We rented lanterns and room dividers from Perkins for a wedding at the American Visionary Art Museum and were very pleased. The staff at Perkins was great to work with, and everything looked perfect. We highly recommend their services.

My experience with Perkins was AWESOME! Perkins Productions provided both lighting for my daughter's wedding ceremony and reception along with pipe and draping for the reception. I had a great experience during all aspects of the wedding planning and I highly recommend Perkins for lighting and decor services.

I planned most of my daughter's wedding as she lives out of town and attending flight training. I researched and received 6 different proposals for lighting. Throughout the decision process, Perkins was extremely professional and quite helpful. My daughter and son-in-law were married in the MD Science Center Planetarium. This venue required special lighting to highlight the couple during the service and I wanted to make certain the lighting was perfect and not cheap looking.

Perkins not only had experience working in this venue but was very reasonably priced. Working with Leslie and Gene was wonderful. They were professional, provided expert knowledge and great suggestions at each phase of the planning process. The were extremely responsive, flexible and made me feel reassurred every step of the way.

The evening was Magical. The lighting in the planetarium was magnificent and the pin spots and uplighting provided a wonderful ambiance during the reception. I highly recommend Perkins ! Special thanks to Gene and Leslie for making my daughter's wedding a truly magical event!

Leslie and Gene are amazing. They were able to add lighting to my venue with only two weeks notice! I was so relieved when I called them to ask for lighting for my 9/10/11 wedding to hear Leslie was flexible and sweet enough to work with me. They installed the day prior and took down the day after. I will recommend Perkins time a million. And the lighting was beautiful! I would use Perkins again in a heart beat. =) Thanks so much Leslie, Gene and the whole Perkins crew!

My now husband and I hired Perkins to provide florals and pipe and drape for our recent wedding, April 23, 2011. All I can say is WOW!! The Perkins Staff (Sheila) did a fantastic job! The flowers were breathtaking. I received so many compliments throughout the entire evening. They turned out better than I envisioned. I cannot thank Perkins enough for their work. They were professional, friendly, and easy to work with. I highly recommend them for wedding florals. Again, thank you for playing a part in making my day so memorable!

Perkins delivered completely. They had everything we wanted including an amazing white dance floor, pipe and drape and tons of white cloth. Everything was in top condition, and they made it very easy to work together. I would never use another company!

I thought Perkins and Eufloria were awesome!! We met and discussed the vision for the evening. When I arrived at the reception site I was blown away by how we were exactly on the same page and it was even more beautiful than I could have imagined. Multiple people at the wedding commented on how they loved the flowers. It made the event. Lighting was perfect too. I knew they were recommended by the venue so I left them to do their job--I didn't contact them much because I knew they were pros--and they came through as expected! I did ask run a few ideas by them about additional features and they were very honest and right on about what would and wouldn't be good to add. I really appreciated their honesty--and it wasn't about just making money for them--it was what really made sense and would look great and be worth it. Love them!! Use them!!

I met Shelia with Eufloria through Perkins Productions. She had great ideas and a great personality. Shelia was up to date on what works and suggested really good ideas but didn't push anything on me. I gave her my colors and a general idea and she flew with it. My centerpieces were gorgeous simple and vibrant. She added a green palm leaf that was wrapped around inside of the vase, it was so neat and worked with the hot pink roses. The flowers my girls carried were vibrant and bright. The arrangement and choice of hot pink flowers she used for my bouquet worked so well together. All of the flowers fit into exactly what I had in mind. They were also delivered on time right to my hotel room where we were getting ready. I was very happy with how everything turned out.

I wish there was a rating above 5 because Perkins deserves it! They did the lighting and decorations for our wedding ceremony and reception (we also used their flower company - Eufloria). Everything was AMAZING. We got sooo many compliments it was unbelievable. They are wonderful to work with and have really great and modern ideas for decorations. I also didn't realize it, but lighting makes all of the difference in the world for the reception and ceremony rooms. I HIGHLY recommend Perkins to everyone!!

If you want to completely transform a space--call Perkins. Case in point: When we arrived at their offices, we were concerned because it looked like a warehouse space. We were completely wrong. When we walked in, we found a gorgeous space that was decorated with taste, style and creativity.

We worked with Linda and Gene Perkins and were extremely pleased with the service, the attention to detail and the pricing. We ended up requesting a stage covered in white for our ceremony, 30 paper lanterns, green uplighting and a floor-to-ceiling green curtain that gave the space the 'wow' factor we wanted.

Your dollars will be well spent with Perkins. Not only did I love the design and decoration, I loved that I neither had to set it up or take it down or figure out what to do with the decorations once the reception ended. Perfect!

