We eloped and then had a big party to celebrate with friends and family afterwards. We found Cara early in the process at a local Wedding Show/Fair. We already had the date, the venue and the band booked. Cara took care of the rest - from getting the custom invitations printed and mailed, to finding a bakery that would make a croquembouche (french wedding cake) for us. She worked with us to figure out exactly what type of feel and atmosphere we wanted for the party, and then took care of all the details in terms of decorations, tables, linens, chairs, etc. She has connections to some amazing vendors (and significant discounts with those vendors) and worked directly with them so we only had to work directly with her.
The day before and the day of the event she and her husband took care of everything. She was at the theater (our venue) making sure that everything was being set up correctly, that all of the other vendors were there and everything was organized. She worked with the caterer and the band all night so that we didn't have to worry about a thing. She made sure that everything ran smoothly so that all we had to do was enjoy the night. The next day she made sure everything was cleaned up and taken care of so that we didn't have to worry about any of it.
We really couldn't recommend her services enough. She was helpful, professional and flexible and willing to do anything needed to make sure the whole evening a lot of fun for us and all of our guests. She was a pleasure to work with, and our celebration wouldn't have been nearly the success it was without her.

We were going back and forth about whether or not we wanted to hire a day-of coordinator for our wedding day. I have two words of advice...DO IT! If you can swing it in your budge it is definitely worth it...I tell everyone that I talk to that it was the best decision that I made.
We worked with Cara and her husband at Perfect Day Productions and are happy with our experience. We met with them a few times prior to the wedding day to go over major details, our vision, as well as a day-of timeline. We had a few problems scheduling these meetings but that can happen with busy schedules.
Starting a week or two before the wedding, Cara takes over contacting and coordinating with all vendors in order to make sure everyone is on the same page. The day-of, they take care of EVERYTHING. I honestly don't know what I would have done without them. It sounds cliche to say you get to be a guest at your own wedding, but it is true. I had not a worry in the world in regards to flow, timing, coordinating everything...it was WONDERFUL!
Cara handled every issue that came up with ease and that is worth it's weight in gold. I was able to enjoy the day without the stresses of handling the small details. Her and her husband were responsive to mine and my husband's needs as well as both of our families. They continually asked if there was anything we needed or to reassure us that everything was fine and to have a great time.
Like I said, if you can swing it, do it! And go with Cara at Perfect Day Productions...you won't regret it!

FAQ for Perfect Day Productions
I'd like to get a planner, but can I fit it into my budget? If you're interested in a planner's services, meet with them one-on-one to discuss your needs as well as your budget. If the planner is truly committed to working with the bride, you will be able to work with the planner to come up with a plan to assist you. Be sure to come prepared to the consultation with the questions that you need answered.
How far in advance should I contact a planner? As soon as possible. You should allow yourself enough time to shop around for the best person to work with you. Know what type of services you will need or at least have a ballpark idea. Depending on what you will require should help determine when you should make an appointment. If you're going for the total wedding pampering, give yourself at least a year in advance. If you're doing most of the planning yourself but need someone there the day of, try around the 3 month mark before your wedding.
