Hiring Emilie is probably the best way you can spend your money on your wedding day. From start to finish she is the consummate professional and she will completely take all the weight off your shoulders. Even though I hired her for day-of coordination, she was helpful long before the wedding with checklists and seemingly instant replies to any of my questions, no matter how silly or complex. She made sure we had thought of everything and handled alot of stuff herself. And then on the wedding day itself she was unbelieveable. Every question or request my family or I had, she was way ahead and either had a plan or had already taken care of it. Things just appeared where they needed to be. I didn't have to worry about anything the day of. And all that is maybe easy enough when you have a straightforward or "typical" wedding, but ours had a complicated timeline, many moving parts, two ceremonies, and a minor natural disaster on top of all of it (our tent flooded!). Throughout it all Emilie was cool as a cucumber and handled everything. As a bride, knowing that she's got it made it so that I could enjoy the day even with the inevitable snafus.
We hired Emilie from Pink Orchid Weddings for our day-of planner at our wedding at the Four Seasons in Boston on 6/9/12. Initially, we did not want to hire a day-of planner...we figured it was probably not worth it, but a friend convinced me I would feel very relieved to have the help. I fully admit that I was completely wrong in my initial thinking... and hiring Emilie from Pink Orchids was the best decision we made on this wedding! It was 200% worth every penny...she was phenomenally helpful...she recommended vendors during the wedding planning stage (all who ended up amazing, by the way), she put together the the most thorough and impressive schedule I have ever seen for the day (and made sure we stuck to that schedule, without being bossy or assertive), and she put out a few fires on the wedding day that I didn't even notice b/c she was there....she was patient, classy, great with our family and wedding party, and super on top of things. She is seriously a PRO. She even helped us design our menu cards, seating cards and gift bag welcome notes and they came out great!! I would HIGHLY recommend Pink Orchids without a doubt...you won't regret it. I promise!
From the very start I was incredibly impressed with Emilie's professionalism and organization. She was sweet and it was clear she was great at what she does! She made the wedding planning process a lot less stressful. She was quick in responding to e-mails and always was a few steps ahead of me. She provided me with information I needed before I even had to ask for it. I found that Emilie covered all of her bases and provided me with multiple suggestions and solutions when I asked her questions. She helped with things outside of her scope of work – like printing an escort card for us when we had a late RSVP the week of the wedding. Early in the process, when I asked her for vendor recommendations she not only provided me with a list but also with contact information and her own experiences with them. On the weekend of our wedding, it became very clear that we could not have done it without Pink Orchids. Emilie became not just our wedding coordinator but our confidant- I also looked to her for advice on whether to have a sweetheart table, where to place favors, etc. She was always pleasant to be around and impressed me, my family and friends with her work ethic and efficiency. She truly went above and beyond. Emilie is terrific and accommodating. It was no surprise that all my vendors already knew her, loved her and enjoyed working with her. If you want everything to go smoothly and feel confident that you day will be perfect- hire Emilie. Our wedding was just a few days ago and in addition to friends and family wishing us well and telling us how lovely everything was -- we have continuously heard how great our planner was. Emilie is incredible. I cannot say enough. She thinks of EVERYTHING and is always 18 steps ahead of the game. Leading up to the wedding, she made sure everything was going to be exactly how my husband and I wanted, but more importantly, on the actual wedding day, we all would have been lost without her! Any time I needed something, she was there- and she must have stitched up my dress for me 5 times... Before we hired Emilie, we were hesitant about hiring any sort of wedding coordinator, but thank GOD we did! There is no way to be prepared for all of the pieces that make up a wedding, unless Emilie is there to prepare you. In addition, she helped my mother-in-law plan the most amazing rehearsal dinner. And according to my mother-in-law, she was absolutely, indisputably, indispensable.
Emilie is great! She understands my needs, culture concerns, and can give me valuable suggestions. We had two meet-ups, and she sends me monthly checklist through the year, which is very helpful. She's prompt on answering questions. She always keep your needs on mind. Before the big day, I have a timeline and a wedding detail form which contains every detail of the wedding. Really, every detail. On the big day, I barely had chances talking to her, but everything is in place and perfect. I highly recommend her. And I feel that I got more than the price I had to pay for.
