Plusko's Fine Pastries

We went for a cake tasting here last weekend. The cake was very good...the pineapple filling with white cake was our'e favorite, the champagne cake a close second. They are very affordable and Leann was great...she answered allmy questions, and had suggestions about the cake design, letting us know if something may not work. Pluskos is definatly in the running...

Once we tried Plusko's it was nearly impossible to consider anyone else. First of all, they were the friendliest and most helpful of all cake vendors we spoke with. Second, their cakes are delicious. Third, their prices can't be beaten. We got a four-tiered square cake that serves over 200 people for $525 including delivery/set-up. The price was so good that we opted for a four-tier cake (even though guest-wise we only needed three) to add the desired height. Plusko's also offers to recreate a top tier for you on your 1st anninversary for free so no one has to eat frost-bitten, year-old cake. One con with Plusko's for some is that they don't do fondant, so their design choices are limited. For us this worked out perfectly because my husband hates the tatse of fondant, and because we wanted a simple cake anyway. Our only regret was that we were so busy during the reception that we didn't get to eat enough of this delicious cake!

I went to Plusko's because of it's reviews. But all I have to say is horrible Customer Service. We wasn't greeted and was just given a stack of photo books to look at. Then they just gave us a price sheet and that was it. No tasting No cake Nothing. They just left us sitting there while they help other people. We had a ton of questions but they just didn't have the time nor the care to help us. So we left. Never again. If they treat you poorly now image when you actually pay. Nope, I'll keep looking.

We visited very recently. The salesgirl was somewhat helpful, but seemed distracted/disinterested, though they were not busy at all. She prepared 3 cake combinations (of our choosing, free of charge) for us to try. While she was off doing this, she gave us 2 small photo books to look through, and a price list (very reasonable, $250ish for a cake to feed 90-125).

The cake itself was just okay, kind of dry--I've had better from a box. The custard fillings were good, but nothing to write home about. They have TWO (only two) frosting choices: whipped cream and buttercream. This means your cake must be WHITE. This was the dealbreaker for us--we want a chocolate/brown or orange frosted cake.

It's a good option if you're on a very tight budget and want an all-white cake, but otherwise I'd say don't bother.

We were so pleased with the wedding cake we purchased at Plusko's. If you're looking for an affordable wedding cake without having to sacrifice taste or presentation, this is the place to go. There were so many delicious cakes at the tasting, but we decided to go with the champagne cake. I'm not big on sweets, but this was delicious. So many of our guests at the wedding went out of their way to compliment us on how great the cake was. They were even talking about it after the wedding. I highly recommend Plusko's.

My fiance and I visited Plusko's Bakery last weekend, and my God, it was the best cake I had ever tasted! I called to make an appointment and was told that there was no appointment necessary.

Well this scared me a little bit because we had been at another location that was AWFUL so I didn't want to go down the disappointing road again.

But they didn't disappoint. They gave us samples (Free, by the way) and gave us plenty of time to go through their books.

The cake was the BEST we had tasted, and the prices are incredible. We had been somewhere else that wanted to charge us well over $500 for a cake to feed 125 people. Plesko's quoted us $258. And there cake is much better.

So, I highly recommend them. They've been around 50 years, and they seem to know how to take care of their customers...more than I can say for other places.
