Let me start of by saying we truly had the wedding of our dreams! There is no winery as beautiful as Potomac Point in this area. My bridesmaids and I used the adorable bridal salon to get ready and from the moment we walked into the winery we were treated like gold. Everyone was so accommodating and professional. Our cocktail and reception went off without a hitch. My guests are still raving about how beautiful everything was, how amazing the food & wine was and how much fun they had. There are so many locations in and out of the winery that are perfect for photos, we went everywhere! Tanya, was the coordinator and she was a joy to work with. She made sure everything went according to plan and I can honestly say I didn't think about a single logistical item all day. My husband and I had so much fun and I want to do it all over again!

There could not be a more beautiful location in Northern Virginia than Potomac Point Winery. The inside of the building, the basement, the bridal suite as well as the winery grounds are all just picturesque. However, you do pay for what you get -- compared to several other locations, it is on the higher end of the spectrum. Tanya, the wedding coordinator, is fantastic on the day of your wedding. She definitely knows what she is doing and has everyone where they need to be, including all vendors. We had a few minor incidents but she always did her best to fix what she could. For example: Part of my cake fell apart, but she had the pastry chef put it back together immediately. There is a required caterer, but all other vendors are up to the bride's choosing. No liquor or kegs are allowed, but you can bring your own bottled beer. Wine is obviously only allowed from the winery. In spite of those few limitations, it is worth it to have your wedding at such a gorgeous location. Thank you Potomac Point :)

Potomac Point Winery was the setting for our 15 guest ceremony and reception. It was perfect in every way. The venue itself is rustic elegance at it's best, with dimmed wall sconces and iron chandeliers creating the perfect ambiance to complement the stacked barrels of aging wine. The wedding coordinator and catering coordinator were very responsive and efficient. The food was unique and delicious. And, of course, the wine was excellent. Overall, there isn't one thing that could have been better...a lovely day.

I LOVE POTOMAC POINT!!! We love the Mediterranean feel that the winery oozes, and not only is the winery beautiful, but the wine is fantastic and the food is to die for. We had both the ceremony and the reception and PPW. However, what we found most impressive was the group of people working there. The staff has weddings down to a science, which alleviates a huge portion of the stress on the wedding day. It was so easy for me and bridal party to kick back and relax on the day. Even when our DJ failed to show up for our wedding (high stress!), Skip and Cindi sprung into crisis management mode. Skip doubled as the announcer for the wedding party and Cindi managed iPod music... and these are the OWNERS! They worked frantically with my caterer to find us another DJ, all the while keeping the stress and insanity of the situation away from festivities. I cannot thank them enough. Potomac Point was the absolute perfect venue for our wedding. Thank you!!

Absolutely beautiful venue - our ceremony was held in the Coyote Cave, the cocktail hour in the Barrell Room, and the reception in the ball room and patio. We were beyond pleased with the attention to detail by the Potomac Point Winery staff and owners. Thank you for a fabulous wedding day!

I was SOO happy that I decided to have my wedding ceremony and reception here!! It was absolutely GORGEOUS, and all my family and friends agreed! The weather was perfectly sunny, and everything went as planned! All my pictures look so beautiful because this winery is just beautiful itself! Laura was super nice and helpful and really helped me get all the details ironed out. I had the wedding reception outside on the patio, instead of the ballroom (which was also beautiful), but I am SOO glad that I had it on the patio (with the ballroom tables), because when the sun went down....that sunset was absolutely spectacular....and all my guests loved it... They couldn't stop talking about how romantic and beautiful it was!! I really loved it and would recommend it to any bride who wants to feel like a princess!! :) :) :)

Potomac Point Winery made my wedding day the day of my dreams. Laura, the coordinator, was a pleasure to work with. She went above and beyond to make our wedding process and wedding day calm, easy, and a day to remember. However, the owner of the winery that helped during the day of the wedding, was very rude to myself (the bride), the bridal party, and my vendors. I was very unhappy with her demeanor and did not feel that she was professional. Despite this, I would still undoubtedly recommend Potomac Point Winery as THE place to have your wedding ceremony and reception!

