Their building is so quaint and inviting. The staff were fantastic. Each time I visited, I was made to feel so special and every consultant and seamstress I worked with was always warm and helpful.

They have a great selection of dresses - for all budgets. When my mother and I told our consultant our budget, she honored it completely, but also gave me lower price options as well. She was looking for dresses that I would like, and wasn't concerned with finding a large price tag to sell me. I ended up buying a dress that was much lower than I expected, and I really appreciate the focus on the customer, not the sale.

Their jewelry, shoes and cocktail dress selections are also great.

This boutique should not be skipped for brides searching for a more personalized, but affordable dress shopping...

I really liked my consultant, Vangie. They had a great selection of dresses and many within my budget of less than $1000. I will say the service was better before I purchased the dress. I wasn't crazy about the alterations department and customer service once they have your business. But overall I loved my dress and would recommend this shop.

Elaine at Poffie Girls was without a doubt the best consult we had during the search for my dress. She was pleasant, listened to what I was looking for, made sure it was what I wanted and not what others were steering me towards. And at the end of the day I decided to drive the extra miles to Poffie Girls to purchase my dress versus a closer shop. And it was all due to Elaine! I couldn't have purchased a dress from anyone other than her - she definitely provided us with the best service! I love my dress and it was perfect on my wedding day! I would suggest anyone searching for the perfect dress to give Poffie Girls a try, even if you don't find your dress there you'll at least be greeted with quality service!

Great hidden shop. My best friend and I tried this shop on a whim. I ended up buying my dress the same day. You get a "Say yes to the dress" feel without having to go to Atlanta or New York. I have already recommended this shop to numerous friends.

I worked with Elaine and it was a wonderful experience!! I bought the second dress I tried on and I am so in love with it!! I got such a great deal on my beautiful dress!

I could not imagine finding my wedding dress anywhere else. The staff at Poffie Girls is simply great. I found my dress there and they did my alterations as well. The alterations department did a fabulous job on my dress. Then... less than a week before my wedding, I broke my foot. I was crushed! My dress was hemmed 4" longer because of my 4" heels. I called Tuesday morning in tears and they had me come down and get the dress fixed. The entire staff was there for me and they did everything to calm me. Less than 2 days later, my dress was the perfect length! I highly doubt I would have gotten such personalized attention from anywhere else. Thanks Poffie Girls....you seriously made our wedding day wonderful!

This store carried every designer a liked, and actually listened when I told them the style of dress that I wanted to try on rather than pushing something else on me, like I've seen done to several of my friends.

I went here looking for a bridesmaid gown. I live in Charlotte so I called before I went to make sure they have plus sized bridesmaid gowns as my maid of honor is plus sized. I was told they do and they have size extenders to try on gowns. No appointment needed to try on bridesmaid gowns. So we drive all the way there only to find the woman were very snooty and rude and barely wanted to help us. And it also turns out they don't have any plus size bridesmaid gowns they can only order them.
Then, on the way out I saw a cute pair of shoes on the wall behind the main desk. I was standing there talking to my bridesmaid about how nice they were and I wanted to see them. Well the lady at the computer at the main desk literally ignored me for a long time before looking up to even aknowledge us standing there. She knew I wanted to see the shoes because she (without prompting) asked which shoe I wanted to see.

I would never, ever recommend this store to anyone. The sales women are extremly dismissive and stuck up. I didn't like my experience here...at all! I will be looking elsewhere for a bridesmaid gown.

I rented an old Bentley from Poffie Girls as a surprise to my groom. It was the perfect touch at the end of our day. The ride was comfortable and relaxing and the driver was very friendly and professional.

The ladies of Poffie Girls made finding my wedding dress a wonderful experience. They listened to what I wanted and helped me find the perfect dress. Each visit to Poffie Girls was fun and filled with laughter. The staff obviously loves what they do. I was a bit disappointed with the alterations on my dress because one of the straps wasn't taken up enough so it was loose, but overall I was thrilled with my experience.

The only place I would recommend for a dress! I live in Charlotte and was getting married in Charleston, I wanted a simple dress... went to several places in Charlotte, nobody would listen to me.. kept bringing me BIG dresses. I wanted a long bridesmaid style dress in white (for a destination). I made an appointment with Maraya and she worked with me, patiently and with so much energy for 3 hours! I had my MOH join me to see the dress and order the bridesmaid dresses. Everything arrived in less than the quoted time! I had 4 girls in the wedding and their dresses fit like a glove on all of them!!! They took the time to even add straps to a couple so that they would be more comfortable. On Wednesday, the day before heading down to Charleston, my MOH tried on her dress and it was too big - she took it to Poffie Girls and they took it up within the hour on the same day! I highly recommend Poffie Girls! They were unbelievable! Service means so much!!!

