Peter and his wife were amazing from the day we first met to the quick processing of our photos after the wedding! Peter made sure that we had a variety of photos in all of our planned locations and even had other ideas in mind when we needed to travel indoors because of weather. He captured some fabulous photos and we had them within two weeks! Personality of the photographer is important because you're with them all day and Peter is so great - you won't be disappointed!! He was even able to photoshop a photo that we had forgotten to take! He's been the photographer for a few of our friends' weddings as well and everyone had the same great experience. Book him early!

The BEST decision we made for our wedding!

Choosing a photographer for our wedding was not the easiest task on our to do list. However, Peter made it easy, realistic, and fun!! I am very much a photo person and wherever I go my camera is with me. With this in mind I wanted to choose the perfect photographer for one of the most important days in my life...I did...Peter was the best choice for my wedding!!!! I will continue to use him in the future for special events!

Peter is very flexible, easy going, and his prices are fair. He will work with you to prepare a package for your needs. Peter is fun to work with and his eye for that perfect shot will amaze you! He also has a great sense of humor!

We had a winter wedding and wanted pictures in the snow. Even though it was cold outside and the snow kept coming down Peter went outside several times for us to capture our outdoor shots. The pictures turned out amazing. We didn't have bubbles or rose petals as we walked out of the church...but the snowflakes were perfect!!!! It was our winter wonderland!

Working with Peter was an awesome experience. Very professional, yet fun. He rolled with our crazy ideas and improved upon them, and then made them better with some great photo effects after the day.

He posted our photos on a web site so that relatives could choose their favorites and then even gave us the "negatives" which is practically unheard of in the wedding photo business.

I would highly recommend Peter to anyone looking for any kind of quality photography, wedding or otherwise.

We considered two very different types of photographers for our wedding. We started by talking to Bella and getting the corporate kool-aid. Its sort of like ordering at cheeseburger at McDonalds. You know what you will get, but that doesn't make it taste good.

We then went to Peter. Peter lives right down the street from us which was a plus. We met for coffee and we knew immediately he was the one. He put us at ease right away which was important, and we knew the man who would be taking our wedding pictures and his style.

Peter did a wonderful job at our wedding. He was everything we hoped he could be and more. He took beautiful shots of my wife and I (no small feat considering I'm not exactly photogenic). Our family and friends are still raving about it! And he was fast - we got a slideshow in a couple days, and our dvd with all the photos (almost 1000!) in a few more. Our friends who got married weeks before hadn't even seen a hint of their photos yet.

To go back to the earlier metaphor - why order McDonalds when you can have a good steak? Book him while you can!

Peter did our wedding a little over a month ago and we still just can't get enough of the pictures! He captured every moment spectacularly -- looking at our albums really brings the entire day back to life. Our venue was pretty large and we had a few costume changes -- Peter was running around back and forth making sure he really got everything. It was clear that he was working hard the entire day. I don't know if he even took a moment to sit down!

I can't say I know much about photography, but I will say that Peter does a great job paying attention to the little nuances of each photo, like lighting and space. He'll even set up shots that I never would have thought of, which all turned out great. These are all things you really don't appreciate until you finally see all of your pictures in full form.

What I also appreciated about Peter's work is that he is able to make everyone smile and look genuinely happy in every picture, even the posed ones. I'd like to say that everyone was glowing just because they were at our wedding, but I think Peter had a hand in that too. =) He really took the effort to get to know us and our families, which not only allowed him to accurately capture our personalities, but also made everyone feel much more natural around him as he was snapping their photo.

The last thing I'll say is about Peter's service as a photographer. Every email and phone call was answered almost immediately, if not within 12-14 hours. He made it seem like we were his only client and would always give us full attention. You can't ask for better service at any of the larger photography firms.

Thank you Peter for such a fantastic and successful day!! These are pictures that we will share and keep with us forever -- they are exactly the way we want to remember this day for the rest of our lives.

I haven't seen all the photos yet, but Peter was just an awesome photographer to work with. He is attentive and approachable, plus he worries about the timing/schedule so he can jam pack all the must have pictures in! I loved working with him and while on my honeymoon, he sent me a preview slideshow and it was spectacular. I'm picking up the rest of the photos later this week, but I'm sure they turned out great!

I can't recommend Peter Coombs enough. He was our photographer for our wedding 3 weeks ago, and my friends and relatives are still talking about how fantastic he was. My husband and I agree - he became part of the party - keeping people at ease and capturing some beautiful, heartwarming, or just plain hilarious moments. He was so thoughtful and anticipated shots we didn't know to ask for, but after seeing them, are so happy that he got. WIthin 3 or 4 days, he had emailed us a short slideshow of some shots for the day that we were able to share with family and friends, and he delivered all of our photos within a week.