Working with Laura at PPW was an awesome experience. She was very responsive in our needs and questions. She was right on board with us, right down to the very last detail. It was exactly what I imagined it would be. She made our wedding day very smooth in every event, from the grape stomping to exiting the reception with sparklers. I wouldn't change anything, it was the first and best decision we made for the wedding. Thank-you Laura! Thank-you Potomac Point Winery.

This location is very beautiful and was the best value of all of the venues that we looked at. We had our ceremony and reception here outdoors. The event coordinator, Laura, was excellent! She is completely unflappable, very friendly and extremely easy to work with. She was very patient and friendly with the kids as well. She is very busy and so she's not always easy to get in touch with; HOWEVER, she always gets back to you when you leave a message and is very responsive. She was very well organized and kept us on schedule-- which was not an easy task. The day of the wedding my bridal party had lunch in the conference room by the bridal suite (which is very convenient for getting ready) and the food was very good and service was excellent. I was a little disappointed that we were originally planning to work with the onsite caterer and were later told that they were unable to accommodate our party due to its size. We ended up hiring the preferred caterer "42 Degrees" instead and they were wonderful and very responsive, so it all worked out well in the end. The high points of this venue are definitely Laura and the scenary!

I did not get married here but almost selected Potomac Point as my venue. I loved the thought of being married at a winery. I was dissapointed that the vines weren't matured enough to actually give it a vinyard feel. This is only because they were just recently planted so the fields looked very bare. It was pretty hard getting the staff to call us back after sending enquiries both by email and phone. They have several rooms available for events. I like the barrel room and my fiance liked the coyote cave but to me it felt very closed in and tight. Not to mention DARK! The gazebo is a painted bronze or gold and i felt that it looked gaudy. One good idea if you choose Potomac Point for a ceremony and recption... you guests can take a tour of the winery in between the ceremony and reception while you and your wedding party are taking pictures around the site. That will keep them busy for about a half hour and I think they can do tours in groups of 30. Anyway, it seemed to be a great site... just not quite what I was looking for.

This was a beautiful winery! All of my guests were impressed and in awe of how stunning the winery looks. Laura was my point of contact and assisted me in so many ways. She had valuable suggestions and helped me plan my perfect wedding. It was easy to contact her via email and their recommended vendor list was also a helpful starting point. I could not have imagined a better and more perfect day! I would recommend this winery to anyone who wants a to feel like they are the only wedding that matters---when you work with PPW you feel like family to them! It is incredible!!! A bit pricey but well worth every dime I can promise you! Even for smaller weddings they have great options! They can work with any budget. The best part about the winery is there is a rain plan which many outdoor sites do not offer. Photos are easy with and beautiful with such a picturesque environment that PPW has created! LOVED IT!

Laura was really great to work with - super nice, friendly, organized, and helpful!

Potomac Point Winery is a beautiful new winery in Fredericksburg, Virginia. It just opened up in July 2008, so the vineyards are new, but the wine is fantastic and it has the ambiance of a French winery. I was looking for a place big enough to fit 200 people in the Fredericksburg area, and the Richmond Ballroom is perfect. It is very nicely decorated and the wine cave is a unique place to hold the cocktail hour. I look forward to having my reception here.

I love this vineyard, it is beautiful, Laura the wedding planner was absolutely fantastic and the best part of our experience with this vineyard. We love the wine, the ceremony grounds and reception room were beautiful. I had a great wedding. I don't want to downplay that, but the frustration that I had to go through for it was a lot. We got married Nov. 1st, 2008 our rehearsal dinner was on Halloween. I noticed on the vineyard's website a month ahead of time that there was an event planned for the 31st/1st, I called the vineyard to see if it would conflict with our rehearsal dinner and wedding. I was told by the owner that it would not. I specifically said that I was worried that there would be Halloween decorations (bats and spider webs) in the background of our pictures and the owner ensured me that it would not happen. The day of the wedding, the event planner came to tell me that they didn't want to take down the Halloween decorations because it took so long to decorate. So, after being promised, there were bats and spider webs in the background of some of my wedding pictures. Other than that, I felt nickel and dimed, and they weren't receptive of outside caterers after they switched their in-house caterer on us. The day of the wedding, when my brother, who was officiating the wedding, arrived and found the owner to ask where they should go to find the wedding party, they were told to just go have a wine tasting. Only after they mentioned that he was officiating were they shown some kindness and pointed to the ceremony grounds and wedding party. The facility itself was perfect. I just felt like there was a lot that could be improved on. The venue is lovely, really beautiful, but for the price, I would really expect more customer service.