I love the ambiance at Poffie Girls and the service is great. You never ever feel rushed and even when it is busy... it is never crazy or uncomfortably so (at least in the bridal department). I had such a great experience shopping for my dress here and playing with different accessories to find the look I was going for. The women at Poffie Girls are the farthest thing from pretentious (which is not always the case in the world of wedding dress shopping) and have no problem trying to help you stay within budget. They know their selection and prices very well and must do some mental notes as they steer you around the store so you don't fall in love with a dress out of budget (you might find it on your own anyway, but at least they aren't pushing you into it!). I really appreciated the gentle honesty and opinions offered when I asked for them as I came down to decision time. My experience with the alterations was incredible. I never even really experienced sticker shock when I found out the price because I had been so impressed with the care and thoroughness taken with my alterations. I'm 5'1 and knew that work was going to need to be done... my second fitting showed we still needed to take more off the hem and the seamstress amazed me as she battled with pins and fabric as she tried to keep the original shape of the dress despite the massive amount of fabric that was being removed. She pulled it off beautifully and by the end of it... I just wanted to hug her for not only her hard work but what a joy she was to talk to throughout the process. A very big thanks to the women here and all their help... they are highly recommended!!

I have to say that I loved my dress from Poffie Girls! My first visit was fun and the staff was very helpful. They were very concious of what i wanted to spend and were sure to stay in that range. I went back a few times to try on my dress and every time the staff was more than willing to give me a spot to try it on and accessorize. During the alterations process I started to feel a little less "special". It seems like they had gotten my business and no longer needed to impress me. It was disappointing to feel this way after such a fun start. The attitudes did alter my perception of Poffie Girls, but overall it was a good experience"

the lady who helped my daughter pick out her prom dress was extremely helpful and nice, although I don't remember her name. But i do remember Vicky who was extremely snooty and rude. She made us not want to shop there anymore. Although, we love the dresses, we will never shop at Poffie Girls in Gastonia again.

I worked with Sarah at Poffie Girls and she was so incredibly helpful. Immediately, when I walked in she took the time to sit down with me to discuss what vision I had of my dress. Based on what I told her, she pulled exactly the styles that I wanted within my price range. She was never pushy, and she was always able to offer her expertise. She was even hospitable to my mother who came along with me by pulling up a chair for her and getting her comfortable. Sarah stayed in the dressing room with me to help me into the elaborate gowns and showed me different ways they could be worn. Immediately after, I went to another bridal store, just to compare. They never asked me questions on what I wanted. They didn't bother to help me into my dresses. They just showed me into a fitting room and left. They were not helpful at all, and the sales women only came flocking to me after I seemed interested in buying a dress. I'll be ordering from Poffie Girls though. They deserve my business because they actually care about their brides.

I purchased my wedding gown from Poffie Girls after going to several other local Charlotte vendors first. This was the first place where I didn't feel judged for wanting to spend less than $1000 on a wedding gown. When you have to pay for these things yourself, you need to watch your budget!! The shop is in an adorable house, and the ladies there took great care of me! My mom, sister, and I were about to go into the back and look through the racks of dresses alongside the lady assisting, and we tried on a BUNCH of gowns. I had the dream 'bride' moment when I put on my Mori Lee gown and just fell in love. We had a great experience overall at Poffie Girls. They give you one free pressing with your gown purchase, and are very flexible with the dates and making sure they provide great service.

Poffie Girls made finding my dress the easiest thing about my wedding. I had a very knowledgeable bridal consultant who found my perfect dress almost immediately. The beautiful venue just made the occasion more special... as did the price!

While the woman that worked with me is absolutely fantastic (Sara), I cannot say much for some of the others. Sara deserves 5 stars across the board, but I cannot rate the business that high due to several things. First of all, many of the employees have an extremely snooty attitude and are rude. Second of all, there was the problem with the bridesmaid's dresses. After telling me the dresses were ordered in plenty of time and that no rush order was possible on the particular brand, they called me back over a month later to tell me they would not be there in time and that I must pay $100 to add a rush to the order. I told them that would not be possible and so they canceled my order! I went with my friend to the store the next day to speak to the owner in person, and she placed the order back on and told me she thought everything would be fine, but they couldn't guarantee anything. The dresses ended up getting here in time, but the owner did not even apologize or admit any wrong in the employees that canceled my order. We were going to get all of the tuxes from them too, but we ended up going to Bedazzled because of the rude behavior. On the upside, the alterations lady (I think her name was Mary but I can't remember) did an excellent job and I was very pleased. They were not too expensive either. I loved my gown, but all gowns in that store are pricey. Just be careful if you go here!

