How I first heard of Pastry Heaven was from one of my fellow co-workers. She highly recommended this place as it was who she used for her own wedding. All I can say is that my new husband and I are very happy that we chose Pastry Heaven. Our wedding cake is one of the few things that we agree was exactly perfect on our wedding day. Jose did a marvelous job. The cake looked exactly how we wanted plus tasted great too. My mom and I have a major sweet tooth. We tried many bakers and this was the best and all our guest commented on how good the cake tasted. Nice and moist and the perfect amount of sweetness. Even though I am a big chocolate fan, the fruit basket and princess cake were my favorites. Not to mention that this was the cheapest cake we found in the area. If you are on a budget, we recommend getting a flat sheet of cake (placed out of site of your guest) and a smaller tiered cake (something small and nice for pictures that you can cut). That's what we did. If you have to have fondant, they charge a flat fee based on the size of the cake versus an additional fee per person. Most bakers we looked into charged at least an extra $1 - $2 per person just to have fondant. Our cake served 300 and the fondant charge was only $100. Well I hope this review help. Go ahead and check out Pastry Heaven for yourself. I'm sure you won't be disappointed. Bon apetit!
Any flavor you get from Pastry Heaven will be awesome! I had a 3-tiered cake with: mocha kahlua, lemon cake, princess cake, and a sheet cake with fruit basket flavor --- and everything was ssssooo delicious!
I tried at least 5 bakeries, even the most popular ones and the big names in the Sacramento area --- and hands down, Pastry Heaven was the most delicious of all.
Jose Tellez (owner/baker) is very easy to work with and you can't go wrong with any flavor you choose.
