Picture Perfect Makeup

I highly recommend Picture Perfect Makeup and especially Aisha! She made me, my mom, and all of my bridesmaid look amazing on my wedding day. Aisha knows the balance between putting on enough make up for the cameras, but still keeping us looking natural and ourselves. She uses very high-quality make up and it lasted THE WHOLE DAY despite tears and all! I wish I could get my make up done by her everyday!

Aisha is prompt, friendly, professional, and very talented. Her prices are very reasonable, especially for the quality of her work. She goes "above and beyond" and even helped cover up some scarring on my back that I had been worried about. I had no worries on my wedding day, largely thanks to Aisha! She is a pleasure to work with and as a "real" bride on a budget, I assure you that you are getting a great deal with Aisha. She is the best!

I highly recommend Aisha (Picture Perfect Makeup) to any bride who plans to get married in Washington DC. I did a trial run with three sisters expressing different opinions about my wedding day makeup and Aisha was very professional in handling all the suggestions and clashing personalities. She focused on what I wanted yet she was flexible enough to do three versions for me to choose from. At the end, everyone (including my opinionated) was happy with our makeup. Aisha ended up doing the bridal entourage's makeup as well and she got along with everyone. Very professional and talented, I highly recommend her.

When Aisha arrived to my hotel room to do my make-up, I was not doing well nerves-wise. Aisha has such a calming and happy personality that I don't even remember the point when my nerves went out the door. She made me and my bridal party (some at no charge) look beautiful for the day. I had a 9-hour long wedding and my make-up held up! She was also happy to give me tips on make-up on the day of, and over email leading up to the wedding. I wish Aisha all the best and would use her again if I ever had a need to have my make-up done. I definitely felt like royalty in her hands!

I got married last weekend and had my makeup done by Aisha. She did such a phenomenal job (just like the trial) and gave me a look that was beautiful and still looked like the natural me, just a lot better. My own sister couldn't finish her sentence for staring at me and when I asked what was wrong she just said "I keep staring at you because your makeup looks so good!" My photographers (Ever After Visuals) recommended her and I decided to go with her for my engagement shoot after I read on her website that she had a less is more attitude in terms of makeup. I literally almost never wear makeup, so I think I present a bit of a challenge. No matter what, I'm going to look made-up. However, Aisha did a truly amazing job. My mom showed my wedding pictures to her co-workers and they all commented on how beautiful I looked. My mom told them, my daughter's pretty, but she doesn't normally look this beautiful! Aisha transformed me!

Typically, I think it is cheaper to get hair and makeup done with one person (I used My Mobile Salon for my hair but not makeup, as I had already booked Aisha). However, I think it is totally worth it to splurge on Aisha - as did my bridesmaids! After my maid of honor got her makeup done, 2 of my other bridesmaids saw how beautiful she looked and decided to get their makeup done as well.

My bridesmaids mentioned how calm and fun Aisha is to work with. She definitely enhanced the atmosphere as we all got ready. Aisha was extremely responsive via e-mail and a pleasure to work with! I would recommend her to anyone!

Aisha was fabulous! Very personable and calming to be around on such a nerve racking day. LOVE LOVE LOVED Giannina! The whole experience was wonderful. She did a great makeup trial (which I scheduled for the day of my engagement photos!) and was open to experimenting to get the color and application just right. It was all perfect on the day of my wedding. Giannina did the makeup for myself, my mother, my aunt, and most of my bridesmaids, and was able to capture a natural elegance in each of us. One of my bridesmaids doesn't like wearing much makeup, but Giannina did a light application that looked perfect on her. Another bridesmaid was so impressed with Giannina's work that she went in to get lessons with her after the event. And when any of us wanted a tweak to the look, Giannina graciously altered whatever we wanted. I love that she doesn't use just one brand of makeup, but uses the best product out there, whatever the line it's from.

We all looked perfect for the day - elegant, polished, but not too made up. My friends and family looked the best I've ever seen them, and I definitely felt like the blushing bride.