Pink Orchid Wedding was the best investment I had made for my wedding in Boston. Emilie was more helpful then I could have imagined. The day ran completely smooth with all her efforts - she helped me with everything from beginning to end. No detail was left unseen. The vendor recommendations provided by her were amazing.

Emilie is hands down the best, most organized vendor I worked with for my wedding. I booked Emilie early in the process as I knew I wanted a day of coordinator as I had two locations for the ceremony and reception. I did interview several coordinators (some lower priced) but decided on Emilie because of her organization, professionalism and great reviews. Early on, I was thinking Emilie's prices were reasonable even though originally my friends/family were wondering if I needed it (even though I knew I did as I wanted to enjoy the wedding). As the wedding date grew nearer and nearer, I felt that her prices were extremely valuable and if anything I got a major bargain considering the quality of the services I received. Looking back I feel that it was the best money I spent for my wedding hands down and she was definitely the best vendor I worked with. First of all, she is incredibly timely and responsive and email communication was included in the price. I can't say how many times I emailed her with a small question late at night and I would get an answer in under 10 minutes, that is an amazing turnaround time. She was always there, she always knew what was going on, I never had to refresh her as to my plans and always felt like I was her only customer. She had great vendor suggestions, great logistics suggestions, song choice help for our Korean ceremony and always supportive. In the weeks leading up to the wedding, she kept me on track with the million details that needed to be set. Even though I might have felt stressed getting them to her, I also felt assured that once handed off, I would not have to worry about them on my special day. She was amazing with every interaction. She was my advocate with all my vendors and I didn't have to be. She responded to things that came up with ease and grace and only consulted me if she felt that it was something I needed to know. Even when my JP forgot my readings, Emilie found them online, transcribed them at the ceremony site. She handled my tips, let me know when I wrote out a check to the wrong name, was pinning the boutineers on my groomsmen, family, ran our rehearsal, and basically coordinated every last detail (and I had many details) with absolute perfection. She kept all the vendors on schedule which is not an easy feat. On top of that, she is sincere, makes everything look easy and I felt she was a great friend on the most stressful and most beautiful day of my life. I can't say enough how grateful I am for her services, I really felt like I made it through the day in big part to her amazing coordination skills. She is extremely detailed but very easy to get along with among the vendors and my family and wedding party. Our groomsmen loved her so much they were chanting "Emilie!" by the end of the night! My mom was saying that she didn't understand in the beginning why I wanted a coordinator so bad and toward the wedding, she was saying she was so glad I got one and she was so glad it was Emilie. I think I even heard my mom tell her that I was so relieved to have her on the wedding day. Our guests thought everything was executed beautifully. Emilie, thank you so much, you were such a huge part of the success of our whole day. I have never seen anyone work as hard as you, 12+ hrs the day of our wedding, two sites and a Korean ceremony. We are forever grateful for the large role you played in executing a beautiful wedding. Do not hesitate to book Emilie if you want peace of mind and are a perfectionist, I guarantee it will be the best money you will spend!
Emilie was the best money we spent and in our budget!! A lot of day planners were crazy expensive and Emilie, while pricey was definitely one of the more reasonable ones. She was AMAZING. We got married at The State Room and while they had a coordinator, that person only worked within the walls of the venue. I needed help with day of scheduling, confirmation with vendors, organization, all of the above. Emilie was incredibly professional from our first meeting and extremely thorough. She is very detailed, scheduling everything out in 15 minute increments. She was responsive to every email I sent and kept me on a timeline during the weeks up to the wedding. On the day of, she came to our room, worked with the photographer on setting up pictures, steamed my dress and the bridesmaid dresses, helped the boys get dressed...she was AMAZING. She worked very well with the vendors, confirming timing, etc. She stayed with us all night at The State Room and kept us on track and the night moving smoothly. She was incredible at the end of the night, ensuring each guest got safely on the bus to get back to hotels during a snow storm! We loved Emilie and I would recommend her to anyone and everyone!!
Emily was the best gift to me as the mother of the bride. She is remarkable! She accomplished everything we asked (and more) without being pushy...so unlike those awful TV examples!!!! So easy to work with.