I had the perfect wedding from the beginning to the end. The beginning was Poffie Girls. I have referred many of my friends to Poffie Girls over the years, and when it was my turn, I knew exactly where to start. I love Poffie Girls. First, Poffie Girls has a semi-closed inventory, which means when you walk in the store you are not overwhelmed by dresses. They have plenty of dresses on their showroom floor to look through, but the bulk of their dresses are in their storeroom. From the second you walk into Poffie Girls, you know it is going to be a great experience because you are assigned a consultant who is with you from beginning to end. Sara was my consultant and she was fabulous. Second, your consultant starts by asking you what you want out of a wedding dress and then how much you want to spend. One of the worst things is falling in love with a dress that you cannot afford. You see it happen all the time on "Say Yes to the Dress." The consultant does not pull any dresses you cannot afford. She will start you out with about 5 dresses and will keep trying to you find the right one. The dress I wore was a dress that I would have never picked out for myself, but that is the beauty of working with an experience consultant, she knows what looks good . . . and she made me look amazing! Third, your consultant will help you with everything else . . . from bridesmaid dresses to tuxedos to flower girl dresses to accessories! Poffie Girls can do it all!

I bought my wedding dress from Poffie Girls for my wedding this past May. Poffie Girls made me feel like a princess when I was there. I would recommend it to anyone and will take my engaged friends there to have the full experience of wedding gown shopping. The lights were dimmed as I walked out of the dressing room with romantic music playing and lights. It was so much fun! My dress was perfect and on sale, I was wayyyy under budget.

I loved the consultant I was put with. However, i made several trips back after the purchase of my dress and no one remembered my name. They were impersonal and, on several accounts, rude. They have great selections but the staff is not so nice.

I bought my wedding dress from Poffie Girls. My dress was perfect AND it was on sale for more than half off the original price! I am from out of town and Poffie Girls was very flexible on scheduling my alteration appointments for times when I would be in the area. The only problem I encountered was in the alternations area. I felt that my dress could have been a little shorter and the bussel attachments made stronger. I ended up having to sling my train over my arm for the majority of the reception because the buttons and strings didn't hold my bussel. Oh well. It was still the perfect day.

Poffie Girls was like a dream come true for me. I felt like a princess when I was there and all of the bridal consultants (especially Sara) were extremely polite and helpful. I would definitely recommend this dress boutique to brides and grooms. They also have a tux shop.

I had a great experience finding my dress & veil at Poffie Girls. All of the consultants were very helpful & made me feel like a queen. The alterations department was pretty good, but I do feel like my hem should have been a little shorter. If I didn't walk carefully, I would trip over the front of my dress.

My only complaint was that there never seemed to be enough people working to help all the customers that were there shopping. Their selection was great and had dresses in just about every price range.

I cannot say enough about Poffie Girls. My bridal consultant, Sarah, listened to what I wanted and delivered. She stayed within my budget and I ended up buying the second dress I tried on all because she listened to me. She did not try to push dresses on my that were outside my price range and even called to follow up right before my wedding to make sure everything was acceptable. I was highly impressed with my experience and can't say enough.

We enjoyed utilizing one vendor for the wedding party...less chaos and everyone knew what was going on. It was great and would recommend Poffie Girls to anyone getting married in the Charlotte area.

We booked the Shadow Rolls Royce for our wedding day transportation. I loved, loved, loved this car!!!! It was immaculate and beautiful, perfect for my grand entrance! The drive was very curious, timely and he knew exactly where he was going. The people at Poffie Girls were very easy to work with in booking the car and the prices were fair. I couldn't be happier with the level of service I received from this vendor!

I've been going to Poffie Girls since Junior Prom! The day I went in to look at wedding dresses, I only called 30 minutes ahead, and they still squeezed me in with a consultant. She was great. I told her what I was looking for and my favorite designers, and she picked out some beautiful dresses for me to try on. I was by myself, so she helped me in and out of the dresses, gave me feedback, pinned me, etc. I got excellent one-on-one attention. Every visit since then has been great. They pressed my dress for me, even though I was having alterations done elsewhere. The women there all take a great deal of pride in their work, and it shows. I recommend them to all of my friends.

