Reviews for Porter Valley Country Club

Porter Valley was a great venue! They only have one event at a time so I knew everyone there and didn't have to worry about crashers. I was disappointed by the fact that I thought I would have the lights lit up in the fountain and trees but they were turned off and we had a plastic screen blocking us from the view. Other than that though we got our pictures taken before the screen went up which turned out beautiful.

We just got married here a few weeks ago and honestly, I am blown away by the level of customer service and quality of value and professionalism by the venue. From the planning of the day guided meticulously by Julie P and Ana Vick and their team nothing was ever too much trouble for them. When the day arrived we felt as though all we had to do was turn up knowing, and really knowing, that everything was in very safe hands. The room was plenty of space and a wonderful tall mirror to get ready for my hubby and the reception room was exactly what we pictured in our minds.
I will say I was a BUNDLE of nerves (normal pre-wedding jitters) but I felt SAFE that there had been so much planning and that the venue will get it right! We made requests up until the day before and I can honestly** say the all requests were met.
Since the wedding I have had many compliments from our guests about how brilliant the PVCC staff were and how gorgeous the venue is. The Banquet Captain Chris and his team have great experience for these occasions and yet managed to make the two of us feel as though they were only doing it once and that was for us. The dancing part of our reception was such a hit (somehow our guests ended up battling with my silly husband) and Chris and a few of the staff guys watched the whole thing and enjoyed all the dancing and were so approachable by our guests. The staff even went as far as interacting with our guests (our guests liked them so much)without a 2nd thought.
Food: The hubby and I have received quite a few compliments of the food (lemon caper chicken, eggplant parmesan, crisp vinaigrette salad, and warm dinner rolls). I hardly ate the day of our wedding however I tried one of the coconut chicken appetizers and it was delicious, I recommend that if possible. And I also recommend upgrading to the chocolate fountain if possible....MAJOR HIT at the wedding.
By the way: *Rehearsal* We had members of our wedding party that had not been in a wedding prior to ours which naturally led us to spending a few extra moments practicing and not once did we feel rushed! In fact, there were patio tables and lemon water set-up for us to cool off from the hot day!
The staff at PVCC do everything they can to be welcoming and as helpful as possible. The detail they go to make everything that bit more special. I am not sure if Julie or Ana or Chris can read this but if you can... WE LOVE YOU!!! AND APPRECIATE EVERYTHING, OUR DAY COULD NOT BE AS MEMORABLE WITHOUT YOUR LEVEL OF SERVICE!!! Thank you

Julie and Katie are the best!!! The best!!! Julie was out on vacation during the rehearsal, but Katie took over and it was seamless. At the wedding reception, my brother passed out (from being hungry and tired) and Julie was right there with a plate of food to get him back on his feet. She also took me aside and gave me some bread and butter before the ceremony so I wouldn't pass out! She is unbelievably thoughtful, and made the day so, so memorable. I will never, ever forget how wonderful she is and how amazing her staff is. Maria, the captain for the evening, carried a pair of my socks in her pocket as she saw them on the floor, and knew I was going to wear them later with my tennis shoes. She came over to me and said, "let me know when you need them!" Can you believe that?!I mean, really...Porter Valley country club really knows how to throw weddings!!!

Porter Valley was great for my wedding reception. We held our ceremony at a church. Personally I wouldn't recommend Porter Valley for the ceremony because like the other review said, it's oddly shaped. Porter Valley is very flexible and willing to work with budgets. The banquet room is beautiful and the food is great! My package included food, booze, set-up, linens, DJ, centerpieces, cake, appetizers and hand poured wine/champagne. Everything at the reception was perfect.

We held our wedding reception here. The best part about Porter Valley was their beautiful banquet room and vendor list. I was able to purchase a package deal with them that included food, drinks, DJ, cake, centerpieces and set up. Julie and Katie, the event coordinators, were extremely helpful and always quick to respond. They are very flexible with the packages, for instance, I decided to make my own centerpieces and received a credit from Porter Valley to go towards something else. I would definitely recommend them to friends and family.

We just love this location, lots of trees and open fields, lake, etc.
The food was very good and the wedding was really fun.

We loved our wedding!! Porter Valley is a beautiful place and all our guest enjoyed every minute. Julie was exceptional with what she did for us. Many many thanks go out to her!! The food was exceptional. Many people gave us compliments on it. And the decor was very elegant. Only a couple of things that I would have liked is that the water fountain outside would have been turned on earlier for our daylight pictures. It wasn't turned on until later on when it was already getting dark. Also...there was one kids table in the room that was served champaine instead of cider, but I believe that to be an honest mistake...and it was taken care of right away. No intoxicated little kids running around. haha! Other than that.... Porter Valley was amazing and I would highly recommend it to everyone!!

Very friendly staff, good food, great view!

My fiance and I went to look at Porter Valley - the location just wasn't quite what we want. The reception room is pretty, and they'll do anything you want.
We looked at having an outdoor wedding, and the ceremony site was okay. It's a little oddly shaped, but workable. We decided to go with another venue instead.
But they seem nice. In terms of expense, they have packages ranging from all inclusive (but a little limited) to rather pricey. But if you're on a tight budget, you should still be able to work within something decent.
Hope this helps! :D

Overall I greatly enjoyed our wedding. My only complaint is that they packed that particular day with 3 weddings (!!) and when the one before ours ran late, they didn't end it so that we could get our vendors in to set up. We did end up complaining to the Wedding planner and she made sure everyone got out of the venue asap but we still weren't able to spend as much time with the vendors as I'd have liked to in order to ensure that everything was set up properly.

The service was excellent and the venue onsite coordinator was very flexible and helpful.
Great People, Great Place, Great Service! What more do you need??