Although we took the day of only plan she was always available in the pre-wedding phase for advice and recommendations...all wonderfully helpful! She responded to all my e-mails quickly and even had telephone conversations if needed.The meeting we had with her prior to the wedding were exceptional...professional, on point, detailed.The day of...she was a God sent! I cannot imagine what it would have been like had we not hired her...not any planner, HER specifically. We love Emily!
We hired Emilie as our DOC after I realized that I wanted to enjoy my wedding day rather than worrying about all the details. Emilie was way more organized than I could have imagined and had every minute of the day scheduled and every aspect perfectly coordinated. We had a few snafus such as inclement weather and the liquor company underestimating the appetites of our guests, and she handled all of them before I even had time to worry about it. There is no way the day would have gone as well or that I would have had as much fun if it were not for Emilie. She even set up some of the decor like the guest book table and our sweet heart table which looked amazing and just how I had envisioned. We booked Emilie at Pink Orchid Weddings about 10 months before our August 20, 2011 wedding date at the Lenox Hotel. Although the venue itself had coordinators provided with our package, we knew we needed an outside person who would always advocate for us. I plan events for a living, so although I felt confident I could plot all the details, we needed a trustworthy person to execute the day-of activities.
As a same-sex couple, we are always a little wary when meeting new vendors. Emilie was so excited right off the bat. She made us feel like we were her only clients -- from the time we booked with her, till the day we got married. For the months leading up to our wedding, she was always available through email. She was extremely responsive, and gave us valuable, honest, and to the point advice.
It’s no exaggeration to say we’re not sure how we could have had the wedding we did without Emilie. Her professionalism, attention to detail (wait till you see her details and timeline documents!), punctuality, and general demeanor assured that our wedding went off smoothly. My wedding was stress-free because of Emilie! She was amazing to work with. I booked her over a year before my wedding for day-of service, but she offered unlimited email communication and I completely took advantage of that. Any question I had, she had an answer to within a matter of 20 minutes! At our final walk-through, she asked questions I would not have thought of and took over calling every single vendor of mine to confirm everyting. Not only did she confirm place and times, but she got the names and cell phone numbers of all our transportation drivers (3 guest shuttles, 2 limos, and a party bus) and spoke with each of them individually! It was SO nice to be able to know everything was in her hands and not have to stress about details - we handed her the marriage license at rehearsal and didn't have to think about it! She called me the morning of just to see how everything was going and ended up stopping by my house where I got ready to say hi! Then she went to my venue to help set up, and met us at the church in time to coordinate the ceremony! She was amazing at the reception - no one knew she was even there - but was on top of EVERYTHING. She found me to tell me my photographers were leaving in 20 minutes and asked if there were any other pictures I wanted.
Definitely the best money we spend. My mom and husband were skeptical at first - but they both have said they couldn't imagine the day going smoothly without Emilie! Our wedding was stress-free because of her (which is unheard of in my family)!
Through out the wedding week, I cannot count how many times I said the words "I love Emilie"... "I love this girl"... "What would I have done without her...". Words cannot express how fortunate my husband and I were to have hired Pink Orchid Weddings (Emilie).
I first met Emilie in 2010 during my good friend Martha's wedding and witnessed first hand the great work Emilie produced. It wasn't until my actual wedding that I REALLY understood how much goes into her job and how good she is at what she does.
While my wedding was in Boston, I planned it from Philadelphia. I consider myself a relatively organized and relaxed bride, but even I managed to fall victim to the stress of planning a wedding. Even with the random curve balls that were thrown at Emilie (last minute vendors being added 3 days before the wedding, trolley companies backing out,...etc) Emilie always kept her cool and helped me prioritize and organize myself.
While professionalism and attentiveness are just a couple of the many positive traits that she will showcase when you work with her, what it all boils down to is that she is simply a truly good person who loves her job. For example, after a long wedding day. Emilie went above and beyond her duties and gave the exhausted bride (me) a lift to the hotel. While it is strange to say I went home with my wedding coordinator, it honestly was not weird at all! While this is by no means part of her job, it just demonstrates how dedicated she is to her job and how thoughtful of a person she is.
I highly recommend Pink Orchid Weddings. I can honestly say that my wedding would not have been nearly as memorable if I did not have Emilie there by my side.

We have nothing but raves for Emilie and her team at Pink Orchid Weddings. We hired Emilie several months prior to the big day, and she was extremely responsive to our email questions about vendors, advice on various aspects of the wedding, etc. leading up to our first official coordination meeting one month before the wedding.