Loved working with Leslie and Gene Perkins. They make a great tag team...creative and kind. They treated us as if we were family. They go the second mile to make everything perfect. Our tent looked so beautiful!!! (and we are fussy) Do not hesitate to hire Perkins Productions.

Perkins Production took a peach and green room and transformed it into a beautiful Winter Wonderland. They created snow tunnels of light airy fabric with lights and hanging snowflakes at each entrance and draped the entire room with uplighting. They pinspotted the tables, hung backdrops, you name it, they did it. What impressed me the most was they went the extra mile. I hired them to drape off the stage. When they did that they noticed that there was a second area behind the stage and red was showing. They took it upon themselves to drape off the second area so the effect we were trying to achieve was accomplished. They went above and beyond and were key in making the room beautiful and as I envisoned. They were professional, knowledable, accomodating, nice and easy to work with. HIRE PERKINS!!!

We were absolutely thrilled with the quality of service that Perkins Productions provided for our wedding. Their knowledge and experience helped us to bring our vision to life, as can be seen in the "Maryland Bride, Spring/Summer 2008" issue. We used Perkins Productions for our lighting - we had uplighting and pinspot lighting, as well as these huge chinese lanterns that hung over the dance floor. They were great to work with and did a fantastic job getting everything the way we wanted it to look. They are very knowledgeable and very easy to work with!

Perkins Productions were simply amazing. We interviewed three façade companies and they were by far the best price and the best quality. They totally changed the look and feel of the room. The whole setting was romantic and beautiful. I can’t say enough about how impressive Perkins Productions is. Hire them if you want to have a beautiful setting for your wedding day.

Perkins Productions added the perfect touches to our wedding. They worked with us to create several lighting and design elements that transformed our reception tent from a blank canvas into an elegant and beautiful space. Perkins filled the tent with lighting in our colors, provided a beautiful and unique dance floor and band stage, and used fabric swagging to make the tent appear more intimate and festive. Our guests loved the design and all commented on how different and unique the wedding looked. Perkins also used a special art rendition of our names to create a "gobo" light on the dance floor. Perkins worked quickly, were very responsive and easy to reach, and really knew weddings. I highly recommend Perkins.

Perkins made my reception beautiful. I had lanterns and pinspots on my florals. They placed a curtain of lights behind my altar which dressed up the space tremendously. They made my reception romantic and unique.

Perkins did both our Pipe and Drape and our flowers. Their florist sat down and reviewed exactly what we wanted, made changes easily and stayed well within our budget. They were very professional and even arrived early to set up.

Perkins was one of my ideal vendors. When we met with them at our venue and discussed my vision, they gave me suggestions for ways to make the vision come to life. I wish more vendors did this, instead of just taking orders. They provided a proposal listing all of our options and allowed us to chose the ones that we wanted a la carte style. We made adjustments up until the last minute, yet Perkins suggestions truly transformed the room and made for high style reception pictures. They did everything that we discussed.

They are a "mom and pop shop" that know what it takes to make your room pop. I felt that for the price that we paid, we should have been provided with some sort of small discount or free item, but pricing is average for the industry. I recommend them.

We utilized Perkins' for the decor in our ceremony and reception. We were very pleased with the way everything looking, the draping, lighting, pillars, etc. The only issue I had was responsiveness. In their defense, I believe that Perkins was in the process of moving to a new location, but still I was frustrated that I had to leave several messages in order to received a call back. I understand that they are accustomed to working much more elaborate/expensive weddings than ours, so we couldn't help but wonder if we were getting less attention because of that. Overall we were pleased with the way things turned out, and feel that their decor really added to the ambience of our wedding.

I was somewhat disappointed by my Perkins Productions lighting at my wedding. The lighting was very expensive, but our wedding planner told us that it would really make the room look fabulous. We did blue up-lighting on the walls, and pinspot lighting on the tables. The blue lighting looked nice, but the pinspots were a bit of a disaster - for the price we paid, I was not happy that one of the lights didn't work, and it happened to be at the groom's family's table. In addition, the lighting level was way off - they had them turned up way too high in my opionion, and it looked more like spotlights than anything else! In hindsight, I would have skipped the pinspot lighting and just stuck to candlelight, I think it would have looked prettier and would definitely have been cheaper. However, the blue lighting was very nice and did add a lot to the room.

This review is designed to help a bride to be with her many choices in lighting. Let me first say that the owners of Perkins are both very nice and knowledgeable vendors. However, the overall experience in responsiveness was less than stellar. If you are a bride that expects a response to an email in less than a week or sometimes two - this vendor might not be the one for you.

