have no complaints. They were wonderful to work with. I had no issues when we had to reschedule and when it came to the day of the wedding, they were awesome. Everything was set up perfectly. The food was great. People have been raving about the amount of food they got. I’ve never been to a wedding where they offer you seconds at dinner. We were treated like a king and queen. Our plates and glasses were never empty. You cannot beat the packages they offer and their service was phenomenal.

My husband and I met here, at a party. So it was the only place we thought of to get married at! The Poughkeepsie Grand was fabulous. The staff was awesome! For the price, we received, top shelf open bar the whole time, a bridal suite that I used to get ready in, and it was mine the whole entire time I was there. We received a bridal suite and 5 complimentary hotel rooms for our guests. The food was outstanding! Our maitre'd was Rob - who hung up my husbands tux when we went up to my room! It was just the best time ever!!!!!!!! Also, in the morning we received a complimentary breakfast - which had everything you could think of. I had so many people tell me to just skip a wedding, and take off to an island. That I would regret all the money spent, and it is just for one day. Blah, blah, blah! The Poughkeepsie Grand was such a great place to get married and have my reception. I would recommend it to anyone getting married. They were so great and on top of everything i didnt have a worry at all on that day

Michelle Nissen is the best coordinator at the Grand. We book our wedding a year and a half in advance and Michelle was there every step of the way. She was quick to respond to my emails and questions and was always available to help. She planned everything perfectly for us. The ceremony room and our reception area was decorated just how we imagined it. I loved that a week before the wedding Michelle planned it that I bring everything to her, from our place cards, decorations and favors, etc, that way I do not have to worry about anything, and it was the best idea. They were accommodating to our guests who have food allergies. The food was incredible!! Our guests loved the buffet. The Grand had so many choices to choose from for our buffet. Our maitre d, Jake was amazing as well. He made sure that at all times my husband and I, as well as our parents were happy, had a full drink and a smile on their face. Thew bridal suite was beautiful, breakfast in the morning was good and was a great way to spend time with family and friends the next day. The hotel staff were accommodating as well. My bridesmaids and I stayed the night before the wedding and they made sure that the girls rooms for the next night were near rooms we had so they wouldn't have to go far with their stuff. We could of not picked a better place for our wedding. The price was great for the package we got, and was worth every penny!! I HIGHLY recommend The Poughkeepsie Grand Hotel to anyone for the wedding!

The Poughkeepsie Grand went above and beyond to make my husband and myself feel llike we had a platinum wedding!! Tara and her staff were very friendly to everyone. Cudos to you all!! You made my day even more special than I even imagined it would be.

We had our wedding at the Grandview in Poughkeepsie and used the Poughkeepsie Grand for guest accomodations and the honeymoon suite. They also provided a shuttle to and from the Grandview for our guests to use to get between the locations. The services were wonderful. Check-in was a breeze and the staff was incredibly polite. The honeymoon suite was absolutely epic! I just wish we could have spent more time there (we left for the honeymoon at 4am, so didn't get to take advantage of the cute little dinette by the window looking over the river and the bridge, so cute!) The bathroom was very impressive in the suite as well, one of those things you'd have to see to appreciate.. it was very fancy!

Love the staff at the Poughkeepsie Grand Hotel! It was a pleasure working with this group. They did everything they could to make my wedding day special. No task was too big or too small for them. They are very organized and detail oriented.