At first glance, Poffie Girls looks like every girl's dream shop for bridal wear. We found the bridesmaid's dresses with no problem but ordering and alterations were a nightmare. We knew the associate was ordering all of the dresses too large and expressed our concern over and over. We trusted the associate and went along with the orders as they suggested. When the dresses came in, of course, all of my girls were swimming in a sea of material. The alteration's expense was enormous. On top of that, the lady handling the alterations did not listen to anything. I caution anyone who is considering this shop to reconsider the time and frustration it will cause AFTER the sale.

My bridal consultant, Karen, worked with me on the first day I visited the store (on a whim, I didn't have an appointment). She was awesome, and though they were busy, she made time to help me try on 3 different dresses - one of them, a Maggie Sottero, fit almost perfectly and I knew it was "the dress" as soon as I saw it in the full length mirror. Karen held the dress overnight, so that I could have my maid of honor go back with me the next day to try it on again (when we had an appointment and more time, and could speak with the seamstress about alterations). Karen was a pleasure to work with, and I ended up getting my shoes, the dress, alterations, and my veil all for about $800-900 total.

I highly recommend the shop - they carry a variety of designer dresses at affordable prices, and their entire staff is knowledgeable and helpful, and very professional.

Elaine helped me find the perfect dress for me. She was very patient and listened to what I was looking for. I would have given a "5" rating, but my experience with their alterations department wasn't as smooth. The alterations lady is very temperamental - luckily the owner calmed her down and my dress fit great! Overall I was happy with my experience there and appreciated the selection that they had. I didn't feel like their dresses were over priced, and they offered deals if you purchased bridesmaid's dresses and tuxes there as well. They hold dresses and steam them for you as well.

I bought my wedding dress at Poffie Girls, and I had a great experience while trying on dresses. They have a great selection. The only problems I had were during alterations. They had a hard time at first figuring out how to do the bustle I wanted, but they were will to continue working on it until they got it right. I didn't spend much on alterations, and they did a lot - the bustle, making the dress two sizes smaller, and re-doing much of the beading. Overall, I was happy with my experience.

I bought my wedding dress from Poffie Girls. I bought a Maggie Sottero gown off the rack. When I was shopping for my gown, I was all about the $99 rack. I was not interested in spending hundreds of dollars on a dress I'd wear once. Alas, when I tried on the Maggie Sottero dress that noble and frugal goal went out the window. The dress was marked down from its original $1200 to about $600, so it was a good "sale" but still a lot of money. My sister bought my veil there as well. The alterations were a complete rip off, but they were done well. At the end of the day, I had a very unique wedding gown that I got oodles of compliments on (altho I guess every bride does) and I felt great in my dress. Their selection was different from many of the other shops, which was nice. Also, I was late for my first appointment (I was driving in from out of town) and the ladies on staff were still pretty accommodating. You do hear them trash talk other customers while your there, but just don't go without an appointment and you should be fine.

Best value. they have a lot of the same dresses as other shops but for a few hundred cheaper. Good service and great selection.

They were very difficult to get an appt with. The sales woman that helped me was very helpful but also very gruff. When I finally decided on the dress they ordered it and they decided which length would be correct. When the dress finally came in it was too short. I was devastated. They tried to blame me for not having had my shoes when we ordered my dress, despite the fact that I had asked about this when they measured me for the length. When they were measuring the length they told me I could just pick shoes once the dress arrived. They tailored the dress so that it was the correct length but I had a very difficult time finding shoes because I was very limited in heel length. The dress was gorgeous but I was very perplexed and had many tearful nights over the fact that they ordered the dress too short.

I purchased my dress from their store when there was a visiting designer trunk show so it was discounted 15%. They were very accommodating and I met with them several times before finding "the dress". The shop is a cozy large house in Gastonia right outside of Charlotte. The alterations were a bit pricy but I think that is the norm. Overall, highly recommended!

Exceptional customer service. They absolutely produced what they said they were going to do & my custom couture gown & hand embroidered veil came perfect & right on time! The ladies at Poffie Girls were great to work with.

The ladies at Poffie Girls were so kind and did fabulous work! I purchased my Watters dress and my hand-beaded monogrammed floor-length veil (pretty much my favorite thing ever!!) and blusher at their store. The service when picking out my gown was great and it arrived rather quickly once it was ordered. The seamstresses were amazing at my alterations as well. I would recommend Poffie Girls to anyone in the Gastonia/Charlotte NC area!

I got my wedding dress, veil, bridesmaids dresses and my mom's dress at Poffie Girls. The staff is so helpful and they have everything from off-rack designs to expensive gowns.