When planning a wedding, prompt responses are key in moving forward in the planning process. At first Perkins was very prompt in their responses - especially in sending their lighting proposal. But it was downhill after that. After meeting at our venue and discussing new add-ons - I had to email them after almost three weeks to get a cost for the add-ons. And I usually had to email them after a week to get a response to a previous email. I even sent an email asking them to confirm that they had received final payment - and never received a response!Finally, I emailed them 5 days ahead to confirm that they would be there for our rehearsal - never received an email from them to confirm. Yet they did show up on time and set up for the rehearsal.

This being said - our final product for our ceremony and wedding was adequate. It was a bit bright but that is not necessarily Perkins issue - we were on the roof of the Maryland Science Center and the lights from the city were bright as well. So the combination of city and tent lighting could have been too much (all based on individual perception). Overall, Perkins showed up when necessary and provided everything agreed upon in our contract. When choosing this vendor just be aware of the lack of prompt response time.

Although the table pin lights looked great, as did the dance floor color wash, and other elements of the venue lighting - one big element was left out, which left me almost in tears during the reception. I am incredibly unsatisfied with Perkins Productions. Please read on...

During the planning process, Leslie from Perkins and I discussed in great detail about how they would create gobos to project the night sky onto the tent of our venue but at the reception there were no gobos and no explanation about why they were missing. The star projection was very important to me. I had even painstakingly made escort cards and favors with small stars to tie into the theme and announced in the invitation that guests would be "dancing under the night sky". Two days after the wedding, I emailed Leslie to find out what happened but did not receive a response. I also followed up with a letter and still have yet to hear from her. Mistakes do happen but I am very troubled that she never reached out to me to apologize or to explain.

As a professional meeting planner, I can say that I have never encountered such disregard for client satisfaction and follow-up. I surely will not consider Perkins again for personal or professional services and will recommend to my colleagues and to potential brides to look for alternative production companies.

I was not impressed at all with Perkins Productions responsiveness. If you are searching for a vendor who will respond to you within 3 days at the least, my dear, this vendor is not the one for you. I sent Leslie countless emails; even made follow up calls and STILL received no quote. I wound up having to seek other lighting companies to assist me with my event.

I worked with Perkins for my recent wedding - they did the tent lighting, ceiling draping, and landscape lighting. After a lot of thought, I decided it would be helpful to future brides to share my experience with them.

This is overall not a great review so I will start with the pros: The tent was beautiful. The end product was almost exactly as we discussed and I was very happy with the overall appearance.

Now, the cons: I expected that for the money we were spending with them, I would receive amazing customer service. I would say for the bulk of the planning phase I received decent service - not the most responsive bunch, but when you have months to plan, that's not really a big deal. However, there was a major problem two days before the wedding - a major piece of equipment that was needed to operate the lights was mysteriously not included. Perkins says it was the venue's responsibility, the venue says it was Perkins' responsibility- not sure where the truth lies but I do know that it certainly wasn't MY responsibility to have known that we might need this. The extra cost was $500 (on top of an already extremely high bill) and at least the venue covered half, and I would have expected that for how much Perkins was charging me they would have done the same. Instead, the proprietor kept me - the paying customer - on the phone for over 20 minutes yelling at me. Absolutely would not let me get a word in edgewise and had me in tears, telling me that I was wrong and out of line for expecting her - the expert, who has done many weddings at the venue before - to inform me that I might need this equipment. I asked if I could remove some outdoor lanterns to cover the cost and she refused, and since I had already paid in full there was absolutely nothing I could do.

I'm sharing these details because I think the way a vendor treats you in these types of situations is just as important (actually more important) than how they treat you when you're pulling out your checkbook. The whole thing was SUPER unprofessional and I was blown away by how rudely they treated a customer. So in conclusion, there are many vendors out there who want your business and can do a good job. Every single other vendor I worked with treated me with respect and integrity, except for Perkins, so brides - just be aware.

The staff at Perkins Production is not very friendly and the quality of thier products are very low grade.They do not offer any fabric in white everything is off white. The products they offer is not all that great if your looking for top quality service, professionalism, and products my advice would be to seek elsewhere. The owner Leslie Perkins was very rude and unprofessional during my wedding planning. This company is more of a mom and pop company, any time you have grandma answering the phone and stating i do not know anything and the owners are on vacation she will give you a call back when she get's back is definetly not professional especially during a week before my wedding day. Definetly not worth the money for the products that they offer. I went to Davinci's Florist and they were able to exceed my expectations i highly recommend Davinci's Florist over this vendor to provide you with the platinum wedding look at a low price. Perkins Production definetly not recommended!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Without a doubt, Leslie & Gene are the best at what they do. Their creativity is unmatched, and the level of service my clients receive from them is unbelievable. I was never a strong believer in the effect that lighting could have on a wedding reception until I worked with Perkins. Now I try to convince everyone that lighting really does make the biggest difference in insuring a truly memorable wedding reception.
