We contacted June Watkins less than a week before we got married - we had only decided a few days before. I received a personal email response very quickly after we sent our information. She contacted me that night and took the time to listen to our situation (location, faith differences, previous marriages). Everything turned out absolutely perfect. From her flexibility with a last minute location change to the vows we spoke....we were very, very pleased. I would highly recommend her to anyone.

June is a very special person who really makes not only you and your spouse, but your guests feel very calm, relaxed, aware, and included in her ceremonies. She listened to all the elements that my husband and I wanted to include and wove them into an amazing ceremony that truly reflected our love story and our beliefs. I would be honored to officiate for you on the most important day of your life! The person you choose to be your officiant should be warm, caring, and compassionate as well as educated and knowledgeable. I am proud of the many "thank you’s" and testimonials I have received from the hundreds of couples who were happy with their ceremony. I really take the time the listen to each bride and groom’s requests and wishes, so that I can custom-write a ceremony that reflects their traditions, as well as their hopes and dreams, for a perfect day.

What officiant services do you provide?

Interfaith Ceremony, Non-religious Ceremony, Single Religion Ceremony

What religious affiliations do you serve?

Christian (no denomination)

Can you accommodate the hearing impaired?

Are you willing to perform a ceremony at a non-religious site?

Yes, I have performed hundreds of ceremonies on the beach, in city parks, in couple's homes.

What is your attire for the ceremony?

black robe or jacket with white stole. For non-religious weddings, suit or dress

Are you flexible in the wording used throughout the ceremony, including the vows?

I have never performed two ceremonies that are alike. I love to collaborate with the couple so that their traditions are incorporated.

Do you allow the couple to write their own vows, if desired?

Absolutely

Do you have a list of readings pre-selected, from which the couple must choose?

Yes

Do you require that premarital counseling be done?

No, but it is a service I provide.

Are you willing to perform pre-ceremony rehearsals?

Yes, if you have a wedding party with more than 4 attendants I recommend a rehearsal. My fee is an additional $100.

Do you supply a sound system?

Yes, I have a wireless microphone and speaker. The system is battery operated and so can be used in remote places like the beach or park outside. Additional microphone available for a reader.

Additional Advice

How should I choose a wedding officiant? When choosing an officiant, one should ask where the officiant went to seminary. Often these days, folks are becoming officiants without any education or training. And while you might get lucky and the person might be able to speak well, it is a great idea to choose an officiant who has religious education and training so that they are able to incorporate your traditions into the ceremony.

Which areas do you serve? I travel as far East as Rosemary Beach and as far West as Fairhope AL and anywhere along the Gulf Coast in between. Additionally, I have been asked to officiate wedddings in other states and I am happy to help! We will simply negotiate the travel fees in addition to the officiant fee.

Do you ever negotiate your officiant fee? Hiring an officiant, or an ordained minister, is not like hiring a florist or a cake designer or even a photographer. Taken along with other vendors, your officiant fee just may be the most cost-effective expenditure of the day! For that reason, I rarely discount my services, since my fees are already very competitive and very low. I spend many hours prior to the ceremony making sure that the ceremony is written exactly as you have asked. I revise, and rewrite. I more often than not have spent hours with you either in person or on the phone or by email. I do, however, offer a military discount when asked.
