We gave them a picture of the wedding cake we wanted and we got exactly what we were asking for.Great service and very reasonable prices!! And the cake tasted delicious.

Porto's Bakery is amazing. There's a reason there are lines out the door every weekend. The cake was beautiful. I went with a three tier white cake with smoothing surface and beaded piping around the edge of each tier and I added fresh flowers. This cake, first of all, was an amazing price. The best price of all the bakeries I visited, but that's not why I chose Porto's. We chose Porto's based on their flavors and moistness of the cake. It was sooooo delicious. I honestly can't wait to eat my top tier at my 1 year anniversary.

I came here for a cake tasting for my wedding. The appointment was easily made online and I was told that Saturday was a great day to come since I can try more flavors. Since my cake is part of a hotel package (Hilton Woodland Hills), the selection is quite small and several cakes which have fondant ribbons or fresh flowers are extra. Since I am a budget bride of course I did not select one of these cakes, but one which was a bit old fashion but pretty overall. We got a small slice of 6 flavors and opted for the chocolate cake. The person who helped us, Gloria, was great, nice, and very professional.After the tasting we went to get some baked goods and cakes to take home. The lines were quite long but the place is well run and there are tons of people taking orders. Everyone there is great and professional. One can see why this place is so popular. Its also quite inexpensive and their desserts are just beautiful!

The cake tasted great, it looked simple and elegant. Just what we wanted. We've had pastries and food here before, we go back often.

Absolutely impressed with Portos Bakery for wedding cakes. Our first appointment went very smoothly and professionally. We were offered coffee and cake tastings and were able to look through book decor options and speak with the cake designer about what we wanted. We went back several times to add things and change colors and each time were treated very professionally and offered cake/coffee/chairs and personal customized service. Our cake was perfect, exactly the color swabs that we brought in and completed with personal decor pieces that we had specified with Portos. They even helped us glue our glass cake toppers to Styrofoam free of charge so that they wouldn't break. Cake was delivered on time and in perfect condition. Definitely recommend for people who like light, airy cakes with perfectly sugared frostings and intricate designs.

When I told friends we got our cake at Porto's they were very happy. This place has an impeccable reputation in LA for a reason. Our cake was beautiful, tasty and delivered on time although the bakery and venue were two hours apart. The staff was a delight to work with when choosing cakes and flavors always willing to go the extra mile, and even provided our challah.

I bought a regular Milk n' berries for our wedding cake. It was beautiful, delicious, and my coordinator just walked into the bakery on the day of and bought it! at $23, it's gotta be the cheapest wedding cake in history. My only regret is that I didn't buy 2 since it was so cheap!!

There was no question in my mind that I was going to order my wedding cake from Portos! I went to a bridal expo and tasted a few samples from other bakeries. None of them tasted as good and they all costed more. Sometimes it was over a $400 price difference.If you are getting married in or around Los Angeles look no further. There is a reason this place has been in business for over 50 years and is consistently busy every time you go in there. Their cakes taste better and cost less than any other bakery I found. The customer service is excellent. It was one of the easiest vendor decisions I made. There was no question about it- I was ordering from them. I was extremely happy with the presentation, design, and taste of my cake. I will continue to order every cake I need from them. I ordered my wedding shower and birthday cake from them the past two years. And every time you go in there you can have a tasty lunch-as they are a restaurant as well.

We got our appetizers, wedding cake, and assorted other cakes from Porto’s. Everything was beautiful and tasted just as good as at the bakery. The wedding cake was beautiful, and exactly matched the written description that we designed during our tasting. Everyone was impressed with the quality of the food. The delivery was about an hour late, despite several phone calls where I had specifically stressed the importance of it being on time, but the cakes arrived in perfect condition and it turned out OK.