Our wedding was on complicated side. It took place on an island in Boston harbor, requiring the scheduling of various vendor boats to transport everything to the island. Emilie offered to take on this task -- making several calls to each vendor and the island staff to make sure all would run smoothly. We hired a bunch of vendors, some requiring some fairly intricate set-up (placement of signage, lanterns and luminaries across the island, lounge areas in our dance tent, etc.) that Emilie kept careful watch over, often suggesting helpful improvements that took other vendors' ideas from good to great. We also had a bunch of DIY projects (photos to be set up on the dock to welcome guests, picnic blankets with games, a fit pit with s'mores, baskets of flip flips, fruit-infused water dispensers, candy tins, etc.) that needed to be carefully set up and taken down by Emilie and her team at various points during the day. We always felt that Emilie cared at least as much about all the little details as we did.
Emilie is incredibly diligent, detail-oriented, experienced, thoughtful and has a wonderfully calming presence. Hiring Emilie is hands down the best money you will spend to make your wedding day go off without a hitch (and the month leading up to it much less stressful).
After getting engaged and deciding to plan a wedding 3000 miles away from my venue and never having been to a wedding as an adult, i realized that I should probably get some help. I had no idea what really happens during a wedding never mind how to plan a wedding! So I found Pink Orchid through my photographer Shang Chen of Shang Chen Photography who HIGHLY recommended this company.
I looked through the photos on their webpage and was a little worried that my wedding wouldn't be fancy enough for them but after chatting via email I decided to meet up with Emilie while I was in Boston. I immediately liked her and realized quickly that she placed no judgement on my budget (and mostly DIY) wedding. I hired her as our Day of Coordinator. This was by far the best decision I could have made in my wedding planning process.
Emilie sent me a monthly checklist to keep me on track during my year long planning process and was always available via email for any questions I had.
A month or so before the wedding Emilie and I had our first phone consultation (this wasn't an in-person meeting because she's in Boston and I was in CA). We spoke for several hours going over every single detail of my ceremony and reception. After getting all of my details in order she set up this amazing list of all of my vendors and what they were providing me and she personally followed up with all of them. She also provided me with a timeline of events down to the minute! Now, this sounds kind of anal (well, it did to me at first...) but it wasn't. She just had a good grasp on how the day should go and was able to put it all down on paper in an orderly way that I never could have done in a million years.
The morning of my wedding, Emilie arrived bright and early to our hair appointment and checked in with me before she went to our venue. When I got to the venue she already had everything rolling. She filled me in on what had arrived and made sure that I was doing well. I felt so calmed by her presence, knowing that everything was going to be set up exactly as I had wanted (or better). She worked with my venue coordinator to make sure the food and service went well and worked with my other vendors to make sure that they were providing to me what they had promised.
Emilie was there to help fix my flower girl's pomander when it broke. She was there when the lunch hour became a little boring and helped moved the timeline along faster to get the dancing started. It's those little things throughout my day that I didn't want my mom or I to think about or stress out about and Emilie made sure that we didn't stress out about anything.
Emilie helped take down all of the elements that they had put up that morning and had it all packed up in boxes ready to be put in cars. Through set up and take down she was amazing.
I HIGHLY recommend Emilie and Pink Orchid Weddings for anyone getting married who needs a little (or a lot) of help. The service was a little pricy, but my cross-country planning self needed some reassurance that everything was going to work out that day and it did. My wedding was absolutely amazing and I owe a part of that to Emilie.
Fiona is the most amazing, calm, put-together day-of coordinator ever. At every meeting she was so organized, listened carefully and took notes to make sure all the details we cared about were taken care of and helped us think about things we wouldn't have without her prompting. Emilie of Pink Orchid Weddings was fantastic! I didn't think my daughter needed a personal planner or of the day planner. I thought it was silly until I actually experienced it. As mother of the bride I was able to enjoy every moment of my daughters wedding. Emilie took care of everything. She kept us on track before the wedding by advising and giving us information needed. The day of the wedding she was a heaven sent angel. The whole wedding went off without a hitch. From the setup to taking everything down and packing it up. We didn't have to do a thing and nobody bothered us about anything except having a good time. At the end of the day everything was packed and ready to go. Emilie even saw us off into our cars. Pink Orchid Weddings Provided our day of wedding coordination. Starting from our first meeting 9 months before, I knew we were in good hands. Each month we received a monthly checklist to help us keep on track. I'm a very detailed person and also do a little event planning on the side, but I was blown away with the attention to detail and personal attention that Pink Orchid Weddings provided us. My (now) Husband, said, "wow, I've never seen someone (Pink Orchid Weddings, Emilie) so on top of things more than you." That statement couldn't be more true, Emilie stepped in after all the planning we did and made sure that everything was ran smoothly.