My husband and I are more than thrilled with our wedding photos. After meeting with Peter, we knew he was the perfect choice as our wedding photographer. He genuinely wants you to have a great time at your wedding and comes along for the ride. The day of the wedding he was more than flexible with plans changing and being pulled around by us or our families to get different shots at the reception. Our families told us multiple times how great of a job they thought Peter did, even before they saw the pictures! Our pictures and a very thoughtful video were ready about a week after our wedding, which was amazing :)

My husband and I chose Peter as our wedding day photographer and boy are very glad that we did. Peter was on time and ready to go the afternoon of the wedding. He came up with some great shooting ideas that were very creative. We were inside, outside, on a motorcycle : ) His personality rocked too. He was very fun and friendly and made us feel very comfortable. I have been in weddings in the past where the photographers were late or weird or unprepared. Peter was none of those things! He was able to recommend ideas but also was willing to do anything specifically that we wanted to do. Peter got many awesome shots at the reception too! We returned from our honeymoon 9 days after our wedding and Peter had sent us a slideshow of the highlights of the wedding to a very cute song - such a special surprise! We watched it so many times because we loved it so much. We were able to send it to our friends and family and they all loved it. That's something you don't get with the bigger photography companies. We received all of our pictures just a couple of weeks after our wedding. We sent our links to guests and they are able to print their own pics without having to buy crazy expensive prints from a photography company. To sum up, Peter was great. We had such a fun time with him and he gave us exactly what we wanted out of wedding pictures. I would recommend him to any friend getting married for sure!

Peter was very professional and helped us create some very unique photos. He sent us a slide show of highlights a week after our wedding, which was a great surprise. Peter even had an intern who shot photos for free, which we received as well. He gives all of the photos on a DVD, which means that you are able to create wedding albums online, which are much more reasonable than the ones you buy through a studio. Peter was friendly, funny, and helped us capture all of the memories we wanted. I would highly recommend him.

I cannot say enough great things about Peter! He was the one vendor that my husband knew right after meeting that we had to have. He has a charming personality and got along with everyone. He made great suggestions for photos, knowing we wanted less of the posed look and made sure to get everything I wanted. He was a great sport on our 3 ½ hour trek through Chicago prior to the ceremony and even added on a last minute stop of his own for some extra photos when we realized we had time to spare. Both of our mothers adored him, as did our guests which allowed him to get some great candid shots. He even got us all of our photos within two weeks of the wedding! I cannot recommend him enough.

Peter is simply an amazing person. He is very kind and was wonderful to work with. From the time I met Peter, I knew that I didn't need to be concerned when it came to my photography. I am very much into photography so this was by far the most important part of my wedding. He catches moments that you might not even think of and works very well with everyone. We had a lot of kids in our bridal party and his patience was beyond expectations. I have referred him to several people since my wedding and my parents have as well. He was very well liked by everyone. He had a video put together of some of my photos that he had sent me before I had even got back from my honeymoon. Simply put, if you don't have a photographer, don't hesitate to hire Peter. He is the type of person that you want in your life after the wedding.

I have also reviewed Peter on Yelp. While it's been almost a year since our wedding, I still keep in touch with Peter and have recommended him to just about anyone who will listen. I used him before he had his current packages and it was ala carte, so I cannot comment on the packages, but I had such an extraordinary value. It really is unbelievable. My wedding album (which he designed, although it is printed elsewhere) is absolutely exquisite and literally every single person (and no, I'm not exaggerating) who has seen it has told me it's the nicest album they've ever seen. So many of my friends who used large photography studios and paid about four times what I did (and didn't even get all their prints) have been jealous when they compare my pictures and album to theirs. I cannot speak highly enough of Peter and strongly recommend you stop your search now and use him!!

Peter was one of the first vendors we hired. We met with a few photographers and both agreed that we liked Peter's style and personality the best...he seemed like the best fit for us...and he was! He got some amazing shots...even had to lay on the sidewalk in the cold for some!! He was a pleasure to work with and made everyone feel very at ease and comfortable. He got us a "preview" of some of our pictures right away (as I'm sure he knows with weddings that the bride is overly anxious to see how the pictures turned out!). And we got the rest of the pictures super fast, too. We couldn't have gotten a more perfect and fun photographer...yet at the same time charming and professional.

What a wonderful photographer!

We located Peter by doing an online search, and he agreed to do the photography for our daughter's wedding.