I visited Poffie Girls after seeing the dress I absolutely had to have online, and found them as a vendor. It was completely random, but I like to think it was fate! The sales team was exceptional, and they even indulged me as I tried on 20 dresses, just to make sure that the one I went there for was the one (which it was). I recieved a hand-written thank you note after we purchased the dress, a reminder to have my dress steamed, and even a follow-up call after the ceremony to wish me well. The setting is very relaxing and they really work with the bride to make sure she gets the dress that not only fits her style, but also her budget.

However, I would recommend not using their seamstress. I found her very unpleasant and chose to go elsewhere to have my final fittings. But I wouldn't let her sour personality sour my entire experience. The rest of the staff is excpetional.

I found my dress while shopping with family in Utah, but live in Gastonia. Poffie Girls was the only vendor that carried Maggie Sotero dresses and they were great to work with on the price. The alterations were great too but very minimal. I just felt like I was not treated very nicely sometimes and that they had other important people to attend to when I was there. I would recommend them to anyone bc they have a great selection but it is hit or miss on the customer service end of it all.

My dress was beautiful, but there was a problem with my alterations. I got something I really didn't want. At the end of the day it didn't matter. The dress was reasonalby priced, but the alternations were crazy! I worked with some people I really liked and others that I didn't like at all... Overall I would recommend the company.

I visited Poffie Girls in my early shopping for a dress. I then visited 6 other stores. I can honestly say that the customer service at Poffie’s is second to none.

They are friendly, knowledgeable, offer a large selection, competitive prices, and a great selection of bridesmaid dresses and MOB dresses. They also have a large array of accessories for sale. They help you find a dress within your budget and don’t try to pressure you into something you can’t afford. I highly recommend a lady their named Elaine. She has been in the business a long time and was fun, honest, accommodating, and had a wealth of knowledge on wedding attire. Make your visit productive by making an appointment ahead of time and take your mom or another person with you. I also ordered my invitations and thank you cards from Poffie’s. They offer a discount if you purchase your dress there.

They have many books for you to browse through and an excellent staff to guide you through the process. They send you a proof before the final printing. They arrived on the date promised and were beautiful. Their prices were comparable to other invitation providers.

Had a lot to choose from for Gowns as well as Mothers dresses and bridesmaids dresses. Also hade shoes and accessories. The ladies there were friendy and helpful!!!

KAREN helped me find the perfect dress!! She looked through all my magazine photos with me and found such a unique dress! It did take as long as they promised for the dress to arrive because I am short and the dress had to be custom made. So, if you have an unusual body type... anywhere you go... go as soon as possible.

I loved my dress and actually found several there that I really loved. The overall experience was great but we had one major glitch. They ordered my dress a size smaller than what we had discussed at the fitting. When it came in, major alterations were needed and because of the material, they were very noticable. The final fit was not perfect as a result. I still loved the dress but wish it had fit better. It also took them almost a month longer than estimated to get the dress in the store. We had to push back the portrait dates as a result. They have great dresses but need to work on their service.

What a great place to find my dress! They showed me at least 20 dresses! Even though I found "the dress" after trying 3 on, they wanted to make sure that I found the perfect dress. I was able to dress my entire wedding party there and my mom found her dress. When my dress came in with a hole, they fixed it right away so I didn't have to worry about anything. Wonderful service and I could not have felt prettier on my day!

I bought my wedding gown from Poffie Girls on a referral from a co-worker. I was on a very tight deadline and actually ended up wearing a dress that was on one of their manequins. With a few slight alterations it was a perfect fit. I will say the atlerations were a little pricey but I think that's pretty much the norm for wedding dresses. I also bought my shoes and earrings here. I felt like a princess on my wedding day! Another thing you should know is that they are EXTREMELY busy on the weekends so be prepared to wait a bit. It really is worth the wait and the people that work there are very kind and really take their time in helping you find "the" dress.

I would definitely recommend Poffie Girls to anyone looking for their dream wedding gown. This was by far the best bridal shop that I visited. The sales people were very helpful and not pretentious. They have all types of dresses. The shop is very comfortable and they allowed me to try on as many dresses as I wanted. Many stores try to limit the number of dresses that you try on. Also, when I found "the one", they allowed to take pictures with my own camera and gave me the designer and name of the dress. A lot of stores won't do this because they fear that you will try to find the dress online for a cheaper price. Although it was a little bit of a drive from Charlotte, NC, it was definitely worth it.

After assessing my needs the assistant brought numerous dresses for me to try on. I walked out of there with a huge smile on my face.

The service there was so good that we decided to go back there and purchase a dress for my mom.