We had our reception at the Poughkeepsie Grand two weeks ago and our guests are still raving about it!! Where do I even begin?! The whole planning process was extremely easy. When I compare my process with other friends who have gotten married, mine seemed to be less stressful than theirs. The sales managers you work with throughout the process are extremely helpful, knowledgeable and experienced. They are quick to respond to any questions you have. On the night of our reception they showed us the ballroom before the guests saw it and I was absolutely amazed. It looked even more beautiful than I had imagined it would be. They set up everything the way we wanted it to be set up and made it look even better than the way I had showed them. The staff was so attentive to not only us, but to all of our guests. Our guests keep telling us that they were the best staff they had ever met at a wedding. The staff had smiles on their faces all night and took such wonderful care of me and my husband and all of our guests. The food was incredible. Our guests were gushing to us about how great the food was from the cocktail hour through the dinner. It was great that we had our guests staying there as well because when they are ready to leave they went right up to their room and we didn't have to worry about anyone driving. Even the front desk staff were amazing! They were super energetic and accommodating to us and our guests. I would, without a doubt, recommend this venue to anyone and everyone. My husband and I got married here on 8.26.11 and the ceremony was set up really beautiful. Michelle was the best coordinator. The cocktail hour was great. Once your hand has no drink, they bring you another right away. Drinks are amazing, as is the crab rangoon omg! So many chicken choices to choose from as your chicken choice. Everything was delicious. Staff is so friendly. The free trolley takes you to shadows and the last pick up time is 1:30am. Very convenient. Our friends and family said it was the best wedding hands down.

The Grand Hotel did an excellent job! Michelle was always very helpful AND always easy to get in touch with. The food was amazing and the way they decorated and set things up was very elegant & beautiful. I would very highly recommend taking a look at the Grand Hotel as a possible wedding venue.

From the moment we booked with Rachel at the Grand Hotel we were astonished by the wonderful service and attentiveness we received. Rachel was amazing. She answered every inquiry of ours in a very timely manner and accommodated all of our requests. Her skill and expertise in planning a wedding reception were extraordinarily helpful in our planning process. On our wedding day, the service, food and decor were beyond anything we had ever imagined. I can honestly say that every single aspect of our wedding reception was beyond exceptional. Our maitre'd, Jacob, was always within arms reach and so gracious, as was our head server. The staff, coordinator, food and bartenders were all incredibly amazing. My husband and I are hoping that we get invited to a wedding held at the Grand Hotel so that we can re-live such a wonderful night. Many, many thanks to everyone at the Grand Hotel. ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!

We and our out of town guests stayed at The Grand after our wedding. It was a beautiful hotel and a good value for the money. Our bridal suite was beautiful and the view was gorgeous. The breakfast was great as well and we loved meeting our guests for breakfast before everyone departed.

I can not praise the service I received from the POK grand staff enough. Five stars does not seem to be as high as they deserve. Our coordinator Michelle did everything a bride could possibly ask for to help our reception go smoothly. They set up all our decorations, cleaned everything up, helped our vendors set up, etc. Michelle even let our groomsmen use the additional bridal suite to get ready in, even though our package only included one suite which the bridesmaids and I were using. The food was amazing and they even sent out small sampler plates to the guests which had samples of the dishes they did not order on them. All the guests said it was the best wedding cake they have ever eaten. I had a full candy buffet which the staff completely set up and cleaned up for me without any direction. They even spread little sparkles and glass decorations I had given them, on all the tables. I really cannot praise the POK grand enough for their quality of service. In addition to all of this, the place is absolutely beautiful and the price cannot be beat!! Thank you POK grand for making my day so awesome! On a side note, POK grand uses Lucille's Floral Design, for their centerpieces. We decided to use her for our bouquets as well. Well the centerpieces were quite ugly and when it came time to leave for the church, we realized we had one less bridesmaid bouquet than what we were supposed to have! Our head waited had to run around and pick flowers out of the (ugly) centerpieces to make a bouquet for the maid of honor. Also my flowers were pretty but not that fresh as they had brown around the edges and the Bridesmaid's bouquets fell apart as we were taking pictures after the church. If you are going to use the POK grand I would opt out of the centerpieces and use a company of your own choosing.

I could not be happier with The Grand. Michelle did an awesome job. Everything was exactly as I imagined. And better than I would have asked them to set up. From the minute I checked in, to the ceremony and reception, till the moment I left, I was greeted and helped by a very warm and friendly staff. The bridal suite was beautiful. I did not want to leave. I wished I had booked a second night.