I have to disagree with the previous reviews. My husband and I actually had our wedding there in October of 2008 and were very happy. Laura is fantastic, the place is great. Yes you have to work with them to make sure you get exactly what you want, but where don't you. The new caterer they brought in is 10 times better than the previous and had wonderful menu ideas. We loved every moment of our event and would highly recommend it. The only negative, we thought we would have the entire one side of the venue to ourself and the owner was doing guided tours. I would specify with them if seeing other people bothers you. Check it out, you will love it. There is no other winery like it in the area.

Overall we had a fantastic experience! Yes, it got a little confusing while Laura was our on maternity leave and I could tell that the people who took over for her were not experienced in the events side of the business. Luckily Laura came back the week before the wedding and everything was fine the day of. Yes, the venue is very expensive but for me, it was worth it to have a very nice wedding in a county that doesn't offer many choices when it comes to venues that hold 150+. I had my fairy tale wedding and for that I am happy!!

When looking for ceremony and reception locations this was a place I really wanted to check out! It's a very pretty place! They have several options if having a smaller wedding, however if having a bigger wedding there is only the one spot outside. I did not like how people would be walking down to the ceremony on the grass, without there even being some sort of path. The ceremony location is a little awkward to me. The big reception room is very nice. It's a good size for around 150 people. The event coordinator they have was VERY nice! She had great ideas!! I just can't seem to remember her name. We did not like that they didn't serve any kind of alcohol other than wine and champagne. They might serve beer, but I am thinking they don't, I can't totally remember. It's a very pretty place but the cost of it is WAY to high!! I think they are really overpriced! I have heard of some people that have come to this place and their food came out cold. Now don't get me wrong, I think this is a very nice place! I have gone here for a couple wine tastings and plan to go again. I just think there are a few things they can improve on.

The best part about having our rehearsal dinner at Potomac Point was the relief that we decided to have our wedding reception elsewhere. First the positives - the location is amazing, the building and the grounds are beautiful - there is simply no arguing that.It seems that the negatives all come from the fact that the winery has only been open for a little more than a year. In planning our event we had to to deal with two seperate event cordinators and one of the owners. There was a high level of frustration in having to go over details and requests three seperate times and on occassion receiving conflicting answers to our questions. The initial in house catering staff was let go just as we were about to finalize the menu and so we had to start all over with the new staff. While the food was good it was extremly slow to come out of the kitchen. Service was poor. While the current event cordinator, Laura, seems to have her act together, the amount of seperate fees and other assorted charges that they incorporate into their fee structure is ridiculous. After having an event there you feel like you are walking out nickel and dimed to death. If you have an unlimited budget and enjoy being frustrated I would recommend them, otherwise the beauty of the place isn't worth it.

The winery is beautiful and serves as a great venue for the wedding ceremony and the reception afterwards. We loved it and got married under a gazebo they have on-site.
I've had the opportunity to provide floral decor for the Winerys clients over the last several years, a truly professional venue and organization. The grounds and facility are kept manicured, clean and modern yet welcoming and expect the same in return. If you like to see beautiful wrought iron work used in a variety of ways to create an elegant atmosphere, they definitely achieved it.
I recommend the services of Potomac Point Winery to make your Wedding Day that very special day you always wanted, that will be remembered and cherished by you and all your guests for many years to come. ~~ Angela Neik, www.calligraphybyangela.com Dallas Calligrapher 214 957 2155