Aisha was absolutely awesome. It was such a great pleasure to work with her. She was actually the make-up artist for one of my bridesmaids' wedding and I knew I wanted her to do my wedding make-up when we first met. Harmony did my make-up for my wedding along with 2 of my bridesmaids. She did an excellent job and I got many compliments from family and friends during the wedding on how beautiful I looked. When I got engaged, there was no question in my mind that I wanted Aisha to do my wedding makeup. Aisha was very patient and gave me honest suggestions on how to achieve my ideal look. During our trial, we went through a few looks together until we found the one that was perfect for me! I pictured my wedding makeup to look glowing, very red-carpet Hollywood glamour. And during the wedding day, I looked exactly as I had dreamed! Aisha was very professional, timely, and very flexible on my wedding day. She not only did my makeup, she also did my mother and my bridesmaids makeup, as well. During the wedding reception, I received nothing but compliments the whole night about how wonderful our makeup all looked! I will definitely be using Aisha again for future events! Aisha is awesome! I felt very comfortable within seconds of meeting her during my trial session. She had many good suggestions about what works best for me. On my wedding day, she made sure each person's makeup was age appropriate (from a seven year old to a fifty year old!) and was very professional. My mother (who is VERY picky!) thought she did an amazing job on everyone and my guests kept commenting on my makeup. Giannina could not have been more perfect. After she had finish with my makeup I could not believe the person staring back at me. Aisha did a fantastic job for myself and my bridal party! I couldn't have been more pleased with the results. With some pretty bad make-up experiences under my belt, I initially was going to go the do-it-yourself make-up route. Aisha knew exactly what I wasn't looking for - no heavy white eyeshadow or overdone cheeks. She was extremely accomodating especially since I had to plan my wedding in DC while living in Boston. She worked with my schedule and was as flexible as possible. Not only is she extremely talented, but she is such a warm, caring and fun person to work with. My event was wonderfully planned with Catherine at the Hilton Garden Inn (Fairfax, VA), the choices we made in the planning were carried through the entire event and were exceptional! I could not recommend them more highly! The hotel and staff were top notch!

Giannina from Picture Perfect did an AMAZING job with my wedding make-up. I absolutely loved how it turned out. It looked great and it felt great- it didn't feel heavy on my skin, very natural. It lasted over 12 hours! My mother and mother-in-law also had their make-up done and they were very happy. She came to the hotel where we were getting ready. Our makeup artist's name was Aisha and she is a gem! Unfortunately, our original makeup artist backed out the week before the wedding and she was surprisingly flexible enough to accomodate us. She was prompt in responding to e-mails and was punctual the morning of. I found Picture Perfect Makeup's prices were in the medium-high range, but not outrageous, and definitely well worth the money. The main thing we were looking for was a makeup artist that could bring out each individual's best features and didn't make us all look the same. Aisha was PERFECT! All of us were happy with our makeup and for some, it was their first good experience with a makeup out of many bad experiences. Four of us were Korean and the fifth bridesmaid was Caucasian and Aisha did a perfect job on our own unique looks and skin tone/complexions. We will all refer you again, thanks so much Aisha!

I was VERY lucky and booked Giannina only a week before my event. She was professional and very easy to work with. I felt comfortable telling her what I wanted and giving feedback and she was knowledgeable in response to any questions I had. She showed up on-time and was very efficient. Both I and all my bridesmaids loved how we looked and received many compliments. Considering such short notice, I felt very lucky to book her and I would recommend her to family and friends. Aisha Alves did my makeup on the day of my wedding, and she did a wonderful job! Everybody commented on how good my makeup looked - including guy friends who have absolutely no idea of the intricacies of makeup : ) - the look Aisha gave me was really me, "just better". I was concerned that my makeup would not last the entire day, but it really did. Aisha turned up promptly at my hotel room at 8:30am my wedding morning, and despite the early hour was cheerful and calm. She explained everything step by step, and was also very receptive to concerns and suggestions from myself and my maid of honor. She continued refining my makeup until we were all satisfied that it looked great. It took just over an hour to get the complete look, and my makeup lasted from 9:30am to at least 11pm that night when I finally stumbled exhausted but happy, back into the hotel room.
I did a trial with Aisha about 2 months before the wedding, and was immediately assured that she would do a good job on the big day. She did that and more. I highly recommend Aisha and Picture Perfect Makeup!

Aisha Alves is such a talented make-up artist!! She came to the hotel room to do my make-up as well as for my mom and aunt. Aisha did my bridal makeup and also makeup for my maid-of-honor. She was always very quick and friendly with all of the emails we tossed back and forth, did and amazing makeup trial for us both. I don't typically wear much makeup and was a little worried at how I would turn out looking, but she gave me a simple, natural and yet very elegant look. My maid-of-honor has eczema on most of her body, and when Aisha was done with her makeup, her skin looked glowing and healthy... so much so that she decided to book her for her upcoming wedding too!

I worked with Aisha and she was amazing. She was flexible about scheduling the makeup trial, and was patient with me as I was nervous after previously having a not-so-great trial with someone else. I requested Aisha from the start and was thrilled that I did! The trial was great (although a bit awkward in a very busy Sephora), but my makeup the day of my wedding was amazing! It is quite expensive, but so was my photographer and I didn't want bad makeup in photographs I will look at forever, so I can easily justify the expense :)

Aisha was wonderful...she worked with me to make me and my bridesmaids look their best, and still look like ourselves! Thank you for a wonderful day!!