Every idea, no matter how big or small it was, Emilie made sure it was done that day! All our vendors were organized and had a detailed time line that walked through every angle of the day. The best part for me, was that Emilie always had the bride and groom interest first, so if something needed to be fix/adjusted or got changed by any vendor or the venue, Emilie had our Backs! She made sure it was done the way we wanted and how the vendor/venue contracts outlined!
She was also so personal! I lost my voice a few days before the wedding and right up to the hours before I was to walking down the aisle, Emilie was prepared with a little med kit, so I was well enough to say my vows!

Fiona (our coordinator) and Emilie (who we were also in contact with during the planning process) are both amazing. They are both incredibly organized, responsive, and just overall very pleasant to work with. Fiona went above and beyond my expectations. They do way more than "day of coordination" -- Fiona handled all the details for us and executed them to perfection, leaving us the freedom to enjoy our wedding day (and the week or two leading up to it). First and foremost, Emilie and Pink Orchid Weddings was worth double what I paid. I am an incredibly organized (some would say anal) person and wanted someone who could test me with every question and have answers for any and every detail related to the wedding. I shopped for wedding coordinators for more than a year before my wedding and couldn't have been more please with finding Emilie.
She was incredibly prompt and exhaustive in returning my incessant emails (literally within hours with full answers). She also did my table numbers and menus last minute as an additive cost (completely minimal) and they were absolutely beautiful and took something completely off my plate the last two weeks. Emilie spent literally 3 hours with me planning two months before (I was moving the month before) and another few hours with me on the day of my walk-thru.
On the day of, I had nothing to even think about. It was partly the amazingness of my bridesmaids, but Emilie coordinated everything perfectly and I literally did nothing except enjoy my day. She was professional, attentive, and completely accommodating.

Hiring Pink Orchid Weddings for day of coordination services was by far one the best decisions I made in planning my wedding. After months of planning, I wanted to be able to relax and enjoy the wedding day without worrying about the execution of some of the wedding details. Emilie went above and beyond anything I could have imagined from a execution perspective. She was able to lay out every detail of the day and helped me with decisions I didn't even know I had to make. We had a number of transportation logistics to work out and Emilie made sure we had a really tight plan and even went to the hotels to alert the staff about trolley pick-ups for the guests.
Every call, email, and meeting ended with me feeling super relaxed about the day of details and even more excited for the big day! Her thoughtful input into all of my wedding questions was greatly appreciated. Her smiling face was with us on wedding day from beginning to the very end. Emilie was so super nice to work with and we LOVED every aspect of our wedding that she put her hands on.

We hired Emilie to help us design our wedding invitations, and after speaking with her and finding out she was still available on our date, we hired her for wedding coordination services too! We had never even considered hiring a coordinator, but had been so overwhelmed with the planning process that we weren't having a chance to enjoy it. Emilie understood our frustration and immediately turned the stress of planning a wedding into a fun time that we could truly enjoy. Emilie provided day of coordination for me at my outdoor wedding in July 2010 and she was amazing! She did a great job organizing everything beforehand - I had one big document I could refer to for timeline, contact lists, things to do, etc. She also sent monthly checklists that were helpful to my planning process, and was very responsive anytime I had a question or an update to the plans. Emilie sent monthly checklists from the time of contract-signing, which were very helpful for me, not being a wedding-y person. Whenever I emailed her with a question, she would get back to me within hours. Emilie was very flexible with meeting times - she drove out to our venue in the evening a few days before the event, in lieu of an actual rehearsal. I felt in very capable hands going into the wedding day. On the day-of she made all the phone calls to vendors to make sure everyone was where they were supposed to be at the correct time; she set up all of my hand-made details, from card-birdcage to centerpieces. At the end of the night she packed everything up and distributed it to the correct people. I really felt that I did not have to do anything, as the bride, on the day-of. She was calm, helpful, positive, knowledgeable, and reassuring. I never felt that I was an imposition, but that I, my now-husband, and our wedding, were worthwhile, and that's the best feeling.
