Pennington Parties has DJ'd at several events I have attended and I was very impressed. I hired them to Play music at my sons wedding, and DJ at his wedding reception and it was awesome. Pennington Parties made my wedding very special. Their attention to detail was amazing - Scott and Mark were obviously very commited to making my day exactly what I wanted. They even came to the wedding site ahead of time to make sure they were prepared the day of the wedding. 1. Have you committed yourself to follow the ADJA Code of Professional Conduct?
YES...Pennington Parties is fully committed to providing a professional service and
maintaining the highest standards of professional conduct. We know that the event
you are planning is a special one and we will do everything we can to make it enjoyable.
2. Are you insured? Can you supply me with proof of liability?
Yes...we carry liability insurance to protect our business and YOU. We can provide a copy of our Certificate of Liability Insurance as necessary, which can be used as proof to your venue.
3. Will you be willing to play requests and discuss music ahead of time?
Absolutely! We will certainly accept requests and will play from your desired song list. We will also respect the fact you may not want certain songs played. All of our music is screened to be age appropriate. We will work with you ahead of time to understand the types of music you wish played and will build our play lists accordingly. A list of our current library of music is available on request.
4. Do you use Professional Equipment?
YES...We use professional-grade sound gear. Our amps are Behringer. Our Dual CD decks and mixer boards are Numark, and our lighting effects are predominately American DJ.
5. Do you provide backup equipment at my event?
YES...We have two complete sets of equipment, so in the unlikely event of a component failure, we can swap it out for our spare in a matter of minutes. We have two sets of our digital library present at any engagement and we also bring along our collection of CD's as a backup to the digital libraries. In addition, as members of the ADJA, we have many resources available to us in case of an emergency. We are involved with other Disc Jockey's in the region who can help us out with an unexpected situation.
6. Does the Disc Jockey know the proper etiquette for your type of party?
YES...and we can assist you with the planning of your special day. We will coordinate with your event planning to make sure we meet your expectations. We can even MC your event and provide the music that you desire.
7. How much time do you allow for set-up?
We generally plan to arrive 1-1/2 to 2 hours prior to the event to set up. We will coordinate access to the venue with your event coordinator. If feasible, we also attempt to do a site survey prior to the event day to make sure we know where we will be setting equipment, where to draw power, facility constraints, etc. We plan to be setup and in-place before your first guest walks through the door.
8. Do you provide a written contract?
YES...We have a standard written agreement that we execute at time of booking. This protects both you and us and ensures that we have all the information we need to properly schedule and plan for your event.
9. Will you be suitably dressed for our occasion?
We will dress appropriately for your event. For formal events such as wedding receptions, we wear tuxedos. For less formal events, we can wear shirts and tie, company polo shirts or other casual wear. If the event has a theme, we will endeavor to dress for that theme. We can discuss attire when you book an event.
10. Do you belong to a professional organization or trade group?
We are proud to say that we are members of the National American Disc Jockey Association and the Richmond Chapter of the ADJA. We regularly attend their events to network with other area DJ's and keep abreast of the latest techniques and technologies in the DJ business. We are also members of Responsible DJ's through the School Dance Network. As such, we have access to national playlists (and Do Not Play lists) to make sure all of our music is age appropriate.