In Oak Park, Illinois, on the hottest and most humid day of the year, without air conditioning, in a multi-story church he hadn't photographed before, he was energetic, professional and maintained his lovely sense of humor. The photos were terrific, and he managed the many family shots by the altar quickly and with beautiful results.

The reception was a lively affair, with much singing and dancing. Peter's photos captured the essence of the event perfectly.

He took both traditional shots and lovely candid ones. His communication both before and during the events was everything that we could have asked for.

The photos were delivered promptly afterwards.

We would recommend him to anyone for any event. So delighted that we hired him!

I keep finding myself looking around, trying to find someone with an event coming up so that I can recommend him. So, you, reading this—hire this man!

Here's why:
Peter was flexible, festive, and skilled. We had an unorthodox wedding schedule spread across two different evenings and two different locations, but this was no problem for him—we just spread the hours around however we liked.

He battled the grueling heat of our un-air-conditioned August wedding (dubbed The Hottest Wedding Ever by my cousins) and still produced beautiful photos of our friends, family, and the church itself. It was such an epic accomplishment that my mother has also posted a review about his work. We are eternally grateful for his patience and efficiency as well as the fact that he made sure that my husband and I remained hydrated and cheerful throughout the night.

At the reception, we took a bunch of outdoor shots that look like something out of a bridal magazine—who knew we looked so good? Peter also got truly wonderful shots of the dancing and general merriment. And just to ice the cake, we got some fun shots of random wildlife as well as a fifties-horror-movie-esque scene with the ten-foot-tall ants that were on exhibition at the reception site (the Morton Arboretum). It fully captured the often silly, always joyful experience of our wedding.

Even after the wedding was over, we kept on loving our photographer. Our pictures came quickly—and with photoshopped extras and a slideshow movie we hadn’t expected! Peter had as much fun with our photos as we had with our wedding, I think.

Peter was a perfect fit for our wedding party. He was fun, patient and very creative in getting us the best pictures on our day. In addition, he was very personable and not invasive. Peter made sure to capture every special moment that we had requested for him and he gave us additional ideas, some of which were photos we did not even think about taking. Our family and friends can't stop talking about how AWESOME our pictures came out. Peter even sent us a little preview slide show of our pictures with a song playing in the background. It was very thoughtful of him to do that unexpected surprise. We would definetely recommend him to our family, friends and anybody else who wants a GREAT photographer.

Peter did a beautiful job with our wedding photos. We really wanted someone who would capture the "moments" of the day and he did that and more. He was creative, fun, and accommodating to our needs. Peter was absolutely wonderful to work with. He was always available to talk with me about details. He didn't try and push and package deal, but was very helpful in helping me to create the kind of book and photos that we wanted. We had a very unique aspect to our wedding, as we went out on a boat and cruised around the harbor after the ceremony. Peter had no problem getting in a small chase boat and following us, to get some of the best photos of the day. His assistant Gina accompanied him for the day (at our request), and made sure we had photos from on the boat as well. Of all the vendors I worked with for my wedding, Peter was the best. Photos were one of the few things I actually didn't worry about, because he'd been so responsive and helpful in the planning process.

Peter was by far the best photographer a bride and groom could ask for hands down! He was so responsive to every need, and made us all feel relaxed from the moment he started snapping photos. He has such a laid back and happy demeanor, you cannot help smile and have a great time. He really went above and beyond what was contracted, even making sure to fulfill my bridal fantasy of being on a fire truck with hot firemen on my wedding day!! Within days of our event, he had put together a short video montage of just some of the photos set to music so we would get an idea of what to expect. I cried I was so happy with how it turned out. Peter is an amazing photographer who is easygoing, flexible, fun and professional. He took beautiful photos of our wedding that my husband and I feel captured our wedding prefectly. Peter was a great photographer to work with! He impressed us right off the bat by arriving on time fully prepared. He is a nice guy, relaxed and goes with the flow. He works very hard to catch special moments and has a good sense of humor. We liked how he was part of our day, but not intrusive. We like to think that although he was working, he had a good time. My husband and I got married in the Naperville Il area. As any couple planning a wedding knows, it can be a very stressful time. There are so many things that become so important, and sometimes feel like they are out of your hands. Like picking a photographer. Many times you chose a company and they assign you a person that is supposed to capture all of your most precious memories and family members on still frame for life. Kinda scary if you have never met them. Well, I am here to help. We got extrememly lucky in our assignment of photographer. If I had imagined the perfect match for our wedding in a photographer it would have been Peter Coombs. He was on time, and very prepared. I had a wonderful conversation with him on the phone prior to the wedding where we discussed some possible set choices, and he gave me some advice on what to think about pre-wedding day as far as what pictures I wanted. He has a wonderful sense of humor, and a fantastic work ethic. He was everywhere I wanted him to be, and we had an absolute blast with him. My whole wedding party, including my husband and I had never had as much fun taking pictures in a wedding as we did with Peter. And I am sure most of you have been through a boring picture session or two in your time. The pictures came back absolutely gorgeous, and he even created a little video for us which is absoltely awesome. We had a wedding late last year in Chicago (family scheduling problems) Although we booked at short notice Peter Coombs did an excellent job making sure everything was covered and that my wife and I got all the shots we wanted.
Peter emailed me to ask if I would write a review for him and I was very pleased to do it. His work was great and he really went the extra mile to get the best pictures. He also did some special photoshop work for us which looked fabulous.