We had Porto's for our wedding cake through our choice of Calamigos Equestrian for our reception for our wedding April of 2011. We worked with Karen. She was simply amazing!!! For very little extra beyond what we were already supposed to pay Calamigos (and they paid Porto's), she was able to make us not just a simple cake but the enchanted forest wedding cake I had found a picture of online in our wedding colors. Working with her was really wonderful. We couldn't have asked for a better experience!!! Oh and by the way, of course the cake tasted absolutely delicious!!! :)

Totally disappointing experience. Cakes were either soggy or dry, the place was a madhouse, they throw a few pieces of cake on a plastic plate, they are very expensive for what they offer. We had to wait a very long time and they were trying to help several clients at the same time, we had to ask for water. The ingredients taste like they come from a big plastic container. We did not even get to sample the cakes that I was interested in.

I got soooo many compliments on this cake!! People are still telling me 27 days later that the cake was phenomenal and I absolutely loved it!!!

Portos was great, I tasted a lot of samples and plan to order my cake from here.

I don't know where to begin, all their items are so very good.
Their Cakes are so beautiful and delicious.
But the most must try is the "Potato Ball".

Can you ever go wrong with Porto's? I don't think so!My wedding cake was included with my reception package through Porto's so I didn't really have a choice when it came to a bakery but I have always loved Porto's and I knew that I wouldn't have to worry about a thing.I designed the look of my wedding cake and took in a hand drawn picture of what I wanted. I was a little worried because I am by no means an artist but my cake turned out looking exactly how I wanted it to look. It was beautiful! It tasted great! I couldn't be happier.

I've always loved Portos Cuban Sandwiches but I also loved my cake from them. Not only did they make a beautiful cake that was consistent with the inspiration picture I gave them, but it was also very yummy! I highly recommend Portos. We will definitely be returning to them.

We totally wanted the mocha mousse cake after having had it at other occasions (including a wedding reception) but alas the mousse frosting was a melt risk for our September wedding in the Valley. Yikes. We had also wanted Red Velvet (I never met a Red Velvet cupcake I didn't like) but because of the cream cheese frosting (which would also die in the Valley heat), Porto's advised us not to. Sigh. Then at the tasting we had the cuban style cake. 3-4 layers of golden cake, interfrosted with vanilla bean custard, and guava filling! HEAVEN!!!!! and the lightest buttercream you ever had (which was ivory and matched my dress and the color scheme).We were given the cake top before we went to the honeymoon suite and I totally ate 1/4 of that thing that night. True confessions.Porto's is totally the best deal and super yummy and moist! Not your typical wedding cake!And let me underscore (as others have all over the forums) that the cake samples at the tasting are really dry and don't accurately portray how tasty Porto's cakes are. try ordering the equivalent from the dessert counter (they're super duper cheap anyway!).

We are so glad we chose Porto's Bakery to do our wedding cake. The cake itself was gorgeous and turned out exactly the way we had hoped. It was also a great value for what it was. The only downside was the fact that we had to have it delivered from Glendale to Malibu which was a $100 delivery charge and the driver BARELY made it before the wedding started. Overall, it was a positive experience with Porto's and the cake was delicious.

Porto's Bakery made the most amazing wedding cake for us! We were very happy with the design of the cake. The only problem we encountered was getting the wedding cake on time to the reception area. It was delivered literally five minutes before the reception began and our pastries were delivered when cocktail hour was going on. Delicious cake and pastries, delivery service not so great.

I went to Porto's Bakery after having been a fan for many years. I had no doubt that it was going to be delicious. I went without an appointment and felt distraught for the lines were crazy as always. However, the minute I pulled someone aside and explained that I was getting married in a couple of weeks they rushed the whole process, making me feel comforted. I was able to taste cakes and choose the design within 30 minutes. I also chose to go with their appetizers as well. They delivered the cake and appetizers right when promised. Everyone raved about both! I am now an even bigger fan of Porto's

We live in Los Angeles and our wedding took place in Temecula. As soon as we found out Porto's Bakery would deliver to Temecula the question became the cake style and cake flavors. Our sales person was Kimberly Gonzalez. We loved her enthusiastic, polite, helpful, friendly personality. She was very patient during our cake tasting and visits. For our wedding we chose a 3 tier cake decorated with Circus roses in orange. The flowers were included in our cake style at no extra cost. The cake was delivered 150 miles to our wedding location and it arrived in perfect conditions. The delivery person did cake set up and we were very pleased with the quality of the service. The delivery fee was a bit pricey but we wanted our wedding cake to be a Porto's Bakery cake and it was worth it.

