Pastor Jon Olson

Pastor Jon Olson was wonderful. My husband and i interviewed several pastors/officiants. They others made it seem like just business, another gig.
But when we met with Pastor Jon there was an instant connection, and a huge relief that we found the most important "vendor". He was sincere in his scriptures and readings, and it made it so personal and memorable for us and our guests. I felt like they were written just for us.

We met with Jon a couple months back and he helped us walk through all the different pieces of the ceremony, drawing on his work with other couples to offer helpful perspective and advice. My fiance and I are not religious and I am keeping my last name, so we were a little bit concerned about working with asking a pastor to officiate, but Jon was extremely welcoming and totally non-judgmental. He also offers pre-marital counseling, and I would imagine that he would be great at it -- he's a very good listener.

Pastor Jon is so wonderful! He made our ceremony so memorable and special. He took the time to really get a feel for what we were looking for and he delivered. I would honestly recommend him to anyone! =) Thank you Pastor Jon!

Jon was the added effervescence that any couple would appreciate on such a special day. He really took the time to get to know us as a couple and did a nice job of incorporating that into our ceremony. He offers counseling leading up to the big day and a rehearsal, both of which we'd recommend though we only took advantage to the rehearsal. He has a very effective, systematic process of helping couples organize the ceremony...from timing of events, readings, customary rituals, and all the many details we would've missed had we not gone with Jon. We are so happy we chose him, which went against our initial desire to have a friend perform the ceremony.

My only criticism would be to really emphasize your level of spirituality and how much you want that incorporated into your ceremony. Although I was raised Catholic, I am not very "God-oriented" in my spirituality and my husband is truly agnostic. Jon may have slipped in a bit more than we expected. A suggestion may be to ask for a transcript of exactly what he will read and you may be able to eliminate any excessive references. However, much of that was balanced out since we read our own vows and many of our guest complimented us on our officiant choice, and we couldn't agree more.

Overall, I would recommend Jon to anyone and we are very happy and feel so fortunate he made our day a beautiful one.

Pastor Jon Olson was wonderful. He was punctual, sincere, and friendly. Our wedding was a destination wedding, so we did not know any churches or officiants from the area and we could not have been happier with Pastor Olson. My then fiance and I were referred to Jon by a friend. She had him officate her wedding and after giving him such a great review, we decided to meet him. Once we met Jon, we knew...he was "the one!" He was great throughout the entire process. We weren't really sure how everything was going to work, but he quickly put that thought to rest by explaining up front what the process was going to be like, and provided samples for readings and vows and helped us figure out what components we wanted to include in our ceremony. He was very easy to talk to, attentive to our needs, and was there to answer any questions we had. We had total confidence in him and when the day finally came, everything went so smoothly. He also responded very quickly to emails, which was a big plus for me since I had a vendor that was MIA at times...very stressful. With Jon, it was never stressful. He was pleasant to work with and was personable, yet professional. We would definitely recommend him.

To say Pastor Jon Olsen did a great job at our wedding would be an understatement. My wife Kim and I did not know where to begin our search for the right officiant since I am catholic and Kim is budhist. Through our internet search, we came accross Jon's website and sent him an inquiry email. Jon responded quickly and with extreme detail as to specific steps we should take in finding the right officiant.

From the initial meeting to the completion of our wedding ceremony, Jon was more of a mentoring figure and a friend who guided Kim and I through every step rather than just a person we hired to perform the ceremony. We regard Jon with the highest respect and admiration and are very greatful to him for being a part of our wedding.

Pastor Jon Olson was wonderful! We live in another state and he made the experience stress free and very positive. He planned out our order of service exactly to our specifications, which we really appreciated. We definitely chose the right person to officiate out wedding - he was funny, charismatic and light hearted... everything we wanted in a wedding service. Our wedding was simply perfect.

Pastor Jon Olson was wonderful. My husband and I are not active members in a church and we were so thankful to meet and use Pastor Olson for our wedding. We met with him a couple of times and he really took the time to understand who we are as a couple. He also respected our wishes to keep the ceremony light on religion and overall upbeat. (He takes the time to understand how religious a couple wants their ceremony to be and also the overall tone a couple wants.) Several wedding guests commented on how much they enjoyed the wedding and how much they were impressed by our officiant.