We used the Poughkeepsie Grand Hotel for our wedding guests to stay at for our wedding that was held at the Grandview. The staff of the Grand was very accomodating. The hotel has been recently remodeled from top to bottom and is beautiful! The bridal suite was huge and had a great view of the bridge and the river. The complimentary breakfast for all of our guests staying at the hotel had a lot to offer and was delicious! Thank you!

The Grand was absolutely wonderful on all counts. Leading up to the wedding everyone was extremely helpful in the planning process and answering any and all questions we had. In addition, the booking of rooms for our guests was so easy and the staff was willing to help in any way possible. The day of the wedding, we could not have asked for better service. Everyone went above and beyond to make sure that our day was perfect. In addition, the benefits are above and beyond for the price-per-plate the Grand charges. I would definitely recommend the Grand to anyone wanting to have a wedding in the Poughkeespie area.

My wedding was the BEST DAY OF MY LIFE and much of that is due to the Poughkeepsie Grand. Along the way, they were so flexible with my options for our catering and the price was just so low compared to others- but the food and service was not sacrificed. Our guests loved the food and the surroundings, it was BEAUTIFUL at Christmas time. Our Maitre De was fabulous and very attentive- many of our guests said that ours was the best, most fun wedding they have been to!

I loved everything about the Poughkeepsie Grand. I had the pleasure of working with Michelle throughout the entire planning process. She and the staff were wonderful! Every time I talk to one of my guests, they tell me how much fun they had, how wonderful the service was, and how outstanding the food was! The Poughkeepsie Grand was excellent. The price is reasonable, the staff are wonderful to work with and you get so much with your package. You get SO much food, free honeymoon suite, free rooms, rooms at a discounted price for your guests, cake is included, cocktail and reception in 2 different rooms, expert help and so much more.

Worked amazing with all our other vendors. Made us feel like a prince and princess. Made our dream wedding come true.

I planned a wedding from out of state and Michelle at the Poughkeepsie Grand Hotel made that so easy for me. Then, during the actual reception, everything was exactly as I had requested and better. The wait staff was amazing, the food was incredible, and the organization was outstanding. It is definitely a good bang for your buck.

They were very great and made everything wonderful and I coulnt have asked for anything better.

The Grand did an excellent job with my wedding. We had booked them only 3 months prior to the wedding, and in that 3 month period everything was ironed out in only 3 meetings. Tara was a pleasure to work with, as well as the rest of the staff. The food was excellent, and VERY plentiful. The bridal party was given a private room to relax in during the cocktail hour and we were doted on basically hand and foot. I never felt like any of the staff was insincere and the Maitre d' was wonderful. The centerpieces were included and I was pleasantly surprised. The staff did a wonderful job decorating as I was not picky and gave them free reign (basically I told them to just "make it look good"). Everything was spectacular and the amount of things they include is astounding. Definitely worth every penny.

We couldn't have asked for more. The staff was so helpful and it was like they read our mind. We had everything we wanted and needed. The night was a dream!

The Poughkeepsie Grand Hotel was great! Michelle was extremely helpful and very responsive! I was nervous about a few or many things and Michelle eased all of my concerns. I would like the entrance from the parking garage to be as grand as the rest of the hotel. They do absolutely everything for you! I can not say enough about the excellent experience we had!

I couldn't have been happier with our choice of venue for our reception. To every last detail, Rachel Davis and staff gave us our dream wedding.

Overall- Excellent experience!!!
They did not provide the champagne to our guests during cocktail- which we paid for.
One person told us to enter and my fiance almost saw me prior to the ceremony...our best man caught that in time thank god!
They did not light our candle ahead of time, so we had to stop the ceremony so someone could get matches...this lost us some time.