We got our wedding cake from Porto's and we're so happy we did! It turned out soooooooo yummy and beautiful! I brought in a photo of an "inspirational" cake, and they were able to make something really similar. Not only did it look great, it tasted incredible! Our guests continue to compliment us on the cake (even the supposed "non-cake eaters"). We're even freezing part of the top tier for our 1-year anniversary! :)

My husband and I set up an appointment with Portos a few months before our wedding. While I absolutely love some of their pastries (guava cheese puff, yum!), we weren't as impressed with their cakes. Their white cake was dry, and their yellow cake was pretty much what you expect from boxed yellow cake. The carrot cake was way too sweet for us. Plus, the designs seemed a little outdated. They seem to do most of their work with buttercream. The person that attended to us was very nice, and you pretty much can't beat their prices though (I think ~$550 for a 3 tier cake for 150 guests). We didn't end up going with Portos for our cake, but if you want a simple, inexpensive cake, I would take a look.

Even though we didn't love their wedding cakes, we'll still go back and get our cheese rolls, guava cheese puffs, and potato balls on a regular basis.

Instead of a traditional wedding cake, we decided to go the cupcake route. Porto's cupcakes were delicious, very affordable and were delivered right on time.

Our cake was part of our package. There is really no flexibilty if you step oitside the pre-defined styles, unless you are willing to pay more. The service was OK. This place is really busy, so you can expect to wait at times.

I did not get to even see any of the desserts left from this bakery. The guests LOVED their pastries and assortment of goods. They were very accomodating and helpful. The place is a little far, depending where in LA/OC you live, but it is well worth it. Thank you!!! Great now I am in OH and I am craving their goodies!!! lol

The cake was exactly what I designed and it tasted great. The only issue is they are very hard to get on the phone because everyone else is trying to get them on the phone.

I've been going to Porto's for years now. When it came time for a wedding cake I knew exactly where to go. I've been waiting in line at the Glendale location on many occassions looking up at those cakes on the second floor. I wanted a beautiful cake that also tasted good. My cake was perfect, as is everything I have ever bought there.

Let me say that Porto's went way beyond my expectations. I know their bakery is great but I was a bit unsure about their wedding cakes. So I researched and tried many cake places and all were far more expensive than what I was looking for. I gave in and went to Porto's and they went above and beyond to help me. I wanted snowflakes on my cake and unlike the other places, Porto's thought it was a great idea. I gave them the cookie cutters and they even made a few trial snowflakes with some test colors to make sure it was what I wanted. They also had some additional ideas that made it look better. That's what it looked like....but the taste...the BEST!! Everyone loved the cake and people tried to steal a second helping. Their Black Magic Cake is to die for. On top of that, they worked with me on the price and it was easily half the cost of any other place I had talked to. I would definitely recommend them to anyone!

Porto's is simply a must have for your home paries, their starters and deserts are simply the best.

Porto's Bakery in Glendale was my very first choice for the wedding cake. You just can't go wrong with Porto's! Everything they make is good. I went with a girlfriend the first time to try a sampling of different cake flavors they had. Delicious! I went a second time with my fiancee to actually pick out the design and flavors. The ladies who assisted me both times were all very nice, helpful and patient. I ended up choosing one of the designs on display which they charged an amazing price for. I ordered a three-tiered cake with two different flavors and a simple design; with delivery, it cost less than $300. This was very good value compared to Hansen's Cakes and Regal Cake which I also checked out. I had to change the delivery time two separate times and was afraid that that might confuse them, but on my wedding day, the cake arrived perfectly on time and it was beautiful and delicious!

This place is always crowded! One day I wanted to see what all the fuss was about (because I've heard so much about their cakes), but I didn't get a chance to try anything because the lines were so long. But the other day someone brought in a birthday cake from them and it was so delicious! Their wedding cake flavors sound really good.