Pastor Jon Olson is HEP! (He looked like a surfer dude at first appearance.) Since we didn't know Pastor Jon in advance, we needed to get comfortable quickly, or move on. I made the appointment via email and phone calls. Cool...he is internet saavy. Then, we met Pastor Jon. We immediately felt welcome and comfortable. He is a genuinely warm person. Hey, finding the right officiant was probably one of the easiest parts to arranging our wedding! The rest of the planning was a little more painful.
We weren't too sure what we wanted to "happen" in the wedding, and Pastor Jon gave us a list of options. Woo hoo! I didn't have to think to much harder. We wanted a "fun" ceremony with some religious tones (primarily for the parents). We met with Pastor Jon 2 times before the wedding. We described our expectations, and he made them happen. Don't worry, he won't look like a surfer dude at the wedding!

There were a few things during the wedding that were not "traditional", and I panicked a little during the ceremony when "I didn't do it right" . He told me to go with the flow. And because he said it was ok, I felt better. This indicates to me that he is not critical of others.
And I cried at my own wedding. Others were crying too... the whole ceremony was wonderful and touching.

Pastor Olson was great. Jon was easy to reach by phone. He never made me feel rushed. He was very accommodating. He was the perfect choice for our simple little wedding. He made it feel big and special. You should choose this guy. The price was great too.

Paster Jon Olson was the perfect match to our simple, casual, but elegant out door ceremony. Jon was great to work with and helped us with our vows since we had no idea of where or how to start. He was able to give us the ceremony that we exactly wanted a great message and a little humor. We received a lot of great comments about what a great job he did. Pastor Jon was great! We contacted a number of officiants and Jon was by far the best. We met with him twice at his office to sort out the details of the ceremony and kept in contact via email. On the day of the wedding he arrived early and was very professional. We had a small outside ceremony with no PA system, but his voice carried well and all the guests could hear him. His ceremony was personal, touching and funny too. Our guests loved the ceremony and thought Jon was great. We had a few Jewish traditions that we wanted to have included (breaking of the glass and the katubah) and Jon was great with them both. Our ceremony was stress free and went so smoothly. As the bride I was relaxed, knowing that Jon was doing a great job, and I enjoyed myself. It was a wonderful day and Jon was an integral part of it. I highly recommend him!

Jon was so great! I think I contacted him only a few weeks before the wedding because my former pastor wasn't able to oblige. Jon was so gracious and very on top of things. He's so experienced that I felt really comfortable with him doing our ceremony. And he is so great about email and was able to get in touch with him very easily! We had a very short ceremony and it was really seamless thanks to him. I very highly recomend him!! Unfortunately I totally forgot hot much we paid him but I thought it was reasonable and was really happy that he was able to do our ceremony with such short notice!

At the first moment we met with Jon, he was a friendly face, speaks very clearly and was very professional. This made us feel very comfortable. After several months of obtaining Jons services, we e-mailed each other and he sent all the necessary documents to be filled out. After doing so, we met with Jon one more time and he again made us feel very comfortable. He ensured us that with his order of ceremony he did not need to be at the rehearsal. When he gave us that, the rehearsal went off without any problems. When the wedding day came, everything turned out perfect just as it was on the order of ceremony. Jon was very professional and with his smile, it turned out wonderful. We were completely satisfied 100%.

Jon is just a joy to work with and the perfect pastor for our wedding. We're glad we stumbled upon Jon searching through pastors online because he has a very friendly personality since he has been a pastor for many weddings, he knows what he's doing and he does it well. We enjoyed getting to know Jon, as we felt welcomed at the comfort of his home when we first met him. He's well prepared, so even if you don't know what to say to your future spouse during the ceremony, he already has some templates that are adaptable to most people. After meeting with just 1 other pastor we knew Jon would be the guy to direct the ceremony portion of our wedding. If you have the pleasure of working with Jon, we recommend also choosing the option of one hour of pre-marital counseling, which gave my wife and I a better sense of direction and insight on how to approach our lives together as a couple. If for some reason the microphone for the pastor goes out (trust me, it happens, we experienced it at our friend's wedding), don't worry about Jon, his radio-like voice is loud and clear and he can definitely project!

We were very fortunate for Pastor Jon Olson to preside over our wedding. He is extremely professional and an outstanding public speaker. The tone of his voice and his delivery kept our family and friends engaged throughout the ceremony. He is truly one of the best officiants I've experienced and will definitely recommend him to our friends. By the way, everytime our friends and family see pictures of us at the alter, they always comment how lucky we were to have a fantastic officant!