Hiring Emilie as a day of coordinator was by far the best decision I made when planning the wedding. When I originally started planning the wedding, I felt like a day of coordinator was unnecessary. However, as I began to realize what actually would need to be done the day of the wedding, I realized there was no way I would be able to get that accomplished and still enjoy my day without being stressed. So I originally hired Emilie thinking that she would just help set up all the little details that I had planned.
It turned out that Emilie had a much more prominent role in the wedding planning. She really went above and beyond. Everything Emilie does is done to perfection, and I am a harsh critic. I really don’t know what I would have done without her. She was worth every dime and more. I feel like the phrase “day of coordinator” is almost misleading. I feel like she became more of a “month of coordinator”. She is incredibly detail oriented and has insanely good communication skills. After meeting with her, I felt totally assured that the wedding day would go smoothly, and it really did. She thought of all kinds of things that I would have overlooked. Emilie is an extremely sweet person, but she was able to be assertive with vendors and make sure that things turned out correctly. My bridesmaids and a few of my other vendors all remarked on how great she was. I could go on and on.
Emilie and Fiona at Pink Orchid Weddings did an incredible job as DOCs for my June wedding this year. My wedding was a logistical nightmare with a huge bridal party, many locations, a million vendors and multiple ceremonies and Pink Orchid Weddings coordinated everything flawlessly. A few months before our September 2009 wedding, we hired Fiona and Emilie as our Day of Coordinators (DOC). Just to give people an idea, we had an outside wedding with approximately 240 guests. As some may agree, outside weddings can be A LOT of work and may require more of a coordination effort as everything is being brought onsite by various vendors. My husband was a little skeptical about needing a DOC in the beginning but as we talked through all the wedding details with Fiona and Emilie, we quickly realized how crucial it was to have a DOC.
Overall Pink Orchids did a fantastic job! They were very organized, professional and responsive. I was especially impressed with their attention to detail. Their price was reasonable (as there were 3 of them working on the day of) and considering everything they did for us in terms of setup alone, they were well worth the money! We hired Emilie and Fiona of Pink Orchid Weddings as our Day of Coordinators for our 2009 Boston wedding. They are called "Day of Coordinators" but they really are there for you when ever you need them. Every time I had questions or needed advice, an email to them would result in a quick email back. They were very responsive and accommodating to my needs. I had a 4hr+ meeting with them one night because I was so behind. During that night they were able to create a detailed time line, work out vendor issues, out line setup guidelines and details that I would never have thought of. I left the meeting at midnight and the next day bright and early in my inbox I had a neatly put together wedding packet from them.
They are VERY detailed oriented and make it their priority to do exactly what you want. Both the ceremony and reception were setup exactly as I had imagined it. They were there throughout the night and quick to respond to anything. Most importantly, they were able to do all this without being obtrusive. This really gave me a peace of mind and it allowed me to go and enjoy my wedding.

We had an outdoor ceremony and reception for 150 in Newburyport: we were in desperate need of a day-of coordinator! While it wasn't in our budget, we got really lucky when I entered a contest on Weddingbee and won the services of Pink ORchid. From the very beginning Fiona and Emilie were responsive, understanding, and super-organized. Out of our first meeting they created a mondo vendor contact list, checklist and timeline that helped me keep all those little details and changes together in one spot. They were also very good at establishing who was doing what on that day. They also called all my vendors and doublechecked everything the week before, freeing me up to finish all my crazy last minute DIY projects.
On my wedding day i texted them at 7:00 a.m., and got a reassuring response 15 minutes later. The rest of the day I only saw them when I needed them which was hardly at all! They were on top of every single detail, from the ceremony space to the cocktail/game space to the unusual reception space. I was completely relaxed, and this was due in no small part to the fact that I knew my wedding was in Fiona and Emilie's capable hands. My guests and other vendors commented to me on how professional and friendly they were, too.