Porto's in Glendale did an amazing job on our cake. We actually got married in Catalina Island and we had to transport the cake to Long Beach. Then take it over to Catalina on the boat! Not only did the cake withstand the trip, the pineapple filling was AMAZING!!!! I highly recommend them.

Cheap, tasty, and beautiful...what more could you want? Was it the most amazing cake I've ever tasted? No, but it was pretty darn good and at $250 including delivery for an 80 person cake (with tons left over) it was TOTALLY WORTH IT!!!

Our wedding cake completely crumbled when we cut it which was heart breaking. Someone explained that that meant they must have frozen it previously which makes sense since they are such a busy store. The place is a mad house with wedding cake and birthday cake orders. But the price was really good and it was pretty, before we cut it.

Oh, and I purchased ribbon for the cake which I dropped off when I placed the order. I took extra just in case. They said they would drop the extra when they deliverd the cake. They forgot. Not a big deal but still if they would have remembered it would have been more impressive.

I used Porto's Bakery for my wedding cake and it was very good. We had 3 different flavors which were all complimented on. I did not like the cake tasting and sales meeting but am so glad that I went with them. They cake was just what I wanted in terms of look and taste and was delievered in perfect condition and on time. Be sure to make an appointment as they wont even let you look at the wedding book without one. Some of their staff is a bit rude but it was so worth it! The cake was VERY reasonable in price as well.

The cake here is amazing. I ordered my wedding cake and the process was easy. I got lost looking for their office. No one told me it was upstairs!!

I have tasted their samples and it was SO HARD to choose one!! I ended up with half and half!

Porto’s was great. We went in for the tasting and they had pre-determined flavors available; and, although they didn’t have the flavors I specifically requested when I set up the appointment, they made a point of acquiring them. The cupcakes at our wedding went very quickly and they were delivered on time. They tasted wonderful and were made to our specifications regarding the type of frosting and a couple of other minor requests we had (no sprinkles, no sugar on top). They can be a little hard to get a hold of, but other than that I would highly recommend them.

My wedding cake was very delicious and creative. Porto's has very creative cakes and help you out to find the best cake for you to match with your wedding theme. It's a little expensive but definitely worth it.

If you're looking for a great tasting, beautifully designed, and inexpensive wedding cake, then you should go to Portos (the wedding cakes are only available at their Glendale bakery).It's a bit challenging to select a cake without visiting the bakery in person (they do not have a great website), so if you can, go to the cake tasting, which is very helpful and filling (you can try any number of cakes and fillings).I was so impressed that they could produce the cake that I had requested based on a poorly composed picture. Their delivery fee is very reasonable and the cost of the cake plus the delivery is still cheaper than purchasing a less tasty cake from your caterer.

My wedding cake was perfect! It arrived on time and the guy helped us set it up. The fillings were amazing and we were very happy.

Our bakery, Porto's in Glendale is AMAZING! The bottom floor is a bakery and restaurant with the best food and goodies (the cheese rolls are delicious)! Upstairs is the cake designing area. Our cake designer Lulu is easy to work worth, she understood exactly what I was looking for and had great ideas to make my vision better. My family is very picky about the wedding cake and they thought it was one of the best tasting cakes they ever had.

Absolutely wonderful! I knew exactly what flavor cake I wanted because I've had their cakes many times prior to my wedding! However, I could not decide on the look. Our meeting with them was amazing. They were so patient with my indecisiveness and offered fabulous suggestions. I could not have been happier with the results! Thank you!!

Portos is one of the best bakeries out there! There breads are temptation to me. My friend ordered her cake from Portos and it was exactly what I expected, delicious!

Yummy and affordable. They do not have fancy designs, but if you are going for the simple look, they are the place to go. We livened our cake up with a cute cake-topper and a cake platform. Our guests were impressed that our cake actually tasted good.

On short notice you won't be able to get the flavors of the cake you want, they only offer yellow cake after a certain amount of time. The cake was delicious and they offer delivery; however, they smudge the cake during delivery which was disappointing.