Pastor Jon Olson is not only a wonderful person and a great pastor, but also a wonderful "vendor". He has a great sense of humor, is very serious about what marriage means and is more than happy to share his personal stories of married life with you as well. He was very never late to any prep meeting, the rehearsal or the wedding and every one who met him just loved him right away. We met him in Los Gatos and he drove all the way to Monterey two days in a row (rehearsal and wedding) and it was never an issue. One of the best things about Pastor Jon is that he really listened to what my husband and I wanted in a ceremony and helped us create the most perfect day.

We could not have asked for a better person to marry us.

Pastor Jon did a great job on our wedding service. He was very helful in planning the service in the meetings we had prior to the wedding date, and helped us to create meaningful (to us) vows.

He arrived on time, and got the service going on time. He is very well spoken, thoughtful and fun. Pastor Jon made the event very low stress for me and for my bride. He seemed to connect well with the guests and provided a wonderful message for all.

Pastor Jon Olson was absolutely great. He walked us through the whole process from picking out readings to helping us find a way to honor loved ones while keeping the ceremony joyful. We were extremely happy with Jon. From our first contact, he was friendly, responsive, and a pleasure to work with. There was plenty to worry about when planning a wedding, but once we decided to work with Jon, the ceremony was not a concern at all. It was clear from the start that he is a seasoned professional. Jon worked with us to craft a nondenominational ceremony that suited our personalities.

Most importantly, Jon's service helped us remember what the wedding is supposed to be about. In the lead-up to the big day, it's easy to become obsessed with all sorts of trivial details. Jon brought us back to the real purpose of the day.

Pastor Jon was by far the easiest decision we had to make amongst all our wedding vendors. He is incredibly personable and takes his time getting to know the couple. He has a very well thought out process and is very flexible in structuring the wedding ceremony. He is prompt in his communication and he came up with the perfect wedding ceremony. We were a little unsure when he told us that he'd add some of his own thoughts into the ceremony, but aside from our vows, it's what we remember the most.

Best of all, he thought of the photographer capturing the signing of our marriage licenses by our witnesses, an event that we of course did not see as we were surrounded by all our well wishers. We even tried to trip him up by giving him the wrong start time in our wedding contract stating he needed to be there half an hour later than the arrangements with the church. Again, Jon came through for us...he showed up early telling us that is what he always does.

I have fond memories of our planning stages with Pastor Jon. I highly recommend him. By far the easiest of all our wedding vendors.

It was an incredibly windy day in Monterey, and poor Jon got held up on a previous engagement, so unfortunately was late, plus with a mix up over mobile numbers, it was a very nervous 45 minute wait! But when he did arrive he exuded a calm and professionalism which made for a very meaningful and wonderful experience. The ceremony was simple as we had requested and we were able to choose vows which meant so much to us. All was arranged via e mail from England and it was so easy for us. I would recommend Jon (I won't say again!) but to anyone else who wants to get married in such a beautiful location.

Pastor Jon was recommended to us and we have to say that it was the best recommendation of our entire wedding. Pastor Jon works in a very passionate and professional manner. We felt very comfortable sharing our personal and family information with him knowing that he was getting to know us as a couple and as individuals. I am not very religious, but my husband is, and Jon was able to find the perfect middle for our ceremony. He was incredibly helpful and understanding (I was planning the wedding from southern California, but it was in Northern California). I would recommend him to anyone!

Pastor Jon Olson did exceptionally well at our wedding last August. We were looking for a ceremony that was short (20-25 minutes) and non-religious and that was what he delivered. His detailed process involving several meetings prior to the weddiing and a ceremony questionaire allows you to choose the elements you want to include in your ceremony. He is articulate and has a calming voice making him very suitable for the role as officiant. All in all we were very satisfied with his services and would recommend him for anyone seeking a wedding officiant.

Please note that he is often booked well in advance so be sure to contact him as soon as you've decided you want to include an officiant in your wedding.

Pastor Jon was incredible. My fiance and I met with him, and were immediately comfortable. Pastor Jon Olson was amazing. By the time I go married, I had attended at least 30 weddings. And never has the officiant been commented on by myself or anyone else in attendence. Until our wedding. Pastor Olson received many kudos from our guests. He did such a wonderful job communicating the love I have for my wife. Couldn't have imagined an officiant being any better. Jon was a wonderful officiant. He worked with us to develop a ceremony that would best fit our thoughts, feeling and beliefs. Even though he is a Pastor, we wanted to have a non-religious ceremony.
