out gowns, and the one that I went with is one I was like, nah, I don't want strapless. Well what they say is right, what you envision is not what you wind up buying! My gown was gorgeous (Maggie Sottero, Violetta), and I added on double spaghetti straps, which I am glad to have done b/c I didn't have to lift it up all night. The alterations wound up being reasonable b/c there were so many, esp. the charge for the bustle, b/c they did 4 different kinds of bustles to get all the detail on the train to show up properly (they only charged me for 1). The veil was pricy but it saved me hassle of finding it elsewhere so I just paid for it.

Ginny, my consultant at the shop, was wonderful. I must have tried on 20 dresses and she did not rest until I found my perfect dress. My seamstress was wonderful and made sure I was comfortable in my dress and had it just the way I wanted it. The store is very busy on the weekend and it is helpful to have appointments scheduled so someone is there to help you right away. SInce they are very busy, the personal attention was not always there but they were courteous enough to get through it all. Don't mention internet price match because they don't want to hear it and want to sell you the products through them (even though it says they price match on their website). They have a large selection of gowns and bridal party dresses which is helpful. Discounts are small if your bridesmaids order their dresses through them. Nonetheless, the process was okay and I was happy with the outcome.

The customer service at Park Avenue goes unsurpassed! They had MUCH to choose from and were extremely helpful. Jasmine, my seamstress was such a sweetheart and fixed my dress to perfection. I gave them a 9 because of their payment policy, we were not allowed to pay by credit card for the final payment, which was an inconvenience to some of my bridesmaids (plus I had to carry over $1000 in cash for my dress, which I wasn't too happy about).

I WISH I had a nice review for Park Ave Bridals, but after being a bridesmaid 14 times AND FINALLY a Bride, my experience w/Park Ave was AWFUL!!! I bought my dress there (which I LOVED), but as SOON as the dress was bought, the "professionalism" stopped!! I had to make MULTIPLE trips back for SIMPLE alterations that cost $250 (flat fee). THen HAD TO PAY $125 to bustle it. (WHO DOES'NT BUSTLE a bridal dress??!?) The ALterations, were NOT done well, the dress kept falling ALL night and the seams were opening!!! I would recommend that one who BUYS their dress/dresses ther GO ELSEWHERE for their alterations!!! I WISH I HAD!! My bridesmaid dresses were bought elsewhere (Alfred Angelo dresses) and my girls paid almost $50 LESS that @Park Ave AND they paid $35 for alterations!!! One was even added onto because of a pregnancy!!! their dresses held up GREAT, I only wish MINE HAD!!!

Very friendly and they will do anything you ask them to do. Dresses are great and the help is outstanding.

WOW....Where do I start? I WISH I had read these reviews BEFORE I purchased my dress there!! I went there because they have a GREAT selection of dresses in a variety of sizes and i purchased my dress ALMOST immediatly. Patty (the saleswoman) was VERY helpful and nice, UNTIL I purchased the dress. From then on I was treated AWFULLY by EVERYONE. NOT only did I have to go back FIVE times for fittings (and there wasn't a lot to be done), BUT they were HORRIBLE!!! The service (or LACK there of) was AWFUL!!! AND the alterations were AWFUL. The sleeves that I paid an extra $250 for lasted about 5 minutes and the hem, MAYBE 10 mins!!! We were PINNING my hem as I walked down the aisle!!! I told a girl in the store to BUY her dress there (the prices are OK) and take it ELSEWHERE to be fitted. They charged a small fortune and THEN told me that alterations did NOT include bustling !!! Who does NOT bustle a wedding dress?!?!? UGH If I had ONLY KNOWN!!!

I love my dress but I had problems. The people that worked there said that the bride that has problems always has a lot of problems. The dress was beautiful and I looked for a long time before I found something that I loved. I am very easy going and the only alteration needed was a hem. When they shortened the dress there was this bubble at my waist where they cut the fabric to pull it up to shorten it. They kept trying to fix it and fix it. Well the last time I went to go for my fitting two weeks before the wedding, by trying to fix the bubble they shortened it too much and cut all the extra fabric out to try to get it to sit flat. When I tried it on you could see my ankles. I kept my calm but was beside myself. The good thing is that they did fix it. And it was a major job to fix because all the lace on the bottom on my dress had to be removed and they added fabric to the bottom and resewed the lace back on. The bubble was gone and it looked beautiful. But it was a lot of stress to have to go thru.

Overall, my experience at Park Avenue was a positive one. However, when I first got there I almost left immediatly because of the attitute of one of the sales women. She really turned it around though and everyone else I dealt with was very nice. Maybe she was just having a bad day? Anyway, my dress was beautiful, and the price reasonable. The seamstress was great to work with, although the day of my wedding, some of the hemming or something came undone, and my dress was about 4 inches too long. My wonderful bridesmaid was able to fix it with pins, but Im not quite sure what happened there, becasue when I tried the dress on at the store, it was fine. I dont know who's fault this was exactly, but in the end everything worked out.