The company who catered my wedding got my cake from Porto's. I felt so lucky to have such a beautiful, magnificent, and tasty piece of art for my cake. Everyone knows the wedding cake is almost the most important item in the reception room and it has to be an eye catcher. Mine sure was! No wonder Porto's has been around for so long!

Porto's Bakery had the best tasting cake from all the bakeries I had to choose from. I noticed this is a very popular and known bakery once I visited their location. The lines were out the door and the food and pasteries looked amazing! I plan to go back and try them. Don't worry because the everyday crowd does not take away from an employee helping you order your cake. They were very helpful and detailed when placing your cake order. Once I saw the cake for my wedding it was exactly what we went over and it was absolutley beautiful. I would definately recommend Porto's for a wedding cake. I did not purchase the cake directly through Porto's, it was part of my wedding package at the reception site.

We go to Porto's Bakery all the time and its our favorite destination for pastries and cakes.It was great having them make our wedding cake especially after seeing some of their gorgeous work.I opted with the Traditional white layered cake with different filling on every layer.It was very easy having them deliver the cake to our house.We where very impressed with how the cake turned out it had a very nice design and was still moist and delicious on our wedding day.Can't thank them enough for their great work.

Porto has the best red velet cake ever. I had many tastings at other bakeries but Porto's Bakery had the best one. I tend to go with just plain vanilla cake but after having the red velet, I would love to eat that everyday (I wish!).

The chocolate on the other hand had a very plain out of the box taste. I did not like it at all. Many people commented on how much better the red velet tasted and I agree.

Can't wait to go back and get me some more red velet cake!

We chose Porto's for two reason's: 1) Reasonable Cost and 2) Great tasting cakes. Cake didn't come out exactly as the photo we gave them, but the cake was still great tasting. Cons:Understaffed when ordering, long wait to be served (even with appointments), not too professional.

Their cakes are very nice looking and are perfect for the photography. Just know what flavor you want and try them when you go to a Porto's location.

Porto's is my husband's favorite bakery. Their designs are nice (nothing extraordinary) but the cakes are delicious! Our wedding cake was simple, and our florist added flowers to dress it up. Guests raved about how good the cake was!

The cake was gorgeous and it was delicious. However, I wish that they would have contacted me to confirm the date/time of delivery. Every time I tried to contact them, it was a long wait to speak to someone in the cake department.

For my Engagement Party and Bridal/Groom Shower, we had order our pastries with Porto's. They are simply delious..difinately worth the wait.

Our wedding cake was as delicious as every cake we have ever ordered from Porto's - and that's a lot of cakes! We selected the mocha cake with vanilla custard, and the black magic cake with raspberry compote. Guests made positive comments about both flavors. I had a custom topper and ribbon which I dropped off a few weeks in advance. Everything was prepared exactly according to our instructions. We also rented a silver plateau from them, which was priced 2/3 less than the same plateau from a popular local party rental company. I cannot imagine wasting money at another bakery when Porto's has such fantastic cakes at fantastic prices.

I have been going to portos since I was a small child, therefore it was a no brainer when I decided to order my wedding cake from them.

I made an appointment, and went in to order my cake. The person who helped us was very friendly and helped me figure out the logistics for the delivery (which was over 60 miles away).

The cake and desserts that we ordered were the hit of the reception, BUT the decorations on the cake were not as I had ordered them. I asked for very NATURAL looking flowers on my cake and I got some hideous turquoise orchids after I had been assured very tasteful decorations.

Be very clear on what you expect, otherwise the cake decorator will do whatever he/she thinks is appropriate, which may be very different from your particular taste.

I was really happy we decided to use Porto's Bakery for our rehearsal dinner cake. It was amazing. I think it was even better than our weding cake!

Portos did a great job with our cake. We had a different flavor for each layer and a simple design that our florist Kerim just added fresh flowers to and it was gorgeous. The guests loved the cake and so did we.

I'm a huge fan of their cakes so I knew from the early stages of wedding planning that Porto's is doing my cake! The cake arrived on time and although it wasn't as moist as I had remembered, we still think it's one of the best (and affordable) cakes out there.

