There were one or two areas surrounding our wedding planning that we decided ahead of time that we wanted the best - and our photographer was one of them. Thankfully, we absolutely got the best of the best when we got Patrick Cox and Cox Photography. Cox Photography already had a well-established reputation in the Greenville area before we started looking for someone to photograph our wedding, but we still planned on shopping around. However, it was less than 30 minutes after we left our introductory appointment with Patrick that we knew we had found our photographer. From the moment we sat down on the couch and met Patrick to this week when we got our wedding pictures back, we've known Cox Photography was the best and we have not been disappointed. We had Patrick shoot our engagement photo's, wedding, reception, and do our wedding video as well. After looking at the 2,000 plus pictures he took a few weeks ago, we are blown away by his talent and approach to photography. He has a unique ability to capture candid moments and make them look beautiful - which is what we wanted for our wedding.
If you are looking for someone who will touch up every picture and use special effects to make your pictures look better, look elsewhere. If you want top quality with a real authentic approach to photography, an AWESOME person to work with and guide the wedding party through 1,000 smiles and keep them laughing, and someone who pays attention to the little details, Patrick and Cox Photography is for you. Sure, there are cheaper options out there, but in our opinion, you pay for what you get - and we got the best pictures that will last us a lifetime. Worth every penny!

Patrick Cox is one amazing photographer. He was so easy to work with and he made our photo sessions so much fun. He was able to capture the raw emotion during our wedding and you barely knew he around. We have no regrets about getting Patrick Cox to shoot our engagement pictures, wedding day and my bridal portraits! The only bad thing is that there are TOO many good ones to choose from! :) Not only did the pictures turn out great, but we really enjoyed Patrick's relaxed personality and how he always took time to learn more about us or tell stories about his life. There are so many photographers around today who have just picked it up as a hobby or a way to make money, but I can promise you Patrick has a skill for it and knows what he is doing. Thanks Patrick!

Patrick was the absolute BEST investment I made over my entire wedding process! From the beginning I told my family the one thing I really cared about during the wedding was that we could get the best photographer, no matter the cost, because I felt like the pictures are the only thing you can take with your forever. Not only was Patrick THE BEST around, but his prices were extremely reasonable given his talent and outstanding eye for the beauty he finds in everything. Our photographer was Olivie and he was so nice and personable. The pictures turned out a little dark and we didn't get some of the ones we asked for, but they fixed them later.
Patrick and I have been in the wedding business for awhile now. When I do a wedding with Patrick Cox I know that my bride will feel beautiful which translates into amazing pictures. He has this natural ability to sense any awkward family photo situations and defusing them promptly. His work is beautiful, natural and almost takes on an ethereal quality. I will actually tweak my makeup because of his way of capturing light. For me to do this, I must believe in the photographer. As far as his interpersonal style, many brides tell me that he is a calming presence for a not so calm day! I agree totally. As soon as my bride steps in front of his camera and his soft voice gives her the first direction, I see the transformation. I'm always glad to see Patrick Cox on the scene. Yes, I am a photographer, but photography is not my job, it is my obsession. My life is in such a good place, and I would have it no other way. I love what I do. I have been making photographs for over 20 years. Seemingly I am never satisfied with what I do. I am continually studying, researching, and experimenting to find the next things that will make me happy. My work is my passion that is second to none, save my wife and children. Journalism is my preference, although I can adjust my style to meet your needs. I am very capable to produce a superior product in a short period, but nothing can beat being given the time to explore and seek out the very best (this is a shameless hint). When I appear to wander around aimlessly, I find that which cannot be found otherwise. The interesting thing, is I never know what that is until my lens runs into it. Let me do my thing and you will receive a product which will contain emotion, love and personal value.
I retired from my engineering job to pursue photography. I never thought that it would turn into what I have now. I have traveled to the East, Middle East and Europe, which lead to very enriching experiences. So, here I am ready and willing to travel and exceed your expectations. I am grateful that I can live my dream.
I have won my share of awards, but your praise is much more rewarding and fulfilling. I suppose the awards are a way to validate that others like what I am doing.
I have four camera sets and in my opinion every lens worth having. From Canon to Hasselblad, from Leica to Mamiya, pick your poison. Since both sides of my brain work to some extent, I love the technical things as well as the art. I shoot film and digital (medium 220 and 35). I shoot with lenses from the 50’s and the latest technology. It just depends your your mood and mine. I am a natural light, available light shooter, but also have tungsten, Elinchrom studio and portable, Metz, and hotshoe flashes. I studied light as an engineer (I did robot programming and visions system programming in the late 80’s and 90’s) I studied light when ccd’s were .2mp and a million dollars. I studied light with the doctors who wrote the white papers for some of the first ccd’s. I like light, and I hope you like how I use it.
