Parkland Cakes

I didn't think wedding cakes could be beautiful AND delicious. Parkland Cakes proved me wrong!

Parkland Cakes has been in the business forEVER. It's a widely-known bakery (even one of our guests from Murrells Inlet knew exactly who we meant when we told them who'd made our cake), and with good reason.
Parkland is old-school - they know technique and it shows. My groom and I are not into fondant. I know lots of folks are, but it is just not for us. To me it is dry and not very tasty. Parkland works with buttercream (though they do work with fondant as well) and can get it as smooth as any fondant. The decoration on our cake was piped and perfect.
Our cake was small, as our guest list was limited, but they worked with us to design a gorgeous cake that fit our "theme" and budget. This vendor did not treat us like our wedding or cake was any less important because it was "small."
The staff there were very helpful, communicating with me via e-mail to make appointments and finalize the delivery time. They even made time for me to come by with a cake stand we'd received as a gift and confirm it would hold the weight of our cake - which it did! (Parkland also has a number of cake stands for you to choose from if you'd rather rent one.)
Delivery was smooth and on time, and our cake was beautiful. Check out the Parkland Cakes web site and facebook pages for samples of the work; you won't be disappointed.
Now, to the most important thing: the taste. We went with the most popular flavor, almond amaretto. There's a reason this is the number one flavor there. It is divine. For our middle layer, we chose a rich chocolate. Both were moist and flavorful, and even with more cake than we thought we'd need, with the gift bags we provided, we had NO LEFTOVERS, except for our top tier. I doubt it will make it to anywhere near one year, as this cake was to die for. Our cake was as delicious as it was beautiful and worth every penny.

Parkland Cakes makes a deliciously tasty and beautifully decorated cake for any occasion. We chose a three layer cake. Two of the layers were almond ameretto and the middle layer was lemon (my favorite).

One of the best wedding cakes that I have ever tasted. They designed exactly what I had envisioned. I had several guests that just kept raving to me how delicious the cake was & how beautiful it was as well.

First, let me say that I have heard wonderful things about Parkland Cakes and because of their reputation, I was really excited to meet them. During my first consultation, I discussed several different wedding cake ideas I loved because they were very modern and edgy. I was immediately turned off by Brenda's lack of interest in preparing any of these ideas because it was time consuming and very costly. Although I appreciate a vendor giving advice, what I did not appreciate was the idea of a vendor telling me what can't be done on my wedding day b/c it's to time consuming for her. It really bothered me alot and I almost considered another vendor.

My family adviced me to stick with Parkland cakes and after several months of going back and forth, we came up with the perfect cake. The cake design matched my beautiful one of a kind wedding invitations.

When my fiance and I walked into the reception, we were taken back by how beautiful the wedding cake turned out. My wedding cake was one of the most talked about items at my wedding. Even though I had a rocky first impression, I would advise other brides to use Parkland Cakes.

Parkland Cakes did an incredible job on our cake! They were so helpful in designing what the cake would look like- combining a few different ideas that I had to create a beautiful cake. We heard nothing but rave reviews on the cake from all of our guests. I would recommend Parkland Cakes to anyone.

We ordered our wedding cake from here and it was perfect. The design was just what we wanted and they were very easy to work with. The cake was delicious...we cant wait to have the top layer!

We had a cupcake cake with 3 tiers of cupcakes and 2 tiers of cake. It was wonderful! We had lemon flavored, red velvet, and chocolate, all with white icing. It was great! We even had a few cupcakes left for a week or so and really enjoyed that. The lady at Parkland listened to what we wanted and followed through.

Delicious cake and beautiful decorative work! Don't worry if you don't have a clue as to what you want your cake to look at. They have a portfolio full of pictures to browse through and will work with you to design a cake with the elements you love best. Everyone at my wedding raved about the cake. Super moist and delicious with the best buttercream icing! Highly recommend!!

They did a wonderful job. The cake was beautiful and delicious!! I received many compliments on it! I can't wait to have the top tier on our anniversary. The Amaretto cake is my favorite!!

The best place to get your wedding cake by far!!!! Everyone I talked to said they were the best in town and now I know for sure. The cake was PERFECT! They got exactly what I wanted and the look I was going for and it was better than I could've ever imagined. I originally thought I wanted fondont b/c of that clean look but it doesn't taste very good (no matter where you get it). But Parkland makes their buttercream cakes so smooth it looks like fondont!!! I was very happy and glad I decided to go with buttercream esp. since it was very yummy! The cake itself was very moist and stays moist for a long time! My mother-in-law saved some and put it in the freezer for us to try when we go back from the honeymoon and 2 weeks later the cake was still so moist and tasted great!!!

Parkland cakes were a joy to work with. We were able to go in without a clue as to what we wanted and left with a great design that fit us to a T. The cake was moist and yummy. I think that a year from now when we break out the top, it won’t be too hard to get down. They also returned our deposit in a prompt and timely fashion.