Our cake was a finger licking Tiramasu!! Our guests loved it and took all left overs home!! We have gone to Porto's for all of our occasions before our wedding and so it was only natural to go to them for the most important day of our lives.

I love Portos cakes (and the bakery) so this was a natural choice for our wedding cake. Our cake looked and tasted great! (and was very consistent to what we've had in the store)One tip - the store is always busy, so I would recommend making an appointment to look at cakes. The best part is that my husband and I decided not to freeze the top of our cake for a year (since I've never heard of anyone having luck with that). We ate it when we got back from the honeymoon, and we're planning on getting another cake from them on our anniversary!

Porto's is amazing!!!! They're cakes are excellent. We didn't go with a classic frosty three tier cake and forced them to do something out of the ordinary, and it worked out perfectly. There was a nice fee attached to delivery, but all in all, we loved them. Would definitely recommend

I really love their cake, I got chocolate raspberry and the carrot cake, everyone at the wedding loved the cake and I knew that once they took a bite into it, they were going to love it even more.

All our guests loved our cake! Not only was it delicious, it was exactly what we envisioned and ordering it was very easy. We had our florist put the finishing decorations so it was perfect. We had a strawberry layer, mango layer, and cuban cake layer.

Excellent in every aspect.

We got lots of compliments on our cake! It was moist and tasty! Just the right sweetness. I just ate it (a week and a half later) and it's still really good! :D

Lourdes helped us from beginning to end and she was wonderful! Patient and attentive to the details. We changed our cake about 5 times and she redrew the cake each time for us with just as much detail. The baker created exactly what we wanted!

Only thing is delivery time was supposed to be 5pm, but they came at 4pm. Luckily, our florist came early and had the cake table almost done. When I asked the delivery guy if he could wait 10 min so the florist could finish the cake table, he flat out said no. That would be my only complaint because if my florist didn't happen to start an hour earlier than scheduled, the cake table would not have been set up yet.

Our wedding cake was so tasty and looked beautiful! Portoâs is a family favorite, so we knew we wanted to have our wedding cake from them. The customer service was great from the time we walked in for the cake tasting âtil the end. We did our planning long-distance, so it was great that they were able to work through some last-minute design and flavor changes by phone.

I was a little worried about getting our cake from Porto's, because other people had warned me that they weren't very stylish and didn't have creative flavors like a lot of the other cake makers do. Still, G. was very insistent that we get our cake from Porto's so we could be sure it would taste good, so I agreed.

We got the Cuban cake (yellow cake dipped in rum) filled with Bavarian cream and frosted with Italian meringue. I gave them a picture of a cake that had caught my eye and asked them to duplicate it as best they could.

Not only did the duplicate it, they improved on it! They did a very artistic version of woodgrain and then carefully "burned" it with a blowtorch to darken it.

And it was delish, too -- my husband's nephew (who normally doesn't like cake) admitted to eating two pieces at the wedding and taking seven pieces home. We were lucky to get a slice of our own cake to take back to the hotel.

WOW this is the place for wedding cakes! The only big, major problem was that they actually delivered us the WRONG CAKE! However, I will say that it ended up not mattering much at all since EVERY CAKE THEY MAKE IS DELICIOUS! So, although we (the bride and groom) knew it was not the 1/2 Cuban, 1/2 chocolate with Bavarian creme cake that we ordered, we were the only ones who knew that. I called them and told them but honestly never pursued anything since the other wedding never claimed that their cake was incorrect. Not worth it. I would get even the most simple, plain white cake from Porto's and truly love it!

You really can't beat their moist, yummy cakes! Especially for the price!

They crafted a lovely shell cake for a Malibu beach wedding and it was stunning to look at and the guests had even more fun eating it! I have never seen so many guests stop dancing to enjoy a piece of cake! Really! Everyone devoured it! It was really fun to watch!

Ask Paulo to be your delivery man and order a medianoche preparada along with your cake! If you're hungry, their sandwiches can't be beat!