Aisha was fantastic. She was very open about why she was choosing the colors she was using which was very helpful for someone like me who isn't used to makeup. The makeup suited by dress perfectly and looked great. On top of that Aisha was wonderful to work with.

I would definitely recommend Gianinna from Picture Perfect Makeup. She did my make up for my wedding (July 2008) and did a great job! She was very easy to work with and very professional. Aisha did a wonderful job from Picture Perfect Makeup for my and my wedding party's makeup. She was very responsive to my e-mails. Aisha went through a couple of make-up trials with me until I was satisfied with my wedding day look. On the day of the wedding, my bridesmaids were all pleased with how their make-up turned out. The majority of my bridesmaids (as was I) weren't use to wearing a lot of make up and Aisha gave us a very natural polished look. We all received many compliments on our make-up. Aisha Alves did a fabulous job on my bridal makeup! She was punctual, fun, easy going yet professional and most of all gave me a look that I loved! During our trial, Aisha really listened to what I was looking for and she offered great suggestions on ways to improve and take care of my skin before the wedding.

Aisha was my makeup artist for my wedding. I had her do makeup for me and my 6 bridesmaids. Everyone's makeup turned out great and everyone looked beautiful. Another plus is that she had the timing worked out perfectly so we were on time the entire day of the wedding. I really liked my makeup and it lasted through the entire reception despite a packed sweaty dancefloor. She used high quality products too, which I think definitely makes a difference. Highly recommended!

Aisha did a great job on my wedding makeup and was very professional, knowledgeable and has a very calming demeanor. My big thing was I wanted to look like myself and not super "made up" and my makeup looked really natural and stayed put all day (and through hurricane-like weather). She is definitely pricey but she spends a lot of time with you on the day of the wedding making sure you look perfect and also comes to where you are getting ready which makes it a lot less stressful. The only thing I was slightly disappointed by was at my trial I left not really liking the way she did my eyes and when I emailed her to see if I could come back and have her just redo my eyes she was going to charge me money to do another trial. So I would recommend that if you go to the trial and don't love the makeup have her try a different look before leaving - which is probably what I should have done. I decided to forgo the second trial and just wing it on the wedding day and she did a great job. So all in all I was very happy with the end product and my makeup looks great in all of my wedding pictures. She also did my mother's, mother-in-laws and a bridesmaid's makeup and everyone looked great. Doing my mother-in-laws makeup was a very last minute decision and she accomodated that no problem.

Aisha did a great job on my makeup and the makeup of my bridesmaids. She also did my sister's wedding so I knew about her services ahead of time. She's professional and knows how to work with your skin type. I loved knowing I could count on her to make me look and feel my best on my wedding day!

Aisha of Picture Perfect Makeup did my makeup for my wedding along with my 6 bridesmaids and was fantastic! From the makeup trial to the day-of, she made sure I was completely happy with the way I looked. I came to her not knowing exactly what I wanted to do - I told her I look best in pinks and browns since I have warm toned skin, I prefer a lighter lip and a darker, smoky eye, and that I wasn't afraid of color and drama. She took it from there and I ended up looking fabulous! She was extremely responsive to my emails (and there were a lot of them!) and helped answer any questions I had.

On the day-of we ended up running extremely tight on time - Although I had planned out every 1/2 hour of the getting-ready process, we were getting our hair done at a salon uptown and Aisha was doing makeup in the hotel rooms downtown. The salon got backed up so the girls were running late getting back to the hotel. There was an hour when the poor makeup artists were just sitting in the hotel room with no one to make up! Luckily Aisha thought ahead and brought an assistant to moisturize and prep which really moved the process along. They both took it in stride and made the time right up! All 7 of us were finished and beautiful by 4 pm to meet the limo downstairs!

One suggestion - instead of having the bride purchase touchup makeup, give out little sample sizes to her and the other girls. While I loved the makeup I purchased from Neiman and still use some of it for everyday, it was definitely an added cost that I could have done without.

Other than that, everything was perfect and I would highly recommend Aisha and Picture Perfect Makeup.

Giannina was very friendly and easy to work with. I didn't want to look overly made up and she did a great job making me look natural. I got many compliments on how great I looked!

Aisha did a great job. She listened to what I wanted and it came out great. My mom, who never wears make up and was very nervous about getting it done, said that she made her feel so comfortable. She kept us all looking like a better version of ourselves, not someone else!

Aisha is incredible! We've worked together on a number of weddings and each time the bride and the bridal party have looked flawless. She is so talented!

The first time I met Aisha and the Picture Perfect Makeup crew, they came to the hotel where the women were getting ready to provide makeup for the entire bridal party.