Overall, I was very happy with the dress I receieved from Park Ave Bridals. The dress itself was incredibly high-quality, very beautiful -- like something out of a dream. When my Mom and I first went, the woman who helped us really knew her stuff. By observing which dressed I tended to like, she went into the back and picked out 15 dresses that I might find attractive. And truly, all of them were EXACTLY my style! So ended up finding "the dress" that day. This was in January. They told me that the dress would come in June. I was a little nervous about this, because my wedding was in August. They did indeed cut it close - it came mid-July. But I had plenty enough time to get it fitted. This is where things went a little awry. The tailor did only an okay job. Halfway through the reception, the bustle came undone-- the sewing she had done completely snapped, and we had to rig it up with safety pins. Also, when I went in for the final fitting, I insisted that the dress felt a little tight. The tailor said "oh no, it is just because it is strapless, it is supposed to feel that way". Well, wedding day rolled along, and halfway through the reception, I was struggling to breathe. My husband and I ended up leaving a little earlier just so I could get out of the dress!! But all that being said, every time we called about the dress they were very responsive, very helpful, and very professional. If it hadn't been for the tailor, it would have been absolutly perfect. The dress really was amazing!!

Although pricey, park ave bridals had an AMAZING collection of dresses. When you first walk in, the ambiance is a bit cheesy & outdated, but don't let that turn you off. They were very helpful & made my dress look absolutely fabulous on me - it fit me like a glove. I was SO happy with my dress, & I received numerous compliments on it. I truly felt like a million dollars on my wedding day. :)Also if you go, ask for Anne. She was a sweetheart & SO very helpful. She makes you feel like the most important bride she's ever dealt with.

LOVED my dress and had no problems w/ help there. My only criticism is that I paid for a european bustle and it busted the day of my wedding. SO I was a little bummed about that. It barely lasted 20 minutes.

Ask for Ann, she was a doll! Great people, awesome selection, a wide range of prices. I was extremely happy with their services.

Great store! They helped me when my first dress store went out of business, and were such a help. The staff are very nice and accomodating.

Although I LOVED my dress, there were aspects of Park Ave I did not find pleasant. Service: I had three different fittings and the top of my dress still was not altered the correct way. It was too small in some areas and too large in others. At times my bra was showing when it shouldn't have been because of incorrect alterations.Professionalism: Apparently Park Ave has their designers re-create wedding dresses they have copied from other designers and then jack up the prices. My sister and a few other friends realized this after my wedding and have since decided to go elsewhere to purchase their dresses.Had I not found this out, I probably would have given this place a higher rating because they were able to accomodate me and my bridesmaids in a short time frame.

Most woman are excited about wedding gown shopping but it can be very overwhelming. I loved my dress and they did a wonderful job with alterations and pricing was decent, I just felt like Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman when she walked into the store on Rodeo Drive. They were very snooty until they realized that my mom knew the owner and it changed everything.

I got my dress and my bridesmaid's dresses here and the girls got a discount because we all got them at the same place. It was great that you pay one price and they will alter it as much as it needs at no additional cost. There was an uneven hem the day I picked it up and they fixed it on the spot!!

I got a beautiful dress in perfect condition on time. The service to help me find the dress was great and the tailor was perfect. i got 20% off for buying the dress on the first day I was in the store

Where do I begin. I picked a simple dress and it ended up being lovely. But I found the experience to be lacking. The attendant was not very attentive when I first presented to pick out a dress. I was then pressured to leave a down payment on the dress in order to get a discount. It was a "Sammi Couture" dress which I had never heard of (and still haven't, not to mention it was not inexpensive). When my dress finally arrived, the one detail that I said I didn't want, was on the dress. The only option that I had was that they would send it back and it would arrive 1 week before my wedding (NOTE that I originally ordered my dress 8 months before my wedding... plenty of time in advance)... I opted to just suck it up and not risk any unnecessary aggravation the week before my wedding. The people were not very friendly once they had your deposit b/c they knew that now they didn't have to work to get your business anymore. Not good business etiquette. Had this website been available then, I can assure you that I would not have purchased a dress here with so many other options and people who are happy to have your business.

I got my wedding dress here. The day i purchased the dress the attendants were wonderful and attentive. Once I gave my deposit (which i was pressured to do the same day for a discount) i was treated like they didnt care anymore. I had to go back FOUR times for fittings because they did not do it right. Each time i went back the lady who sold me the dress would walk past me and ignore me! It was expensive and the dress i bought was supposably called "sammy couture" and only sold there which seemed shady to me. Spend your money somewhere else!!

Very great staff. Made me feel like a princess when trying on gowns. I also did my bridesmaid dresses from there and had them ask to company to do custom colors. They handled the request perfectly and I got exactly what I wanted.

I had a great experience with Park Avenue Bridals. I didnt want to spend a fortune on my dress and they had the perfect dress at the perfect price. They were very professional and fun. They understood when I had lots of questions. (I'd never done this before, I didn't know what I was doing). They answered my questions the best taht they could and even offered bits of friendly advice. My bridesmaids however, did not have such a good experience. They catered hand and foot to the bride and kind of pushed aside the bridemaids. I am baseing my "star ratings" on MY experience, not my bridesmaids.