Overall though- wonderful.
The food was excellent and the help/wait staff/mat. D....ect. were super!!

Loved having everything in one location

Overall we were extremely happy with the Pok Grand for our wedding. Our Maitre d' Jacob was OUTSTANDING! He knew what we wanted before we wanted it and made sure we had it, whatever it was. All the service staff were amazing. The food was good, not great, but tasty and there was tons of it. The only complaint we have is about our wedding coordinator Michelle. My husband and I are very non-traditional people. We didn't want the standard cookie cutter wedding, rather one that really reflected us and our likes. Michelle fought us every step of the way. One of the things I didn't like was that when you do a sweetheart table, they put the cake table directly in front of it. I'm short, so no one would be able to see me behind my cake. When I said I wanted it moved, she told me that was how they did it. It took me ten minutes of arguing for her to say, "oh well we can put it over here." Many things were like that with Michelle. So I say use the Grand because they are an amazing deal and you get good quality for the money, but stay away from Michelle.

We were completely satisfied with the service we received from The Grand and, most importantly, our guests were very happy and had plenty to eat and drink. Most of them said that with all the food at the cocktail hour, they could barely eat their meal! Our personal Maitre D’ was excellent and always made sure we had plenty for ourselves. After the reception was over and my husband and I went to our room (5 complementary hotel rooms and Bridal Suite are included), they had leftover food put into our refrigerator and that was just wonderful – we had it for lunch the next day! The staff was a pleasure and the entire reception went so smoothly.

Just about everything was wonderful. Hotel bar closed at midnight - I don't drink, but a lot of people, including my dad were not very happy about that. Everything else for the most part was awesome!

We used this hotel for our guests to stay after the wedding. They were very professional. The rooms were clean and they worked with me to get the out of town bags to all of our guests. The breakfast provided the next day was great and a nice way to see our guests before they left.

All of our guests stayed here for a very reasonable wedding rate and were very pleased! They also provided us with transportation from our venue (The Poughkeepsie Grandview)

The Grand did a great job with our wedding. The food was okay. But the food dosent make a wedding. The people and the music does. It is really nice how your guests can go to the bar after and continue to socialize and party and then go right upstairs to their rooms. I would reccomend them to people.

Poughkeepsie grand is a really cost effective place for a wedding. On our wedding day they were on top of everything and had great food and service. The only downside is the parking which is shared with the civic center and the elevator that goes from the parking lot to the hotel isn't impressive at all. But besides that it really a pretty place to get married.

Do not book your wedding at this place. I had attended a wedding at the Poughkeepsie Grand over a yr ago and had a nice time. I thought it would be a good place to have our wedding. We made it simple and booked it. We gave our deposit and signed the contracts and began planning the rest of our wedding. When I called to ask a question two months later the sales associate informed me that the date had been double booked for our wedding and we would not be able to hold our event on this day. When I told them I had already booked several vendors to this date and locations they were "apologetic" but said there was nothing they could do. After asking to speak with the head of the hotel not only did they inform us that we would have to change the date or make other arrangements, they then told us that if we had to cancel and go somewhere else that they would not be able to give us our deposit back. After trying to figure out a date that worked for the five vendors we had booked we opted to cancel the wedding at poughkeepsie grand because the loos of all the down payments for the vendors out weighted the deposit we gave the hotel. In the end they kept 1500 of our money and said "well you entered into our contract in good faith that you would pay the money." The event rep that double booked us was horrible and the head of the hotel was not much better. I have been in customer service for over ten yrs and I could not believe how this place treated us. I have NEVER took the time to write a review about a place positive or negative but figured that this needed to be out there. Oh and to top it off people I know recently got married there and the electric wiring in the ballrooom shorted leaving them powerless before the the ceremony. It cause the whole thing to be postponed two hrs. I hear there customer service skills were just as good when dealing with the bridal party who was in the dark. They are not good buisness people. do yourself a favor and stay away!!