My cake looked gorgeous and tasted really good. Parkland was able to create the hexagon cake that I wanted with no problems. The detail work was perfect and crisp. The cake was a little overpriced and the delivery rate was exorbitant. They charged me $100 to go from West Columbia to Lexington. I only had it delivered bc I didn't want to be responsible for trying to get it to the venue without messing it up and I wanted them to put it together bc if they screwed up they were responsible for fixing it. I was charged extra bc my wedding was on a Sunday and that's their day off. Overall they did a good job. I'm still eating cake though, 2 weeks later. It's still good. Hint, order cake for at least 30-40 people less than what you expect bc I brought home the entire 15" bottom layer.

The cake was beautiful, exactly what I wanted, and SO tasty. I was a bit disappointed with their flavor/filling options (very limited), but I was happy with the final result.

My daughter had an idea of what she wanted her wedding cake to be. Her idea was a combination of several pictures plus a couple of original ideas. The baker took time to listen to her ideas, sketched the cake as she understood what my daughter wanted, made adjustments and the most beautiful wedding cake came to life. The baker was even willing to experiment with some of the cake decorations to get the look my daughter wanted. The cake was stunning and also very good. Many guests compimented the cake's look and taste. I would not go anywhere else for a special cake.

Parkland gave me a beautiful, delicious cake at a wonderful price. However, they did not give us the top layer container they promised, nor did they return any phone calls. I had to repeatedly cal again and again until I got a live person. boo for customer service.

Amazing cake and it tasted wonderful too!

The cake was excellent, but be warned that they have a very limited flavor selection, and don't offer fillings. That being said, I loved the cake I ended up with at my wedding and would recommend them to anyone who asks.

Parkland Cakes is the premier place for wedding cakes in Columbia. We designed our cake using various pictures they had in the bakery. It was exactly how we imagined it to be. All of the flavors we tasted were delicious. When designed your cake, they even have white foam circles/squares that you can stack to build exactly the look you like.

The person we dealt with was very professional, patient, and sweet. She was the only person in town willing to make our leaves (others were scared the fondant leaves would fall off). For one of our layers, we wanted red velvet. When we got quotes elsewhere, we weren't charged extra for this choice. I think you get about six standard flavor choices at a certain price, but if you want a different flavor, it costs extra per piece of cake.

The cake was delivered safely, beautifully, and on time!

I have never had so many compliments in my life as I did about our beautiful wedding cake. Not only was it everything I could imagine, it also tasted great! I would highly recommend Parkland Cakes to anyone in South Carolina!

Our cake was so good, we almost can't wait to eat the topper... It was absolutely beautiful, I was so happy when I walked into my reception and saw it sitting there. I had horror stories in the back of my head (my sister's topper was missing), so I was so happy it turned out so great. This vendor actually did a cake for another friend as well, and it was just as beautiful and delicious. No need to shop around, just call and book now.

The cake was wonderful! It was really, really tasty. Classic poundcake with buttercream icing. I think it was our florist who really made the cake look good with flowers, though.

They make the best cakes in Columbia! The almond-amaretto flavored cake is delicious!

Wonderful, delicious, beautiful, amazing....and I could go on and on! The wedding cake was exactly what I pictured! I designed it myself from a few pictures I found online and they did everything I wanted and more! They even worked wonderfully alongside my florist for the perfect touch. To top everything off, the cake tasted as good as it looked and I've been tempted on more than one occasion to sneak a slice before the 1 year anniversary!! Parkland is definately one of the best in the business!!

I knew what I wanted and showed them a pic, and that's what I got! I chose them because the icing was REAL buttercream, no crisco. It melted in my mouth! The price was ok- I gave it 4 stars because it was good compared to other vendors, but I think wedding cakes are overpriced anyways. There weren't a whole lot of flavor options, but they had what I wanted and that's all that mattered to me! (Almond, yum!)

I knew I wanted to use Parkland Cakes when we got engaged. I had heard great things about them, but wondered if they're cakes could actually live up to the reputation. Brenda, the owner, met with me, showed me tons of pictures and let me taste every flavor of cake. I had an idea of what I wanted, and said she would be able to re-create a black and white picture that I had. We booked the date on the spot and she sent me home with a ton of samples that I shared with everyone at work.
My husband was living in another state at the time, so when he came home 6 months later, she let us come back for another tasting so he could try it. He was equally impressed! We finalized the order and I went the week prior to the wedding to finish paying for the cake. The price was very reasonable, compared to what others have paid for cakes that weren't as well done or as tasty.
For the wedding, we had a four layer cake of alternating layers of almond amaretto and chocolate cake covered in buttercream icing. Our monogram was molded out of white chocolate onto the middle layer. It was AMAZING! It looked exactly like the picture I had given her and was and still is the most delicious cake I have ever tasted. My guests raved about the cake and I still compare all wedding cakes to it. None have tasted as good so far.
Our top layer was ruined in our cross-country move not long after the wedding, so I am hoping to have a small cake made by Parkland the next time we are home.

Parkland Cakes are simply the best! They seem to be at a majority of weddings that we are working so they are doing it right! I can vouch because I always make sure I get a slice when Parkland Cakes is at the event!