This is an overall review of Peter Coombs as a photographer - we used him three times - engagement photo session, wedding and Trash the Dress Photoshoot.

Engagement Session: We just got our photos and free proof cd of our engagement shoot and Peter Coombs was FABULOUS - I loved almost every single photo! We felt so comfortable around him and he truly captured a LOT of intimate shots that I never even knew happened! So far, in working with Peter Coombs - he's super friendly, and I loved our engagement photo session. His original specialty is actually theatre photography and he comes to us from London, England! However, he also does wedding photography, which as he put it - is a production in itself - which it is!! He was very professional but was able to give us enough instruction while allowing for us to be natural and comfortable. Within a couple minutes, we were able to relax and just be ourselves while we did some of the simplest things. Many of the time, I forgot that he was there and he was truly able to capture our intimate moments.

Wedding: Peter Coombs was really great - he was everywhere and anywhere. He was promptly on time and for the most part, everyone was very comfortable around him and half of his photos, I didn't even realize so many things were happening at the same time. He really captured some of our intimate moments as well as some really funny ones, as well.

Trash the Dress: Peter was amazing - he came up with some fabulous ideas and I felt like a rockstar posing around and goofing off. He had some fabulous ideas and a lot of their photos turned out really well. I have to admit that my favorite photoshoot with Peter was the Trash the Dress one.

I booked Peter in 2006 for my wedding last year on the recommendation of a co-worker.
He was very engaging and my fiance and I hit it off with him immediately. He was very attentive and worked hard to make us feel comfortable.
Before Christmas we did an engagement session with him on Michigan Avenue which was great fun, he had lots of ideas and didn't make us feel pressured about time. The results were fabulous!
The wedding itself was a pretty frantic day and a couple of problems came up with my flowers and the reception but Peter was calm throughout and did a great job of keeping me and David (my husband) relaxed and happy.
He took around 1200 pictures in the end and we could'nt be happier The quality of the pictures themselves was excellent.
We also ordered an album from him which we love and we are getting extra copies for my parents and his sister ( who is hoping to book Peter for her wedding in 2009)

We booked Peter for our wedding in downtown Chicago on August 30, 2008 and I have to say that we couldn't have
asked for a better photographer. Peter has a great personality and he exhibits the perfect mix of professionalism and
control. Peter was very punctual and patient throughout the whole day. He was aggressive when he needed to be and
he made us laugh on numerous occasions. Peter is very creative and has a great artistic mind, which became apparent
to us once we saw our pictures. He didn't miss a shot during our wedding ceremony and reception and he took the
wedding party to several great locations…the pictures turned out awesome. We have tons of great pictures for our own
personal albums and picture frames, and we plan on giving a lot of other pictures to our family as Christmas presents.
I know that weddings are very special events, but I also know that they can be very stressful. One of the best decisions
we made with respect to our wedding was hiring Peter. He was so easy to work with and we really enjoyed working
directly with him. He really helped our wedding run smoothly and we received our pictures right when we got back from
our honeymoon. We would hire Peter again in a heartbeat. And in fact, we plan on working with him again for our next big event.

We were extremely lucky with our photographer, Peter Coombs. When we started to plan our wedding my mom and I
went to one of those silly bridal expo's and Modern Image Studios had a booth there so I signed up to meet with them.
We went to the studio to see some of the photographer's work and when we saw Peter's pictures we knew he was
the right photographer for us. I was a little nervous because we hadn't ever met with him in person but as it turned out he
couldn't have fit in better with our group. He made everyone feel comfortable and kept us all laughing the entire day. I never
felt like he was in our face and yet he captured EVERYTHING! Our pictures turned out FABULOUS, I have looked
at all 1200 of them 3 times already, I love them!! Thank you so much Peter for making our day so special!!
